1000 years ago

Enid cowers behind Kol's broad shoulders as he stands in front of her as Mikael slaughters them all mercilessly, she can hear the struggling gasp of Elijah as Mikael pulls the sword out of his chest. Finn and Niklaus have already passed. She stifles a cry as he steps over Rebekah's body, she can only assume he killed her in her sleep to spare her the trauma.

"Kol," she whimpers, pressing her face into her husband's back, trying to siphon off of him but finds her magic blocked. She must have been drugged with Lobelia, the only thing she can think of that would stop her.

" Father, stop this!" Kol yells desperately as he stands before her.

"It's okay sweetheart." The crazed voice of her good-mother makes her shrink as the air trickles with magic, "this is only temporary, you'll wake up stronger." Ester says.

Enid knows whatever they have planned it's something that will shift the balance of nature itself.

"Please mother! She's pre-!" The words on Kols mouth are interrupted as the blade pierces through both of them causing her to cry out in pain and fear her fingers immediately clutching near her stomach where the life she could feel budding dims within her as her eyes drop from the lack of blood flow.

The last thing she sees is her good- father stabbing himself.

Enid wakes up with an unneeded gasp, her hands instinctively reaching for the baby that won't ever be there.

Reaching for her phone having been woken from her nightmare cause the text ring went off she opens her message to find Elijah messaging her. The only one she keeps in contact with after the betrayal and daggering of her beloved.

She knows the only reason she isn't in the same boat is because, like Klaus, she is a hybrid.

Though, she isn't a mutt like him.

A by-product of being a siphoner is that she retained her ability to use magic post death. She and Kol had separated for a couple hundred years as the pain of their loss along with the new heightened emotions.

'Niklaus lied, I have our family. If you come to Mystic Falls by tomorrow you'll be able to see Kol, I plan to undagger everyone.' She doesn't even have to blink before her things start zipping around the hotel room she had been staying in.

'This better not be a trick.' She sends before throwing her phone beside her. Stretching with an unneeded yawn while reaching up to scratch her tangled mess of blonde curls. Enid wipes the little bit of drool that had gathered before slipping out of her bed.

"Kol," she murmurs her fingers idly playing with the ring he created with his magic as a courting gift, it stores magic for her to siphon off when she needs to, when she had been human it was a great help. Now it's just a precious treasure that signifies their love. She hasn't touched the magic still stored in it because it's Kol's magic and she'll die before she lets the little bit of him that he longs for to disappear before she figures out how to restore his connection to magic. A thousand years and they still haven't found a solution.

Tucking her head under the hot water Enid closes her eyes as the night in 1914 blurs past her eyes.

They had almost figured it out, but as usual Klaus allowed his paranoia to overwhelm them. Hell she knows the only reason she isn't in the same boat as the rest of the siblings is her hybrid status. they have a certain kinship with each other over their shared hybridness.

Enid is known as the original Heretic, a name she hates, as it was coined during her strife with Kol over the fact that she still had magic. Even now her eyes water remembering the strain it caused between Kol and her, almost even more than the loss of their daughter, when they discovered she was still able to do magic as a vampire. She believes him when he says he never strayed but she knows that he used his charm to get what he wanted.

Turning off the shower she steps out pulling magic from her own blood and letting her magic wash over her body drying everything part of her as she reaches for her clothing pulling a random graphic shirt over her head as she pulls her hair into a ponytail not bothering to get dolled for a ten hour drive. Stepping out into her temporary room she flicks her wrist watching as her things start fluttering around and piling into her suitcases.

She loves magic

As she makes her way to her car she stops some random compelling them to grab her things and bring it to her car in the guise of them being helpful, her manicured nails clicking against the buttons of her phone as she texts some of her informants wondering if they have any intel that Elijah wouldn't say. After that she presses one of the numbers on her speed dial waiting for the other to answer.

"Yes, auntie?" The New Orleans accent makes her grin.

"How's my favorite little king?" She teases grinning at the chuckle on the other line.

