Derek put his tools away and walked to the back porch joining Hotch and JJ as they sipped iced tea. Emily walked out with the girls who were in their swimsuits and after they jumped in, she leaned over and kissed the top of JJ's head liberating the blondes drink and taking a deep swallow, "Mmm, that tastes good."

"Glad you enjoyed it babe, would you like a refill?" JJ asked sarcastically. "I'm sure I can scrounge up another glass for you."

"Thanks sweetie," Emily replied, JJ's sarcasm noted and ignored as she smiled innocently at her. "You take such good care of me." As JJ passed by her chair, Emily reached out and pulled her into her lap, kissing her lightly.

"For that, you're forgiven." JJ whispered in her ear. "And if you're really good, perhaps we can make tonight a night to remember." When Emily moaned, she kissed her again. She kept it chaste so as not to embarrass the men knowing they were watching. One more closely than the other.

When JJ walked away, Derek grinned at Emily, she knew he was about to say something, "Not a word, Morgan. Keep your prurient thoughts to yourself."

"I have only one thought princess and that's, damn you two get hotter and hotter together!"

"Derek Morgan, my children are right behind you!" Emily said, smiling as JJ stepped back onto the porch. Handing her empty glass to JJ she winked at her, "Our contractor thinks we're hot honey."

"Well of course he does, he has eyes right?" JJ winked back.

Emily and Hotch laughed both shaking their heads in unison, "She's got you there, Derek." Hotch remarked as JJ made herself comfortable in Emily's lap.

"Well I'll take that as my cue to head home to my own hot blonde. She at least appreciates my, what did you call them, Em?"

"Prurient thoughts."

"Right, my prurient thought."

JJ laughed, "I bet she does."

Derek rose from the table setting his now empty glass on the tray beside the pitcher of tea. "Don't get up ladies, I'll show myself out."

After Derek left, Emily turned her attention to Hotch, "How long can you stay, brother dearest?" she laughed, not being able to keep a straight face.

He smiled in return, raising an eyebrow slightly, "Probably four days without raising any suspicions."

"We'd love to have you longer if you think we can make it seem natural," JJ replied refilling his tea glass.

"Why don't we reevaluate at the end of the week and see where we are?"

JJ nodded, "Sounds like a plan. Now, what did Garcia say babe?"

"Our friendly neighborhood alarm man has a few unsightly voyeuristic tendencies. He's put cameras in areas I didn't approve like the master bedroom and bath." At JJ's sharp intake of breath she hurried to assure her fears, rubbing her back soothingly. "Garcia says she can loop the feed so he only sees what we want to show him. It'll be okay Jen, I promise."

Hotch quietly slipped away jumping in the pool with the girls, "Uncle Hotch! You splashed us!" Amelia yelled.

"We're in a pool, silly girl! Do you want to jump off my shoulders and flip?"

"Yeah! That would be so much fun!"

Emily overhead him and said, "Be careful, I don't need my daughter getting hurt." She raised an eyebrow knowingly, then the two mothers watched their daughter flip off his shoulders both wincing.

"Did you see that mommy? Momma did you watch me?"

"You did so good, baby! Seems those gymnastics lessons are paying off," JJ said sinking into Emily's embrace.

Emily checked the house one last time to make sure all the doors and windows were closed and locked before joining JJ in the bedroom. The blonde was laying out her pjs when Emily stepped behind her wrapping her arms around JJ's waist. JJ circled around to wrap her own arms around Emily's neck leaning up for a kiss that started as a slow exploration and quickly became deep and passionate.

They both lost themselves in the kiss, lost in desire; their passion rising to fevered heights transmitted in a single kiss that took their breath away. Drawing back, JJ looked into pools of brown that reflected her desires back at her. "I love you babe and I need to make love to you."

Emily responded in form of a kiss, soft sighs and moans then pulled back, "I want that too, Jen. But not while cameras are watching us."

JJ's hands could no longer still their motion on Emily's back and she slipped them under her wife's shirt, caressing the soft skin of her stomach and sides. She was barely resisting the urge to cup the full breasts hanging loose under the Yale sweatshirt Emily had put on. "Can you cover the one in the bathroom without making it look suspicious?"

Emily nodded and pulled JJ's hands from beneath her shirt bringing each one to her mouth and kissing the back lightly, "I'll make sure of it."

