Chapter 13: Tying

At Fentonworks, Team Phantom was watching footage of the latest time Ghost Force defended New York from a ghost attack. "Was Myst falling?" Sam asked in confusion.

"Andy told me about it." Tucker said. "Their Ectocaps can only use so much Boo Energy before they lose the ability to fly."

"They willingly take that risk everyday?" Sam asked in shock. "Now I respect them even more."

"Me too." Danny added.

"So, still wanting to join the Ghost Force?" Tucker asked Sam with a teasing smile.

"Maybe." Sam answered after some hesitation.

"Danny, do you think Ms. Jones would like the Fenton Crammer?" Jack suddenly asked.

"Well, the ghosts the Ghost Force usually hunts are harder to defeat when they grow huge so yea, there's a chance, Dad." Danny commented.

"Awesome!" Jack exclaimed.

Maddie then showed up. "The D.A.'s office called." She announced.

"When will I testify, Mom?" Danny asked.

"You won't." Maddie answered. "Vlad Masters made a plea. He'll confess to all his crimes and return everything he stole and, in exchange, he'll spend the rest of his life in prison with no chance for a parole."

"Good." Everyone else agreed.

"Unfortunately, the Guys in White are now asking questions about a Danielle Fenton." Maddie added, shocking Danny, Tucker and Sam.

"Who's that?" Jazz asked.

After Danny told his family about his clone, it took some time before either of them spoke. "So, he gave up on trying to make you his son so he tried to clone you but got a half-ghost girl instead?" Jack asked with a frown.

"Yes, Dad." Danny sadly replied.

"May I get to know her?" Jazz asked. "I love the idea of having a little sister."

"Sorry but I have no clue to her whereabouts after helping stabilize her." Danny replied.

"Actually, she's under Guys in White custody but, what do you mean by stabilize?" Maddie asked.

Danny then decided to confess about the missing Ecto-Dejecto. Once he finished explained, his parents became worried and Jack was the first one to speak. "Daniel James Fenton, are you saying you treated this Danielle girl with what you knew to be an experimental serum that does the opposite of what its makers expected it to do and you're taking it for granted the effects will last?" Mr. Fenton asked.

"Uh, yes?" Danny replied, no longer being sure.

"Danny, we should check upon her just in case." Maddie stated.

While the Fentons were allowed to visit Danielle, Tucker and Sam weren't. "Where's Danny's clone?" Jack asked.

"She's being examined by our best operatives, Mr. Fenton." Agent Alpha replied. "And by Operatives O and K whenever it's their shift but there's always someone else with them so she won't escape like Freakshow did."

"But she's not being harmed by any experiments, is she?" Danny asked.

"No, but we cannot release her until someone becomes responsible for her." Agent Alpha answered.

The Fentons were then led to her cell. "Wow, she looks like a girl Danny!" Jack was impressed.

"I hope Andy really is Liv's only brother." Jazz commented, earning a glare from her own brother. "Just kidding."

"How did they find you?" Danny asked Dani.

"They found me when I went to visit Plasmius to be sure he's really locked away." Dani answered with regret.

"Danielle, we know our son used Ecto-Dejecto to stabilize you." Jack said. "Maddie and I don't know for sure how long you'll stay stable."

"It's okay, Mr. and Mrs. Fenton." Dani sadly replied.

"You may call me "Mom", Dani." Maddie said, surprising even herself.

"Really?" Dani asked with a smile.

"And you may call me "Dad"." Jack added.

"I always wanted a little sister." Jazz commented.

"In that case, there's some paperwork to sign." Agent Alpha stated.

Half an hour later, the Fentons (Danielle included) were back at Fentonworks. "Son, I don't know what Liv already knows about Danielle but you should tell her about this latest development before she learns from the news."

"Okay, Dad." Danny reluctantly replied and went to his bedroom to make a phone call. "Danny?" Liv asked from the other side of the call.

"Liv, I have some news that you must hear from me before the media gets word of it." Danny said.

"What happened?" Liv asked with a worried tone.

"My family's got an addition." Danny answered.

Liv smiled, not that Danny could've seen it. "Is your mother expecting?" She asked.

"Thanks for the mental image, Liv." Danny sarcastically replied. "My parents adopted a girl."

"That's nice." Liv commented.

"Yeah, but there's a complication." Danny stated. "She's actually the result of Plasmius' attempt to clone me."

