Later in Class 1-A's dormitory...
Uraraka stared up at the sky, feeling really worried about Midoriya. It was still raining, but a little heavier than it did before Chrysalis left. That's all she could do was look outside as she stood on the front porch. There was a bit of damage from Chrysalis breaking in and out of the dormitory. Uraraka felt tears run down her face when she remembered the look on Midoriya's face when Chrysalis swooped down and grabbed him.
She noticed that he had snapped out of his disorientated state once she kissed him. She touched her lip unintentionally and really wanted to save him already.
She noticed that Mr. Aizawa had already arrived and had no idea what just happened. Even Class 1-M arrived soon once they got a call from Iida. AllMight ran over pretty much right away, worried about Midoriya and his mom. Mr. Aizawa was asleep when he heard some commotion going on in the common room. The thunder storm ended up blocking out some of the sound, so he didn't know about it until recently. Iida filled him in, and Uraraka could hear how annoyed and worried he was about Midoriya.
She felt something when they started talking about what to do next. She really wanted to leave right away, but then wondered where they were exactly.
Uraraka then noticed someone walking up to her and stood there by her side. It was Bakugo. He didn't say anything as she looked at him. She had a feeling that he knew what she was thinking about.
"You wanna go out there and look for him, don't you?" Bakugo asked without looking at her.
"Of course I do. Chrysalis just came in and--..." Uraraka trailed off as she tried to wipe away her tears.
They both stood there, looking out at the rainy day ahead of them. Uraraka had to guess that Chrysalis had to be somewhere indoors by now. With her wings, she wouldn't be able to get very far or at least stay outside for very long.
"Mr. Aizawa isn't going to let us go anywhere until we know for sure where he is," Bakugo said to her.
"That's ridiculous. We're going to have to go out there and search for him. That's the only way we're going to be able to find him," Uraraka said a little frustrated.
"I get it, but we do need to be careful with this one. Chrysalis could be anywhere," Bakugo said back, "Her powers are more enhanced, which means we need to be more careful than the last time we faced her."
Uraraka clenched her fists as she felt more hot tears stream down her face. Bakugo noticed and felt really bad for her. He wished he could do something to help her feel better. Then he felt something in his pocket from the last time he helped out Midoriya.
It was Uraraka's Miraculous.
He didn't know how it got there, but then he remembered Midoriya having it on him. He remembered it slipping off and it almost fell as him and Ladybug tried to carry him. He had grabbed it and had forgotten about it ever since. He felt a smile form on his face and turned to Uraraka. She noticed it and was confused.
"What're you smiling at? Izuku just got captured and you're smiling?" Uraraka pointed out.
Bakugo gently grabbed her hand, which threw her off. She felt him place something in her hand, folded her fingers over it and pushed her hand towards her.
"Whatever the plan may be, this might help you," Bakugo said to her.
Uraraka opened up her hand, and her eyes grew wide as she saw her Miraculous in her hand. She was so speechless and confused as to how he had it in the first place.
"What?! How?! Chrysalis had this, and now you?!" Uraraka cried out as she looked at it, "What happened?!"
"Deku had it when he tried to stall HawkMoth. He even used it to keep him away from U.A. I must've ended up with it in my pocket when I went after him," Bakugo tried to explain.
Uraraka held it with her fingers and took off her glove. She put it on her finger, feeling like her quirk was finally whole again. She smiled and looked up at Bakugo. She felt more tears coming as she hugged Bakugo. He wasn't expecting that, but he just let her do it anyway.
"Thank you Bakugo," Uraraka said back, "I really needed that."
Uraraka felt so much better once she saw her Miraculous in Bakugo's hand. She just felt something about her quirk start to feel more like how it used to feel. She felt bad for him though and really wished that she could do something for him. She let go of him and realized that he was looking a little flustered from her hugging him.
"Sorry about that," Uraraka said to him, "Again, thank you for this. I just wish I could do something for you since... Your quirk is..."
Bakugo's eyes widened, and Uraraka noticed how he tried to avoid looking at her. Uraraka tried to understand why he was so weird about his quirk lately. She felt bad about him losing it, but she also noticed how weird he was about it. Even back in Paris, he still acted weird about the whole thing. She wondered if it had something to do with what he told her back there. Chrysalis was watching them, and he was worried that she might've found out about a plan of his. But now that they were in Japan, she wondered if things had changed.
"Bakugo, is there something going on with your quirk?" Uraraka asked him.