Emily took her own clothes from the dresser before once again taking JJ's hand and leading her into the bathroom. Emily tossed a towel in the direction of the potted plant on the counter effectively covering the camera she knew it held, allowing them privacy to undress.

As JJ pulled her shirt off, she cocked her head in the direction of the massive Jacuzzi tub; one of the major draws for her was the master bathroom and oversized tub that could hold the two of them easily along with another person for that matter. Although she didn't realize this house would be her parents' after they completed their assignment, she wanted to make sure it was as close to their house as possible to not disturb the girls. "How about we skip the shower and take a bath together?"

"You are a woman after my own heart, Jennifer Prentiss."

"I know I messed up, but I hope I still have it babe. I've been after it for a while now," JJ winked.

Emily closed the few feet separating them in several steps and pulled JJ into her arms, "You have always had it and I hope you never doubt that."

JJ cupped Emily's face in her palms bringing their lips close but not quite touching, "I've never doubted you or your love for me and the girls for even a second. I promise to prove my love for you every single day for the rest of my life."

As the last words fell from her lips, she captured Emily's seeking and gaining admittance into the brunettes mouth to show just how much she meant the words she'd said.

When their breaths became labored and breathing was difficult, she reluctantly pulled back; gazing into brown eyes that were filled with the love she knew Emily felt for her and sighed, laying her head on Emily's chest.

As the tub filled, Emily removed her own clothes and slipped in starting the jets and adjusting the pressure. Once she got it the way she liked, she turned off the water and held out a hand helping JJ into the tub leading her to the open spot between her outstretched legs Emily gently urged her wife back against her chest. Once settled, Emily pressed a button on the wall that dimmed the lights and another that started the soft jazz station she liked playing.

When the last waves calmed and JJ could speak once more, she kissed Emily thoroughly and sighed, "I've missed your magical fingers Mrs. Prentiss."

Emily laughed and kissed her again, "I've missed feeling your body respond to me."

Lying more fully in Emily's arms, JJ traced her fingers over the flesh she could easily reach, caressing every exposed inch of Emily's body; she slowly and sensuously she brought the brunette to her own release but it wasn't the same. It wasn't like the last two and a half years of making love with each other. JJ didn't know what was going on, but something wasn't right. Deciding to let it go for now, she nudged the drain with her toe, "Let's get you into bed so I can finish what I've started."

JJ wrapped herself in a towel Emily stepped out as well, "I'm not sure how comfortable I feel knowing Garcia will be watching after she loops the camera."

JJ leaned in and kissed Emily, "Do you really think she'll do that?"

Emily laughed, "Knowing Garcia, she'll watch some. Maybe not the entire time, but she won't be able to resist. She's slightly obsessed with her favorite lesbian duo."

JJ grinned, acknowledging the Emily was more than likely correct in her assessment of their best friend, "You're probably right, but I think she'd give us our privacy."

"Well, until I know for sure there will be no Girls Gone Wild for Garcia to tease us about later."

"I'll be sure to let her know that her voyeuristic tendencies will be affecting our love life. In the meantime, how about we snuggle instead?"

"Sounds good," Emily said, slipping under the covers.

The two women shut their eyes and JJ fell asleep instantly, Emily couldn't, her mind was racing. I love Jen, I love her so much. Why can't I stuff this away and give myself to my wife? Why is this so hard for me? Emily was deep in thought when she heard screaming, seeing JJ sound asleep next to her she ran into Amelia's bedroom.

Across town, Jason Anderson was pacing his office randomly throwing items against the walls and screaming his frustration of not being able to watch the women in the bathroom. He'd thought the potted ivy was the perfect place to hide the camera until that black haired bitch had thrown a towel over the container. Now he'd have to find a reason to return to the house and move it. Of course he thought, he did have the security codes to the alarms; he'd just wait until they were out for the day and then he would be able to correct his mistake.

"No don't let him hurt me! Stop! N0! Please don't, I'll be good, no please. Mommy help me!"

Emily sat on Amelia's bed and scooped her daughter into her arms, "Amelia wake up baby, mommy's here, come on baby open your beautiful eyes for me. You're safe, sweet girl, mommy's here."

Amelia continued thrashing in her mother's arms, "No! Mommy help me! Don't let him, stop, help!

"Amelia, wake up baby! You're safe, mommy's right here. I've got you, I'm here."

