Chapter 52
Trial
'In a stunning turn of event's, a superhero is suing. The hero of Paris, Ladybug, has filed a lawsuit against Ladyblog owner Alya Cesaire in superior court. The trial is to commence today as-'. William then turned the T.V off. He was in his best suit for the trial.
"I still can't believe that Ladybug actually decided to sue" said Scul.
"Good thing too", said William. "Now, we can finally get Lila's biggest supporter out of our hair". He then heard a knock at his door.
"Come in" said William. The door opened, and Valerie walked in.
"You ready?" She asked.
"As ready as I'll ever be" answered William. They headed off the limo and then made their way to the courthouse. Several news reporters were outside waiting for the trial to start.
"This gonna be the talk of Paris by the time it's over" William said to himself. When they got inside, they sat in the seats with the rest of the jury. Soon, it was full. Ladybug and Alya then walked in and the Trial began. The judge then turned to Kira.
"State your name" he said.
"Kira Trunes, your honour" said Kira.
"What exactly is your client pressing charges for?" Asked the Judge.
"The charges placed against Alya Cesaire are as follows", answered Kira. "Stalking, unauthorised photography, invasion of privacy and attempted involuntary manslaughter". That last one made the court gasp.
"I see", said the Judge. "And who do you, Ms. Cesaire, plead to these charges?".
"Not guilty" answered Alya.
"Bullshit" muttered William.
"Ms. Trunes", said the judge. "Do you have anyone who'd like to speak on Ladybug's behalf".
"I do", answered Kira. "But before I start, let me show some evidence. Exhibit A, an article about Ladybug and Chat Noir being a couple after they kissed during the attack of an Akuma called 'Oblivio'. Yet, Ladybug has confirmed that the kiss was the only way to cancel out the memory loss powers of Oblivio. The first person I call to the stand is, Kagami Tsurugi". Kagami then made her way to the stand next to the judge.
"What exactly is your relationship with Ladybug?" Asked Kira.
"Well, I was the previous holder of the Dragon Miraculous", answered Kagami. "I had been a member of Ladybugs team since Friendship day up until Miracle Queen".
"I see", said Kira. "Do you go to the same school as Alya?".
"No, I don't", answered Kagami. "The only time I enter the grounds of her school is because that's where my fencing classes are".
"While you were on Team Miraculous, did you notice any odd or unsettling behaviour from Alya?" Asked Kira. Kagami physically gulped.
"Y-Yes" she answered.
"Can you describe a situation that stood out to you?" Asked Kira.
"Yes", Answered Kagami. "The father of one of my classmates got Akumatized into Mal-Delicious after his dish was ruined on the day a promotion would be given to a chef at Le Grand Paris. Alya's mom also worked there and wanted to make sure her mom got it, so she sabotaged his dish. While no one knew who the saboteur was at the time, I overheard Alya talking to herself about about it".
"I see", said Kira. "What about as Rena Rouge?".
"Pegasus almost lost an arm because she wanted to be 'more helpful' when fighting Volpina", answered Kagami. "She said that she was just, 'dealing with some trouble', yet she put Pegasus in danger because of it".
"Really?", asked Kira. "Is that all?".
"Not quite", answered Kagami. "She also has this thing with keeping me away from Adrian. I don't know why? Me and Adrian tried dating after Miracle Queen, but it didn't work out. That's all I have to say".
"Very well", said the judge. "You may return". Kagami then walked back to the jury.
"I didn't put Pegasus in danger", said Alya. "I was trying to calm Lila down after-". The judge banged his gavel.
"You were not given permission to speak" said The Judge.
"The next person I'd like to bring to the stand is", said Kira. "Nathaniel Kurtzberg". Nathaniel walked to the stand.
"Have you had any interactions with Alya, Mr. Kurtzberg?" Asked Kira.
"I didn't have that many interactions with her" answered Nathaniel.
"What about with her as Rena Rouge?" Asked Kira.
"Only a few", answered Nathaniel. "Me and Marc had just posted our latest issue of our Ladybug comic series online and she then sent me a message saying that 'she was hardly in it'. I got the same complaint from Queen Bee, but, I never thought that Rena Rouge would say that as well".
