On the Wings of Doom Part One
Kimberly's eyes drifted towards Tommy's unconscious form even as the four dino rangers held back Silverback.
Lokar let out one last laugh before fading away and the skies cleared. She wished she could run over to check on him but it was impossible with the feral titan between them.
The titan growled, grabbing Kira as she attempted to slash at him with her ptera grips and tossed her aside like a ragdoll, sending her crashing into Kim's car, hard enough to leave a dent.
Kim winced. That must have hurt. Also, she had just got her car painted. She ran over to the yellow ranger, helping her to a sitting position.
Conner and Ethan were next. Silverback's sword collided with Ethan's shield, sending sparks flying. Conner jumped over the blue ranger's shoulders to strike the titan with his staff, only for him to lash out with his tail, which coiled around the red ranger, before slamming him against the ground.
He pushed the blue ranger back, sending him staggering backwards and arms flailing, leaving his chest exposed for the titan to strike him with his sword.
"Ethan!" Trent shouted, readying his dagger and sending a bazillion arrows crashing into the titan, who laughed even as the energy constructs sparked against his armour.
"What?" Trent asked shocked as the titan dived at him. He raised his dagger, but he was no match for the experienced warrior.
As the white ranger flew backwards, falling beside his unconscious mentor, Silverback laughed predatorially as he approached Kim and Kira, who removed her helmet.
Knowing what was coming, Kim placed her hands over her ears.
Kira screamed. Sonic waves tossed the titan backwards, giving them ample time to take aim with their thundermax blasters and open fire.
The titan growled as he swatted the blasts aside with the back of his arm.
"There is no where to run!" He sneered.
"We don't need to." Kira glared at him, putting back her helmet. "Super Dino Mode!"
The pterodactyl on her helmet screeched as the white diamond patterns on her suit became three dimensional spikes. Yellow satin flaps connected her arm and suit and she leapt to the air, taking flight, diving at the titan with her ptera grips.
Kim shook her head. Billy would have probably got an aneurysm trying to figure the physics behind the aerodynamics of the suit!
Taking advantage of the distraction, she ran across to Tommy. Trent, Ethan and Conner staggered to their feet, all of them summoning the same power up to rush to Kira's head.
Silverback let out an irritated cry as Kira cut through his armour. He tried to grab her only for her to duck.
"Hey, creep!" He turned around for Trent and Conner to slash him with their spiked arms.
Ethan rammed against him with his shield, forcing him to stagger back.
"Ingrates!" He fumed.
"Says the monkey!" Conner retorted, smirking underneath his helmet as Silverback's nostrils flared.
"I am a titan, you imbecile!" He snarled, charging at him.
"Great, Conner!" Kira said exasperatedly.
"Did you really need to antagonize the murderous alien?" Ethan asked.
"I got a plan guys!" Conner handed over his staff to Ethan. "Combine the weapons and fire when I give the signal."
He ran at the titan, the Shield of Triumph appearing in his outstretched arm as he morphed into the Triassic Ranger in a burst of flames. "Triassic Power, Engage!"
"That fancy glow up won't save you!" The titan roared, swinging his sword, which the red ranger blocked with his shield pushing the titan back.
"I am just getting started, dude!" Conner scoffed as a dragon spirit swirled around him, driving Silverback back as he became the focus of an inferno.
As the flames died down, his suit was augmented with torso armour, shin pads, mezodon bracers and two canons that rose from his shoulder.
"Battlizer, Energize!" He called out, running up to the titan and sending him staggering back with powerful kicks. His boot lit up with flames seconds before hitting him, the silver of his armour getting melted by the plasma attacks.
"Dragon Yoyo!" The dragon spirit rolled out from his hand like a yoyo, cutting through the titan.
Conner leapt to the skies, pointing his shoulder canons at the monster. He turned to where the other rangers had assembled the Z Rex Blaster and nodded.
"BATTLE BLAST!"
"Z Rex Blaster, Fire!"
Two energy beams combined to form a powerful blast that ripped through Silverback, consuming him in a huge explosion.
"We did it!" Conner whooped as he landed near the others.
"Good, but we need to get Tommy some help." Kim said, cradling Tommy who was still unconscious.
The rangers demorphed. Conner and Trent carried Tommy to the back of Kim's car. Kim and Kira sat on the front while Trent sat along with Tommy in the back. Conner tried calling someone in his phone only to give an exasperated sigh as it went unanswered.
Conner turned to them. "Hey, can any of you guys try calling Hayley? She is not picking up my calls."
"Hayley is our friend. She helped Dr O make our morphers and tech." Kira quickly told Kim, who looked at them questioningly.
"Let us try…" The others tried calling their friend only to look each other in worry.
"Maybe she has turned her phone silent?" Kira offered.
"Not like her." Trent shook his head.
"Hey, Mesagog doesn't know she helps us. There is no reason for him to attack her." Ethan said reassuringly, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"We should still see if she is okay." Conner decided. "Ethan and I will go and check on her. You guys take Dr O back to the base. We will meet up with you in a while."
"Alright." Kira nodded as the two hopped over to Conner's car and headed back into the city.
"Hey, she will be okay." Kim told the white ranger, who fidgeted with worry.
"Okay…" The white ranger nodded disbelievingly.
Kim sighed, starting her car, and heading deeper into the forest.
"I am sorry you got dragged into all this right after you came here." Kira told her.
Kim gave her a wistful smile. "It's okay. Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger."
As the rangers moved out, a strong gust of wind blew in the battlefield and dark energies converged into a solid form. Silverback growled as he was reanimated, the mark of Talos on his neck glowing with purple light. He bared his fangs, taking flight.
He may have lost the former green and pink rangers, thanks to the interference of these new rangers, but the other rangers won't be as lucky.
Billy groaned as he slowly awoke. His eyesight was blurry and every part of his body ached. The last thing he remembered was sending a distress signal to the rangers of Earth before the Central Command of Aquitar was breached and he was attacked.
His eyes widened.
What happened to the other rangers and Cestria?
Where was he?
He felt something cold on his hands. He tried to move them only to find he was unable to.
Billy looked down to see him completely bound in metallic chains. His clothes were tattered and bloody. He looked around. He was in some kind of dimly lit dungeon, chained to the wall.
He squinted as he recognised this place back from his ranger days.
"The Dark Dimension!" He gasped.
He heard a clap of hands as someone walked into the dungeon.
His eyes widened as he got a clear view of who it was. A woman with beautiful Asian features, in form fitting golden armour and ravenous hair flowing down to her waist, carrying a rapier.
"Scorpina!" He growled.
"You are not happy to see me, Billy?" She pouted at him before grinning. "I am hurt."
"How are you back?" He asked.
She came closer and Billy tried to shift back in vain as she patted his head. He tried to shrug her off, only for her to grab a fistful of his hair and pin him to the wall.
"I am surprised your big brain can't figure it out…" She giggled dementedly, letting go of him.
"Maybe this will give you a hint." She flipped her hair, exposing the symbol of a demon head tattooed on her neck.
"The mark… I have seen it before." Billy narrowed. "The monsters attacking us had the same mark."
"You will figure it out soon enough." Scorpina winked at him, before walking out of the dungeon. "I can't wait till the others come in. Will be a nice little reunion, don't you think?"
"Wait!" Billy called after her. "What do you mean? What happened to Aquitar?"
His yells echoed through the empty hall, unanswered as the villainess faded into the darkness.