Hotch heard the yelling the same time JJ did and they both came running to find Emily already in Amelia's bedroom. "I'm sorry Hotch, we should have warned you about Amelia's nightmares."

"Don't worry about it, I just wanted to make sure everything was okay."

"We're fine, thank you," JJ said, putting her hand on his shoulder.

"JJ, you're not fine, you're crying. Come on, let's go get some water."

"I'm scared mommy, don't let him touch me! I promise I'll be good."

"Amelia baby, open your eyes, you're having a nightmare. You're safe baby, mommy's right here. I'm here baby girl."

"Mommy?" Amelia said, opening her eyes and feeling Emily running her fingers through her hair.

"I'm here sweet girl, mommy's right here."

"I'm scared," Amelia said, crying and burying herself further in Emily's chest.

"You're safe baby, do you want to talk about it? Are you scared because of your nightmare or something else?"

"Is someone gonna hurt us here?"

Emily's heart was breaking, "I'm not going to let anything happen to you baby, never ever. I will always protect you, okay?" Amelia nodded, squeezing her arms tighter around her mother. Emily looked in the doorway and saw that JJ and Hotch had left the doorway, "Do you want to know a super special secret sweet girl?"

Amelia looked up at her and smiled, "What is it mommy?"

"You can't tell your momma okay?" she nodded, "I bought this house for grandma Sandy and grandpa Allen—"

"You did?" Amelia shot up, brown eyes bore into darker brown, "They are going to live here like grandma and grandpa do?"

"I'm not sure if they are going to move here, baby. But they're more than welcome to if that's what they want. And your cousins can come visit and stay here too."

"That would be so much fun, mommy! Why doesn't momma know though?"

"It's a surprise for her baby, only you and uncle Hotch know."

"I'm so excited," Amelia said, yawning.

"Can we get you snuggled back under the covers?" Amelia nodded and Emily started singing the Italian lullaby. Amelia was asleep by the time Emily tucked her in and with a kiss goodnight, she went downstairs and into her office.

She walked right past JJ and Hotch who were sitting at the kitchen table talking not even realizing they were down there. Her mind started racing the second she left Amelia's bedroom; she was worried about her daughter and blamed herself.

Jason Anderson was watching the monitors intently; he couldn't tell exactly what was going on in the Prentiss household, but it was obvious the blonde was upset and the brunette man was trying to comfort her.

He watched the brunette bitch walk into the office, close the doors and burst into tears. Leaning forward in his chair he tried to make out what was happening. He wished he had audio on his cameras and would definitely have to remedy that on his return trip.

He was missing so much by not being able to hear what was spoken about. Why is she being comforted by the bitches brother? Why are they both upset? Who is the brunette on the phone with?

Emily had called the only person she knew would be logical in the moment: David Rossi.

"Bella is everything okay? What happened?"

"Amelia had a nightmare and she asked if someone was going to hurt her. I finally got her back to sleep, but I can't shut off my mind. How can I do this? I know as much as anyone this son of a bitch needs to be caught, but there's this nagging part of me that thinks I'm only harming my children."

"Emily, you're protecting your children. You know that deep down and you will keep them safe, you always do."

"I don't want them to be here, Dave. I want to send the girls and JJ home and catch this monster by myself. I can't risk Amelia's health any more than I already have."

"I hear you, Emily. I do. How about I talk with the team and see what we can figure out? I'm sure there is something we can do. I love you, you know that right?"

Emily's tears kept streaming, "I love you too, and thank you Dave."

Jason Anderson saw the tickets the brunette had in her hand and was very confused…four tickets? Is she sending the family out of town? No! She can't do that. He'd had to change his timeframe though he wasn't prepared to accelerate.

He needed more time to be sure they were truly worthy. If they left town before he had time to make them his, he'd have to start over again and he just knew they'd be the ones. He would finally be able to finish his collection, be able to exorcise his wife permanently. He needed Emily and Jennifer, no matter what, he needed to make sure they stayed right where he wanted them.

Emily was holding the tickets to Disney World she had purchased, looking at them and thinking about a happier time where her girls were safe and smiling. She was only holding four tickets because Lily didn't need one, she was still under the age of requiring admission.

Knowing passes allowed date changes, Emily purchased them to surprise the girls when the case was over; but thinking more and more about what was happening, she knew she needed to get the girls out of there.

