All Mira wanted was a nice peaceful wedding. Too bad she's in Fairy Tail.
The guild was bustling with excitement, after all, it wasn't every day the master's grandson got married. To top it off he was marrying the beloved Mirajane. Decorations adorned the guild hall, with colorful banners and twinkling lights hanging from the ceiling. Tables were laden with food and drink, and the air was filled with the joyous chatter of guild members and friends. But oh boy, getting to this point was chaotic.
"No no, the food tables go over here, the drinks there, and where are the flowers?" Mirajane's voice rang out as she directed the setup, her usual calm demeanor replaced with the urgency of ensuring everything was perfect. Cana, already sipping on her second barrel of ale, chuckled as she watched the normally serene mage in full wedding planner mode.
"Relax, Mira! It's going to be great," Cana called out, raising her mug in a toast.
Elfman was busy hauling tables and chairs into position. "It's got to be manly!" he kept repeating as if that alone would ensure the success of the event.
Lisanna was arranging flowers, her face alight with happiness. "Just think, in a few hours, you'll be married!" she said, smiling at Mira.
"Cana why are you here if you're not going to help," Evergreen scolded, her hands busy with a strand of lights that seemed determined to tangle itself. "And Elfman, stop saying everything needs to be manly and actually focus on the task at hand."
"Mira let's go get you read, let everyone else worry about decorations," Lisanna said grabbing her sister's shoulders and pushing her out of the guild hall and ignoring her protests. Mira reluctantly let herself be led away to the guild's private room where she could finally take a moment to breathe.
"Are you nervous?" Lisanna asked softly as she examined the dress for any imperfections before Mira got into it.
Mira shook her head, her usual calm returning. "Not really. I'm just excited. It feels surreal that today is finally here."
As Lisanna helped Mira into her wedding dress, the room seemed to exude a serene calm, a stark contrast to the busy chaos outside. Mirajane glanced at her reflection in the mirror, taking in the elegant gown and the delicate veil cascading down her back.
"You look beautiful," Lisanna said with a warm smile. "Everything's going to be perfect."
As if fate had a cruel sense of humor after Lisanna said that there was crashing and the sound of a fight coming from the main room of the guild hall.
Mira and Lisanna exchanged worried glances. The commotion outside grew louder, and Mira's serene moment was abruptly shattered. Mirajane hurried to the door, her dress rustling as she moved.
"Stay here!" she instructed Lisanna before stepping into the chaos.
The guild hall was now a whirlwind of chaos. Tables had been knocked over, food was scattered, and members were scrambling to restore order. In the center of the turmoil, Natsu and Gray were engaged in yet another one of their fights, this time it was something about plates. Lucy was trying to pull them apart while Erza was scolding them (at least trying, they didn't seem to hear her).
Mira's eyes widened as she took in the scene. Her calm, composed exterior was quickly replaced by an outburst of rage. This was it, she had finally had it. "Enough! Everyone out, Now!"
The guild hall was emptying rapidly, leaving behind the remnants of the chaotic scene. Mira sank into a bar stool, feeling the weight of the day's events settle heavily on her shoulders. Her usual calm and grace were replaced by frustration and sadness. Lisanna rushed to her side, her eyes full of concern.
"Mira, are you okay?" Lisanna asked, kneeling beside her sister.
Mira shook her head, tears beginning to spill down her cheeks. "I just wanted everything to be perfect, and now it's a mess. I don't even know how we're going to fix this."
Lisanna placed a comforting hand on Mira's shoulder. She didn't say anything though, there wasn't much she could say at that moment. After sitting with her sister for some time Lisanna walked over to Evergreen, who had stayed behind to try and restore some semblance of order.
Evergreen looked up as Lisanna approached, her face smeared with remnants of spilled food but her determination unshaken. "How's Mira?" she asked, brushing off her hands.
"She's pretty upset," Lisanna replied, her voice low. "Keeps saying she's going to reschedule. But she really wanted to get married on the first day of spring. I don't know what to do at this point."
Evergreen considered this for a moment, wiping her hands on a cloth. "I'll go get Laxus so he can talk to her." Evergreen left the guild hall to find Laxus, who had been busy with other preparations. Meanwhile, Lisanna returned to Mira, still seated despondently.
At the apartment that Laxus shared with Freed and Bickslow (he'd finally be moving out after the wedding), the atmosphere was calm in stark contrast to the chaos unfolding at the guild hall. Freed was deep into his reading, while Bickslow was lounging, his eyes half-closed as he lazily watched the TV lacramia. Laxus, who was rather ticked that Mira insisted on a huge wedding, grabbed a beer from the fridge closing the door a bit rougher than intended.
"Are you sure we shouldn't go help set up? This is a rather important day and Mirajane is probably overwhelmed," Freed said setting aside his book as Laxus sat on the couch next to him.
"Tch, the demon said not to worry about it so we won't," Laxus replied, leaning back and taking a sip from his beer. "Besides, you know Mira. She's probably already got everything under control."
Freed frowned slightly. "Even so, it's not every day we have such an important celebration. It wouldn't hurt to lend a hand."
"What? You trying to get away from us man? We get to relax, enjoy it," Bickslow laughed as he joined the conversation.
"Let's be real, Bickslow," Laxus said, shaking his head. "I'm not a wedding planner, and neither are you guys. Mira's got it covered. We'll just stick to the plan."
Just then, Evergreen burst into the apartment, her face flushed and her breath coming in short bursts. "Laxus, you need to come right away! Mira's in trouble. The guild hall's a mess, and she's really upset."
