Chapter 20: Lana & Tigress's Wedding

Even though I am back home with my dad and the rest of my family, I haven't been the same. I have nightmares every night about Tai Lung abusing me. I'm often paranoid. I've been living in the Jade Palace with my dad and the Five to help me feel safe. They keep assuring me that Tai Lung is gone, and I don't need to worry anymore but paranoia takes over me.

I haven't told them what Tai Lung did to me when I was being held captive. I wanted to tell them, but it was too hard for me to talk about. I don't want to relive it.

My cuts on my body are slowly starting to heal but the scars will always be there. I sat at the dinner table with everyone when it was time for dinner. I took my seat next to Po and Tigress.

Tigress looked at me with concern as I was not eating. Sometimes I don't feel like eating.

"Lana? Are you okay?" Tigress asked.

"Yeah... I'm fine." I said. I lied because I didn't want her to worry.

"You don't look okay," Po said. I sighed in annoyance.

"I don't want you guys to worry about me. You've worried about me enough these past few years." I said.

"You're my daughter, of course, I worry," Po said.

"Hey, you've never told us what happened when Tai Lung was holding you captive," Mantis said.

"Yeah, Lana. What did happen to you?" Viper asked. I looked at Tigress for support who nodded at me. I held onto her hand tightly.

I took a deep breath and started explaining about my experience. "Tai Lung has been cruel to me. He... he forced me to do sexual things with him without my consent... and... some nights he raped me."

"He did what?!" Tigress yelled angrily, making me jump a bit. Gasps of horror filled the room.

"Please, just listen," I said. I took a moment before continuing to speak. "He would beat me whenever he was angry. Tai Lung also whipped me when I broke the rules."

I showed them the scars on my body where Tai Lung whipped me. "I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that," Po said with sympathy in his eyes.

"I'm sorry too." I heard a new voice say. I looked in front of me and saw Shifu standing in the doorway. "I'm sorry. I should have done more to protect you."

"It's okay, Daddy. You did everything you could. He was too powerful." I said. I continued to eat my dinner in silence, with the Five offering me sympathy and comfort. When I was finished eating, I needed to be alone for a while so I went to my room. I tried to watch an Avengers movie to take my mind off of things, but I had trouble concentrating.

I decided to just turn off the TV and go to sleep. I had trouble sleeping too. I needed some air. I went outside and sat under the Sacred Peach Tree. I cried to myself for a bit. I hate Tai Lung for doing all those things to me.

"Trouble sleeping?" I heard a voice from behind me. I looked behind me to see Tigress walking up to me.

"Yeah," I said. Tigress took a seat next to me.

"I'm sorry I couldn't do more to protect you too," Tigress said.

"It's not your fault, Tigress," I said. I rested my head on Tigress. We stayed like this for a bit. After sitting in silence for a while, Tigress spoke up.

"Lana, I've been meaning to tell you something." She said.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I've been having feelings for you for a while now," Tigress said. My face turned bright red, and my heart stopped.

"Yeah? What do you mean?" I asked.

Tigress took a deep breath. "I mean I love you. I've been wanting to tell you, but I couldn't because you were away." She said.

"Tigress, I... I love you too." I said. "I've been wanting to tell you, too."

Tigress smiled at me. We stood up and hugged each other tightly. Then, for the first time, we kissed. This was not like any of the kisses Tai Lung had given me. The kiss was filled with love, and not forced. I enjoyed this kiss. When we pulled apart, Tigress pulled out a small box. When she got down on one knee and opened the box revealing a ring, I gasped.

"Lana? Will you marry me?" Tigress asked me.

"Yes! Yes!" I screamed happily. Happy tears were streaming down my face. Tigress put the ring on my finger. She stood up and we hugged again.

Tigress and I have finally come out to each other. I am getting married, this time out of love.

I couldn't stop looking at the ring on my finger the next day. I am excited that Tigress and I are getting married. But first, I needed to tell my dad's first.