Maybe I can send them to Disney now and meet them later? No, I need to be close by. They can go stay with my parents. Yes, that works.

The Prentiss family had been in their new house for almost two weeks and Hotch had been there for five days now. The morning after Amelia's nightmare, Emily had come up with the perfect plan to protect her girls and her wife. She had run everything over with Rossi then sat down and discussed it with Hotch who had agreed.

They were going to be escorted to the elder Prentiss residence and stay there knowing her parents property had plenty of things to keep the girls busy and safe, she felt comfortable with the decision. Hotch was going to leave today JJ and the girls on Friday so the unsub would think they were heading out of town for the weekend.

Gerald had offered their house to the team as well so they could all be there with the girls and conference with Emily and JJ easily. Emily had also filled her father in regarding the new Jareau house; when everything was nearing the end, he would call the Jareau's so they could come visit the Prentiss's but in reality they'd be shown their new house.

Although reluctant, JJ decided to take the girls and after a tearful goodbye, her family pulled out of the driveway. Emily was left in the house alone and praying Amelia didn't have a nightmare while she wasn't there. She'd never been away from her before, even sleepovers were at the Prentiss residence because Amelia wasn't ready yet.

She was also never comforted by JJ when she had a nightmare, it was always Emily. Luckily, Amelia didn't seem to process the fact her mother wasn't going to be there at bedtime, at least not yet. She decided to use the time and do some grocery shopping so when the Jareau's showed up there would be plenty of food.

That night, Emily tried to sleep but something felt off. There was a nagging feeling in her stomach like something bad was going to happen. Just then her phone rang, "Jen what's wrong?"

"Emmy, Amelia is having a nightmare and Jennifer is having a hard time calming her down, can you help?" Gerald's voice came through the phone.

"Daddy give the phone to Jen," he followed her orders and handed the phone to his wife who brought it to JJ as to not scare Amelia even more.

"Babe, please you have to help. I've tried to wake her for the past fifteen minutes," JJ said, sounding frantic.

She could barely make out what JJ was saying over Amelia's screaming, "Put the phone on speaker."

"Done."

"Amelia baby, open your eyes beautiful girl. You're safe, mommy's here, open your eyes sweet girl. Momma's got you, mommy's here. Amelia wake up baby."

Amelia opened her eyes and found JJ holding her slowly rocking back and forth to soothe her, "Where's mommy?" she cried.

Emily's voice came through the phone, "I'm right here baby, Jen switch it to FaceTime." A few seconds later Amelia could see her mother, "I'm here baby. Momma's got you, you're safe."

"Can you sing to me mommy?"

"I'd love to baby." Halfway through the song Amelia was sound asleep in JJ's arms, "Sleep well beautiful, I love you."

"Thank you, Em. Oh god, that was almost as bad as Oakley's episodes. Your parents tried to help me, but nothing was working. Your dad grabbed my phone and said to call you. I'm so glad he thought of that, I was—"

"Jen, it's okay. Stay in bed with her tonight, our daughter needs you."

"I love you, Em. Be safe."

"I love you too."

After a long debate with Emily and the rest of the team, JJ and the team took the girls out for a day of fun, security details in tow. They had a blast at the trampoline park, went out for lunch and ice cream, then painted some pottery pieces.

"Can we call mommy and show her? I want her to see the plate I painted; do you think she'll like it?" Amelia asked.

"I think she'll love it babe. How about you go show grandma and grandpa first and I'll get mommy on the phone okay?" She smiled watching her daughter skip off into the kitchen and picked up the phone. JJ ran into the kitchen and signaled to the team to meet her in the dining room where they had been meeting to discuss the case. They each made their exit and left the girls to get a snack with their grandparents.

"Em isn't answering her phone, can you track her? I spoke with her this morning with the girls, she always answers."

"Okay gumdrop, give me a second, we will find out." Garcia scanned her PC, her frown mirroring JJ's when she saw the GPS location of Emily's phone. Her fingers flew over the keys as she scanned file after file, "Oh god, oh god, no," she exclaimed, looking at JJ in horror. "He's got her, Anderson has our princess."

"How the hell did this happen? Why was nobody watching the feeds, I thought someone was always going to be watching? What the—how did, my daughters need their mother, I need my wife! I can't do this without her. What the fuck happened to her security detail?"

