If there was one thing JJ knew about her wife, it was the fact she'd always do everything and anything to protect her family without question. JJ was horrified when Emily told her what Oakley had said, not knowing what they were going to do. Because Tyler had been expelled for his behavior, the family decided to pull Tori as well so their children would be at the same school once again which meant Oliver and Oakley were now safe from harms way. Well, besides the harm already caused to poor Oliver.

Emily and JJ sat the kids down all together and had a family discussion about bullying—they also tried to explain what a gut feeling was or the sense you get when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Amelia and Oliver understood, however, Oakley and Lily were a bit confused, rightfully so.

Emily knew she got through to the littles though because unfortunately, Oakley had already experienced bullying—Lily was the child Emily could read best something she assumed was because she's raised her since birth. The mothers told the children to always come to them if they ever felt scared, sad, angry, confused, etc by anything that happens in or out of school—also, if they didn't feel comfortable coming to them, to go to any other adult they felt comfortable with or their siblings.

Thankfully their children felt comfortable with them regarding everything, Emily and JJ did want to make it known they can always go to each other or anyone else in their family as well though. Amelia and Oliver now knew to always go to their mothers—the mothers just wished they felt comfortable before hands were put on them however, they understood why due to how they were raised.

After the family discussion the mothers pulled Oliver and Oakley separately to deliver the news they had. Oliver felt very relieved Tyler would no longer be attending school however, he was even more relieved when Emily said Tori wouldn't be there either because he was really worried about Oakley. Seriously, he's the sweetest little boy.

Oakley was happy Tori wouldn't be in her class anymore and made sure to mention the fact she didn't want a black eye like her brother. Emily and JJ broke hearing how scared their little one was and reminded her once again that if something like this happened again to tell them right away.

Oakley wasn't one to ever hold back though which made the mothers feel better—Tori had only said something to Oakley once and it was yesterday. Her little mind goes so fast though that the minute she sees her siblings things vanish from her mind the minute she gets into the car after school, she only remembered when she saw Oliver's black eye.

After the family discussion, Emily and JJ surprised the kids with a day of fun to take their mind off things that aren't so pleasant. Yesterday they played hooky from work and school to monitor Oliver and to celebrate how proud they were of him for standing up for his family. Oliver knew it wasn't okay to hit someone and while the mothers weren't happy he retaliated, they were proud he didn't just take it especially because Tyler got in multiple hits and punches before he swung once.

Due to the fact he was suspended for a day, they didn't want him focusing on that so keeping the kids' home was good for everyone. Unsurprisingly, Oliver felt fine after being given some Tylenol and played with his siblings all day after sleeping in a bit later than everyone else. Well, he actually snuck in with JJ while Emily was up with everyone else—they needed the extra sleep.

While Emily was plating breakfast for everyone, JJ was lost in thought looking at their children sitting at the kitchen island. The twins, Lily and Oakley had attachable chairs because they were all so little and the mothers were nervous about them sitting on a bar stool, Oliver and Amelia were fine to sit on one though.

The kitchen island was huge which was great because so was their family. JJ was listening to the different conversations going on feeling so grateful each of her children had a buddy—there was only two years between Amelia and Oliver, the same for Oakley and Lily, then obviously the twins were a pair themselves.

"Jen?" Emily said, finally touching her shoulder as she had called her name a few times now.

"Huh?"

The kids laughed and Oliver spoke up, "You like, really spaced-out momma."

The smile on JJ's face grew in size and Emily knew whatever her wife was thinking about was something near and dear to her heart. "Sorry babies, I haven't had enough coffee yet," she winked.

"Dats the two one, momma!" Lily giggled.

"You're right, this is my second cup. I think I need three today," she said forcing her eyes wide to play along with Lily.

The littles giggled and Emily smiled seeing her children so happy. Although JJ had come out of her thoughts, she couldn't help but feel so incredibly lucky for the family she and Emily had created together.

"Babies," Emily said to get the attention of everyone. "Momma and I have a surprise for you all. I—"

"Tampowine mommy?" Lily squealed.

"Are we gonna go paint?" Oakley guessed.

"What bout' pweasints?" Lily giggled.

