(Three Months Later)
Between Kenji, Yoshi, and Nobuko, they had concocted a story of how Kun, Jae, Neph, and Zoi had been kidnapped and how they had gotten away. They found it was easier sticking closer to the truth, but enough of fib that it didn't sound farfetched. It was a good enough story that nobody would question it.
Curiously enough, it helped that Kenji was a respected magazine editor at a respected magazine who wrote the breaking story himself. When his higher ups had asked him why he didn't just pass it off to one of his journalists, he told them he felt he needed to keep his hand in on writing stories on occasion. It had made sense to them as he had done so in the past, and the story had made some headlines. They made it go away faster as Jae, Neph, Zoi, and their parents refused to comment and be interviewed. The only reason why Kun and his parents had done so was because it would look suspicious if the detectives who "solved" the case and their son didn't do some interview.
However, with Jae, since he decided to continue with his music career with his band, he informed the band's manager that whenever he was interviewed, he wouldn't answer any questions about his disappearance and kidnapping. The manager had told him it's not possible to derail all journalists and tv hosts; however, he did tell him that he won't comment on it as he wants to move on. However, when the band manager found out about his relationship with Rei, he told Jae she would be a great distraction. After a conversation with Rei, he informed his manager she wouldn't be doing any interviews, but she would be available for any event as long as it doesn't collide with her school schedule. The month since Desolation had been going the rounds before the start of their tour for their new album (thanks to mostly Jae because of all of what he had been through), it seemed to have worked as they were more interested in his relationship with Rei than his disappearance and kidnapping.
Even though Jae wanted to continue his music, the others wanted to continue their schooling. Since Mamoru and Kun had disappeared just before finals week, K.O. University had allowed them to take the finals they needed to take without having to retake their courses. The university would have normally made them retake their classes, but since it was such an extraordinary circumstance, they figured it was the best course of action after speaking with their professors who knew their students would pass all their finals. However, with Neph and Zoi, they weren't so lucky. They had to repeat their year over, even though both Reina and Kenta had both fought it to no avail. They were told if they were able to keep up their grades, they may be able to graduate on time.
On the first day of Desolations tour, they were performing in Tokyo, and Jae made sure there were tickets for Rei, their friends, and also, to Jae's surprise, his parents. He supposed they wanted to try to understand him, to let him be him; he knew it helped that they liked Rei.
While Desolation was finishing up practice, Rei, their friends, and his parents had arrived, and they had been designated a room for them to go. Food and drinks had been provided to him. Conversations were going around.
When Jae came into the room and zeroed in on Rei, the stress of the day washed away as he walked to her. He took her face in his hands, and when she was about to greet him, he leaned and kissed her sweetly. When he lifted his head, he smiled . "Are you okay?" Rei asked him.
"I am now," Jae said and kissed her forehead. "Seeing you has steady me."
"Ready for tonight?" Mamoru asked him. He also had Usagi in his arms who stood comfortably in his arms. Since the defeat of the Dark Kingdom, they're relationship took some time for them to just be normal mostly because of the Prince Endymion and Princess Serenity parts of the wouldn't stay quiet, especially when they were arguing. They had both found that they were the source of their arguments, and they had told that part of themselves they had their chance; it was their turn. They wanted each other. They weren't happy, but they had backed off which made their relationship stronger.
"More than," Jae said. "But having all of you here to support me, I don't have the words to tell you."
"We do have an idea," Makoto said. She stood beside Neph and held his hands. Over the last few months, she had gotten used to Reina, and they have a family dinner of sorts on Sundays. They would hang out together to study and go on dates among other things.
"Maybe more than you think," Kun told him. He had his arms around Minako. They were still sneaking to be together, but they still took their duties and school seriously. At least, he did and gently pushed her to do the same. It drove her crazy, but she found she didn't want to disappoint him or herself.
"They're right," Genko told him as she walked over to her son. "I am proud of you." She smiled at him. "Of who you are and who you've become, especially with these people in your life." She laid her hand on his cheek. "It seemed like you had been missing pieces of yourself, but since you've had these people in your life, you found those missing pieces."
"I love you, Mom," Jae told her. "If you hadn't believed in me, none of this would be possible."
Genko gave him a soft smile. "You believed in yourself first, and you also have a support system too."
"So don't be afraid to use us," Usagi told him. She looked over at everyone. "That goes for everyone here."
At that moment, the band manager popped his head in. "Jae, they need you in makeup," he told him.
"Thanks," Jae said right before the manager closed the door. "You guys can stay here before we come on or you can go out there to listen to our opening acts. Up to you." However, he looked over at Rei. "Do you want to come with me?" He offered her his hand.
Rei looked over at their friends and noticed Usagi's reaction which made them smile. "Yeah," she said and took the hand he offered. "Always."
Jae smiled as he wrapped his arm around her and led her out of the room.

Later, after the concert, Mamoru had brought Usagi to his apartment. They stood outside on the balcony looking over the city. He had his arms wrapped around her as they looked over.
These were the moments that Usagi loved most. She loved it when it was just the two of them. Of course, she loved their friends, but she loved when she had some alone time with Mamoru.
"I wouldn't trade you for anyone," Mamoru told her. "In this life, in our last life, in our next life, I will always choose you. You're the one I want for all time."
Usagi turned his arms to lay her hands on his chest. "Same here," she said. "I'm just glad we don't have to worry about Beryl, Metalia, and the Dark Kingdom anymore."
"Me, too," Mamoru said. "As long as we don't have to worry about any more enemies, we'll be alright."
"Mamo, don't even joke about that," Usagi said.
Mamoru chuckled and leaned down to kiss her. "I love you," he told her.
"I love you, too," Usagi said. She was pleased he has been more open with her and with their friends. She knew they were going to be okay, and she knew their love would always live on.
