*In the middle of the woods, a gray male rat with red eyes, a toothpick in his mouth, & wearing a brown fedora & a brown suit & a white male mouse with brown eyes & wearing a tan cap, a white shirt, blue overalls, & brown shoes (look up "Ratso and Cheesy" by "SwanGirl24" on "Deviantart") were walking through the trees. The rat was walking with confidence & the mouse looked nervous*
Cheesy: Boss, we've gotta take something over before Big Daddy Ape gets here. I mean, he'll want to move in on our territory, but we won't have no territory for him to move in on. It'll be . . . Embarrassing.
*The rat got close to his face*
Ratso: I'll take over something, see. Or my name isn't Ratso Smellington lll. Yeah. *they kept walking through the woods. passing a tree with a wanted poster on it. on the poster was a mean looking brown male gorilla with dark brown eyes, a cigar in his mouth, & wearing a black fedora & gray suit. then they came across a cave & went inside. inside was a table with a candlestick on it & a hammock. then they saw a shadow on the wall & his in fear. they peeked out of the their hiding place & saw it was just a young male dalmatian with brown eyes, wearing a red bandana over a green tank top, blue capris, & light blue sneakers (look up "Ryan" by "SwanGirl24" on "Deviantart") & carrying a bag over his shoulder* Wh - Who are you?
Ryan: I live in this cave. Name's Ryan. What are guys doing in my house?
Ratso: Us? Why, we're here to . . . See your parents. Yeah.
*Ryan put the bag in the chest*
Ryan: I don't have parents.
Ratso: You don't have no parents?
Ryan: I do fine all by myself.
Ratso: You mean you live here all alone? *Ryan nodded. Cheesy wiped away a tear as he held his hat* Then . . . We're taking over this place, see?
*Ryan grabbed him by the collar*

Ratso: Yeah, well, we already did, see? *he pointed at Ryan* We took over the kid.
*Ryan made his way into the city of New Mobotropolis. He walked through the marketplace, lookup for something worth stealing. He was so lost in thought, he didn't realize that he was walking next to the castle wall. Just then, he heard a voice coming from the other side*
?:*off-screen* Gotcha!
*Getting curious, he grabbed a nearby ladder & climbed up it. On the other side, he saw a cobalt blue female hedgehog with peach skin, a crisscross scar on her left cheek, green eyes, her hair in a short down ponytail, & wearing a purple vest over a white crop tank top, red neck scarf, white fingerless gloves with purple power bracelets, black shorts, & purple sneakers was chasing a male yellow-orange fox with two tails, blue eyes, & wearing white gloves, socks, & red shoes around a dome building that was surrounded by guards & decorated with pillars*
(Ayla's POV)
*It's been a few days since Sonic & I met S.O.N.C.X. (the name still cracks me up). 'Today, I was in the Underground Zone, playing tag with this Zone's Tails*
Tails: Hey! *laugh* You missed!
Ayla: You're it!
*I ran around the building, keeping an eye out for Tails. Just then, I felt something tap me on the head. I looked up & saw Tails, flying with his two tails as he hid behind a pillar*
Tails: Ha! Tag! You're it!
Ayla: Pretty sneaky, Tails.
(Third-Person POV)
*Ryan watched them laugh & play, feeling a little jealous. He decided to go over the wall & get a closer look*
(Ayla's POV)
*Just then, as we turned a corner, running, we screeched to a stop as we saw Minerva, the Chief of Staff at the castle, standing in front of us. Luckily, we stopped before we crashed into her*
Minerva: Princess Ayla, you're going to be late for the Charity Gala. The food is laid out, the guests are arriving. And you're out here, playing tag around the Royal Treasure Vault!
Ayla:*sigh* All right, Minerva. Just one more tag. *I poked her in the arm* You're it.
*Tails & I both ran towards the castle*
Minerva: I am most certainly not it! And none of that foolishness at the Charity Gala!
(Third-Person POV)
*Ryan decided to follow them*
(Ayla's POV)
*Later, at the Gala, I was wearing my tiara & a yellow orange dress with salmon trim (look up "Ayla - Yellow Orange Dress" by "SwanGirl24" on "Deviantart") as I sat next to my Mom, who was on her throne. Sonia (who was wearing her tiara, & a light blue dress with matching gloves, & shoes (look up "Sonia - Light Blue Dress" by "SwanGirl24" on "Deviantart")), being the popular girl that she was, was surrounded by a gaggle of guys, asking her to dance. Sonic & Manic were in their formal suits (look up "Sonic, Sonia, and Manic - Formal Clothes" by "SwanGirl24" on "Deviantart") & standing by the buffet table, looking just as bored as I was, along with all the other teenagers who were dragged her by their parents. There were a few who were having fun, like Mindy LaTour & Bartleby, who were dancing together. Minerva wouldn't let us play the music because she said our "brand" of music was "appropriate" for a ball at the castle. Just then, Mom tapped me on the shoulder*
Queen Aleena:*whispering* What do you suppose that young man is up to.
*I looked where she was pointing & saw a boy dalmatian, about my age, peaking in through the window*
Ayla:*whispering* I don't know. I've never seen him before.
*Just then, I saw him place a frog on the one of the drums. The guy playing the drums got disgusted at the sight & tried to hit it with his drum stick. While he was doing that, the rest of the band thought he was playing jazz music & played along with him. While the adults looked disgusted by the music, the teenagers & kids got a kick out of it & started treating this like a rock concert & danced along with the music. *Just then, the frog hopped into Sonia's dress, making her jump around until she fell on her back. Then the frog landed on her dress, making her scream. Bartleby saw the frog & fainted. Mindy, on the other hand, took a more direct approach*
Mindy: Pumpkin! *a little white dog looked up from under the buffet table, it's lips covered in crumbs* Get that frog!
*The guards joined in the chase. Everyone was crashing into each other, trying to get away from the frog as it hopped all over the ballroom. Mom, Sonic, Manic, & I laughed as we watched*
(Third-Person POV)
*While everyone was distracted, Ryan swiped the food from the buffet table*
(Ayla's POV)
*Just then, I noticed that dalmatian boy stealing most of the food from the buffet. Then he ran off. I turned to Tails, who was next to me*
Ayla: Come on, Tails.
*I ran out of the ballroom, heading to my room to change*
Queen Aleena: Ayla, wait!
(Third-Person POV)
Queen Aleena: Hmm . . . If I follow her, she'll just think I'm . . .
Manic: Meddling?
Queen Aleena: You're right, Manic. But still . . .
Sonic: Don't worry, Mom. I know just the person who can watch her without being seen.
(Ayla's POV)
*After I changed out of my dress, Tails & I ran out of the city, following the trail of the buffet thief*
Tails: Here's another one.
*Apparently, he had been droppings food as he ran*

