It was the following afternoon. Franky wiped the sweat from his brow as he surveyed the freshly repaired Thousand Sunny. "Alright guys, she's all set," he announced, gesturing towards the ship.
The crew let out sighs of relief, glad to see their beloved ship back in shape. "Great job, Franky!" Usopp exclaimed, patting the shipwright on the back.
Nami looked at the ship with a satisfied smile. "I'm just glad to see her seaworthy again," she commented.
Brook and Chopper chimed in with words of approval, while Zoro approached the ship and ran a hand over the freshly repaired hull. "Looks like she's good as new," Zoro observed, a hint of satisfaction in his voice.
Luffy, who had been observing the crew members interacting with the ship, had a big smile on his face. He was just glad to have their ship back in top condition and ready for their next adventure. The last day had been a long one, and he was eager to get back to normal.
Seeing the crew's satisfaction and the excitement in their eyes, Luffy couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and joy. "We're good to go now!" he said, his voice filled with excitement.
The crew climbed aboard the Thousand Sunny, taking in the sight of their beloved ship restored to its former glory.
"Alright, crew! Let's set sail!" Luffy shouted, his voice filled with determination and excitement.
The crew let out a collective "Yeah!" They all took their positions and the Thousand Sunny began to move, cutting through the water as they set off on their next adventure.
Several hours later, the Thousand Sunny was gliding smoothly across the ocean, the wind catching in its sails as the ship cut through the waves. The crew was in good spirits, enjoying the peacefulness of the open sea. Aria was standing near the railing of the ship, looking out at the endless expanse of water. The others were scattered about the ship, engaging in various tasks or simply taking in the fresh air.
The afternoon was bright and clear, the sun shining overhead as the ship continued on its journey. The sound of the waves lapping against the side of the ship and the seagulls flying overhead created a calming atmosphere.
Aria leaned against the railing, looking out to the sea as she inhaled the fresh ocean air. Brook approached Aria, his cane tapping softly against the deck. "Enjoying the view?" he asked, joining her at the railing.
"Yeah," Aria replied, nodding her head. "It's beautiful out here. I never get tired of it."
Brook chuckled, his empty eye sockets gazing out at the endless expanse of water. "Yes, the sea has a way of calming the soul, doesn't it?
Aria nodded again. "It's even better when you sing to us."
Brook's skeletal face blushed pink, an almost comical sight. "Oh, you're too kind," he replied, a hint of embarrassment in his voice. "I'm just glad my music brings you comfort." He began to hum a tune, the soothing melody drifting through the air and mingling with the sound of the waves. Aria found herself mesmerized by the sound, any lingering worries melting away with each note.
The rest of the crew, who were nearby, all paused to listen to Brook's music. Even Luffy, who had been napping on the deck, sat up suddenly, a look of realization on his face. He looked over at Brook and Aria, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Aria found herself swaying to Brook's song as he hummed. Brook's empty eye sockets seemed to gleam with joy as he sang louder, his voice carrying over the sound of the waves. Aria closed her eyes, letting herself get lost in the music. She felt transported to another world, one where worries didn't exist and only the beauty of the moment mattered.
The rest of the crew could see the effect Brook's music was having on Aria and smiled, knowing that his talents had the ability to bring comfort and peace to others. Even Luffy found himself feeling a sense of calmness wash over him, his usual restless energy subsiding as he listened to Brook sing.
The melody washed over the deck like a gentle breeze, bringing a sense of tranquility to the crew. The music floated across the open ocean, carried on the wind. As Brook finished his song, he looked over at Aria and the rest of the crew, gauging their reactions. A smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as he saw the dazed yet happy expressions on their faces.
"That was beautiful." Aria said, a content smile on her face.
Brook's mouth stretched into a wide grin. "Ah, thank you, my dear. Music is a language that speaks to the soul, and it warms my heart to know that it brings others joy." He paused for a moment. "...Or it would, if I had a heart!"
Aria chuckled, never tired of Brooks' skull jokes.
