Chapter 6: Friday Sleepovers and Spells

Sophie's POV

It was finally Friday. We had survived five days of school. After school on Monday, Nevaeh stayed true to her word and locked Fitz in his room with no way of getting out. He stayed in there until he had finished his homework, even the homework that was due next week.

We had grown close with Percy, Annabeth, Leo, Calypso, Katie, Travis, Connor, Thalia, Nico, Will, Hazel, Frank, Jason and Piper. Except for Tam, Linh, Ro, Bo and Nevaeh, the latter refusing to even talk to them most of the time. Unless they spoke directly to her, Nevaeh would just ignore them.

Now, it was the end of the day and we were walking out of the front doors, near the parking lot.

"Hey, do you guys want to come to our place for a sleepover? At like 6 or 6:30?" Biana asked. Nevaeh glared at her. "We can play truth or dare and get to know eachother even better."

"Sure." Percy answered after a minute. Nevaeh walked away with Tam quickly following. Linh, Ro and Bo followed them after shooting a glare at us. They didn't come back but I saw a flash that meant they had leapt home. Why didn't they trust our new friends?

Nevaeh's POV

What the Tartarus?! Why? Why was this happening? Tam, Linh, Ro, Bo and I leapt back to the Penthouse and I immediately ran up to my room. I sat on my bed and started to cry. I heard the quiet sound of voices before my door opened and closed. Someone sat next to me and pulled me to them.

All of my emotions poured into my tears. All of the emotions that had been bottled up for the last week came pouring out; anger, sadness, betrayal, scaredness, all of those. The person pulled me onto their lap and I realized it was Tam. I snuggled into his warmth and he wrapped his arms around me tighter.

"E, it'll be okay. We'll figure it out. You have me and Linh and Ro and Bo and your father and the council and your aunt." My aunt was Queen Hilda of the Goblins.

"It's not them that I'm worried about, though I am worried about them. I also worried about the monsters and truth or dare. What if they ask about my past again. Biana should've asked us before inviting them over."

"Shhh… it'll be okay. Calm down Love. Everything will be fine. Calm down." He was right, I should calm down. I focused on his warmth and on his voice as he kept murmuring about how everything would be fine and too calm down. See, I'm a shade. I control the shadows and am so in-tune with them that when I have spells the shadows respond. It makes whatever room I'm in darken and one time, when I was super mad - this was before I met Tam - they even created a mini shadow storm.

Hades comes over and lays next to my feet. I focus on him as well and slowly, my tears lessen. I smile sadly and the room becomes silent. I hear a door open and voices talking.

"We should go down." Tam says. I nod. We stood but before I walked out the door, I thought of something.

"Tammy, did Ro or Bo hail the Council or my Father?"

"No. But you can."

"I will." I walk back to my bedside stand and grab my imparter before continuing to follow Tam out the door. Hades was next to me. I saw the 14 demigods sitting on the couch and looked at a clock. It read 5:30. They were early and I would tell them that. "You're early." Biana walks over and stands in front of me before answering.

"We were all worried about you. We told them they could come over early to check in on you." She said, looking straight in my eye.

"Well as you can see, I am perfectly fine. I just had one of my spells." I walk over and sit on the empty couch, that is also farthest from them. "I have to h-call Liora."

"You need special permission to ha-call one of the Councilors." Sophie said.

"I have special permission to hail any of the Councilors." I answer. "Hail Liora." She picked up almost immediately and looked at my red rimmed eyes and sad expression. "Liora, they invited them over. I also had a spell."

"Okay Nevaeh. Listen, if you have one more spell, you can come home. Just don't do it on purpose. Okay?"

"Yes Lia. What should I do about them?"

"Act like everything is normal. Don't show that you're scared, okay?" I nod.

"Okay, thank you. Bye."

"Bye Nevaeh." She hung-up and I hailed my Father.

"Nevaeh! How are- what happened Dear Daughter?" (A/N: if the words are bolded and in italics, it means that they are speaking Orgeish. Get? Got it? Good).

"Biana Amberly invited them over and I had a spell." He sighed.

"I don't think it's good for you to be there. You've had two spells in almost a week."

"Liora said I could come home if I have another spell. I just can't have it on purpose." He chuckled at the last sentence.

"Why would you have a spell on purpose?" He asked. I shrugged.

"How am I supposed to know? Anyway, I gotta go, they are here and are staring at me weirdly."

"I'll see you soon, Daughter."

"See you soon Father." He hung up and I addressed the demigods in the room. "Why are you staring at me? Didn't you know staring is rude?" Leo speaks first.

"Can I see your phone thingy?"

"No. No you may not." I glare at him. "Besides, I don't have a "phone thingy" this is my version of a phone. You may not see it or touch it or hold it or do any mechanicy thing on it." He shrinks back under my tone. I hold my glare at him a second longer before looking at Biana, the glare still on my face. "Let's play T or D. Everyone sit down." They do as I say. Tam sits next to me and I call Hades up onto the couch in between us. Linh sits on the other side of Tam.

"No animals on furniture Nevaeh. You know that." Fitz says. I glare at him.

