After reading the most recent MHA chapter, I felt disappointed with how they concluded Deku's character. Thus, I have decided to write my ending for Deku's character.

This is my first fanfic, so I expect there may be some mistakes. Feel free to criticize me.

I DONT OWN MHA

ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE.

It has been 5 years since the war. He is currently 22 years old, and life feels meaningless.

During graduation, he lost the last remnants of One For All. Now, he works as a teacher at U.A., using his experience and intellect to help young kids. Even though he lost his quirk, he's far from useless. He guides aspiring pro heroes using his intelligence and knowledge.

Yes he was not useless.

Just then, he saw news on the TV of Uravity, his high school girlfriend, and Ingenium, his class monitor and friend, fighting a villain and saving a group of people. They were smiling, happy, and living out their dream.

And about his old classmates..

They all became great heroes, with Bakugo and Todoroki being the most successful, and Uraraka and Iida just behind them.

After graduation, he didn't have much contact with them. They are just busy with work. It's not like they forgot about him, but sure, they didn't.

Just then, he started to tear up.

He tries to hide it, but he has been feeling worse. He accepted the fact that he will be quirkless for the rest of his life during his fight against Tenko, but still, he wanted to be a hero, damn it! He wants to save people just like All Might. He wants to make people smile just like him.

But he sacrificed his dream for a reason; he can't be acting selfish. Now, he saved the world.

But he can't help but imagine a world without quirks, a world where all humans are equal, physically at least; a world with no discrimination.

Every now and then, he ponders to himself

"Are quirks a curse or a blessing?"

Sure quirks helped humans grow technologically. It's because of quirks that humans have the technology to shoot laser beams or create rockets that are faster than the speed of light. It's because of quirks that we were able to travel to space and discover many things. Quirks played a big role in humans evolving.

But we can't deny the fact that it's because of quirks why some people with mutant quirks have to face discrimination, and we already know about quirkless people.

If you think about it, villains exist because of quirks. Some villains want money or power. Others were wronged by their family or society, so they use their quirks to kill people as a means of revenge, which is foolish.

For me, it's a mixed bag; quirks are both a curse and a blessing.

Anyway, he was overthinking again. He wiped his tears and turned off the TV. He didn't like thinking about it, but yes, he was suffering alone without his mom. He can't imagine living normally. He only has his mom now. He has no one. That puts a smile on his face. Talking about his mom, she was out buying some groceries. It's Sunday, so he decided to take a rest. He told his mom to cook katsudon, his favorite dish. He can't wait for her to come back.

On Sundays, he gets to spend some peaceful time with his mom. Just then, he heard his phone ring and picked it up. He heard a female voice through the phone.

"Hello, is this Izuku Midoriya?" asked the female voice with panic evident in her tone.

"Yes, it's Izuku. How can I help you, ma'am?" he responded, his voice filled with uncertainty. He wondered who this girl was and why her voice was full of panic.

"Sir, it's your mom. She was injured in a villain attack. Please come as soon as possible. It's a critical situation," said the voice in panic."Hello, is this Izuku Midoriya?" asked the female voice with panic evident in her tone.

"Yes, it's Izuku. How can I help you, ma'am?" he responded, his voice filled with uncertainty. He wondered who this girl was and why her voice was full of panic.

"Sir, it's your mom. She was injured in a villain attack. Please come as soon as possible. It's a critical situation," said the voice in panic.

The moment he heard that, his mind went blank and he dropped his phone.

A villain attack on his mom? But why? Is it one of those League of Villains members? Yes, the League ended when he defeated Tenko, but there were still some small members after him. It is common knowledge that Deku, aka Midoriya Izuku, was the 9th holder of One For All and defeated Shigaraki.

There were some attacks after the war, but he defeated most of them easily. It's been 4 years since the last attack. He thought they had given up.

But it's not the time to think; he has to rush over to the hospital. He picked up the phone and screamed, "Hello, what hospital are you calling from?"

As soon as he heard the name of the hospital, he rushed to his car and sped off at full speed. It wasn't that far, only a 10-minute drive.

He has to go check up on his mom.

He reached the hospital and rushed inside. The moment he entered, he saw people standing. One of them rushed towards him with a disappointed look on his face.

"Sir Deku, we are sorry. Your mother couldn't survive," as soon as he heard that, his world was destroyed. He didn't cry; he just stood there. He could hear the doctor speaking, but he didn't bother to listen.

"Where is her body?" I said. My voice was cracking a bit.

"Here, sir," he guided me to the room where my mother's body was kept.

As soon as I saw her, my whole life was shattered. The lifeless look on her face broke me. There was a gaping hole in her chest, and her eyes were still open.

I held her lifeless body and hugged her tightly, my shaking body filled with tears, wondering why this always happens to me.

I held her lifeless body tightly and closed my eyes...