Usopp, who had been nearby, chimed in. "Yeah, your music really made us relax, Brook. It's like medicine for the soul, I swear."
Franky added, "You bet! Brook's music always makes everything better. It's like a tonic for the ears."
"Can you sing something else for us?" Aria asked, her eyes sparkling at the prospect of hearing another song from her favorite skeleton.
Brook chuckled warmly, pleased by the request. "Of course, my dear," he replied, adjusting his bow tie. "Any preference in mind?"
"Could you sing 'Binks' Brew'? It's one of my favorites." Aria said. She had heard Brook sing it plenty of times before, but she never grew tired of hearing it.
Brook's bony smile widened. "Ah, 'Binks' Brew' it is then! It's a favorite of mine as well." He cleared his "throat" and began to sing in his melodic voice. The song was a familiar and beloved one, and the lyrics spoke of dreams, freedom, and the open seas.
As Brook sang, the crew began to hum and sing along, their voices joining in to weave a harmonious chorus that echoed across the ocean.
"Gather up all of the crew!
It's time to ship out Bink's brew!
Pirates we, eternally are challenging the sea!
With the waves to rest our heads,
Ship beneath us as our beds!
Hoisted high upon the mast our Jolly Roger flies!"
Even Luffy, who normally couldn't hold a tune to save his life, attempted to sing along. His off-key vocals only served to add to the charm of the moment, and the crew all chuckled as his voice cracked on a particularly high note.
Aria couldn't help but laugh herself. She motioned for Luffy to come closer to join her. Luffy, seeing Aria's gesture, got up and bounded over to her, a cheeky grin on his face. He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer.
"Somewhere in the endless sky,
Stormy winds are blowin' by!
Waves are dancing, evening comes,
It's time to sound the drums!
But steady men may never fear!
Tomorrow's skies are always clear!
So pound your feet and clap your hands till sunny days return!" Brook sung along with the crew, his voice blending beautifully with the sound of the waves.
Aria leaned her head against Luffy's chest, enjoying the sensation of his arm wrapped around her.
"Yo-hohoho, Yo-hoho-ho,
Yo-hohoho, Yo-hoho-ho,
Yo-hohoho, Yo-hoho-ho,
Yo-hohoho, Yo-hoho-ho," Brook sang while the crew sung along.
Luffy joined in on the singing, his off-key voice blending in with the rest of the crew's. He held Aria a little closer, his arm now around her shoulders as he sang along to the melody. His voice cracked on high notes, and his timing was a bit off, but his enthusiasm made up for it.
"Gather up all of the crew!
It's time to ship out Bink's brew!
Wave good-bye, but don't you cry
Our memories remain.
Our days are but a passing dream, everlasting though they seem
'neath the moon we'll meet again, the wind's our lullaby!"
The cheerful sound of the crew's combined voices carried across the deck, creating a sense of unity and joy.
"Yo-hohoho, Yo-hoho-ho,
Yo-hohoho, Yo-hoho-ho,
Yo-hohoho, Yo-hoho-ho,
Yo-hohoho, Yo-hoho-ho."
Eventually, the song came to an end, and the crew clapped, cheering for Brook. Brook bowed dramatically, his bony frame bent in a gracious gesture. "Thank you, thank you all," he said, his empty eye sockets sparkling. "It's a joy to perform for such a wonderful audience."
Franky grinned, giving Brook a thumbs up. "You rock, man! Your voice is like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day."
"That was the best." Aria beamed.
Brook chuckled again, clearly touched by the praise. "Ah, flattery will get you everywhere, my dear."
Luffy's arm was still around Aria, and he squeezed her shoulder lightly, a wide grin on his face. "We could listen to you sing forever, Brook."
Brook's smile widened, if that was even possible. "Oh, I could sing for a hundred more years and it still wouldn't be long enough. Music is my life, and sharing it with you all is a gift."
Usopp, leaning against the mast, chimed in. "You've got that right, Brook. Your songs lift our spirits and make us forget about everything else."