"I don't care, Fitzroy. Would you like me to lock you in your room until you do all your homework again?" He quickly shakes his head and I smile. "Great! Biana, you start."

"Ummm… okay. Annabeth, truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"Okay. Do you have any siblings?"

"Yes."

"Cool, your turn."

"Okay! Nevaeh truth or dare?" Oh gods.

"Truth."

"Hmmm… what's a spell?"

"I don't have a great past. Sometimes, when something happens that reminds me of my past or has something to do with my past, I break down. After that, I have a hard time calming down." I answer. "Hades helps me calm down." They look confused. "My dog." I gesture to said dog and they nod.

"What was today's spell?" Percy asks. Linh jumps in.

"Usually, you don't ask her that sort of thing."

"That's not something I answer but since you didn't know, I'll answer it just this once. Also, you're only allowed to ask one question per turn. Something happened in my past that I was reminded of today, when Biana invited all of you over without asking anyone!" Biana winces. "Percy, truth or dare?"

"Truth?"

"What's your biggest regret?" I ask without hesitation.

"There are many things that I regret doing. My biggest regret, I guess that would be when I lost one of my friends. I betrayed her, broke her trust. When we tried looking for her, her adoptive father said that if she didn't want to be found then we wouldn't find her."

"He was right." I mutter under my breath. Betraying me was his biggest regret? That's… interesting. "Your turn!"

"Biana, truth or dare."

"Dare."

"Ooooh, I have a good one. I dare you not to wear makeup until Friday of next week and Nevaeh gets to pick your clothes."

"You, Percy, are evil. But I don't back down from a dare." I silently cheer and let a small, really tiny, smile grace my face. "Oooo, my turn! Tam, truth or dare?"

"Dare."

"Yes! I dare you to wear blue clothes for the rest of the night."

"Fine. Nevaeh, wanna help pick them out?" He asks me, standing up. I nod and stand up, walking up the stairs next to him. I looked down at everyone before I went into his bedroom and saw Biana glaring at me. I fought the urge to stick my tongue out at her.

Biana's POV

My biological sister was never around. She came home like once a week for a while, then it became once a month, then, she never returned. We didn't see her for about five years, when she turned up at the meeting. The last thing I remember before she left was yelling.

*Flashback*

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" Nevaeh yelled. She was covered in blood and her shirt was ripped all over.

"Where have you been?!" Dad yelled as he and Mom came downstairs. They were mad.

"With my friends. Relax." She replied, looking sad.

"With your friends?! I don't think you should see them anymore!" Mom yelled.

"Good! I won't be!" Nevaeh yelled back. Her bottom lip wobbled, like she was about to burst into tears. "I'm going to take a shower!" She stomped upstairs and I heard the shower running. 10 minutes later, she came down in different clothes, holding a large bag, a backpack and two small make-up bags. "I'll see you when I see you. Bye." Then, she left.

I saw her around, sometimes in Slurps and Burps, sometimes in other shops in Mysterium, once, I saw her inspecting the fountain in Atlantis. I even saw her at Sophie's tribunal, same with Alvar's. Dad swears she was at Sophie's first tribunal and other noble parties, even ones that didn't allow families, but she couldn't have been, she isn't noble and no one except people involved were allowed at Sophie's first tribunal. If she ever saw us, she never bothered greeting us.

*End of Flashback*

When I dared Tam to wear blue tonight, I expected him to ask me to help him pick his clothes, not Nevaeh. Why would he pick Nevaeh? I will figure that out if it's the last thing I do.

Tam's POV

I'm not stupid, nor am I blind. I know Biana has a crush on me and thinks I have a crush on her. I don't and I never will. I love Nevaeh too much, otherwise, I wouldn't have married her.

We got married at a young age for two reasons. The first was the fact that elves usually get married at age 20 (A/n - pretend they do) and the second being that she smells like a demigod and usually demigods die young. Nevaeh won't but well, we knew we wanted to get married someday so we figured, why put it off? Everyone who knew was fine with it. The Councilors were the first people - other than Linh - that we told and they agreed though Bronte needed some convincing. Nevaeh's adoptive family was fine with it because ogres get married at like 14. Linh was fine with it. So, with everyone's blessing, we got married a year ago, though we've been dating for a while.

"Tam." Nevaeh said, waving a hand in front of my face.

"Sorry, I zoned out." She laughed.

"I do that randomly all the time, you know. Don't worry about it." She responded, then gestured to any outfit that she had laid out on my bed. It was a navy blue t-shirt and dark blue jeans. "Is this okay?"

"It's perfectly fine." I say before kissing her. She walked back downstairs so that I could change. I did so quickly, happy that they were almost black. I walked downstairs and took my seat between Nevaeh and Linh. "Before you say anything, these are blue, they're just super dark." I say when I notice Biana opening her mouth. "Anyway, it's my turn. Marella, t or d?"

"Dare."

"I dare you to sit on Dex's lap until we stop playing the game." I said after thinking for a minute. She scowled at me but had a bit of a smile on her face. Moving over, she sat on Dex's lap, blushing. Dex was blushing too but he wrapped his arms around her to stabilize her.

"Nevaeh, truth or dare?" Marella asks.

"Truth."