"Really?" Asked Kira.
"And then there was the incident with Lamplighter" said Nathaniel.
"That fire themed Akuma that turned out to be museum worker?" Asked Kira.
"Yeah", answered Nathaniel. "Rena thought it was a brilliant idea to lure him to a petrol station, which was where I was with my aunt and cousin. And I bet you can guess what happened next".
"The place exploded?" Asked Kira.
"With a big bang", answered Nathaniel. "My cousin got minor burns on her legs".
"Is that all you have for us?" Asked Kira.
"That's all I have" said Nathaniel. He then returned to his seat.
"Before I continue", said Kira. "I'd like to show some more evidence".
"Proceed" said the judge.
"Exhibit B, this one was posted a month after hero's day", said Kira. "This article shows that a new Ladybug themed blog called 'The Miraculog' made it's debut. Nothing fancy, nothing extravagant. But many people praise this blog, because it focuses more on info about Akumas and heroes, rather than trying to pry into their personal lives. And yet, the Ladyblog berates it for being uninteresting and lacking flare. So, I'd like to call forth the blog's creator, Aurora Borialle and Mirelle Caquet". Aurore and Mirelle then took the stand.
"You two run the Miraculog, am I right?" Asked Kira.
"We do" answered Mirelle, with Aurora nodding in agreement.
"Why did you decide to that?" Asked Kira.
"That's what I asked them" added Alya.
"We wanted to give people a reliable source of info about heroes and Akumas", answered Aurora. "Not a site that tells everyone on who you think is gonna fuck who or someone's sex life".
"You're just jealous that you're not friends with anyone famous" said Alya. The judge banged his gavel.
"It is not your time to speak", said the judge. "Please, continue you two".
"And we didn't want to put one of Lila's 'adventures' on it, she started calling us bad friends and all that crap", said Aurora. "It's like she's her damn lapdog".
"What about any incidents with her as Rena Rouge?" Asked Kira.
"Nothing personal, but my aunt doesn't like her because she thinks she has a big head" answered Aurora.
"And I took a look at the recent popularity polls", said Mirelle. "Rena Rouge and Queen Bee were tied for the least popular heroes on Ladybug's team".
"Seems like quite the dip", said Kira. "From what I gathered, she was the third most popular superhero in Paris".
"I'm guessing that had to do with Lamplighter?" Wondered Mirelle.
"Could be", said Kira. "That all?".
"That is all we have to say" said Aurora.
"You may return to your seats" said the judge. Aurora and Mirelle then sat back in the jury.
"Next, I would like to invite someone who's actually had a conversation with Ladybug" said Kira. Alya smirked, she had to be referring to Lila.
"Rebecca Cyse, I call you to the stand" said Kira. Alya's mouth dropped, SHE was taking the stand.
"Have you had any interactions with Alya?" Asked Kira.
"Not really", answered Kira. "And I'm glad I didn't. From what Adrian told me, she's pushy, attention starved and could act like an all around bitch. Especially when it came to two things, her blog or Rena Rouge. I'm close friends with William's family, as his wife and I were best friends, and I would help Valerie babysit William when he was younger. And ever since they came to Paris, I've heard nothing but shitty things about that bitch. And that fucking bitch had the absolute vagina, to team up with two other whore's to try and blackmail him in order to get invites to the Halloween ball. AND before that, she said that strippers, I.E, people like me, are nothing but sex crazed sluts. I had half a mind to smack those ugly glasses off her fat head. Oh, and four-eyes, if we are just 'sex crazed sluts', why did Ladybug choose a stripper, to be a hero. And I can tell you, I felt satisfaction when me and friends beat the shit out of your friend as an Akuma. Such a shame Hawkmoth can make two of those Butterflies at once. I would've enjoyed punching you too". Everyone was shocked at what Rebecca had said.
"What about your interactions with Ladybug?" Asked Kira.
