I don't own Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir
Well, these were the worst conditions for a battle with Akuma in recent times.
She and Chat would have been in the sewers by now, but that wasn't even half the problem. It was much worse.
First of all, it smelled disgusting and was rather stuffy. The last time he and Chat had been in the sewers was about half a year ago, when they had to fight another Shark that could control the water. Well, they almost drowned.
Second, it was really dark in here. The sewer lights weren't working, so she could barely see her partner, and he was walking a meter away from her. It was rather unpleasant for her to be in such darkness, as she was practically blind.
Third, it was quite slippery and wet.
For the last two reasons, Marinette was forced to hold her partner's hand. Not that she minded, but it was still strange to her.
"Why did Akuma choose the sewer system?" Chaton groaned when they had been walking for about ten minutes. - It controls light and light sources. Logically, he should have gone to the football field, I do not know. Where there are spotlights or similar. Or...
"You don't like holding my hand?" The girl interrupted irritably. – At least you have night vision, what are you complaining about?"
"Well, I also have an enhanced sense of smell," Chaton hissed. "And the stench here is unbearable."
"Did you just hiss at me?" Lady Bug was surprised, her partner had never behaved. – Minou, are you okay?
"Ah. Sorry, my lady, " the boy apologized, sighing and stopping. – It's just that it really smells disgusting in here, and it really gets on my nerves. Sorry to be rude.
"Is it that bad?" – she decided to clarify.
"Yes," he agreed, starting to walk again. "It's like being held up to your nose. And the noise and footsteps irritate me. Or rather, the echo of our footsteps on the wet floor. This constant slam-slam-slam pisses me off!
"Whoa, whoa, Chaton," Marinette said, stunned, trying to hold her partner back. "Don't get too excited. I realize you're a little off today.
"Sorry again, bugaboo," Chat said.
"You're feeling sensory overload, aren't you?" she asked, choosing the right name.
"Yes, how did you know?" he asked again, irritated.
"And... do you do this often?" Lady Bug asked as calmly as she could.
The only thing that kept her from slapping him and giving him some reason was that when she acted like this to him, which was honestly more often than she would have liked, he was patient. Now it wasа her turn.
"At the moment, once or twice a month," he clarified, pulling them to the right. – I talked to Plagg about it in detail the first time it happened. And he said that so often just now. Later, it will become less frequent, but for a longer period, and it will also have some additional 'effects' and will be more pronounced... " he sighed. – It's almost a nightmare right now, and I don't even want to think about what will happen next.
"Every month?" She exclaimed, almost in shock.
"Stop yelling already!" Chaton hissed again.
She took a few minutes to calm down, holding back the urge to punch him in the face.
- Did he say when exactly such a change will take place? - Marinette asked. – And what happens?"
"No," the guy said. – He said, and I quote, ' Trust me, you'd better not hear about this now, or you won't be able to calm down and you'll bore me with your questions.'
"Why didn't you say anything?" Lady Bug asked "I had no idea what you were going through."
"I didn't think it was particularly important," she knew he shrugged. - Apart from today, this has never been attacked by an Akuma.
"Oh, Mon Minou," the girl said as tenderly as she could, wanting to embrace him. "Of course it's important. We might be able to figure something out.
"All right," her partner agreed. – We can discuss this after we defeat Akuma."
"We'll have to get her out somehow, or I'll be practically useless in this dark," Marinette said.
"I can find Akuma, and he'll have to defend himself anyway," Chaton began. – And when it attacks, all the lights in the vicinity start working. You just need to summon a Lucky Charm and enter the battle at the right moment.
"You're in charge of the plan today, aren't you?" she tried to make him chuckle.
"I just want to get this over with and then go home, lock myself in my room, get under the covers, and sleep for the next twenty-four hours," he grumbled without a hint of laughter.
Okay, obviously small talk is unnecessary here, she thought, deciding that silence would be more pleasant for him.
"I think we're here." It's just around the corner, " her partner whispered a few minutes later.
"Then let's get this over with," Lady Bug said firmly.
Marinette was sitting at her desk, writing in her diary.
7) Enhanced senses
8) Certain periods when feelings are even more intense -?
She was pretty sure that last item wasn't related to his feline side, but she put it on the list anyway.
When that was done, she made sure to pack her school stuff for Monday in advance, as she was supposed to go to Alya's house tomorrow, and she also had an evening patrol. He was actually supposed to be patrolling the Chatroom tomorrow, but she convinced him to take a break, which wasn't hard, since he knew he was definitely not in the right shape.
She shivered as she recalled the last minutes of the fight. They were still able to bring Akuma to the surface, which wasn't exactly a mistake, but it definitely wasn't a good thing. While Marinette was summoning her Lucky Charm, her partner was distracting their opponent. But at some point, he caught Chaton off guard and shone a bright light on him. To be honest, the girl thought that her partner's eyes would burn out and he would go blind. But instead, Chat flew into a rage and dug his claws into the opponent's face. Akuma screamed in pain, and the boy growled furiously as he continued to scratch at him. Akuma simply dropped his LED baton, which was supposed to contain a butterfly, to try to defend himself from her partner.
So, the Lucky Charm wasn't even needed. The only thing was, she had to pull Chaton away from Akuma's bloody face before she could break the object. After that was done, she released the peeled butterfly, and everything went back to normal.
Marinette didn't wait long, so she seriously told Chat to rest, and she would do the next patrol herself. After that, her partner quickly left, and she stayed to calm the victim down...
"Yeah, it's definitely been a crazy day", she thought as she got up from her chair and went behind the screen to change into her pajamas.
Soon she was lying on her back in bed, looking up at the cloudless sky through the glass trapdoor.
"Tikki?" Marinette called, turning on her side to see a small shelf where a small pillow was located.
- Yes? - The kwami of Creation called from her seat.
"I remember saying that I want to sort out Chat's feline tendencies for myself, but can you at least tell me if it hurts during these periods? I'm worried about him.
"He's definitely uncomfortable and may be aggressive because of it," Tikki said. "But he shouldn't be in pain.
- Ufff... - the girl relaxed, then she remembered, " He mentioned that things are going to get worse in the future.… Will it hurt later?
"I can't tell you exactly here, Marinette," Kwami said. – It was different for each Chat Noir holder… But he will definitely need special care and attention.
"Which one?" she asked.
"I suggest you don't think about it yet," Tikki advised, which reminded Marinette of what Plagg had said.
"Okay," she said, pulling the blanket over her. "Good night, Tikki."
"Good night, Marinette," Kwami said back.
