Interlude – Liberation
Mesagog fumed, turning towards Elsa as the screen showed the rangers fighting some feline humanoid with silver armour as well as grey foot soldiers.
"What is the meaning of this?" He hissed.
"I don't know, master…" Elsa fumbled, before letting out a scream and buckling to her knees, as Mesagog hit her with a psychic blast.
"Then find out!" He snarled, his claws making a screeching sound as he dug it across the metallic panels around him. "Why do I even keep you around?"
"I will…" Elsa grunted, holding her head. "Please…"
Mesagog scoffed, taking mercy on his minion and turned around while the woman in black gasped in relief and scurried away towards the exit, in fear of being attacked by the mutant again.
As she reached the lower levels of the fortress and headed towards the invisiportal generator, she heard a rumbling noise behind her.
Elsa turned around suspiciously and shook her head on seeing nothing. She shook her head. Her mind must be still reeling from Mesagog's attack.
"Why do you put up with it?"
She yelped on seeing a mysterious blond woman clad in a form fitting black leather outfit and a silver locket around her neck, in front of her.
"Who are you?" She snarled, drawing her sword at the stranger.
"Relax." The woman rolled her eyes. "I am just here to talk."
"My master is upstairs." Elsa said glibly.
"He is not the one I am here for." The woman smiled at her kindly. "You are."
"Me? Why?" Elsa asked.
"Because you are the only one in this pocket dimension with any brains. The pathetic excuse of a mutant upstairs is just like any other man. Abusing people under his power, while not lifting any finger and taking all the credit for their work."
"He is my master!" Elsa growled at her.
"Sweetie, I have been where you are. Your master would not bat an eye before feeding you to the wolves. He does not deserve your loyalty."
"He created me! My entire purpose is to serve him." She said firmly, though she could not bring herself to deny what the other woman said. Mesagog would not hesitate before destroying her if he thought she had outlived her usefulness.
"Is that so, or is it just something he has you believing, so you would work for him?" The woman raised her eyebrow.
"I…" Elsa stuttered.
"Oh, dear…" The other woman reached out with her hand but Elsa flinched backwards on reflex.
"I am not here to hurt you." She raised her hands. "Quite the opposite, in fact."
"What do you want?" Elsa asked.
"To show you the truth." The woman said truthfully. "May I?"
Elsa nodded.
The woman gently touched her forehead and closed her eyes.
"Remember." She commanded firmly and a jolt of blue lightning passed from her fingertips and into her head.
Elsa felt something snapping within her as she collapsed into the other woman's waiting arms. She felt her mind go foggy as she felt a rush of feelings she had never felt before, or rather she had forgotten. The feeling of freedom as Mesagog's hold on her mind shattered. She felt renewed and then it all came back.
She wasn't Elsa or Principal Randall… She was Regina Ramirez, the former director of Mercer Industries and Anton Mercer's girlfriend before Mesagog captured her and turned her into his obedient soldier. Her love for Anton had been twisted into blind faith and servitude towards his evil alter ego.
"Thank you!" She gasped. "You saved me."
"You are welcome." The woman smiled at her warmly. "Now let's get you somewhere safe."
They vanished in glimmer of pink light, appearing in an alley near Reefside High.
"Go find the rangers." The woman instructed. "They will keep you safe."
"Thank you." Regina repeated gratefully. "Who are you?"
"A friend." The woman nodded her head before teleporting away.
Regina looked down to see herself still wearing Elsa's clothes. She snapped her fingers and green light washed over her as she changed into the guise of Principal Randall.
She sniffed. She needed to end this, but the rescuer was right.
She needed to find the rangers and enlist their help in saving Anton and stopping Mesagog once and for all.
Hope you guys liked this short chapter. Any guesses on who Elsa's saviour is?