The littles didn't comprehend dates and times the way Oliver and Amelia did, however, they knew Christmas was coming up because of the chocolate advent calendars they each had. Emily made sure the kids opened them after school because she didn't like the littles having sugar before bed and didn't want them having all that extra sugar before the start of school either.

"Christmas is a few weeks away, Lil," Amelia told her sister.

"Oh," Lily said with a dramatic sigh that made Emily and JJ laugh. The brunette wasn't entirely sure where Lily got her dramatics from because she was a very composed woman—JJ though, she wears her emotions on her sleeve and Lily is incredibly observant.

"How about we let mommy speak that way you won't need to keep guessing," JJ suggested. It was too cute when the kids guessed though which is why Emily didn't stop them.

"I have some tickets in my pocket," Emily said, slowly reaching behind her back to grab ahold of the tickets in her jeans pocket. She smiled seeing the kids leaning forward in their seats as the anticipation set in further. "Does anyone here want to go to Legoland?" she asked.

Technically it was the Lego Discovery Center however, the kids called it Legoland—the Prentiss family has never been before, the kid's friends have though and they've asked multiple times if they could go. Because Oliver wasn't showing any lingering effects of his concussion, the mothers decided it would be a great surprise for all of them. The number of legos they had in the playroom was out of control seeing as the age range of everyone made the sets different sizes and levels of difficulty.

Emily and JJ laughed when even the twins started clapping their hands together as the others squealed and jumped up and down. The littles were still trapped in their seats so only Oliver and Amelia were able to jump around, it was evident everyone was very excited though.

"I'll take that as a yes?" Emily questioned.

"Yes, yes, yes!" the kids cheered.

It wasn't always easy to find things to do as a family because there was a ten-year age gap between their oldest and youngest. Granted, the twins were pretty easy to take everywhere because the mothers could wear them or push them in the strollers. Yes, strollers seeing as Lily still appreciated her nap time and Oakley often got tired walking so much at places like the zoo or aquarium.

Emily quickly wiped Lily and Oakley's hands then helped them out of their chairs sending them with JJ who was in charge of getting them ready for the day. Emily quickly did the dishes while trying her best to follow along with the babbling the twins were doing.

One part of the Prentiss schedule that changed was getting the twins ready for the day when Emily got herself ready. She found it was much easier to focus on the others when they were already good to go.

"Momma!" Lily screamed. "Momma, momma, momma!"

JJ ran into Lily's room and held back her laughter when she saw Lily stuck in the shirt she was attempting to put on herself. "Woah, woah, hold on bug. Let me help you."

"Me stup, momma!"

"Yes you are, Lily bug. You really got yourself stuck in here, huh? Why didn't you wait for momma?"

"Be'tause you taked a wong time," Lily said, tipping her head back causing JJ to catch the little girl. "Woahhh, me almost falled down," she giggled.

JJ finally got the shirt straightened out and saw Lily's little face pop through the head hole and smiled, "You did almost fall down, silly girl. Okay, let's find you some pants to go with your shirt."

Lily ran over to her dresser and made a signature Emily face, "Umm, me dunno momma."

"I'll help you," JJ smiled and picked out a pair of jeans for her then helped the little one into them. "All done, baby girl. Mommy will do your hair downstairs; do you want bows?"

"Yeah!" Lily screamed then went to her bow drawer, something all the girls had in their rooms.

JJ sent Lily on her way after she had bows in her hands and knew Oakley was already down there because she was the first one ready. The next to pop out was Oliver and he walked into his mother's room to try and find JJ.

"Ready, buddy?" she asked as she tucked her belt through the loop in her jeans.

"Yup, is mommy doing the girls hair?"

"Always," JJ said with a smile. She will never know why Emily became the hair master in the house seeing as JJ's hair always looked good…well, besides when she walked downstairs each morning with it all over the place. According to the girls, momma can only do ponytails.

"Can you help me, then?" Oliver asked.

"I sure can, come with me," JJ said, leading her son over to their bathroom. She used a spray bottle to wet it a bit then styled it the best she could. He had the cutest little haircut, short on the sides and long on the top so the mothers could brush it over.

"What do you think, as good as mommy or no?" JJ asked.