Brook's bony fingers brushed over his afro, a gesture of modesty. "Ah, my friends, the real credit goes to the songs themselves. Their lyrics have a way of speaking to our hearts, don't they?" He paused briefly. "... I had one!"
A couple of hours later, the sky was slowly turning shades of orange and red, signaling the approach of evening. Luffy was sprawled out on the grassy lawn of the deck, his arms and legs thrown out in a starfish position. His eyes were closed as he enjoyed the warmth of the setting sun on his face.
The rest of the crew were nearby, engaged in various activities or simply enjoying the peacefulness of the moment. The only sound was the gentle lapping of the water against the hull of the ship, punctuated by the occasional cry of a seagull overhead.
Aria walked around the deck, taking in the beauty of the setting sun and the vast expanse of the sea around them. She couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and contentment wash over her, despite the danger that still loomed ahead. As she walked around, she found herself near Luffy, who was still lying sprawled out on the grass lawn on the Sunny. She chuckled at the sight of him, his long limbs and relaxed expression making him look almost childlike.
She sat down beside him, taking care not to disturb him. From this angle, she had a clear view of the sun setting on the horizon, its orange and red hues painting the sky in a breathtaking display. After a moment, Luffy opened his eyes and looked up at the sky. "Looks pretty," he said, his voice lazy and content.
Aria smiled down at him, her hand automatically reaching out to brush a strand of hair away from his face. "It does," she agreed. "It's moments like these that remind me why I love being out here on the sea."
Luffy sat up. He looked at Aria, his gaze lingering on her face. "You look happy," he said, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Aria felt her cheeks flush slightly at his words. "I am," she replied, her smile widening. "Being out here with you and the crew, seeing all these beautiful sights...it's hard not to be happy."
Luffy chuckled and leaned back on his hands, his eyes still on her. "You're different than when we first met," he said suddenly, his voice quieter than before.
Aria paused, a little surprised by his comment. "Different...how?" she asked, her eyes meeting his.
Luffy tilted his head slightly, studying her. "You're more...open. More sure of yourself." His gaze softened, and he reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. "It suits you."
Aria felt her heart flutter. She had to admit, being with Luffy and the crew had brought out a different side of her. She felt more comfortable in her own skin and more confident than she had ever been before. "I guess being with you guys has that effect on someone," she said, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "I've never felt more like myself than when I'm with you all."
Luffy smiled back at her, a warm, genuine smile that made her heart skip a beat. "And I'm glad you feel that way," he said, his voice sincere. "You fit in with us just perfectly, you know that?"
Aria felt a wave of happiness wash over her at his words. She had been worried when she first joined the crew that she wouldn't fit in, that she would somehow mess up the dynamic the crew had already established. But over time, they had all welcomed her with open arms and made her feel like a part of their family. "I do," she said with certainty. "I feel like I belong here." She paused with a playful smirk. "Even if you guys can be a bunch of crazy idiots sometimes." She joked.
Luffy's face broke into a wide grin at her words. "Hey, being crazy idiots is part of our charm," he protested, his tone mock offended.
Aria smiled. "Well, for what it's worth, there's nowhere else I'd rather be than with you crazy idiots." She laughed before briefly pausing. "And I'm joking, you're not idiots." She paused, smirking now. "Okay, maybe sometimes."
Luffy feigned offense at her remark, clutching his chest like he was wounded. "I can't believe you would say such hurtful things," he said in a dramatic tone, a mischievous glint in his eye. "And after we've been so good to you."
"Oh, come on," Aria said, swatting his arm lightly. "You know I'm just kidding. I love you guys."
Luffy chuckled, the corners of his eyes crinkling with mirth. "Aww, you love us, huh?" he teased.
"Ugh, you know what I mean," Aria said, rolling her eyes but unable to keep from smiling.
"I know, I know," Luffy said, still grinning. "But it's always nice to hear." He leaned back on his hands, his expression turning more serious. "It reminds me that we're not just a crew, we're a family."
