Investigation Part Two

Third Person P.O.V.

After the video call from the gang, the turtles continued their exploration of the sixth floor. Having collected paper clips in the pipeways, (and escaping the rats), they eventually made their way to a stand with a bunch of boxes.

Dannie: 'Escape from Alcatraz'.

Raph: With a mouse? (scoffs) What kind of board game is that?

Leo: Who can say?

Donnie: Um guys, do you see what i'm seeing?

Up ahead, there was a spider coming. It seemed small from a distance, but as it drew near, it got bigger and bigger.

Turtles: (screams)

Laptrap: It's a monster! Run for cover!

The turtles were quick to run to the pile of board games and start climbing. 3 out of 5 used the chain while the other climbed on the boxes. Once they reach the top of the stand, away from the spider, the smooth structure made them lose their grip.

Turtles: (screams and hits the board)

Dannie: Ow.

Donnie: Did we lose the spider?

Leo: I think we did. I don't see it climbing anywhere near us.

Mikey: Dudes, look.

Everyone looked and saw they landed on an open board.

Mikey: We're giants dudes, we're huge.

Leo: Hate to break it to you Mikey, but we're standing in the middle of a board game.

Raph: So then, whose that?

Raph pointed behind him at a toy mouse behind bars.

?: Say, what's the deal? You here to spring me out of this joint, or what?

Dannie: Uh... Don't you need a court order to get out of there?

The others looked at him like 'huh?', but he didn't notice.

?: Court order? (chuckling scoffs) What are you, a lawyer? Listen, Pal. I've been wrongly accused. How'd you like to be sentenced to a life of building batteries for small toys?

Donnie: Did you say 'batteries'?

Everyone's eyes lit up as they knew batteries would help operate the Un-Shrinker.

?: Those policeman think they got me. But they haven't heard the last of Lucky Lucy! 'Specially now that you're here to rescue me.

Laptrap: Rescue her? Oh boy...

So the turtles made their way on the board.

Raph: (whispers) Are we really helping a prisoner right now?

Leo: (whispers) Can't really say since it's a game. Let's just play along and see.

Dannie: So Lucy, what's the deal? How do we help spring you out of Alcatraz?

Lucy: Not so loud, kid! (whispers) I'll tell you, there's one way out of here. It's through the roof.

Mikey: Uhh... (weak chuckles) How do you get out through the roof?

Lucy: All you gotta do is press the top of the rotunda, see? Then, use the words that the appear on the rotunda to fill in the blanks on each game card. When the correct words are in place, just put the cards in the right order and bing-bam-boom! It'll spring me right out of this dump.

Donnie: (whispers) Time to start playing for those batteries!

Turtles: (nods)

So the guys started using the rotunda to pick up word tiles to fill in the blanks on the game cards. After the first card was completed, the ball started to roll over a bridge, and went into a cannon. It flipped over to the other side, and stopped there.

Raph: That's it?

Leo: We still have more cards to fill in. It'll move when we fill up the next one.

After filling in the next game card, the cannon shot the ball out to a zoo. After going through it, the ball went into a manhole cover.

Dannie: 2 cards down, 2 to go.

3rd card resulted in the ball coming out from underground, passing some cars, loading onto a truck which backed it into a gong.

Donnie: Making good progress so far.

Once they filled out the last card, the ball went underground again under a city, was fished out by a statue with a magnet and placed next to a toy cable car.

Lucy: Hey! Don't forget to put the cards in the right order when all the words are filled in.

Donnie: Let me see...

Donnie climbed up the side of the board to get a look at the cards. Once he read them...

Donnie: We definitely got some rearranging to do.

Raph: Such as?

Donnie: Okay, each of you get next to a card. I'll point out which card goes where.

So Leo, Dannie, Raph, and Mikey each lined up in front of a card.

Donnie: Alright, Mikey. You and Dannie switch places. After that, Leo and Raph switch.

So the guys did exactly that, however...

Leo: Are you sure this reads right, Donnie?

Donnie: Not done yet. Just gotta switch one more time. Raph, take your card and put it at the top.

Raph: Got it.

Raph grabbed his card and swapped with Dannie's spot. Once the cards were in place...