Oliver looked in the mirror and turned his head to the left then right to fully see it, "You're getting better, momma."

JJ wrapped him in a hug and smiled as she kissed the side of his head, "Thanks buddy. One day I'll get it."

"It looks good, it's just not the same as when mommy does it. I still like it lots though."

"You're so sweet," JJ said, twirling him around a bit. "Okay, let's go help mommy with Brooks and Brynley so she can focus on all those complicated hairstyles."

And with that, they both went back downstairs.

"Have you heard from your brothers?" Emily asked.

They were at Legoland and thankfully the Prentiss children knew to stay close to their mothers wherever they went. Emily was pushing the twins and JJ was pushing the littles double stroller which held some snacks, stuffies, blankies and the diaper bag.

"Julian's obviously coming," JJ said, although Emily already knew this because he had moved to Fairfax when the Jareau parents did. "Jacob said he needs to talk to Kristen because he isn't sure her parents would want to make the trip; Johnathan is onboard though. The kids didn't care about being home."

"I think it would be easiest for my parents to stay with us and we can let your family stay at their place that way everyone would be together."

"We have my parents house too, Em. I don't want to kick your parents out of their own home."

"Oh please, they'll be fine," Emily said with a laugh. She briefly took her eyes off the kids to look at her wife and continued. "Jen, with the amount of traveling they do, they're very used to moving around. Plus, their home can hold everyone including Kristen and Ashley's parents. They're more than welcome to stay with your parents, honey—I just figured having them all together would be more convenient."

The women stopped when the kids got up to an interactive activity they all wanted to do and JJ took the time to wrap her arms around Emily and kiss her cheek. "I love you so much. You always accommodate everyone in ways I'd never think of and make things so seamless. You're right, I'm sure the kids would love having one set of their grandparents in the same home."

Emily and JJ were avid planners. They loved their schedules, knowing where everyone would be at all times, and having some type of order in their home to counter the chaos of having six children. Christmas was in two weeks and Emily was trying to make everything as easy as possible for everyone.

Their children were beyond excited to celebrate at home, something that caused a bit of sadness for the Jareaus. Sandy and Allen could not put into words how grateful they were for Emily—because their home in Fairfax was paid off, the couple was able to keep their home in PA and travel to see their children and grandchild as much as they wanted to.

Holidays were a bit harder though because having family in two states meant missing core memories with some of them. Thanksgiving became a Prentiss holiday, the Jareau's have spent the holiday with Emily and JJ since they found out about Lily.

Emily and JJ traveled to PA for one Christmas and then their life got busy when two other little girls came into it causing them to celebrate at home instead. This year though, Emily was hoping to have everyone in Fairfax, she included everyone and was going to do everything she could to make things as easy as possible.

"We can have both our parents stay with us if you want, or I'm sure my parents would happily stay with yours. It's up to you honey, they are your family," Emily said knowing wherever she told her parents to stay would be fine by them. Surprisingly, they have become very easy going since retiring.

"Our family," JJ corrected. She knew what Emily meant though and didn't take it personally.

"MOMMY!" Lily screamed and the mothers winced at the volume.

"Lily bug, inside voice please," Emily said, walking around the stroller and towards her daughter, scooping her up in the process.

"Me wanna doe over dare, mommy," Lily pointed.

"Me too," Oakley chimed in.

Emily followed her daughter's line of sight and knew the jungle gym would only cater to the littles meaning she and JJ would be splitting up. They knew this would happen and were prepared for it.

The mothers exchanged a look and Emily nodded, "Okay bug, let's go play. Oakie-bear you're coming with me too." Emily also took the twins because she knew Oliver and Amelia were going to want to go on the big kids' rides, something the twins obviously weren't allowed on.

"You two are with me," JJ said with a smile, holding her hands out for Oliver and Amelia to take.

The second Emily said yes to the littles they were off. The toddler jungle gym was so exciting to them, it was beyond cute—they were honestly the best of friends, always holding hands wherever they went.

Emily sat down in the sitting area where she could not only keep an eye on the littles but could also feed the twins some dry cereal as they were starting to get a bit fussy.

"Which ride should we go on first?" JJ asked.

"Oliver can pick," Amelia answered.