*Ryan entered his cave & dumped the food he stole on the table*
Ryan: Dinner is served, Boss. I stole it right out from under the Queen's nose.
*Ratso & Cheesy started eating*
Ratso: Nice going, kid. Keep up the good work and I'll make something out of you yet.
*All three of them started to laugh*
(Ayla's POV)
We followed the trail until we found a cave. We could hear laughing coming from inside*
Ayla: This must be where he lives.
*We heard more laughing*
Tails: Sounds like one big happy family. Let's go home.
*He turned to leave, but I grabbed his tails. Just then, we saw shadows coming towards the entrance*
Ryan: Look. I dropped one. *Tails & I hid as he came out with Ratso & Cheesy. a pair of wannabe Mobsters wanted all over Mobius. but they were mostly wanted for purse snatching & littering. they were the butt of more jokes than this Zone's Robotnik. He came out & picked up the food he had dropped. that's when I decided to get closer. as soon as he looked up, that's when he saw me. Ratso & Cheesy came out next* Uh-oh. It's Princess Ayla!
Ayla: You must've been pretty hungry to steal all that food.
Ratso; Food? We don't know nothing about no stolen food.
*He noticed Cheesy eating a finger sandwich, bonked him on the head & hid the sandwich*
Ayla: If you were just hungry.
Ryan: I'm always hungry.
(Third-Person POV)
*Little did they know, the Oracle of Delphius, was watching them through his crystal ball*
(Ayla's POV)
Ryan: Ah, what do you know about being hungry!? You're a Princess! All you have to do all day is play tag around the Royal Treasure Vault!
(Third-Person POV)
*Ratso smirked at the words "Treasure Vault"*
(Ayla's POV)
*Then I got an idea*
Ayla: Do you like to play tag?
Ryan: Ah, playin' tag is for kids.
Ratso: Yeah, we're into . . . Takin' over things, see?
Ayla: Well, we're into playing tag. *I tapped him on the head* And you're it.
*I ran away*
Ryan: Hey! That's not fair!
*He ran after me with Tails right behind him*