That got Bakugo's attention as his head whipped up to look at her. He didn't say anything, just stared at her. She really felt like something was either wrong with it, or there was something else going on with it.
"I... I can't tell you..." Bakugo growled out, "I want to... but now's not the time..."
"Bakugo, Izuku's been taken from Chrysalis. It seems like now is the perfect time to tell me what's going on," Uraraka said back.
Uraraka noticed Bakugo contemplating on telling her the truth. She stood there, waiting for him to say something. He was about to say something when Mr. Aizawa called them inside. Uraraka really wanted to talk to him about this, but she let it go for now. They both walked in to see Ladybug and Mr. Aizawa talking. They both seemed really worried about what just happened.
"Uraraka, Bakugo, please tell me you two weren't planning on going anywhere without us," Mr. Aizawa pointed out.
"N-No sir! We weren't! We were just... talking..." Uraraka said to him, "Besides, Bakugo found my Miraculous. He gave it back to me."
Uraraka held it up, shocking Ladybug and Cat Noir. Even some other classmates were freaking out and were so happy to see it finally back with Uraraka.
"What?! How the heck did you get it back, Bakugo?" Ashido cried out.
"I got it from Deku, but now's not the time for that," Bakugo said back, "We need to go out there and find him. Chrysalis could be anywhere around Japan."
"Usually I'd be against this, but Midoriya's quirk is not something we want Chrysalis having. We need to be more careful here in Japan however," Mr. Aizawa said to them, "Chrysalis has a lot of akumas around here. She could be watching out for us, making sure we don't find them."
"Whatever it is that you're planning, I want in," AllMight said to Mr. Aizawa.
Mr. Aizawa let out a long sigh, clearly annoyed that AllMight was getting involved.
"AllMight. You and I both know that you can't be going out there with no quirk," Mr. Aizawa said to him, "I would let you help, but there's no way of letting you do that."
Uraraka nodded and let Mr. Aizawa and Ladybug plan out what to do next. Ladybug felt bad for AllMight and wanted to do something to help him get involved with this plan of theirs. Then someone came entering through the front door, soaking wet. It was Su Han, and he looked really frustrated. He looked around the common room, and then spotted the Guardian of the Miraculous.
"Ladybug! Cat Noir! What happened?!" Su Han shouted, "I saw Chrysalis taking Izuku Midoriya away! This is not someone you want to get captured!"
Uraraka noticed Ladybug looking a little nervous, but tried to stand her ground. Even Cat Noir looked a little nervous standing next to her.
"I'm sorry, Master Su Han," Ladybug said back, "But there was nothing I could do. We were in the other dormitory. Chrysalis had the upper hand in this fight. She took him, but we will get him back. We just--"
"You said you wouldn't let this happen again!" Su Han interrupted, "I thought this wouldn't take as long as it is to get the Butterfly Miraculous back! And now Chrysalis has that Izuku Midoriya's Miraculous on her! She shouldn't even have it in the first place!"
"Master Su Han. We'll get it back," Cat Noir said to him, stepping up for Ladybug, "We're planning on going out there to look for him."
"And what will that do?! She could be planning on slowing you down with a bunch of akumas! If that Izuku Midoriya kid hadn't made all of those akumas, none of this would be happening," Su Han said back.
Uraraka couldn't just stand by, watching Su Han talk down to Ladybug and Cat Noir like this. Especially when he brought up Midoriya. She clenched her fists and walked up to him. All she could do was send him a piercing glare once he noticed her.
"You're Ochaco Uraraka, right?" Su Han asked her, still focusing on Ladybug and Cat Noir.
"Yeah, I am. I'm Izuku Midoriya's girlfriend," Uraraka said back, "And it wasn't anyone's fault that this happened. Especially Ladybug and Cat Noir's."
Su Han stood tall, but let Uraraka talk to him. Uraraka noticed Ladybug and Cat Noir looking shocked to see her talking to him like that.
"Izuku didn't do anything wrong! Chrysalis is the one that made those akumas, not him. He may have accidentally started all of this, but he never wanted any of this to happen! Chrysalis is out there and has him! Instead of arguing about it, we need to be out there looking for him!" Uraraka growled out.
Everyone looked at her, very surprised to see her so determined and frustrated at someone like Su Han. She never looked away from him as he contemplated what Uraraka had just said to him.
"You seem like a pretty strong young lady," Su Han said to her, "You may be right about all of those things, but we need to keep those Miraculous away from Chrysalis. She's more powerful than ever before. With Izuku Midoriya, we all know what she's planning on doing."