"WHAT?" Liv was shocked.

"I'll tell more details the next time we meet in person, Liv." Danny said. "I only called because you needed some warning."

"I'll need some time to digest it." Liv commented.

"I don't blame you." Danny replied.

After the call ended, Tucker and Sam showed up at Fentonworks. "So, will she be going to school?" Tucker asked.

"Actually, since she never went to school before, she must be evaluated so we can know which grade to place her in, Tucker." Danny explained.

"I can tutor her in some subjects." Sam offered.

"You're not trying to make Liv jealous, are you?" Tucker accused Sam.

"No, Tucker." Sam replied with an annoyed tone.

"Who's Liv?" Dani asked.

"She's my girlfriend, Dani." Danny answered.

"I thought you were dating Sam." Dani commented.

"They could but she wouldn't confess her feelings until it was too late." Tucker replied, earning a glare from Sam. "Worth it."

"Danny, do you think Liv will be okay with you having a clone?" Sam asked.

"Well, I already told her the basics on the phone." Danny answered.

"She'll probably accept it since she's..." Tucker started commenting but Danny interrupted him.

"Tucker, that's not our secret to tell." Danny said.

"Which secret?" Dani asked.

"I won't tell without Liv's permission." Danny answered.

Looking around, Dani was under the impression she's the only one in the room who didn't know the secret. Since it was somebody else's secret, she decided not to say anything.

During the next weekend, the Fentons went to New York to visit the Bakers. "Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Fenton." Jay Baker said.

"You may call us Jack and Maddie, Mr. Baker." Jack cordially replied.

"In that case, you may call us Jay and Melissa." Melissa said.

"I hope you won't mind but we brought you a gift." Maddie commented and Jack presented a pot of fudge.

"Wow, this is so... empty." Jay said after deciding how to best describe the gift.

"There was an accident and the fudge fell." Jack explained.

"Into his mouth." Dani whispered.

"You must be Danny's little sister." Liv commented. "I'm Liv Baker."

"I'm Danielle Fenton." Dani replied. "Dani with an I."

"Please, come in." Jay said and the Fentons entered the Baker household.

"So, Danny said the both of you make movies." Jack said. "If you ever want to make a movie about a great ghost hunter, you can count on me!"

"Jack." Maddie scolded her husband.

"Sorry, Mads." Jack sheepishly said and redirected his attention back to Jay and Melissa Baker. "If you want a movie about two great ghost hunters, you can count on us."

"Actually, we're planning to go on vacation but we can give your family tickets to the premiere of Solar-Man's movie." Melissa replied.

"Awesome!" Jack happily exclaimed.

"So, does anyone want muffins?" Melissa asked.

Back in Amity Park, Danny relayed the news to his friends at Casper High. "So, do you have a ticket to spare for your good-looking best friend?" Tucker asked with a Too Fine smile.

"No, Tucker." Danny replied, afraid Tucker would make a clown of himself.

"Come on, that could be my chance to date one of those cheerleading twins." Tucker pleaded.

Paulina then decided to intrude. "Danny, I've got word that you've got tickets for the premiere of Solar-Man's movie." The shallow cheerleader commented. "Any chances there's a ticket reserved for your loved one?"

"Yes, Paulina." Danny answered. "Her parents made the movie, after all."

"Just you wait, my ghost boy." Paulina said. "It's just a matter of time until I can convince my parents to finance a studio of their own or I inherit their fortune and start the studio myself. Then what will that Baker girl have that I won't?"

"She'll have Danny." Tucker teased Paulina. It was so funny even Sam couldn't resist laughing.

"What's so funny, Manson?" Paulina asked with a glare. "You also lost him to that Baker girl."

"At least she's a better girlfriend than a shallow girl like you, Paulina." Sam commented.

"Manson, you're what New York's fashion queen would describe as "ridiculous, utterly ridiculous"." Paulina said and left.

"So, what did Liv say about letting Dani into her secret?" Tucker asked.

"Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to discuss it with Liv's parents around." Danny replied.

"So, did you discuss the possibility of making a Danny Phantom movie?" Tucker eagerly asked. "If so, please tell them I'm available to play my own role."

"Do you have your parents' permission?" Danny asked, recalling it being a point of conversation during a previous meeting with Jay and Melissa Baker.

"Not exactly." Tucker sheepishly replied.

