Marinette smoothed her brown sweater, checking herself in the mirror before slamming her locker shut. Autumn had finally arrived, and today she was going on a date with Adrien!

"Ready to go, Marinette?" Adrien's green eyes sparkled as he came up to her locker. Adrien was wearing the blue scarf Marinette had given him for his birthday last year, but still hadn't had the courage to tell him she had made it, not his father giving it to him.

"I'm so happy its pumpkin spice season!" Marinette told Adrien, as they headed down the steps, holding hands. Adrien laughed. "Isn't there a poem about girls and spices, and that's what makes them nice?" Marinette nodded.

"It got kinda spicy at my place last night," Marinette said. "Oh? Is there something your not telling me?" "Stop it. No, Cat Noir was over for dinner and he and Papa got into a heated match with Mario Kart and Cat pouted for like an hour. He's at our place a lot," she confided. "Maybe he's lonesome and wants a friend," Adrien suggested. Marinette stopped on the sidewalk. "He has Ladybug."

"Yes, but Ladybug isn't always around, and knowing Cat, he trusts you. According to him, your his best friend." "And your not jealous? Tell me the truth." "Not in the slightest-oh, twigs and berries!"

A strong gust of wind blew up as they were talking, and yanked Adrien's scarf, and it sailed along the breeze. "After it!" Marinette yelled, and they took off, laughing.

The wind died a few moments later just as they arrived at the same time as the scarf draped itself over the nearby bush. "Got it! Ouch!" they said together, tripping and falling into the bushes.

"Your scarf sir," Marinette giggled as she draped it around her boyfriend's neck. Adrien helped her up.

"Come on, we've earned that coffee!"

The coffee shop was pleasantly warm as they sipped their pumpkin drinks and nibbled on muffins. "Adrien?" "Yes, love?" "There's something I want to tell you about your scarf." "What? Is there a bug on it?" Adrien quickly checked it over. "Don't let Ladybug catch you saying that," she joked. "But...I made you that scarf for your birthday last year." Adrien's head jerked up. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because you looked so happy when you thought your father had given you a gift. I couldn't take that away from you." Adrien's cheeks turned the color of apples. "Thanks for telling me, love. Your a really special girl, my little everyday Ladybug."

"Love you," Marinette mumbled, reaching for his hand, and squeezing tight. Little did he know she was his Ladybug, but she would be forever grateful for his gentle words when the world seemed dark.

Autumn was fast approaching, and speaking of fall, it wouldn't be long before the heroes would fall for each other, with and without the mask.