Uraraka felt like stepping back as she felt her eyes drifting to the floor. She couldn't help but think about One for All and wondered if it was true that he still had a little bit in him. She was worried about what Chrysalis was doing exactly. She didn't know why, but she got a weird image of Chrysalis kissing Midoriya and tried to shake it off.
"So, what do we do Mr. Aizawa?" Iida asked him.
"We need to split up. Chrysalis and Midoriya couldn't have gotten very far with the rain," Mr. Aizawa explained to them, "She has wings and flys around, which means with the rain that she can't fly for very long. I want some of us to stay here and look after AllMight and Midoriya's mom. The rest of us will split up to look for him."
Everyone looked at each other, wondering who would volunteer to stay and help them. Soon enough, Ojiro stepped up to stay behind. Eventually Kouda and Aoyama did as well. Even Sato stayed with them so they had someone strong just in case an akuma showed up. Ladybug noticed AllMight looking a little disappointed and really wanted to help out. Then she noticed Midoriya's mom place her hand on top of his, and she knew that he would be okay. Uraraka then noticed that the rain started to lighten up as the clouds spread out a little.
"Okay," Mr. Aizawa said to them, "Everyone, split up. Iida and Yaoyorozu will come with me. Everyone else, team up with whoever you want. Just don't get in the way."
"Yes sir!" Class 1-A cried out in unison.
Uraraka decided to stick with Bakugo and noticed Queen Bee leaning in to join them. Uraraka smiled once she spotted Bakugo looking a little flustered.
"Do you mind if I join you?" Queen Bee asked them.
"Sure. The more teammates, the more chances we get to finding Izuku," Uraraka said back, "Right, Bakugo?"
Bakugo stiffened up, causing Uraraka to burst out laughing. She then noticed his face turning red, which made her laugh even more.
"S-Stop laughing! Of course we need more teammates looking for him!" Bakugo yelled at her.
Then Uraraka noticed Bakugo looking at Kaminari and Jirou. He walked away from Uraraka and Queen Bee for a moment, confusing them.
"Do you think he's trying to get them to join our team?" Queen Bee asked her.
"It looks like it. Kaminari did help a lot with Chrysalis the other day," Uraraka said to her.
Bakugo came back with the both of them, and they looked a little nervous. Kaminari looked at Bakugo like he really didn't want to be a part of his team.
"Are you sure, Bakugo? The last time I was with you, you threw me towards Chrysalis," Kaminari asked him with a nervous look on his face.
"Don't be a wimp now. Like it or not, your quirk might come in handy," Bakugo said, "So does Jirou's. She's a good teammate to have on stealth missions like this one."
Uraraka was so happy to see him actually being really good with teammates and working with others. She remembered when he would always be by himself or never want anything to do with being on a team. Her eyes lit up, realizing they actually had a really good team. Once everyone got into teams, Mr. Aizawa stood there with Iida and Yaoyorozu. Ladybug ended up giving everyone on a team a communication device from her yo-yo.
Bakugo took one and put it in his ear. Everyone seemed to understand what was going on and got ready to head out. Mr. Aizawa and Ladybug led the way as they finally exited the dormitory. Uraraka watched Ladybug and noticed that her wings weren't as fast as they once were. She looked away and focused on Bakugo. He led the team as they headed towards the front gate of the school.
"Okay, once we get out of the school campus, Jirou, we're going to need you the most on this one," Bakugo said to her, "We know that Chrysalis didn't make it very far, so we need to make sure she isn't anywhere close by."
"Of course," Jirou said back as she got her earphone jack ready.
Once they got close to the front gate, Uraraka heard someone calling out to her. She stopped and turned around to see Melissa running out of the school. She looked really worried as she held something in her hand.
"Melissa, what are you doing here?" Uraraka asked her, "I thought that you were with Hatsume."
"Y-Yes. But I heard about Deku," Melissa said back, "Please be careful."
Uraraka nodded and understood that AllMight must've told her through his phone. Then Melissa stepped up and gave her something. She didn't recognize it, but it looked like something that she had just finished.
"Please, take this and give it Deku when you get the chance," Melissa said to her, "He's going to need it."
Uraraka looked at it and was really grateful that Melissa was here. She knew that this would help him get out of Chrysalis's grasp. Uraraka grabbed it, and Melissa smiled at her.
"Go get him," Melissa said to her.