"Only one", answered Rebecca. "She was on patrol and saw me on my break. I invited her in and me, her and girls started talking. *sigh* That girl is put through SO much pressure it's like she's about to crack at any moment. Hell, our boss even have her a stack of 100 Euro bills for 'saving the world'. Being the hero she was, she said she couldn't accept it, but our boss insisted. She even stopped me from killing a former co-worker of mine because she turned stabbed us in the back". That made Nathalie flinch.
"Anything else you want to add?" Asked Kira.
"Nah, I got everything out" answered Rebecca. She then went to sit back down in the jury.
"Now then", said Kira. "To the stand I call, Nino Lahiffe". Nino then sat down at the stand.
"From what I gathered, you two are a couple, am I right?" Asked Kira.
"We are" answered Nino.
"I'm gonna need you to be professional in this", said Kira. "You were the Turtle hero, Carapace, right?".
"I, I was" answered Nino.
"You two were considered one of Paris' most popular couples", said Kira. "Yet, you raised in popularity while she dropped in popularity".
"I mainly focused on my missions", said Nino. "Yet, you know how many people criticise Chat Noir for flirting too much with Ladybug?".
"I am aware of that" answered Kira.
"Well, she started to flirt at inappropriate times", said Nino. "At first it was just at random times. Then, it start to get more frequent. It got up to the point where it nearly cost us an Akuma battle".
"What about in more recent times?" Asked Kira. Nino sweat a little bit and pulled the colour of his shirt.
"It, started when William showed up", said Nino. "The minute she heard that he was a rich kid, she started thinking of all the things our class could do. Let's just say it was NOT what we expect. And, when I heard that Adrian was living with him, I assumed he was holding him prisoner, but, *sigh* when I found out the truth, if he had broken my shoulder, I would've deserved it".
"Interesting information", said Kira. "So, are you are about the poll where she was-".
"Voted most likely to get kicked off the team?', asked Nino. "Yes, I was. I could tell that she was gonna do something stupid. So, I asked Ryuko to follow her. Good thing I did, too".
"Is that all you have?" Asked Kira.
"That is all" said Nino, he then returned to the jury.
"Now, allow to show my next lot of evidence" said Kira. She placed a folder on the table and opened it and held up a picture.
"This is a picture taken of a Popularity poll", said Kira. "Ladybug's in first, followed by Chat Noir, Rena Rouge, Carapace, Ryuko, Viperion, Pegasus, King Monkey and Queen Bee". She then held up another one.
"And this was taken a month before Miracle Queen", said Kira. "Rena Rouge has dropped significantly in popularity, she's on the same level as Queen Bee". She then held up one last picture.
"And this one was taken after Halloween", said Kira. "Ladybug, Chat Noir And the Wendigo are all tied for most popular. Then we have Sultry Vixen, Rooster Bold, Madam Tigress, Vesperia, Carapace, Ryuko, Multimouse, Viperion, Caprikid, Ms. Hound, Queen Monkey, Pegasus, King Monkey, Aspix, and Rena Rouge and Queen Bee are tied for last. So, I guess that a lot more people think Rena fell from grace. Now, I'd like to call forth, Sabrina Raincomprix". Sabrina then took the stand.
"Are you friends with either William or Ladybug?" Asked Kira.
"Ladybug, no", said Sabrina. "William, yes. He saved from from a friendship I should've left years ago".
"Describe it" said Kira.
"I used be friends with the now formers mayor's daughter", said Sabrina. "She made me do things for her. Some simple, others were criminal. But, I couldn't say no to her".
"From what I gathered, you and Chloe started to become proper friends when she became Queen Bee", said Kira. "What happened?".
"Miracle Queen", answered Sabrina. "Then things went right back to the start. Then, one day, I text from William. He told me to meet up at his home. I'm gonna be honest, I thought it was an invitation for sex or something. But, when I got there, he just wanted to talk. He said if I helped him with his dad's campaign for mayor, he'd make sure that Chloe never did anything to me or anyone again. I helped him with that post he made. I even flagged down Ladybug and Chat Noir to help him".
"Do you know about Ladybug and William's supposed sex?" Asked Kira.
"William told me that both he and Ladybug got hit by Sexizou's and Madam Desire's powers", answered Sabrina. "All they did was tongue, then they got splashed with water. It snapped them out of it".