"Umm, I'm not really sure. Which one do you think, Lia?" he asked.

JJ smiled. She loved seeing how kindhearted her kids were—even though Oakley and Lily were still young they were so sweet as well, they shared, they played together, they comforted the other if one was sad or hurt and took turns with new things. Amelia and Oliver bonded immediately as well however, their bond ran deeper because of everything they endured before becoming a Prentiss.

JJ and Emily were so happy seeing them just be kids as the houses they grew up in didn't allow that. Even though they were eleven and nine, they often played with toys their little sisters liked as well not thinking much about it. The mothers didn't care what they played with, it was just so incredible to hear their giggles and see their smiles as they had fun together.

"We can go on all of them," JJ chimed in to try and help the kids make their decision.

"Really?" Oliver asked.

"Of course we can, the only plans we have today is to have fun."

"Hello?" Emily said as she answered the phone.

"Emily dear, I was calling to check on my grandson. How is he feeling?"

"Oliver is doing well, mom."

"Emily, I can barely hear you. Where are you?"

"Legoland."

"Ahh, I see. What would you say about coming over for dinner tonight? Is Jennifer working or is she home?"

"She's home. I'll have to see how the kids are doing when we leave here though, I—"

"Don't be silly, Emily. I'll plan on seeing you all tonight."

Emily rolled her eyes and knew there was no way she would win this battle. Even though their relationship had drastically changed for the better, there were still times like this where Ambassador Prentiss came back.

"If the kids are overtired and grumpy don't blame me," Emily said.

"I will, honey. See you tonight." And with that, Elizabeth hung up with a smile on her face at her attempt at a joke. She then called the Jareau's to see if they could come as well, they had also become the best of friends.

Sandy and Allen had traveled around the world with Elizabeth and Gerald—the Jareaus quickly learned when a Prentiss wants something, they get it. Growing up blue collar was very different than the Prentiss way of living; Sandy and Allen stopped protesting the trips they've been on saying it was too much though.

JJ was quick to reassure her parents and let them know Elizabeth and Gerald wouldn't offer if they didn't want to, they were able to stay away from their daughter and granddaughter for years, so it was true—they never did anything they didn't want to. Also, owning their own jet meant they didn't pay for tickets, and they had estates everywhere they traveled so it wasn't as if they were paying for hotels either.

Emily really appreciated their friendship for other reasons though. Sandy and Allen taught her parents how to be 'normal' people, to appreciate the little things like spending one on one time with a grandchild and getting their hands dirty. It was a great relationship; the Prentiss's were able to broaden the Jareau's life experiences and the Jareau's were able to humanize the Prentiss's.

"Oh my gosh, mommy. We just went on all the rides two times each," Oliver said as he ran up to Emily.

"You did?" Emily asked with a smile now seeing Amelia standing next to him. "Which one was your favorite?"

"Umm, all of them," they said with a giggle.

"All of them?" Emily teased tickling their sides. "How about you go wrangle those crazy monkey's and we can go to the build center?"

The littles were itching to get to the build center because you were able to create your own lego set to take home with you. The first thing you do when arriving is create a lego companion that follows you through your trip and at the end, you get to pick out whatever type of world you want your companion to have.

Oliver and Amelia took off running to the littles and shared the news with them as JJ looked at Emily and asked who she was on the phone with. JJ had seen her wife rolling her eyes as she hung up the phone before the kids reached her.

"We're having dinner with my parents tonight, mother insisted."

JJ laughed at the use of mother, Emily has switched to calling Elizabeth mom most of the time unless she was annoyed or Elizabeth pulled the ambassador card again. "She didn't give you a choice, huh?"

"Not even a little bit," Emily said, shaking her head back and forth. "I'm worried about missing naptime because we're going to have a miserable little one."

"I'm sure the minute we get in the car Lily will fall asleep, babe."

"I hope you're right; I don't like when her schedule is disrupted," Emily responded.

When Lily misses her nap the mothers put her to bed early however, by doing so it also means she's up far too early the next morning—then if she has a late nap, she doesn't fall asleep until much later than her typical bedtime which isn't great either.

"Tomorrow is Saturday, so I'll be home with you," JJ said.