Rossi perked up at the word detail knowing Emily had assigned them all to the girls and JJ instead of watching her. She knew just like the elder Prentiss' Emily could shake a detail if she wanted to and she was adamant her family had them instead.

Tara and Reid tried to comfort JJ, but nothing seemed to work, she was hysterical. I can't lose her, I can't do this, my girls need her, I need her, this can't be happening.

"JJ you need to take some deep breaths, your girls are in the other room, you don't want them to see you like this."

"Oh god, someone needs to go occupy them, Amelia is going to be asking where Emily is."

JJ dropped to her knees, both Tara and Reid bending down to pick her up and get her into a chair. "We're going to find her, JJ. But we can't do that if we're worrying about you." Reid said, sternly. He hated being mean to JJ, but it was true.

"You're right, you're right," JJ said, wiping the tears from her face. "What do we have?"

Rossi came up behind Garcia looking over her shoulder at the video feed she was reviewing, "Back that up again."

Garcia ran the feed backwards as Rossi motioned Hotch to watch as well, "He took her from the house this morning; it's hard to see, but I think she's wearing her clutch piece." Rossi pointed to the screen, "Can you enhance that?"

"Yes sir, give me a second," Garcia replied, concentrating on pulling the view of Emily's right ankle into tighter focus.

Hotch slapped Rossi on the back, "You're right Dave, good eye."

"Agent Hotchner," Elizabeth joined the conversation, her face paler than normal; he laid a hand gently on her shoulder. "What are you doing to get my daughter back?"

He included the entire team in his response to Elizabeth, "We're going to get her back, mark my words. Your grandchildren aren't going to lose their other mother."

"I'm counting on it, Agent Hotchner," she replied, turning away quickly to hide the tears in her eyes until JJ came over and hugged her then the tears fell freely.

"My girls need their mommy, they depend on her—you saw Amelia last night, within seconds of hearing Emily's voice she calmed down."

"You and your team will get her back, dear." Elizabeth said, staring at Hotch with a knowing look. She could see he was emotional even though the team would never pick up on it.

He'd been sitting in the van for hours watching the video stream from within the house; he'd seen Emily eating breakfast, working in the office, talking on the phone and then walking the grounds. When she left the house, he knew he'd only have a few minutes to get inside before she came back.

Once inside, he raced through the rooms making sure there was no one else in the house. He had seen Emily's brother leave and a few days later he saw the blonde leave with the girls—from the amount of bags they'd taken, he wasn't sure they would be coming back. He needed to know where they were and why she'd left. If they had split up, his plan would be ruined; he would have to start over, he would make Emily pay for that.

Satisfied he was alone in the house and no one would interfere with his plans, he excited the home. Once inside the van again he scrolled through the video feeds watching as Emily made her way back to the house. When she was inside, he drove up to the gate and rang the buzzer.

When Emily answered he put his plan in motion. "Ms. Prentiss? This is Jason Anderson from All in One Alarms, I have the new keypad you ordered if this is a good time to do the install."

She buzzed him through just as he knew she would and met him in the driveway.

"Jason, I appreciate the quick turnaround. I was afraid it would take a while to get this installed." She smiled politely, trying her best not to think about the cameras installed in the private areas of her home.

Jason tried to control his rising excitement. He couldn't afford for her to see how just being close to his target made him flush. "Anytime, Ms. Prentiss. We aim to please and a satisfied customer brings in more business right?"

"That you are, Jason and please, call me Emily."

"Sorry, I always forget that, Emily." He smiled and made polite conversation as he installed the new keypad. "Now, you'll just need to set your pin number and we'll be all done here. Is Jennifer home? We'll need to program in hers as well."

Emily saw the question for what it was, he needed to know where JJ had gone and when she'd be back but she planned to make him fish for the information, "No, she and the girls aren't home right now."

He tried to sound nonchalant hoping she wouldn't clam up on him when he needed to know where the blonde had gone and if she'd be back, "Taking a trip to Disney World maybe?"

Emily caught onto what he was doing, she shook her head and shoved her hands into the pockets of her jeans, "No, we're taking a little break?" She frowned, while rolling her eyes internally—this idiot thinks he's all that.

He nodded sympathetically, "I'm sorry to hear that. Will she be back soon?" If she was coming back he could wait, but if not he was going to change things up a little. He didn't like to wing it, but if he had to, he would. He wasn't letting Emily get away from him no matter what it took.