"Is that true?" Asked Kira.
"Most definitely", answered Sabrina. "I even had my dad check the clip to see if it had been edited, which it had. That's all I've got to say".
"Very well, you may return to your seat", said Kira before Sabrina sat back in the jury. "Zoe Lee, you are called to the stand". Zoe then took the stand.
"Read that you and William were friends, correct?" Asked Kira.
"We still are", answered Zoe. "But he, wanted to cut ties". This peeked everyone's curiosity, why would William want to cut ties with someone like Zoe.
"Did you do something that hurt him?" Asked Kira.
"No", answered Zoe. "More like he blames himself for hurting me".
"Why would he blame himself?" Asked Kira. Zoe then placed her left leg up and pulled up the leg of her pants, revealing a wooden leg.
"We were heading out for the day", said Zoe. "I had the idea to take a short cut through the train yard and by foot got caught. We heard a train coming and, I pushed William out of the way".
"What about the sex with Ladybug thing?" Asked Kira.
"I don't believe that for a second", answered Zoe. "He said, and I quote, 'the only time I'd sexually fuck a girl, is if we both want it. And from what I hear, they had no intention of having sex".
"Is that all you have to say?" Asked Kira.
"That it is" answered Zoe as she went back to the jury.
"Luka Couffaine", said Kira. "You are called to the stand". Luka then took the stand.
"You were the Snake hero, Viperion, correct?" Asked Kira.
"I was", answered Luka. "And, I know for a fact that Ladybug wouldn't, to quote Rebecca, 'sling her Virginia so loosely'".
"And what about William?" Asked Kira.
"His song", said Luka. "It's the most complex I've heard so far. Sometimes it's like a tiny, peaceful violin melody being overshadowed by an anger fuelled rock concert. But, he did, cause a divide between me and my sister. After he showed me some, rather hurtful messages that she sent to someone close to my heart, I lost temper. I haven't spoken to her in over a month. I, just don't know when I'll be able to talk to her. Then I got Akumatized because I thought William might do something to Marinette. But, all I found out was that Marinette was smiling. And to quote William, 'if I was planning on doing something to her, don't you think you would've sense it?'".
"Intriguing", said Kira. "Is that all you have?".
"That is all" answered Luka.
"Now", said Kira. "For the next person I call to the stand. I call, Marc Anciel". Marc then took the stand.
"Are you, friends with Alya?" Asked Kira.
"I only know her by name", answered Marc. "Other then that, I've only heard things from word of mouth".
"Like?" Asked Kira.
"She's a good friend", answered Marc. "She's a complete bitch, I could go on. But, it's all conflicting. When one says something, someone says another. That's all I've got to say". He then walked back to his seat in the jury.
"Alix Kubdel, you're up next" said Kira. Alix then took the stand.
"What are your relationships with William and Ladybug?" Asked Kira. Alix gulped, knowing that William was there.
"William's an asshole", answered Alix. "But, Ladybug. I once saved her from Reverser after she got struck by his powers. I don't think Ladybug would go that far with a pedestrian. It would put him in danger".
"Is that all?" Asked Kira.
"Yes, that's all" answered Alix before heading back to the jury.
"Now, how about we get some family in?", suggested Kira. "I call to the stand, Olga Mendeleiev". Ms. Mendeleiev then took the stand.
"What is your relationship with Alya?" Asked Kira.
"I'm gonna be honest", answered Ms. Mendeleiev. "She is one of the most difficult students I have EVER had to teach. She's always on her phone, AND puts herself in danger for the idiotic blog of hers. Ugh, it's beyond annoying. I even considered telling her mom about this and behaviour classes. But, I never got around to it".
"What about that incident with the teenager?" Asked Kira.
"Oh, I'm well aware of what she did to that teenager", answered Ms. Mendeleiev. "Reginald Pitter is his name. I know because I tutored him for a while. Hell, I was on my way to a session with him when it happened. I had a talk with Ryuko and she told me about Carapace's suspicion".
"What about Ladybug?" Asked Kira.
