Sorry I haven't updated! School was crazy and with the semester done I've been going to a lot of shows and some festivals. This chapter was hard to write, not gonna lie. But I'm glad to be back! I already have chapter 15 in the queue and partially written and stuff story boarded for the next few chapters as well. I was hoping to have this fic finished by the end of the summer if possible since I already have part of another story outlined and I want to publish it after I finish this one but I don't think that will be happening because I've been incredibly busy this summer but it is good to be back!

InuYasha led Kagome back to the hammock where they had been earlier in the night. He wasn't ready to go to bed just yet. Everyone else had gone back into their tents to sleep or in Miroku and Sango's case having sex. Which is exactly what he wanted to do with Kagome if she was willing. Which he was pretty sure she was. Once they were cuddled up in the hammock he took the blanket that they left there earlier and pulled it over them. He looked at Kagome and smiled.

"You're really something else Kagome."

"What do you mean by that?" Kagome blushed.

"I don't know. You're just amazing. You've accomplished so much since college and you are still so free spirited. You don't let anyone's judgment sway how you are and I'm just in awe. I wish I had that much freedom."

"But you do, Yash. I know you do. You are 100 percent authentic when you are with Miroku, Sango and I. Just take how you are with us and show that to the world. I've always thought you were pretty amazing."

"Sometimes I just feel like I don't belong, being a hanyou and all that."

"Don't. Don't ever think that. You are perfect as you are. I have always believed that." Kagome looked at him with sincerity in her eyes.

"Kagome..." InuYasha placed his hand on her cheek and brought her in for a kiss. As he deepened the kiss he traced his tongue on her lips. She parted her lips and he slipped his tongue in her mouth to taste her. Kagome moaned, pulling him closer so she was flush against his chest. Inuyasha slipped his hand underneath her shirt and traced his claws down her spine. With a shiver of pleasure and a moan Kagome broke the kiss and started trailing kisses down his neck. Her hands found the hem of his tshirt and she pulled it up and traced her fingers down his abs. InuYasha let out a low growl.

"Fuck Kagome..." InuYasha said breathlessly. He slid his hand down her soft skin until he found her breast. He gently grabbed her breast and squeezed. "Of course." InuYasha sat up and got out of the hammock. He picked up Kagome's hoodie and handed it to her. He then picked up his shirt, cleaned himself off and walked over to his tent to grab one of the wet wipes he had packed to get the stickiness off him. When he came back out of his tent he walked back over to the hammock to find Kagome curled up under the blanket that he had brought over earlier. Fuck, how the hell did I get so damn lucky. Why the hell did I waste time with Kikyo after that one night stand. She looks so cute.

"Hey." Kagome said as he sat back down in the hammock. "That was amazing, Yash. To be honest I was… well I am still a little bit apprehensive about what will happen after this weekend is over."

"Whadduya mean by that little Miko?"

"Well I don't want this to be just a festival hookup. But I also don't wanna think about anything but the here and now for this weekend at least." Kagome said quietly.

"Kagome…"

"You don't have to say anything right now. I just want to cuddle. If that is alright with you?"

"I wouldn't mind cuddling with you. But you should also get some sleep."

"Can we just stay here a little longer? Or do you wanna just sleep here in the hammock with me? It's nice out here."

"I'll sleep in the hammock with you if that's what you want."

"Yes. But I need my phone. It's in my tent charging. And I wanna change my shorts. Do you want me to grab yours?"

"Alright I'll be here when you get back and yeah my phone is charging. It's plugged into Miroku's Jackery next to the cooler."

Kagome gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and got up. She quickly made her way to her tent and changed into another pair of shorts and grabbed her phone off the charger. Stepping out of her tent she made her way over to where InuYasha's phone was charging and grabbed it. She glanced at it as the screen lit up when she unplugged it. She then saw a message from Kikyo that was from a few hours earlier. Ugh why is she texting him. I wish she wasn't here this weekend. I confessed to InuYasha that I want more than just this weekend and I don't want her to get her hooks back into him. He deserves better. Kagome made her way back over to the hammock and handed InuYasha his phone before getting back in and curling up into his side.

"Thanks." InuYasha took his phone and turned on the lock screen. He looked at the time it was 5:15 in the morning. He then saw the message from Kikyo. "Fuck. What does she want?" He groaned.

"Yeah I saw that when I unplugged your phone." Kagome said. "Are you gonna open it?"

"It can wait until after we've slept. I'm sure it's not important and she was probably drunk. I don't really care what she has to say to be honest. I'd much rather just be here with you." He tilted her chin up and gave her a light kiss.

Kagome let out a contented sigh and gave him a sleepy smile. She nuzzled her head into the side of his neck as he wrapped his arms around her and they both drifted off to sleep.