"Dad, Dad!" I shouted, running up to Po and Mr. Ping when I got to the restaurant.

"What is it, Lana?" Mr. Ping asked me.

"Last night, Tigress proposed to me! We are getting married!" I shouted happily. There was an intense moment of silence.

"What?!" Both of them shouted.

"Oh no, I am not letting my daughter get married again! Not after the previous marriage!" Mr. Ping shouted.

"But Dad, please!" I pleaded with him, hoping he would listen to reason. I looked at Po, hoping for some support.

"Whatever makes you happy, Lana," Po said.

"Thanks," I said.

"My answer is still no." Mr. Ping said.

"Come on Dad, let her have this. Tigress is not anything like Tai Lung." Po said.

"Yeah!" I said.

"I said no, and that is final!" Mr. Ping shouted.

"You ruin everything!" I yelled at him. There was silence as I stormed off to my room, slamming the door behind me. I cried to myself. Why couldn't my dad let me have this? Tai Lung would never let me have anything in my life. Now Mr. Ping won't let me get married. It feels like I am being controlled all over again.

After some time, I heard a knock on my door. I angrily pulled my blankets away. "Go away," I said.

"Lana? It's just me." I heard Po's voice through the door. I sighed and let him in. Po sat down next to me on the bed.

"Did you talk to him, Dad?" I asked.

"Yeah. Dad hesitantly agreed to let you get married. Congrats by the way." Po said.

"Thanks, Dad," I said. I hugged Po, and he hugged me back. "Now I need to get Shifu's approval," I said, nervously.

"Don't worry, I'm sure he will agree. I can help you start planning for the wedding." Po said.

"Thanks," I said. I walked out of my room and made my way to the Jade Palace. I met Tigress at the front door.

"What did they say?" She asked me.

"It was hard convincing them, but they said yes," I said.

"That's good," Tigress said.

"Now we need to get Daddy's approval," I said.

"Yeah..." Tigress said nervously. I held onto Tigress's hand as we made our way over to Shifu. We broke the news to him that Tigress proposed to me and that we are getting married. Shifu was shocked at first.

"Daddy... do we have your blessing to get married?" I asked him nervously.

Shifu took a moment to think before speaking. "Yeah, you have my blessing. Just be careful, Lana." Shifu said.

Tigress shot him a glare, but I said, "You don't need to worry about me. Thanks, Daddy." I said. Shifu said nothing and walked away.

"Thank God that is over with," I said, taking a sigh of relief.

"Now we can start planning for the wedding," Tigress said. I kissed Tigress again before we made our way to the Jade Palace to plan the wedding.

The day I was waiting for was finally here. My wedding with Tigress. I eagerly put on my wedding dress which was a Sailor Moon-themed wedding dress from one of my favorite anime shows, Sailor Moon. The bottom of the dress was blue with the front of it white. The top was white, and the scarf was blue. The front and the back bow were red. I did my hair like Usagi's hair. I wore her red moon choker for my necklace and had her gloves with red bands at the end.

Po walked me down the aisle when the bells chimed. Everyone in the Vally of Peace village gasped with amazement as they looked at me, the bride. When I met Tigress at the alter, I took hold of her hands. We said our vows, then we exchanged rings.

"Do you, Tigress, take Lana to be your lawfully wedded wife? To live together in marriage? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor her, and keep her for better or worse, in sickness and health and forsaking all others, to be faithful only to her for the rest of your lives?" The priest said.

"I do," Tigress said.

"I do," I said.

"If there are any objections here today, speak now or forever hold your peace." The priest said. No one said anything. Of course, they wouldn't. They knew how much we loved each other, unlike Tai Lung.

"By the power invested in me, I pronounce you wife and wife. You may now kiss the bride." The priest said.

I wasted no time pulling Tigress into a kiss. Tigress happily returned my kiss. The kiss was soft and gentle. People cheered as we walked down the aisle.

I'm married now! I can finally be happy.