"I'm only a fan of her because I think she's an excellent role model for not just girls, but boys too", answered Ms. Mendeleiev. "When I go to the shops, I sometimes see little girls either wearing ladybug clothes, carrying a ladybug doll or even watching that Ladybug movie. Hell, I think Rebecca's boss had the right idea to give her money. I mean, kicking Hawkmoth's Akuma's ass doesn't keep the lights on".
"What about William?" Asked Kira.
"My Nephew?", asked Ms. Mendeleiev. "He might be a bit, rough around the edges and he can be a bit cynical. But, I know that he's a good kid and he does do the right thing when push comes to shove. That is all I have to say". She then walked back to the jury.
"Valerie Robberts", said Kira, "You have the stand". Valerie then took the stand.
"Do you know Alya, or have had interactions with her?" Asked Kira.
"Yes, all negative", answered Valerie. "She got me Akumatized because she thought I attacked Lila. If I had, she'd have a broken jaw".
"Why's that?" Asked Kira.
"I was a marine", answered Valerie. "I even got medals to prove it".
"What about Ladybug?" Asked Kira.
"Only in passing", answered Valerie. "She often checks on William after an Akuma attack. Not to mention she was surprised that he took on four Akuma's at once".
"And William?" Asked Kira.
"I've known him since he was born", answered Valerie. "But, ever since Marinette came along, I've seen him genuinely smile. For that, I am grateful".
"Is that all you have?" Asked Kira.
"That is all" said Valerie walking back to the jury.
"Max Kante", said Valerie. "You have the stand". Max and his drone Markov then took the stand.
"Do you have any interactions with Alya?" Asked Kira.
"Quite a few since we are classmates", answered Max. "She can be VERY pushy".
"I also heard that you built that AI next to you", said Kira. "Maverick, was it?".
"Markov", correct Max. "And yes, I did. When this scandal started, I looked at the video and had Markov look through it. It had been edited".
"How much of it was edited?" Asked Kira.
"Only 20% of it", answered Max. "The rest was official".
"Right", said Kira. "So, what are your relationships with Ladybug and William?".
"Well, I was Pegasus after all", answered Max. "Ladybug saved my mom. And William, well, it's hard to explain. Many people think he's creepy, but, he's quite approachable. He even got me a meet up with the Wendigo for my game".
"I see", said Kira. "So, why do so many think William's 'creepy'?".
"The way he laughs at misfortune", answered Max. "But, only certain ones. When it's people like me, Sabrina, Marinette, he checks to see if we're okay. If it's Lila, Chloe or Alya, he doesn't just laugh, he full blown cackles".
"Seems he has a schadenfreude ideology" said Kira.
"What?" Asked Nino.
"It's a German term", answered Marinette. "It means he derives pleasure from the failing of others".
"Is that all you have to share?" Asked Kira.
"That will be all Ms. Trunes", answered Markov. "If you want, I can upload the unedited clip to you".
"That would be helpful" said Kira. Max and Markov then sat back with the Jury.
"Jagged Stone", said Kira. "You are called to the stand". Jagged Stone then took the stand.
"Do you have an interactions with Alya or Rena Rouge?" Asked Kira.
"Not that I can remember", answered Jagged Stone. "But, all I know is that I never thought I'd be in a courtroom again. I mean, seriously, chalk powder has a VERY distinctive smell".
"Yes, well, what your relationship with Ladybug?" Asked Kira.
"She's rock n' roll!", cheered Jagged Stone. "I mean, she's got nerves of steel to take on those Akumas. Hence my song for her. Plus, I know what's like to have scandal. So, I'm sticking up for my fellow celebrity".
"What about your relationships with William?" Asked Kira.
"He's not afraid to speak his mind", answered Jagged Stone. "And in an age of PC, we NEED someone like him. Plus, his dad and I know each other. And he's a bad to the bone boy, with a rock n' roll heart".
"I see", said Kira. "Is that all you have?".
"That is all I have" answered Jagged Stone. He then walked back to the jury.
"Clara Nightingale, you have the stand" said Kira. Clara then took the stand.
"You have any interactions with Alya?" Asked Kira.
