Thank you all for the comments, it means a lot to me. I have no beta, so any mistake I'll be correcting along the way.
Elliot was a mess, sweating, nervous and literally running to get home, take a shower, dress his best clothes and finally see Olivia. He dreamt about this moment for months, he didn't want to be late, but the universe has other plans for him.
"Hey, El". He jumped at the sound of Randall's voice echoing from his couch.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, dropping his keys at the bowl hear the door and already going to his bedroom and opening his closed to find a suit to wear. He wasn't in the mood for a discussion with his brother, no matter how important it must be, Olivia is more important.
"Hot date?" Randall called from the doorjamb, smiling softly. Elliot's hurry could only mean one thing: a woman.
"Randall, I'm already running late, and I need you to tell me what you're doing here" he breathed loud "now!"
"First tell me if you're going to see someone tonight." Someday his curiosity is going to kill him, but not right now. Now he needed to know about his brother's love life.
"You don't know her, and I don't want you near her under any circumstances. She doesn't need this family's drama anymore, not now by the way".
"So she knows the family? Now you need to tell me who's her! Please Elliot, I'm not going to do anything, I just need to know who is making my brother act like a teenager going to his first date! Please!" Oh, this is going to be good, he needs something to feed his boring days in this city he hates.
"She knows the kids and mama and she even knew Kathy." Elliot said trying to satisfy Randall's curiosity.
"You're going to date some Kathy's friend? Elliot Joseph Stabler, you dog!" He laughed, hard. He couldn't believe his brother was going to date some woman who was friends with his late wife.
"No, you idiot" Elliot answered exasperated. He really wasn't in a mood for this interrogation. "She wasn't Kathy's friend, she even tried at some point, but now I know that Kathy hated her." Damn, he shared too much. Damn.
Now Randall wouldn't let him go in peace. He saw his brother's eyes grow bigger and bigger and his smile disappeared.
"Kathy hated her?" Randall stopped and thought. Who could be this woman who knew the family, but Kathy hated?
"I need to shower, if you're not going to tell me what you want, then leave."
"Go take your shower and get dressed for your woman, I'll wait."
Elliot rolled his eyes and entered his bathroom. He really needed Randall to leave him alone, literally. Thinking about how stubborn and curious his brother was, right now he knew Randall was making a list of all women that he could have met in any barbecue, Christmas eve, Thanksgiving or birthday party he attended in Elliot's house. He prayed to God that he would never remember his partner.
After shaving and showering, Elliot clad only in a towel got out of the bathroom to be startled by his brother loud laugh from the kitchen now.
"If I was you and I had these muscles I would choose some tight shirt. Dress to impress this lady." Randall laughed at Elliot's reaction and opened the fridge to find something to drink. With his back to his brother, he asked. "Mama keeps asking me about a woman called Olivia." After some seconds of silence, Randall looked at Elliot, now shocked by his words. He's loving this story. "Is it her?" He tried again.
Elliot ignored him and entered his bedroom, closing his door. He really wanted to run away from here now. It was almost 6pm and he needed to dress, get his car, go to Manhattan and buy Noah's ice cream before going to her place. Goddammit!
"Randall, do me a favor?" He called his brother from his bedroom door with all the calm he learned to show at therapy.
"A favor for more info about your woman. Deal?"
"Deal." He gave his bother a sly smile.
Mirroring Elliot's smile, Randall nodded his head positively.
"Go to the bodega at the end of the street and buy ice cream. Chocolate and Strawberry. The most expensive ones." He gave him his credit card.
"Oh, she'll love the dessert. Smart boy."
"Just go, ok?" Elliot wouldn't let him know about Noah. Mama and Kathleen asked him a million questions about Noah and he denied all their crazy ideas about the boy being his love child with Olivia. Randall really doesn't need to know about him. He can't let anyone destroy his relationship with both Bensons with gossip and illusions. He wanted it to be true, but unfortunately Noah wasn't his son (for now).
He got ready, put his best shirt, suit and shoes, took another bath but this time of cologne and waited for Randall with the ice cream. When his brother entered his house again, he seemed like a man who ran a marathon.
"Came as soon as the line at the bodega let me." He dropped the bag at the kitchen counter. "Now spill! Is it Olivia? I remember Kathy talking to Angela about some Olivia who worked with…"
"Thank you!" Elliot got the bags and ran to the door. "We'll talk when I get back." He smiled. He could play this game too. "Don't wait for me."
"Hey!" Randall called but Elliot was already out, closing the door behind him. Randall was too tired from the run to the bodega and didn't go after his brother. This wasn't right, Elliot promised him more information about his woman. Well, now he had to be a detective again and find out by himself.
Pulling his cellphone from his pocked he dialed the number from someone who would know everything.
"Hey, Kathleen! My favorite niece! Your old uncle needs a favor… Yeah, Mama is fine. I need to talk about your dad. Dinner tonight? At 7? I can be there, perfect! I'm on my way!"
Elliot should have told him, Randall thought. Now more people would know he was having a hot date with his Olivia with ice cream and all.
All will be revealed at 7 o'clock, lol.