Aria's heart warmed at his words. "We are a family," she agreed.
Luffy nodded, his gaze turned towards the evening sky once more. The sun had nearly disappeared below the horizon, leaving an array of colorful hues in its wake. "We've been through a lot together," he said, his voice quiet. "And we've still got a lot more to face. But I know we'll get through it. Because we're strong, and we're together."
Aria's smile softened. She leaned her head on Luffy's shoulder. "We are." She said, her voice noticeably softer.
Luffy felt her weight against his shoulder and his heart skipped a beat. He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her a little closer. He looked down at her, the fading light of the sun casting a soft glow on her face. "We'll always be together," he said, his voice low and sure. "No matter what happens."
They sat in silence for a few moments, enjoying each other's presence and the beauty of the fleeting sunset. It was a comfortable silence, one where words weren't necessary. The sky continued to darken, the stars slowly coming out in the night sky.
Unbeknownst to the Straw Hats, a marine ship sailed in the distance. The ship was large and imposing, with its cannons gleaming in the moonlight. The marines on board were on high alert, their eyes scanning the sea for any signs of the Straw Hat pirates.
"Are you sure they're around here?" A marine asked, his eyes fixed on the horizon. "We've been sailing all day and haven't seen a single trace of them."
"Trust me, we're in the right area," A marine officer replied, his eyes narrowing as he looked through his binoculars. "Those pirates are known for their unpredictable movements. They could be nearby, just out of our sight."
The other marine grumbled under his breath, clearly annoyed. "This is a waste of time," he muttered. "These Straw Hat pirates have evaded us time and time again. We'll never be able to catch them."
The marine officer lowered his binoculars and turned to the other marine with a serious look. "We haven't been ordered to capture them," he said, his voice low. "We've been ordered to find the blonde girl who sails with them. The one who can speak to the sea."
The marine's eyes widened. "The sea whisperer?" He asked, his voice laced with surprise. "Are you serious?"
The officer nodded. "Yes," he confirmed. "The higher-ups believe that if we can get control of her power, we'll be able to use it against all who oppose the World Government. It would be a valuable asset to have in our possession."
The marine fell silent for a moment as he processed this information. "I see," he said finally, his tone more serious.
The officer could sense the concern in his tone. "We'll have to approach this tactically. We can't afford to underestimate her or her abilities."
As the two marines continued their conversation, the marine ship continued sailing through the dark waters, the crew searching intently for any signs of the Straw Hat pirate ship.
Meanwhile, on the Thousand Sunny, Luffy and Aria were still sitting in silence, blissfully unaware of the marine ship in the distance. The stars were now out in full force, sparkling like diamonds against the night sky.
Aria's head was still rested comfortably on Luffy's shoulder, their arms around each other. Luffy glanced down at Aria, his heart swelling at the sight of her head on his shoulder. He found himself feeling a mixture of things around her - love, comfort, vulnerability...it overwhelmed him sometimes, but in the best way possible. He wasn't used to feeling these things, but when he was with her, it felt right.
Luffy looked at her for a moment longer, taking in her features in the soft moonlight. He could feel his heart thumping in his chest, a feeling he'd grown accustomed to whenever he was around her. Despite his usual carefree demeanor, he had moments where he felt vulnerable and exposed, especially when it came to his feelings for Aria.
He continued to gaze at her, his hand gently playing with a strand of her hair. Sometimes, Luffy found it difficult to express his emotions out loud, but in moments like this, he hoped his actions spoke louder than words. He knew he loved her and he wanted her to know it too, even if he couldn't always put it into words.
Aria could feel his gaze on her. She looked up at him with a small smile. "What are you looking at?" She asked, a trace of amusement in her voice.
Luffy chuckled, caught. "Just you," he said, his tone low and affectionate.
Aria's smile widened, a warm feeling spreading through her body. She knew he couldn't help but stare at her, and the fact that he was being so open about it only made her heart melt even more. She leaned up and kissed the tip of his nose, affectionately.
