Prologue: Toto we're not in Heathgate anymore

High school. The one thing any teenager dreads even the smart kids dread is where the social food chain stands in full control. If it's one thing that movies got strangely right it's the social status food could admit that she was on the bottom of the social status chain. Even if she is from a rich family, her attitude and her judgemental personality made it harder for people to like her.

But this is a fresh new start for her as she stares around in her brand new bedroom. She keeps telling her mother that she didn't need this much space but apparently it was exactly what she needed. Grabbing her things she headed downstairs into the kitchen where her parents were that had food on the table.

Grinning, she sat down after kissing her mother and father on the cheek and started putting stuffed food on her plate. It was a healthy hearty breakfast, some of her favorite actually.

"So, ready for your first day at Hogwarts High ?" Prudence asked her daughter as she took a ship of coffee.

Hermione nodded slowly. "Somewhat, I'm more nervous than excited since this is a new school and town all together."

Herms who put his papers down onto the table and looked at his daughter. "It's always okay to be nervous on the first day of school sweetheart."

Hermione nodded as she finished her breakfast. "Well, I have to get going and I don't want to be late for school." getting up to put her dishes away she kissed her mother and father on the cheek and headed out.

Hermione took a deep breath as she stood in front of the school watching her new classmate catching up with their friends. She hadn't realized just how rich her new classmates were and she was feeling self-conscious even though she shouldn't be since her parents are rich too. But the thing is that they are new money rich. Most of these teens seem to be old money rich. And she just wrapped the sweeter closer tightly as she waited for her school guide tour.

A beautiful Indian girl was coming up towards her noticing that this must be her guide tour. Waving her hand so that she could spot the girl, the girl beamed and fast walked over to her.

"Hello! You must be Hermione Granger right ?" Padme asked her hoping that she was that girl. Thankfully she nodded stating that she was Hermione Granger which she had to sigh in relief. "Oh, thank god! Principal Dumbledore had sent me the email on who I was showing around the school."

Hermione nodded with a slight smile. "Of course."

And the two girls were off on the tour as they walked toward the entrance Hermione noticed just how high the hierarchy is for this school.

"If you don't mind me asking, what is the high hierarchy social status is like here ?"

Padma chuckled at the usually same question that everyone had asked. "It's okay to ask, you're not the first nor the last that will ask that." Nodded to the scene in front of them as they stopped on the sidewalk.

"Over there you have your theater nerds, those are usually the ones that you have to avoid at all cost right next to the nerds." Padma said as she pointed to the two groups that are by each other on the lower level of the school front building.

Hermione's eyes widened but nodded to Padma who then continued on speaking.

" Then, up on the second level you have your second level "popular" kids." Padma nodded towards the second level of the school ground while using her hands for air quotes. "And on the top level are the actual popular ones ranging from sports such as football and basketball etc." Pointing towards the top of the stairs near the front door. "Most of them are usually floaters, meaning they can be in any group and not be judged for it also with them being old money rich kids."

Hermione's eyes widened even more with her mouth slowly open. "I-I um, wow."

Padma chuckled at her and looped her arms through hers. "I'll write it all down for you so that you can understand the way things go around here."

Hermione smiles in relief that she would have an idea of how things go around here not knowing that the moment she enters those doors would change her life forever.
