Chapter 25: Interlude BF10 Webisodes II
In the Junkyard Zone, the Vandals were being chased by the Junkyard Dog. "Return to Vandal at once." Kalus ordered. "As you wish, fearless leader." Hatch said. "More like fraidy cat, running from that little doggy." Krocomodo said insultingly, making Sever and Griz chuckle at that. "Yeah. I guess when it comes to dealing with dogs, cats are just too chicken." Raptor said. "I can tame any beast!" Kalus exclaimed, accepting the challenge as he turned around to face the Junkyard Dog. "No! Kalus, don't!" Tigress cried.
Kalus roared as he fired several arrows and spears at the Junkyard Dog, but they just bounced off its armor. The Junkyard Dog bashed into Kalus, knocking him and his Fangore down. "Kalus!" Tigress cried. As the Junkyard Dog roared at Kalus, he spotted a steel beam and threw it at the Junkyard Dog, who caught it in his mouth and dropped it back to his feet. "Sit." Kalus said. The Junkyard Dog obeyed, sitting down. "I don't believe it." Raptor said in shock. "You should never have doubted Kalus' bravery." Hatch said as they drove up to Kalus and his new pet. "Exactly. Roll over." Kalus ordered. As the Vandals stopped their vehicles, the Junkyard Dog obeyed, rolling over…on top of the Vandals! They quickly scattered as the Junkyard Dog destroyed their vehicles. "Good doggy." Kalus said, proudly.
At the Crystal Zone, Stanford was engaged in battle with Krocomodo. "Oh, you wanna dance with me again, Croc?" Stanford asked as he and Krocomodo drove on separate sides of a fork in the road. "Then allow me to provide the tunes." Stanford activated his side speakers and blasted Krocomodo with a sonic blast. "Vandal see, Vandal do!" Krocomodo exclaimed. Just then, he unleashed his own Sonic Roar attack, nearly blasting the Reverb off the road. "Well, well, well, it looks like the luggage has got his own subwoofer." Stanford said. He fired another sonic blast, but Krocomodo dodged it and fired another Sonic Roar, shattering the road up ahead. Stanford and Krocomodo slammed on the brakes and stopped their vehicles. Krocomodo leapt out of his Riptile and fired another Sonic Roar, nearly blasting Stanford off the road. "Okay. Time to show you my greatest opus." Stanford said. He gets out of his Reverb, much to Krocomodo's confusion. He then took a deep breath and let out a Sonic Scream at the ledge under Krocomodo's feet. "Nice try." Krocomodo mocked, thinking Stanford missed. But then, the ledge started to crack apart. Krocomodo screamed as he and his Riptile fell into the seemingly bottomless abyss. "You never learned your lesson last time we tangoed, Krocky. Punishment is what you get for messing with Zodiac Scorpio." Stanford said as he hopped back in the Reverb and drove off.
In the Salt Flats, everyone was in the Mobi as Agura was going through one of her strategic lectures…again. "And don't forget, the Buster's back ramp comes in handy when-" Agura tried to explain. "When you're looking for air. Boring." Zoom interrupted. "Yeah, no offense, Agura, but we already know this stuff." Grace said. "We're using Training Day to work on teamwork." Agura said. "But talking won't help us scrap the Sark, handle the Vandals or even hammer the Dwellers." Talia said. "When are we gonna actually train?" Horace asked impatiently. "Yeah, look at Zug. He's getting so anxious, his head's about to pop off." Ivan said, gesturing to Zug shaking rapidly. "Okay. Battle Key challenge. Today's training Battle Key is…Winner Takes All!" Agura said, bringing up a pizza. The team got excited for that. Agura tossed the pizza into the Mobi's accelerator and fired it out into the canyon. "Better get it before it gets cold." She said as the pizza parachuted down into the canyon.