Cheesy: That looks like fun, Boss. *he tapped Ratso on the head* Tag, you're it.
Ratso: No . . . *he bonked him on the head multiple times* You're it! You're it! You're it! You're it!
(Third-Person POV)
*The Oracle continued to watch through his crystal ball*
Oracle of Delphius: This isn't a good sign. But also the beginning of new wheels turning.
*Ayla, Ryan, & Tails continued running (& flying in Tails' case) through the woods, not noticing a pair of eyes watching them, which belonged to a big dark figure*
(Ayla's POV)
*Just then, Ryan stopped*
Ryan: I've never seen anything like it.
*I went back & looked where he was looking, but didn't see anything*
Ayla: Like what?
Ryan: It.
Ayla: Wh - What it?
Ryan: You're it!
*He tapped me on the head & ran in the opposite direction. I was surprised, but then I laughed & ran after him with Tails behind me*
*Later, we were laying on a hill looking over the city & watching the clouds go by*
Ayla: So, um, how'd you get to be friends with Ratso and Cheesy?
Ryan: I wanna be somebody. He said if I joined his mob, I was somebody.
Ayla: I think everybody is somebody already. But you're the somebody that wrecked the Charity Gala.
Ryan: Ah, those pompous Nobles needed a little excitement.
Ayla: Still, you should apologize to my Mom.
Ryan: Apologize? To do that, I'd have to be sorry. Ratso and Cheesy think I did just great. They're my pals, see? They won't make me go crawling to the Queen like a baby.
*With that said, he stomped away*
Ayla: Hmph. Well I'm not gonna twist his arm.
*But I was still worried*
*I went back to the castle, where my family, Minerva, Bartleby, Sonic, Sonia, & Manic's foster families, Mindy & her Dad were gathered for a meeting*
Lady Windermere: Ratso and Cheesy!? That rap scallion is friends with those troublemakers!?
Uncle Chuck: Those two are wanted in five cities!
Ayla: But Ryan is really nice. He's just . . . Confused.
Minerva: Princess Ayla. As a member of the Royal Family, you must set an example. Preferably, a good example.
Bartleby: A good example, I might add.
Sonia: Stay out of this, Bartleby!
*He flinched at her yell & shut up*
Ayla: But that isn't fair! Ryan is just being mislead. He doesn't have parents to guide him in the right direction.
Minerva: Be that as I may -
Queen Aleena: Minerva, enough. *we all turned to her* Ayla, if what you say is true, I believe you're just the person to steer Ryan in the right direction. Bring him here tomorrow and we'll see what happens.
*I smiled, ran up her, & kissed her cheek*
Ayla: Thanks, Mom.
*The next day, Tails & I headed to Ryan's cave*
Ayla: Ryan? Are you home?
*We went inside to look around*

*Meanwhile, up on a high cliff, Ratso & Cheesy had a huge boulder on a ledge, being stopped by a giant stick. They were holding a rope to pull down & pry the rock loose*
Ratso; I knew that Princess would come back.
Cheesey: Must be your cologne, boss.
Ratso: No. She actually likes that Ryan.
*They pulled on the rope, making the boulder come loose & roll down the hill towards the cave*
(Ayla's POV)
*As we looked around the cave, we heard rumbling coming towards us. We looked outside & saw a huge boulder coming towards the cave. Just then, it blocked the entrance before we could get out. We both pushed on it, but it wouldn't budge*
(Third-Person POV)
*Ratso & Cheesy stood outside the blocked cave*
Ratso: We got her! The girl's worth a fortune!
Cheesy: She's worth a fortune, Boss!
Ratso: Yeah.
Cheesy: How we gonna make a fortune off her?
Ratso: Her Mother! Her Mother, you fondue brain!