"Don't jinx us, babe," Emily said as she put away the dry cereal she had brought for the twins. It seemed as if anytime JJ said she'd be home there was a case.

The minute Emily put the car into park Gerald and Allen walked out the front door. "Did you know my parents were going to be here?" JJ asked.

"I did not," Emily answered.

"More hands to help," JJ said with a laugh.

Gerald and Allen walked right past their daughter and opened the backseat doors, "Hi my little pumpkins."

"Oh, we have a sleeping little one I see," Allen said seeing Lily rubbing her face against her blanket, something she's done since she was a baby. Emily wasn't really sure how Lily continued the movement when she was sound asleep however, she never questioned it after Fiona told her she did the same thing as a baby. Like mother like daughter.

Emily and JJ were lucky in the sense that their children could be as loud as they wanted to be and never woke their siblings up. Oliver, Oakley and Amelia were talking a mile a minute to their grandfathers, Amilea and Oliver ping-ponging off each other to Allen as Oakley spoke to Gerald.

Emily and JJ let their fathers get the kids out of the car, at least the big ones anyways. Amelia helped Allen unbuckle Lily's car seat and he gently scooped her up leaving the mothers with just the twins.

Emily looked over at JJ when the car was left with two of the six. "I can't even remember the last time I only had to get one child out of the car," she said unlatching Brynley's car seat.

"Me either," JJ said with a laugh as she unlatched Brooks. "It's been what, almost three years now?"

"Lily is almost 4 so three and a half," Emily corrected. "Oh my gosh, I can't believe my baby is going to be 4."

JJ leaned over and placed a kiss on Emily's cheek and then squeezed her hand in response. Elizabeth opened the door before Emily could as the mothers got to the door, "What's taking you so long?"

"Hello to you too, mother," Emily said with an eye roll as she stepped past her mother and into the house.

"Hi Elizabeth," JJ smiled.

"And who do you have here?" Elizabeth asked as she peeked into the car seat. "Oh little Brooks, how are you today?" she questioned, rubbing his cheek with her finger.

The grandparents felt a bit relieved JJ had one of each because they truly were identical—the outfits however helped them know who was who. They already got the grandchildren mixed up because there were so many of them, especially Sandy and Allen who had even more grandchildren back in PA.

"Where did Emily go?" JJ asked as she set Brooks down.

"Brynley needed to be changed," her mother answered. "I told her I'd do it but—"

"Yeah I know," JJ laughed. Emily always felt the need to change them around family whereas JJ always felt the need to have her family help.

By the time JJ turned around, Elizabeth had already unbuckled Brooks and was holding him. There was something about seeing her with a baby that always shocked the blonde—seeing her own mother with a baby seemed normal however, it was always so bizarre to see Elizabeth with one.

"She's good to see grandma now," Emily said as she walked back into the kitchen with a clean Brynley, handing her over to Sandy.

Once the baby was situated with Sandy, Emily went to check on the kids who were with her father while Allen settled Lily in the portable toddler bed her mother had purchased.

"How was Legoland, honey?" Sandy asked, kissing Brynley's hand when she waved it around in front of her face.

"It was great, the kids had an amazing time. I'd love to take them back; we spent four hours there and only made it to half the stations."

"Wow," Sandy commented. "Do they have things for all ages?"

JJ nodded as she answered, "I even had fun with a lot of it, so I'd say yes."

"Well, you are a kid at heart honey," Sandy said as Brooks started to fuss in Elizabeth's arms.

She oftentimes got nervous when any of the children fussed in her arms however, she was getting better watching what Sandy and Allen did to calm them down. Elizabeth bounced Brooks and he simmered down quickly surprising the woman as it typically took her much longer to figure out what to do.

JJ then heard ringing from one of the bags and searched her purse praying it wasn't work. "Hmm," JJ said when she saw it wasn't her phone ringing. She then searched for Emily's phone however, it wasn't in her wife's purse causing her to check the diaper bag.

By the time she found the phone it had stopped ringing, "Dammit. Hopefully they will call back."

Within seconds the phone started ringing again and JJ answered it, "Hello?"

"Hi Emily," a familiar voice said, obviously assuming she was speaking with the brunette.