Uraraka felt a little warmed up around her cheeks, but stood tall. She nodded and ran out of the school campus with her team. She noticed Bakugo looking at what she was holding and knew right away that it was important.
"Keep that with you. That might be something Deku's going to need," Bakugo said to her.
Uraraka agreed with him and put it around her wrist. It fit around her wrist really well and kept it safe. They all ran towards an area that Bakugo seemed to know where they were. Uraraka noticed that it still looked a bit damaged, but was clearly cleaned up and repaired. Even Jirou and Kaminari were noticing how damaged it looked and wondered what could've happened here.
"What happened here?" Kaminari asked them.
"This is where HawkMoth and Deku fought," Bakugo said, "We might be able to find something if we look around here first."
They all understood and they decided to walk around the area. Uraraka stayed close to Jirou just in case she found anything, and Bakugo stayed close to Kaminari just in case Chrysalis was anywhere nearby. Queen Bee decided to walk around by herself just to see if she could find anything out of the ordinary. Then Uraraka noticed that Queen Bee was floating around using her new accessory, her mechanical wings that looked like bee wings. She struggled to use it at first, but got used to it right away.
Uraraka noticed Jirou trying to listen for anything weird or suspicious. For a while, Uraraka didn't really see anything weird. They just walked around, not finding anything. Even Bakugo didn't seem to really find anything. Jirou tried to listen for anything, flapping wings, Midoriya, anything. But there was no sign of them anywhere.
"Anything?" Uraraka asked her.
"Nope. Nothing," Jirou said back, "I feel like Chrysalis is smarter than this. She wouldn't dare come back to this area, let alone HawkMoth."
Uraraka slumped her shoulders, feeling disappointed that he wasn't here. She knew that it wasn't going to be easy, but she just really hoped that he was okay.
"Yeah. You're probably right," Uraraka said to her.
Uraraka noticed that Jirou was still listening to any signs of them anywhere, so Uraraka decided to look around elsewhere. She looked down at her ring and played around with it. All she wanted was to get Midoriya away from Chrysalis. An image of her wings and purple eyes came up in her mind, and she got a chill down her spine. Apparently Midoriya got dizzy and disoriented from her wings, but she didn't feel any of that. She wondered if it had anything to do with One for All.
Then Uraraka saw Queen Bee looking around the buildings in the area. She couldn't seem to find anything, not even something they might've dropped. She felt her shoulders slump down as she looked around some more. Uraraka was really hoping to find some sort of clue or just about anything. In the corner of her eye, she saw something flying around in the air. It was a piece of paper so for a moment, she didn't think anything of it. Then once she got a closer look at it, she ran for it to grab it.
She couldn't reach it, so she used her quirk on herself to grab it. Once she got it, everyone ran over to her noticing her finding something.
"What'd you find?" Jirou asked her.
They all looked at it, and Uraraka knew right away that it was from Midoriya's notebook. It wasn't really anything that stood out, it was just any other notebook page from his notes of pro heroes and quirks. It was a page of Ladybug and her Miraculous. They all looked at it and wondered what to do next.
"Bakugo, where should we go now?" Kaminari asked him, "Clearly Chrysalis and Midoriya aren't here."
"Maybe we should look somewhere else," Jirou said to them, "I can't hear anything weird or suspicious."
Bakugo agreed, and they started heading out of the city. Jirou kept her earphone jacks out and open to see if she noticed anything change. Uraraka looked around as they slowly made their way around the city. She noticed Ladybug and Cat Noir starting to head in their direction, but passed them along with Pegasus and Ashido. They kept going, and Uraraka didn't know where to look next. Bakugo walked around, but didn't seem to know where to go.
Uraraka looked down at the page that she found and held onto it with so much determination.
She really hoped that Ladybug was doing better than them.
Uraraka was really worried about Midoriya, especially since he was poisoned. She hoped that it wasn't getting worse. Just looking at his handwriting made her feel bad for him, whatever he was doing that the moment.
"Izuku, I hope you're doing okay..."
Another amazing chapter!
This one was a pretty good one to write! I love Uraraka and Bakugo's relationship starting to become actual friends! Something about it I find so satisfying! I don't really ship them as a couple, I definitely prefer them as friends! It just feels more natural that way! I really like where this is heading for this part of the book! Uraraka standing up for Midoriya is pretty satisfying as well! Su Han is a bit strict, and I want to stick to that.
They are finally going after Midoriya!