(bell dinging)

The cable car moved the ball onto a boat. It crossed the water and placed the ball next to the cage which allowed Lucy to jump through the roof. But, her tail pulled her back in. Fortunately, a battery came out with her before the roof closed.

Mikey: Looks like your freedom came with some "springs' attached, Lucy! Lucky for us, we snagged a battery.

Leo: Yeah. A couple more and we're set for the Un-Shrinker.

Donnie: Looks like we're playing some more.

Meanwhile...

Eldon: Second floor, Plush Toys, Action Figures, etcetera, etcetera.

Po: (gasps in awe)

Tigress and Monkey both a hand on Po's back to reel him in.

Tigress: Po...

Monkey: Easy there big guy.

Po: (shudders in excitement)

Danny: This floor alone seems to be bigger than any toy store I know!

Serena: I want to say it's massive, but we'd have to cover the whole floor to see.

Po: I'm down for that!

?: (soft noises)

Viper: Shh. (whispers) Do you guys hear that?

Mantis: (whispers) Hear what?

Crane: ...(whispers) Sounds like a person.

Tigress: (whispers) Could someone else be here?

Everyone slowly walked over towards the sound while trying to stay hidden from view. While behind a pile of action figures in boxes, they soon saw an eagle, older than them, looking back and forth between a paper and a miniature jail building in his hands. He was mumbling to himself as he looked on, unaware of the intruders behind him.

Serena: (whispers) Who is that?

Viper: (Whispers) That's Mr. Swiffle, the owner of Ultimate Toys. His picture is in the elevator.

Po: (whispers) What's in his hand?

Danny: (whispers) Looks like a building.

Crane: (whispers) It's hard to tell what it is though.

?: What?!

Just then, he had a shocked look on his face and took off in a panic.

Monkey: There he goes.

Everyone walks over to where he dropped the paper and Tigress picks it up.

Tigress: Alcatraz Sinks!

Serena: Alcatraz? As in the prison?

Tigress: Is there any other kind?

Mantis: Maybe there was a mini jailbreak from that model of Alcatraz.

Crane: (looks at him)...Really?

Mantis: What?

Tigress: Regardless, we'd do best to keep an eye out for him. In the meantime, let's find something from one of these toys that we can use for the Un-Shrinker.

Everyone took care to not make a mess as they searched on the second floor for a useful material. Once Viper passed a box...

Viper: Hey, what about this toy shield? The plastic material could help with the Un-Shrinker.

Everyone gathered around to examine the toy.

Tigress: Perhaps. Ali-trap?

Ali-trap: (scans and beeps) Yep, this is exactly the material we need.

Serena: You heard him, we got what we need.

Monkey: One step closer to finishing this.

Tigress: Time to call the turtles again.

She began to contact the turtles while everyone gathered in the elevator.

Tigress: Guys?

Leo: We're here.

Dannie: Where are you guys?

Crane: We're only on the second floor.

Raph: Second floor? Are you guys taking your time with the toys or something?

Danny: Po would be, if we weren't around to keep an eye on him.

Po: Hey!

Monkey: You know it's true, buddy.

Donnie: How soon are you guys gonna get here?

Mantis: Only one floor at a time due to the elevator's security system.

Viper: But it does give us opportunities to collect clues along the way. Speaking of which, we managed to catch a glimpse of Mr. Swiffle, the owner of Ultimate Toys.

Leo: You saw him?

Tigress: Yeah. Here's a pic of what he looks like.

Tigress snapped a copy of his picture and sent it to the turtles. They gathered and looked at the image.

Mikey: That's the owner? Looks like an old geezer

(Dannie elbows him)

Mikey: OW!

Dannie: Remember that you and Po wanted to come here.

Leo: Does he know you're here?

Serena: No he doesn't. When we saw him, he was reading the newspaper and something flustered him so much he ran off.

Danny: We think it may be similar to what happened to you guys.

Raph: You think? You don't know for sure?

Crane: It's too early to be sure of anything. We'll know more when we get closer to you guys.

Donnie: All right. Just be careful.

Monkey: We should be telling you guys that.

Raph: Ha ha, very funny.

The call ended and everyone began the next part of the investigation.