She shrugged, keeping her hands in her pockets. Her fingers wrapped around the phone inside. If he decided to make his move, she knew Garcia was just one speed dial button away from sending in the cavalry. "We're still working it out, but she may not be back."

He was startled by her response and tried unsuccessfully to hide it, but he knew she'd seen the look on his face. "I'm sorry to be so shocked, it seemed like you had such a good marriage. Why would she leave you?"

Emily did a little dance for joy inside, she had him and she knew it. She just needed to reel him in a little more. She knew JJ and Hotch would be furious with her for baiting him, but she needed to get home to her girls. She knew she was only escalating him further and knew he'd make a move.

Thinking fast, Emily already hated herself, "I work too much and should be more attentive to her and our girls. I just wanted to give them the best life so I'm surprising them all today with a trip to prove how much I've changed."

"Well, I'm really sorry to hear that, Emily. I had hoped to see Jennifer today."

Emily was processing his response, did he even listen to what I just said? What's his excuse for wanting to see my wife? She focused back and asked, "Why's that?"

"She's just so sweet; I liked being around her," he quickly covered, hoping Emily didn't ask any more questions. He really wanted Jennifer there so he could finish his plan. He needed both of them there to carry out his mission, having only Emily wouldn't complete the picture.

Emily frowned at his words and the look on his face, he was like a kid trying to hide something. Only, she knew what he was hiding. She could tell from his behavior he was escalating and not having JJ there was impacting his plans. "Yes, she is. I miss her terribly. Are you done here?"

"I need to check the other keypads so I can sync them to the new one here. And like I said, Jennifer will need to add in her own code. I can come back out for that. Do you know when she'll be back?"

Emily now knew he wasn't listening to a word she said, "Probably weeks from now if she comes back at all. I'm most likely going to stay another week or so then close up and go stay with my brother. If she decides to leave me, we'll need to file for divorce then divide property and such."

As he put the tools back in his toolbox, he drew the pistol he had hidden inside and pointed it at Emily's head, "I'm really sorry to hear that, Emily. It really fucks up my plans. Now, be a good girl and take your hands out of your pockets nice and slow." He gestured with the gun for her to remove her hands, "You can go ahead and toss the cell phone to the ground too, you won't be making any calls."

When she tossed the phone, he motioned once again, "Now put your hands behind your head just like on those cop shows." When her hands were in place, he took a pair of handcuffs from his back pocket and secured them around her wrists.

She tried to act scared knowing he'd need to feel in control, "Why are you doing this, Jason?

"Because you fucking dykes couldn't keep your shit together, that's why!" He shouted in her face angrily, "I needed you and Jennifer together, but you've gone and ruined everything. So now I have to change things, I don't like changing things!" He screamed, waving the gun around wildly, making her duck when he pointed it in her direction once again. "Here's what you're going to do. You're coming back to my house and if you make any noise or put up a fuss, I'm going to shoot you? Understand?"

"Yes, please don't shoot me Jason!" Emily's voice quavered just enough to make him believe she was scared, "I promise I won't do anything."

Pushing her roughly ahead of him, he shoved her into the back of the van sitting her down on the floor he secured her hands with cable ties through the handcuffs to the racks lining the inside. Once secured, he caressed the side of her face with the gun giving her a little tap with it when she flinched. "Now you remember our agreement Emily, you stay very quiet and I won't shoot you."

She nodded, glad that he hadn't secured her ankles knowing if he had then her backup piece would be in his hands and she'd most likely have a bullet or two in her. "I'll be very quiet, Jason."

He patted her head like a puppy and smiled though no warmth showed through, "Good girl, you behave and soon this will all be over." Stepping back, he slammed the door and pulled away from the house being extra careful to mind speed limits and stop signs until he reached his house.

Opening the back doors, he used his pocketknife to cut the cable tie holding Emily in place and helped her stand. He led her through the house and directly into the basement, sitting her in a straight-backed wooden chair. She saw the inside of his house and hadn't failed to notice the jars of hearts on the mantle nor their viewing angle from the only chair in the room. She could imagine him sitting there in that worn out recliner just staring at his collections.