"Not really", and answered Clara. "But as Rena Rouge, she was like a 'hero' from 'The Boys'".
"Describe the meaning" said Kira.
"Self centred, rarely cared about saving people, though not as much as Queen Bee" said Clara.
"What about Ladybug and William?" Asked Kira.
"William, I haven't", answered Clara. "Ladybug, she is truely an inspiration. Plus, like Jagged said, I know what it's like to have a scandal".
"Is that all you have to share?" Asked Kira.
"That is all" answered Clara. She then went back to the jury.
"Ronald Bones, the floor is your" said Kira. Ronald then took the stand.
"What's your relationship with Alya and/or Rena Rouge?" Asked Kira.
"I really don't like her", said Ronald. "It's people and heroes like her that make people and heroes look bad. I had half a mind to knock her on her ass after she tried to poke fun at my Late wife".
"What about Ladybug?" Asked Kira.
"She's a great ally and an even greater friend", answered Ronald. "She sometimes comes and visits me in my office. That girl deserves a fucking medal for what she does. Chat Noir too. And do you even need to ask about my relationship with my son?".
"I figured", answered Kira. "Was that all?".
"Yes it was" answered Ronald. He then walked back to the jury.
"Nadja Chammock, you may take the stand" said Kira. Nadja then took the stand.
"So, what's you relationship with Alya and Rena Rouge?" Asked Kira.
"We don't have one", answered Nadja. "My daughter never liked her, and from what I found out, it's a good thing too".
"What about Ladybug and William?" Asked Kira.
"My daughter loves Ladybug", answered Nadja. "She has a room FULL of Ladybug merch. William, he can be a bit crude, but I kinda like how he explains things to my daughter. The two seem to get along well. I just hope she doesn't pick up his Schadenfreude ideology. But, yeah, Ladybug is a real hero. She even saved my daughter after she was Akumatized. That's all I've got to say". Nadja then walked back to the jury.
"Next to the stand, I call, Nathalie" said Kira. Nathalie then took the stand.
"Before you ask", said Nathalie. "I never like Alya from the day I met her. It's people like her that Mr. Agreste wants to keep away from his son".
"What about Ladybug and William?" Asked Kira.
"Ladybug's an icon, I can't say any more", answered Nathalie. "But William. If he senses that something's wrong, he will try to rectify it. Even if he has to, damage things. Metaphorically".
"Could you explain?" Asked Kira.
"Due to, complications, Mr. Agreste lost custody of Adrian", said Nathalie. "He said he wanted to teach Adrian how to be a 'real teen'. He even admonished Mr. Agreste for his behaviour. I've never seen Mr. Agreste so frustrated. But, when it all blew over, things between Adrian and Mr. Agreste got better. That's all I have to say". Nathalie then walked back to the jury.
'Oh man', thought Alya. 'I'm gonna lose'.
"Adrian Agreste, the stand is yours" said Kira. Adrian then took the stand.
"What's your relationship with Alya?" Asked Kira. Adrian looked at Alya, who gave a pleading look. Adrian only scowled.
"Beyond repair", answered Adrian. "At first I thought she was a friend, but now, she just a stinking, little leech. She's essentially becoming Chloe, and I think we can all agree that is one thing Paris doesn't need".
"What about Ladybug?" Asked Kira.
"I'd do anything for her", answered Adrian. "Just like she would do anything for us. And William? Well, I owe a lot to him. When I lived with him, I got to do so much I wouldn't do normally. I got to have nights out, I ate at fast food places, I discovered I have strong tolerance for spicy food, I even got a boner for the first time. He's, he's more than a friend, he's like a brother".
"Is that all you have to say?" Asked Kira.
"That's all" answered Adrian. He then walked back to the jury.
"William Bones, the stand is yours" said Kira. William then took the stand.
"What's your relationship with Alya?" Asked Kira.
