What happens when prophecy is broken? Percy takes the sky from Artemis during the fight with Atlas, but things don't go according to plan. When Artemis flees, she leaves Percy behind. Atlas marches on Olympus, threatening to destroy the gods and the entire moral world. Kronos, believing himself victorious, leaves Percy to suffer. He should have died. He didn't.

31. A Quick Update

Hello all!

I have another slightly misfortunate update for you all. Chapter 31 of Bearer of the Sky was scheduled to release today, but I'm sorry to announce that it will be slightly delayed. Only until August 25, fortunately (That is a SUNDAY, you will note, since I will be away from home the day before). At that point, we should return to regular, biweekly, Saturday postings for the foreseeable future.

I wish I could chalk it up to some outside influence, but the simple fact is that I've been editing the chapter over the past few days and simply don't believe it is up to my usual quality standard. I'm not sure why, but this one in particular has been giving me fits recently. Something about the pacing, the dialogue, whatever. It just doesn't feel quite right yet.

In the past, I let my strict weekly/biweekly schedule bulldoze over such concerns. I fear that made parts of the middle arc . . . drag a bit. This time, though, I'm determined to give it a bit of extra thought to get it right. I hope that, next week, the version of this chapter you see will be worth the extra wait. This chapter will be deleted that same day, which I have been informed deletes any comments left on it. So leave those at your own risk.