*I put my ear on the boulder as I listened to them*
Ratso:*off-screen* The Queen! The Queen! Everyone on Mobius knows that the Royal Family practically adores her. And the Queen's got a Treasure Vault the size of my ego. We'll make her pay through the nose.
(Third-Person POV)
Cheesy: Ah, great, Boss!
Ratso: I know.
(Ayla's POV)
*Tails & I continued to push on the boulder, as we tried to get free, & watched everything through a crack between the boulder & the cave entrance*
Ratso: You know, first impressions are very important. Capturing the Princess is gonna get us in real good with Big Daddy Ape, see?
Cheesy: Okay, so we got the Princess, now what?
Ratso: We write the ransom note! *he pulled out paper & a pencil* Let's see. Alright, Queen. Give us all your treasure or your Princess will be swimming with the fishes!
Cheesy: Too impersonal.
*Ratso glared at him. Just then, Ryan ran up to him*
Ryan: Hey, what happened to my cave!?
*He tried to move the boulder*
Ratso: You did good kid. You're gonna be somebody before you know it. Your Princess friend came lookin' for you and we're holding her for ransom.
Ayla: Ryan! *he looked at me through the crack* Don't listen to them! They're just using you!
Ratso: That ain't true, kid! We're your best friends, see?
Ryan: Uh . . . Yeah! That's right! Come on, yous guys! Let's celebrate. I'll uh . . . Steal us something to eat!
Ratso: Kid, you're a crook after my own heart! *they did a high-five* C'mon, Cheesy, we'll finish the ransom note.
Cheesy: Yeah.
*Ryan ran off. Tails & I sat on the cave floor*
Tails: I thought Ryan was our friend.
*We could hear Ratso & Cheesy laughing outside*
Ayla: So did I.
Ryan:*whispering**off-screen* Psst! Hey, guys! *we turned & saw Ryan looking in through a hole in the back of the cave**on-screen* I'm sorry I got you into this.
*Tails & I went up to the hole*
Ayla: Oh, so you do know how to apologize.
Ryan: Look, I just wanna help, okay.
Tails: Go get Queen Aleena. She'll bring her scepter and "Zap!" cook those rodent's tails!
Ryan: Uh . . . Sounds good. Unless she does those things to me first.
Ayla: Don't worry. Mom's very king and understanding.
Ryan: Yeah. Sure sounds like it.
*He ran away from the cave to get help*

*He managed to sneak into the castle. Which was easy because no one was around*
Ratso: Weird. Nobody's here?
?:*off-screen* That's because you ruined the Charity Gala!
*He jumped & turned around. Then he saw Sonic, Sonia, & Manic glaring at him*
Sonia: You've got a lot of explaining to, Mister!
Ryan: I sure do! Ayla's been kidnapped by Ratso and Cheesy!
Sonic, Sonia, & Manic: What!?
Ryan: You're gotta get the Queen to bring her scepter and blast them!
Sonic: Right! I'll zoom over to her and -
Sonia: Sonic! Mother's gone off to apologize to all the Nobles who attended the Gala! By the time you find her, who knows what'll happen to Ayla by then!
Manic: Sonia's right. It's up to us. And I think I have an idea.
*They made they're way back to the cave, where Ratso & Cheesy were still working on the ransom note. Ryan had a big bag of food with him*
Cheesy: How about this? To who it may concern.
Ratso: No. Queen. Queen. It's the Queen, you swiss brain! I say we get tough like . . . Queen, we got your daughter, see? So, pay up!
Cheesy: Could be more . . . Informative. Like, uh . . . Dear Queen Aleena. Guess what we got. Besides bad grammar and poor spelling that is.
Ratso: No "Dear Queen Aleena!" see? *he hit him on the head* We're tough guys, see!? We don't "Dear Queen", see!?
Sonic:*whispering* Man, these guys make Sleet and Dingo look like geniuses.
Sonia:*whispering* Not to mention they were better dressers than these clowns.
Manic:*whispering* Guys. Focus. We've got a little sister to save. Ryan, you go district the losers while we handle the rest.
Ryan:*whispering* Got it. *he picked up the bag & headed towards the Mobsters**out loud* Hey, Boss! *they turned to him* I got the grub!
Ratso: Great. *to Cheesy* Let's take a little break and chow down.
Cheesy: Great idea, Boss.
*While the three of them started eating, Sonic, Sonia, & Manic headed towards the back of the cave. Sonic looked in the hole in the back*
(Ayla's POV)
Sonic:*whispering**off-screen* Psst! Ayla! *I turned towards the voice & saw this Zone's version of my older brother looking in**on-screen* Are you and Tails okay?
Ayla:*whispering* Sonic! *Tails & I ran up * Yeah. We're okay. But how did you know where to find us?
Sonia:*whispering* Your friend Ryan came to find us.
Ayla:*whispering* Really? I knew he'd come through for us!
Tails:*whispering* Me too!
Manic:*whispering* Alright. Now stand back you two. This is gonna be loud.
*Tails & I moved away from the hole*

*Manic summoned his drums & pounded on them, causing an earthquake. Then Sonia & Sonic summoned their guitar & keyboard, firing lasers at the boulder, destroying it*
(Ayla's POV)
*Tails & I ducked down as rubbled rained down on us. Once it stopped, we ran outside. Sonia immediately hugged me tight*
Sonia: Oh, Ayla! I'm so glad you're alright!
Ayla: S - Sonia! Ch - Choking! Not breathing!
*She led go*
Sonia: Oh. Sorry.
Ratso:*off-screen* What's going on back there!?
Manic: Come on! Let's scram!
*We ran off while Ratso & Cheesy came to inspect the damage. Ryan off as soon as they were distracted*