"Anyway, we never discussed the idea of a Danny Phantom movie but my Dad tried to pitch in the idea of a movie about him and Mom." Danny said.

"If I'm already an adult by the time Liv's parents make that movie, I can appear as their son's best friend. I can see it. Dating a cheerleader." He then noticed Danny staring at him. "What? Being a movie star will increase my chances."

"I'll tell the Bakers about you if they decide to make a movie about me, Tucker." Danny replied.

"Thank you, Danny." Tucker replied.

"Danny, if the Box Ghost shows up, please let me handle him." Sam asked with a frown.

Danny then felt his ghost sense. "Let's hope it's him." He commented.

Unfortunately, it wasn't. "I'll hang your pelt on my wall, whelp." Skulker declared.

"It's never the Box Ghost when we want him." Danny commented. "I'm going ghost."

Ten minutes later, Danny captured Skulker. "Good work, Mr. Fenton." Mr. Lancer complimented his student. "Unfortunately, because of the damages caused by the ghost, today's remaining classes will be cancelled." Everyone cheered. "I'm disappointed but, since classes were cancelled, I won't punish any of you."

Dash then approached Danny. "Phantom, can the ghost hear us while in that thermos of yours?" He asked.

"Yes." Danny answered, wondering why Dash asked that question.

"In that case, thank you, Mr. Ghost." Dash said.

Danny and Jazz then went home early. "Kids, what happened?" Maddie asked and Danny told her about the ghost attack. "Danny, I'm proud of you."

"Me too, son." Jack added.

The next weekend, Liv once again went to Amity Park to visit Danny. "Good to see you again, Liv." Danny commented. "So, are you tell Dani you-know-what?"

"After carefully discussing it with the other parties, it was decided it's okay." Liv answered.

"You make it sound like a state secret." Dani commented.

"Dani, have you heard of Ghost Force?" Liv asked.

"Yes, they're ghost hunters who operate in New York and there were rumors my brother was dating Myst." Dani answered. "Are you jealous?"

"Dani, I am Myst." Liv said.

Dani laughed. "Good one. Now please tell me the actual secret."

Liv then presented her Ectocap and turned herself into Myst. "Do you believe me now?" Myst asked and then turned herself back into Liv.

"Y-yes." Dani replied.

It was a very long conversation afterwards.

Years passed, and Danny Fenton, now an astronaut, was finally about to wed his sweetheart Liv Baker. It was the most spoken of topic among the people with Sanchez Studios' first movie, The Ghost and The Cheerleader, being a close second. "I still can't believe Paulina Sanchez-Baxter got away with making a movie about her obsession with you." Best Man Tucker Foley commented.

"Paulina was quite convincing when she gave that interview that, in spite of her past crush on me, she was trying to bank on the popularity of cheerleaders." Danny replied.

"Coming from Paulina, it's quite plausible." Sam added. "The real surprise was the movie working."

"Speaking of work, did your boss let you take days off to watch my marriage?" Danny asked the goth.

"I'm on vacation, Danny." Sam answered. "What about you, Tucker?"

"I'm my own boss, remember?" Tucker triumphantly asked. "I can take some time off work."

"Don't you have stockholders and a board of directors to respond to?" Sam asked.

"If they complain, I can point out it's a celebrity's wedding." Tucker smirked.

Meanwhile, at the other side of the church, Liv was doing some final adjustments with her parents, her brother, and her sister-in-law. "Relax, Liv." Andy said. "You can go through it."

"Easy for you to say since you already married Carla." Liv replied.

"And Mike already turned Charlie into a Batman character." Andy said.

"That joke about the old cartoon wasn't funny during Mike's wedding and still isn't funny now." Liv commented.

"I disagree." Jay Baker commented.

"Me too." Carla Baker added.

"Only the both of you would." Melissa Baker said.

Minutes later, Danny and Liv went to the altar. "Olivia Baker, do you take Daniel James Fenton as your lawfully wedded husband, in health or sickness, for richer or poorer, for better or worse, until death does you part?" The priest asked.

"I do." Liv answered.

"Daniel James Fenton, do you take Olivia Baker as your lawfully wedded wife, in health or sickness, for richer or poorer, for better or worse, until death does you part?" The priest asked.

"I do." Danny answered.

"If anybody here knows any reason to believe this wedding shouldn't happen, say it now or forever hold your peace." The priest said and nobody said anything for the next 10 seconds. "By the power vested in me, I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