Turning a second identical chair around, he sat in front of her idly holding the pistol in his hand, occasionally pointing it in her direction as he corralled his thoughts. "I want to know about you and Jennifer. How did you meet? When did you get married? Why do all the children look like you and not her?"

Emily knew she needed to buy time, she hadn't expected him to remove her from her house so she'd need to give the team time to miss her and begin the search. Settling as comfortably as possible in the chair, she began to tell their cover story.

"I met Jennifer at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. At the time, she was teaching in Pennsylvania and had come to New York on a field trip with her students. I first noticed her in front of the Monet exhibit, and I thought she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. I saw her several more times throughout the day and I just had to meet her." Emily thought back to when she had actually met JJ and let her face show the emotions the memory surfaced in her.

"She was standing at the refreshment counter, and I took a chance introducing myself. She was warm and friendly and we stood talking for a while when I finally got up the nerve to ask her out. She said no," Emily laughed for effect. "She told me she was only in town overnight and she would be going back to Pennsylvania in the morning. Well, I'm not one to take no for an answer, so I asked for her phone number and we started talking on the phone daily. After about a week I needed to see her again so I chartered a plane and flew down. I had only planned to stay the weekend but ended up staying almost two weeks. By the end of that time, I knew I wanted to see more of her," Emily paused and cleared her throat, "Can I have a drink of water, please?"

He shook his head, "Finish the story then we'll see about a drink."

She cleared her throat again, "A few weeks after I left, we made plans for her to come to New York for summer break. We still talked daily on the phone during her class breaks and every night. When she came to New York for those two months we began to fall in love. We knew we belonged together and made plans for her to come back for spring break. By the time Christmas break rolled around, we were head over heels and planning to marry. After spending those two weeks together, I asked her to marry me and she said yes. She went back to Pennsylvania and quit her job and we got married right away."

His face was a mask of anger as she trailed off again, "You left out the part about those girls you have. Where do they fit in? Why do they only look like you?"

Emily knew from her last conversation with Garcia that his wife had left him for another woman and while they hadn't specifically planned a back story for their girls, she felt confident she could come up with something that would strike a nerve. "When I met Jennifer, I already had my two oldest—Jennifer had come from a family that accepted her being a lesbian, but mine wasn't so welcoming. I was in a long-term relationship with the girl's father when we met and kept it up until we were married and I found out I was pregnant again."

"You were sleeping with him the whole time she was fucking you?"

Emily wanted to keep his anger up so she continued to bait him. "She didn't know and neither did he. But I loved her and when I found out I was pregnant, I told her I'd keep it from him. We were going to be a family and she was already so amazing with my other girls—it worked out, kind-of. We argued for a while, but eventually she came to see it my way. Long story short, we moved to Fairfax where he couldn't find us and I had our daughter. My ex thought the same way my parents did, hated lesbians and fought me for custody but had nothing to show for it. We have more to provide our girls than their sperm donor." Emily hated herself for creating this story but knew it was exactly what he needed to hear not to mention the fact none of it was true.

As she finished, he stood up and walked over to her leaning down so he was right in her face, "You had no right to ruin their life and separate them from their father to fulfil your filthy lesbian fantasies. You're subjecting your kids to that kind of indecency."

Emily looked into his eyes seeing the hatred reflected back, "You sound like you speak from experience, Jason. Lose your girl to a filthy lesbian?"

The backhand was expected and she braced herself for it the best she could, nonetheless it still hurt. Spitting blood from the cut inside her mouth onto the bare concrete floor, she then faced him again. "Does that make you feel like a man, hitting a helpless woman. Why don't you uncuff me and we'll see who the better man really is?"

He doubled up his fist and punched her in the stomach causing her to slump over in the chair. "You leave my wife out of this, bitch! If it weren't for a dyke like you, she'd be here where she belongs!" His anger drove him to new heights, and he couldn't stop hitting her over and over.

Emily couldn't speak from the repeated blows he rained down on her, she had barely struggled to remain conscious until he wore himself out and left her tied to the chair. Once she knew he was gone, she took stock of her injuries: broken or badly bruised ribs and a concussion from being hit in the head with the pistol…great.

When all she heard in the house above her was silence, she allowed herself to sleep a little. She knew, depending on how much fun her family was having, it would be awhile until they would know she was missing and come looking for her. What she didn't know was they were already actively working to find her. All she had to do was hold on a little longer. Thinking about her girls and JJ, she drifted off.