*Ratso & Cheesy came to the other side of the cave, only to find the giant hole in the back of the cave. They looked inside & found it empty*
Ratso: The Princess is gone!
Cheesy: What do we do now, Boss!?
Ratso: W - We lay low, see? Until the heat dies down.
*Just then, a big shadow fell over them. They looked up & their eyes went wide. It was the same gorilla from the wanted poster (look up "Big Daddy Ape" by "SwanGirl24" on "Deviantart")*
Cheesy: B - B - Big Daddy Ape!?
Big Daddy Ape: That's right, see? Word on the grapevine is you boys are using Princess Ayla for ransom against the Queen. I want in.
Ratso: Oh . . . Uh . . . Gee, Big Daddy, we'd love to have you join us. But the thing is . . . Well . . .
Cheesy: The Princess got away.
*Ratso hit him on the head*
Ratso: Shut up!
*Just then, a shadow looked over both of them*
Big Daddy Ape: Ah see. So basically, you boys just wasted mah time!
*Suddenly, he grabbed both of them by the collars of their shirts & lifted them up into the air*
Ratso: Hold on! Don't crush us! We can make a deal! I know you can get your claws on a ton of treasure!
*The gorilla stopped & smirked*

*He put them down*

*We all went back to the castle, me trying to push Ryan inside*
Ryan: She's a Queen! Why would she wanna bother with me? Except maybe to take her scepter and fry my tail.
*We managed to get him inside & we explains everything to My Mom, Minerva, the foster families, Mindy, & her Dad*
Ayla: Ryan in brave and loyal.
Sonic: It's true, Mom. He came here to get help as soon as he saw Ayla captured.
Sonia: And he did help us save Ayla and Tails.
Tails: And I'm living proof of that, Your Highness.
Minerva: But he was in the company of unsavory types.
Queen Aleena: Now, now, Minerva.
*Just then, a castle guard ran in*
Guard: Your Majesty! Your Majesty! A gigantic gorilla is ripping open the Royal Treasure Vault!
*We all looked outside & saw a humongous gorilla on the roof of the Treasure Vault, taking out piles of gold with his big hands & putting them in a big bag*
Big Daddy Ape: When I get home, I'm gonna buy the entire jungle!
(Third-Person POV)
*Ratso & Cheesy were watching him from behind a tree*
Ratso: He can't carry all the treasure, see? We'll pick up what slips through his fingers.
*They tiptoed in closer*
(Ayla's POV)
*We all looked out a window & saw what was going on*
Manic: It's Big Daddy Ape!
Uncle Chuck: The most criminal Mob Boss since Jungle Capone.
Ryan: I can handle him!
*He grabbed some rope & ran towards the gorilla. He ran around him in circles, tangling his ankles & tying his feet together. Then he started to pull, trying to make him trip. But Big Daddy Ape pulled on the rope to pull Ryan towards him. I couldn't stand by, so I ran to help Ryan*
Tails: Ayla! No!
Sonic: C'mon, guys! We gotta help them!
*Sonia & Manic nodded. Then they all ran towards the fight with Tails behind them. They all grabbed the rope & pulled*
(Third-Person POV)
Bartleby: Your Majesty! Blast that monster with your scepter!
Queen Aleena: They can do it without my help. Don't forget, Ayla & the triplets have fought worse than this, so it'll be no problem for them.
(Ayla's POV)
*We kept pulling until Big Daddy Ape fell off the roof of the Vault & on his back. Then Sonic grabbed the rope & quickly hog-tied him. We all cheered &, out of the spur of the moment, I kissed Ryan on the cheek. Then Mom appeared with a battalion of guards behind her*
Queen Aleena: Seize him!
*The guards surrounded Big Daddy Ape & lead him away. Then she turned to Ryan, who tried to run away, but I grabbed him & pushed him towards my Mom. He looked down, ashamed*
Ryan: Um . . . Sorry I ruines your Charity Gala, Your Highness.
Queen Aleena: Well, it was only food you took. And, *she giggled* you did add a bit more excitement to the Gala.
Uncle Chuck: Of course, Your Majesty. The boy was led astray by Ratso and Cheesy.
(Third-Person POV)
Cheesy: That dirty rat.
*Ratso hit him on the head*

Ryan: Gee. Cab you really zap people with that thing?
*He pointed to Mom's scepter*
Queen Aleena: That and more, young man. *she pointed at Big Daddy Ape's behind, zapping it & making him yelp. we all laughed* If you swim with sharks, you're a shark. And the same for Mobsters. Remember that.