Laxus's relaxed demeanor vanished instantly. He stood up, his beer forgotten. "What happened?"
"Long story short," Evergreen said, "Natsu and Gray had another of their ridiculous fights. The guild hall is in chaos and Mira's heartbroken. She's even talking about rescheduling the wedding."
Without another word, Laxus grabbed his coat. "Let's go. Freed, Bickslow, you're coming too. We'll sort this out."
Once arriving at the guild hall the group was met with Lisanna who wasted no time shouting out orders. "Laxus go comfort your fiancé. Bickslow, Elfman you two clean up. Freed and Evergreen figure out decorations. I'll be in the kitchen making as much food as possible. Hustle people! Hustle!"
"Since when were you in charge," Evergreen asked daring to defy the youngest Strauss sibling.
"Since my sister's wedding got ruined! Now either help or get out of here," Lisanna yelled glaring at the others.
Alright, alright!" Bickslow and Elfman said in unison, already grabbing cleaning supplies and starting to restore order.
Laxus moved quickly through the chaotic guild hall, finding Mira sitting alone, her veil askew. She looked up with tear-streaked cheeks as Laxus approached. Jumping up she tried to find a place to hide but to no avail. "No! You can't see me in the dress before the wedding, it's bad luck!"
"That shit ain't real," Laxus said firmly, catching her by the shoulders and gently guiding her back into the seat. "Listen, Mira. I know this is a mess, but it's just that— a mess. It doesn't change how amazing you look or how much today means. We'll get this sorted."
Mira's eyes were red, but she looked up at him, her composure wavering. "I wanted everything to be perfect. I'm so sorry."
Laxus shook his head, a soft smile playing on his lips. "Mira, you don't have to apologize for anything. Weddings are supposed to be chaotic. It's like a law of the universe or something. But what matters is us, right here, right now."
He brushed a tear from her cheek. "We'll clean this up, we'll get married today, and it'll be perfect because I ain't letting a damn fight ruin this for you."
Mirajane's eyes softened as she listened to Laxus, the frustration beginning to lift from her shoulders. His words were a balm to her wounded pride, and she took a deep breath, letting his assurance wash over her.
"You're right," Mira said, her voice steadier now. "I'm sorry for letting the chaos get to me. I just… I wanted everything to be perfect for us."
Laxus gave her a reassuring smile. "You know, perfect is overrated. What's important is that we're here for each other. The rest? We'll handle it."
With renewed determination, Mira stood up, straightening her dress and fixing her veil. "Okay, let's fix this. I want to get married today, and nothing's going to stop us."
As Mira and Laxus rejoined the chaos in the guild hall, Lisanna was already working tirelessly to get everything back in place. Bickslow and Elfman were moving debris, while Freed and Evergreen were working on the decorations, their previous frustrations forgotten in the flurry of activity. With everyone working together, the guild hall slowly started to take shape again.
"Aww, look at all of them working together and just for us. I feel so special," Mira said, her voice carrying a hint of gratitude and awe. "Oh, we should do this again when Elfman and Evergreen get married!"
"Hell no, I ain't gonna have any part with that," Laxus groaned from beside her his head already aching just thinking about it.
As the bridal party got in place (except for Lisanna who was still in crazy planner mood) Mira couldn't help but chuckle to herself. She couldn't believe she almost canceled her own wedding. She was going to have to give a proper 'thank-you' to the Raijinshū later. "Lisanna get over here," Mira called out, a relieved smile on her face as she saw her sister still buzzing around with last-minute details.
Lisanna darted over, her face flushed but her eyes shining with determination. "What's up? Is everything okay?"
"Everything's fine now," Mira said, taking a deep breath. "Thanks to everyone's hard work, we're almost back on track. I just wanted to thank you for everything you've done today. It means a lot."
Lisanna's expression softened, and she pulled Mira into a quick hug. "Don't mention it. It's your special day, after all. I'm just glad we could get things sorted."
"And everything is sorted, now get in place so I can get married," Mira laughed brushing some flour off of her sister's face. With the guild hall now a flurry of organized activity, the mood shifted from chaotic to hopeful. Mirajane took her place at the front, flanked by her bridal party and the eager guests. The earlier disruption seemed like a distant memory as the atmosphere transformed into one of joy and anticipation.
Laxus stood at the altar, looking dashing in his formal attire, a rare smile on his face. His eyes met Mira's as she walked down the aisle, her dress sparkling under the lights. The earlier tension had faded, replaced by an overwhelming sense of love and happiness.
The ceremony began, and the room was filled with the soft murmur of guests and the occasional rustle of fabric. Mirajane and Laxus exchanged vows, their words heartfelt and sincere. Mira's earlier concerns about perfection seemed trivial now, overshadowed by the genuine emotions shared between them.
As the ceremony concluded, the guild erupted in applause, and Mira and Laxus shared their first kiss as a married couple. The crowd cheered, and the atmosphere was electric with celebration.
Following the ceremony, the reception kicked off. The guild members, who had been through the wringer earlier, were now in high spirits. The food and drinks flowed freely, and the music played, filling the room with festive energy. "I bet no one would notice if we left now," Mira whispered to Laxus her voice carrying a hint of seduction.
Laxus raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk forming on his lips. "Oh? And where would we go?"
Mira's eyes sparkled with mischief. "I'm thinking a quiet spot away from all this. Just us."
Laxus chuckled softly, nodding in agreement. "I like the sound of that." Mira and Laxus slipped away from the lively reception, heading back to her place with no plan of returning.