Luffy's cheeks reddened at the unexpected kiss on the nose. He loved how she could manage to be both strong and feisty, yet tender and sweet all at once. It was a part of her that always caught him off guard. He gently pulled her closer to him. The two sat in silence once more, enjoying the comfort of each other's presence. The sound of the waves crashing against the ship was the only thing breaking the peaceful silence.
Back on the marine ship, one of the marines had been peering through a spyglass, scanning the ocean for any sign of the Straw Hat's ship. Suddenly, he spotted the Thousand Sunny in the distance. "Over there! I see the Straw Hat pirates' ship!" he shouted.
The other marines rushed to his side, taking a look for themselves. Several of the marines used their spyglasses to get a closer look.
"Look, there! I see Straw Hat Luffy!" One marine exclaimed, peering through his spyglass.
"He's sitting with a girl," Another marine added.
The other marines crowded around, all peering through their spyglasses to get a better look. "She's blonde. That fits the description Kado gave," one marine remarked.
"They're sitting pretty close together," Another commented, a hint of confusion in his voice. "They have their arms around each other."
The others around him shrugged, equally perplexed. The blonde girl was unknown to them, and the thought of Luffy actually seeming close to a girl was so uncharacteristic from what they knew about the infamous Straw Hat captain that it caught them off guard.
The marines all continued to stare, speculating amongst themselves. "Who is she? Do you think she's the one Kado is looking for?" One asked.
"It must be her," Another responded. "She fits the description. I don't recognize her from any of the wanted photos I've seen of Straw Hat Luffy's crew..."
The marines' curiosity was piqued as they tried to figure out the identity of the girl and her possible role on the crew. Kado had given them a specific description of a blonde girl, and there she was, sitting closely with Luffy. The mystery only deepened.
"I don't get it," one of the marines said, scratching his head in confusion. "I've never seen Straw Hat Luffy with a girl like that before. He's not known to have relationships or girlfriends..."
"Maybe she's a hostage or a captive?" another marine suggested.
Another marine scoffed, "No way. Look at the way Straw Hat is holding her. He looks too comfortable. No way she's a captive."
The other marines murmured in agreement. The way Luffy's arm was around her and their proximity to each other suggested a level of ease and familiarity that didn't match the idea of a hostage or captive. But who was she then? If she wasn't a crew mate, what was she doing on board the Thousand Sunny? There was a collective curiosity among the marines who had been watching them.
Suddenly, a voice interrupted their discussion. "What's going on, men?" It was Kado, approaching from behind them.
The marines straightened immediately at the sound of their superior's voice. "Vice Admiral Kado," one of them greeted. "We've spotted Straw Hat Luffy's ship in the distance."
Kado's eyes narrowed as he looked in the direction the marine was pointing. He could see the Thousand Sunny in the distance, a slight silhouette in the darkness of night. "Any sign of the girl?" he asked, his voice low and sharp.
The marines exchanged glances, each knowing exactly what Kado was referring to. "Y-Yes, sir," one of them replied, his voice nervous. "We believe we've spotted her."
Kado's expression darkened. "Where?" he demanded.
"She's sitting on the deck with Straw Hat Luffy," a marine said, his voice tinged with unease.
Kado brought a spyglass to his eye and scanned the Thousand Sunny. His eyes sharpened as he saw Luffy and Aria together, their arms wrapped around each other. He had to admit, they looked quite close. "Interesting," he murmured.
The marines waited anxiously as Kado lowered the spyglass. His expression was unreadable as he regarded the scene on the Thousand Sunny. "It seems Straw Hat has a girlfriend," he said finally, a note of curiosity in his voice.
The marines glanced at each other, surprised by Kado's reaction. They had expected him to be more concerned, more tense. But he seemed almost fascinated. "What do we do, sir?' one of them asked.
Kado's gaze was fixed on the Thousand Sunny. "We don't engage just yet," he said, his voice low. "We observe. And we wait."