"You're joking, right?", asked William. "I'd rather fuck a cactus then have a relationship with THAT excuse for a BFF. I mean, you don't steal the ring of the mayor's late wife and blackmail his son without getting bitchslapped. If she's the only influence that those two brats she calls younger sisters have, they are gonna be in juvenile hall by the time they're 15. Nora's the only decent child out of that lot. I met her, and she seems to be the only one with common sense. Every time she talks 'Lila' this 'Lila' that, fuck, why don't you just adopt her? I would say what I was originally gonna say, but I know some people might interpret it wrong. Also, you had the ugliest hero costume ever, at least Ladybug's looked good. I could go on about that bitch, but I got other things that actually matter. So, I'll just say that, I made Adrian a proper teen. I took him on nights out, took him to fast food joints, showed him British comedy shows, hell, I even helped him lose his innocence. And no, he didn't fuck anyone, so cool down. Oh, Lila, if you're watching this, fuck you. Better, go fuck yourself, because you're the only person who would fuck you. As for Ladybug, I like her, dare I say love her. She's confident, strong, a true feminist icon that isn't toxic and easy on the eyes. What? Also, we were hit by Sexizou and Madam Desire's powers, so we were in a sexual stupor. All we did was tongue, nothing more. Besides, if I wanna see Ladybug naked, I'd just go, on R34. It's got plenty of, uh, material on there. Hell, even Hawkmoth and Mayura are on there. I even saw an art piece of them banging. Do you think they do that in real life. "Well now", said Kira. "I do believe we're nearly at the end. So, I call to the stand, Gabriel Agreste". Gabriel then took the stand.
"What your relationship with Alya?" Asked Kira.
"Don't have one", answered Gabriel. "Hope I never do".
"What about Rena Rouge?" Asked Kira.
"I wasted A LOT of money on orange fabric", answered Gabriel. "She was NOT a good seller on Halloween".
"What about Ladybug?" Asked Kira.
"My son is a huge fan of hers", answered Gabriel. "I even bought him a, *cough*, certain japanese item for him. And I do believe that she is good hero. In fact, Nathalie and the Gorilla take bets on how an Akuma's defeat. She also saved me, so that's a plus".
"What about William?" Asked Kira. Gabriel now stretched his collar.
"He's a great influence on my son", answered Gabriel. "I've never seen Adrian so happy. It's also made me, rethink certain things in my life. In a way, I have William, Ladybug and Hawkmoth to thank. Hawkmoth because one of his Akumas brought him and Adrian closer".
"And look how that turned out" muttered Alya.
"Is that all you have to say?" Asked Kira.
"That is all" said Gabriel. He then joined the jury.
"5 minute recess" said The Judge.
In the hall, Kira was leaning against the wall when Ladybug approached.
"Are you sure you got this?" Asked Ladybug.
"In the bag" answered Kira.
5 minutes later.
The court was back in session.
"So, Alya", said Kira. "What do you say to these allegations?".
"Complete bullshit", answered Alya. "I was only doing my job as a journalist".
"Your job?', asked Ladybug. "You were stalking me like some Yandere from an anime. AND you tried to uncover my identity multiple times, despite my clear wishes for you to stop. Hell, if I didn't know any better, I'd say someone was paying you to find out who I was under the mask".
"Why the actual fuck would I even work with Hawkmoth?!" Shouted Alya. Ladybug's eyes narrowed.
"I never said you were", said Ladybug. "And the fact you got so defensive is a little, sus, as they say".
"Are implying I would work with Hawkmoth?" Asked Lila.
"Nope", answered Ladybug. "But you sure seem defensive about it. And funny how you and your friends seem to 'try to help me' especially your current BFF. I'm just saying, very sus".
"Yeah, I couldn't agree more", said Kira. "Hawkmoth shows up and then the Ladyblog does. THEN Hawkmoth ups his game every time. Coincidence? Highly doubt it. But, there is no evidence for, or against that being the truth. I think we got everything".
"Yes, it appears you have", said the judge. "Now, with all the evidence and testimonies, the court finds in favour of-". Everyone watched with bated breath, before the judge banged his gavel.
"-Ladybug". The jury cheered at this.
"You will receive the appropriate compensation", said the judge. "As for you Ms. Cesaire, effective immediately, the Ladyblog is to be taken down and you are not allowed with in Ladybug's vicinity without her permission. Case dismissed". He banged the gavel again, the cameras catching everything.