The team drove their vehicles out into the canyon, their sights set on the pizza box. Suddenly, Horace activated his blasters, spun the Defender around and blasted the team with multiple shots, causing them to spin out of control. "You call that teamwork, Horace?!" Vert asked in annoyance. "I understand that in battle, teamwork is paramount. But this is for PIZZA!" Horace exclaimed. "Oh, that's how it's gonna be, huh?" Olivia asked. "You want it so bad?" Vert asked, driving up to Horace and activating the Saber's chainsaw. "Here's a slice." He slashed the Defender's rear. Zoom drove past them and set his eyes on the pizza. He drove onto a rock ramp and was about to grab the pizza. "Zoom for the win." He said. But suddenly, the pizza stopped in mid-air, causing Zoom to miss his grab. As he landed, he saw that the parachute was hooked onto a ledge. "Epic fail." He said. Just then, Sherman and Spinner drove up, but their focus was on the pizza, not seeing Zoom in their way. "Hey!" Zoom exclaimed. Sherman and Spinner gasped in shock. Zoom leapt out of the way as the Buster crashed into the Chopper. The other vehicles crashed behind them. Agura and Stanford stopped as they saw what the crash wrought, a 13-car pileup. Stanford used his Sonic Jump to leap over the pileup and grabbed the pizza. "And it's Stangura for the win, luv." He said as he shared the pizza with his girlfriend. "Not what I had in mind, but it's teamwork. Thanks, Stan." Agura said as they ate the pizza, making the others groan in annoyance.
On Vandal, Sever and Krocomodo bashed into each other and prepared to spar with bō staffs. "Prepare to get hooked, Fish Breath." Krocomodo said. Sever just snarled. They started sparring while Kalus, Tigress, Hatch, Griz, Raptor and Rattlia watched. Just then, Kalus looked up at the sight of startled ravens taking off into the air. Suddenly, his crossbow disappeared. "Halt! Someone has just taken my weapon!" He exclaimed. "That means we have an intruder." Tigress said. "Oh no! It is the Spirit of the Woods!" Hatch cried with worry. "Not again." Griz groaned. "Nonsense. There's no such thing." Kalus said. "Oh, yes, my captain. He is all-knowing, all-powerful, and-" Hatch tried to say, but something snatched him. "What?! Hatch?!" Kalus asked in shock, seeing that Hatch was gone. "That was just weird." Raptor said. But then, something snatched Rattlia and Griz, pulling them into the bush. Startled, Raptor walked over to the bush and stuck his claw into it. But then, something pulled him in, making him scream. "Raptor?! Griz?! Rattlia?!" Tigress called in shock after hearing Raptor's scream. "Krocomodo, Sever, fan out and find this intruder!" Kalus ordered.
As Sever drove out into the forest, he cut a trigger-line and got hit by a log-hammer. As he was raised into the air, something pulled him out of his Water Slaughter, making him scream. Kalus and Tigress heard his scream. Krocomodo drove through another part of the forest, thinking about what Hatch said. "Spirit of the Woods. Every Vandal knows there's no such-" He tried to say, but something snatched him too, making him scream. Kalus and Tigress heard his scream and became restless. "Show yourself! Come out and fight!" Kalus exclaimed. "Do you realize who you're dealing with?!" Tigress exclaimed. Suddenly, something snatched her and pulled her into the trees, making her scream. "Tigress!" Kalus exclaimed. Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of something shiny in the trees. Just then, the Tangler and the Spine Crawler emerged from the trees and surrounded Kalus. "Kalus, you couldn't fight off a cold." Agura said. "Yeah. So, how about you just hang out?" Iguanarox asked. They activated a rope trap, sending Kalus into the air. "Thanks, guys. These will be perfect to test our new body armor." Agura said, gesturing to the countless weapons she and Iguanarox swiped from the Vandals. "Sorry to leave you hanging, old friends." Iguanarox taunted as he and Agura drove off, leaving the Vandals hanging from their traps. "I told you we shouldn't mess with the Spirit of the Woods!" Hatch cried. Kalus just growled in annoyance.
Well, how was that? Battle Force 10 continues their mini adventures as Kalus tames the Junkyard Dog, Stanford uses his new Sonic Scream, Stangura proves the value of teamwork, and Agura and Iguanarox trapped the Vandals in their own traps. And as a reminder, with this chapter done and the next chapter in Storm Hawks in progress, Slugterra, Storm Hawks and Hot Wheels Battle Force 10 will be on hiatus during Heroix Crusaders for the time being.