"I thought your favorite was the one that had the balls to try and court you in front of Kol?" She giggles into the phone at his snark.

"Well in the lad's defense our reputation wasn't nearly as fearsome as it is today, though even that seems to be declining." She muses absentmindedly, before mentally waving the thought away even though he can't see.

"Anyway, how is New Orleans, I hope you're not tormenting my witches." She asks with a slight warning having heard the unrest building.

"They are fine, as long as they don't interfere with the tension between the French coven and I then I don't care what they do, you know I wouldn't betray you." He whispers the last part.

She swallows, "I still don't know why you wish for me to keep your survival a secret but I understand it's your choice, just know I still love you and you'll always be a Mikaelson to me, sweetie."

He silent for a moment before he speaks with his voice thicc with emotion "I know, I'm just not ready." She can hear the little boy who is scared and she wishes she could just hold him, but she has to let him spread his wings.

The twerp is a couple centuries old now anyway.

"Look, the reason I called I just to let you know that Elijah has stated he is planning to undagger them all and I thought it would be only fair to let you know."

"I see," is all he says, she can hear the way he stains his emotions to be flat.

"I'm not telling you to do anything I just thought you had the right to know, it's not my place, but I do know Rebekah never intended to hurt you, she still thinks you're dead." She gives Rebekah a leg she probably doesn't deserve.

"She never came back." 'Like you' was unspoken but stated nonetheless.

"I love you," she says, not wanting to make him dwell on the subject of his anguish.

He lets out a laugh, "I know what you're trying to do, it's okay, I had you and that was enough."

"Love you auntie," he says before telling her he has something he has to deal with. She has a long drive anyway so she relents knowing the knowledge that his greatest love being awake will be on his mind.

Bonnie plucks a fry into her mouth looking past Caroline's blonde curls to side eye the two Originals sitting at the booth across the room. Elijah looks too regal to fit in in the casual set up Mystic Grill gives off. While Klaus just invades any space he occupies. They have gotten used to ignoring them despite the lingering terror Klaus always brings. Elena and Carolina having a conversation all of them just trying to keep it casual as one can when in the presence of those who could and would, and have killed them.

Bonnie looks over to where the three men of their Scooby gang as Alaric and Damon play pool while Stefan tries to keep a calm facade while in the presence of their enemy. Daring another glance a towards the two nightmares of their life's she winces as she catches the eyes of a smug Klaus, who is relishing in their uncomfort. The hybrid simply tips his head before looking back to his brother.

The whole time since they entered the bar and grill they seem to be anxiously waiting for something, or someone. It's only with Caroline's input they confirm the two are waiting for someone of the name Enid.

"Why did you contact her?" They hear Klaus ask with a growl loud enough for their human ears to hear. The hybrid impatiently taping his clawed finger on the table. she wants to roll her eyes at the blatant display.

"I simply thought that since the threat of Mikael being gone that we could reconcile with the only person who could understand what you're going through." They listen as Caroline reiterated what Elijah said.

"I don't want to listen to her sniffling about undaggering her dear Kol," their eyes widen as they realize this is someone connected to the Mikaelson's on a personal level.

"Why must you insist on leaving them in daggered anyway?" They hear Elijah say dryly.

Elena and Bonnie share a look at how flippant they are with information, either it's a trap or it's just nothing that they could use against them.

"Because they are a nuisance." They hear Klaus snear, though those who knew him would hear no true heat in his words.

The sound of the Grills entrance opening makes Bonnie instinctively turn towards the door.

The sight of a haphazard blonde walking with windswept hair and a crumbled grungy attire. Despite the lackluster attire the young woman is pleasantly pretty with her big bright blue doe-like eyes and speckle of freckles upon her nose.

If Bonnie didn't see the way the two originals stood up as she entered Bonnie would have thought she could have been a potential friend, horrid fashion aside.

"Hello little sister." The formal one, Elijah says as he takes the girl's hand. The blatant contrast of their attire makes the situation even more ridiculous as the blonde laughs, foregoing his hand in favor of launching herself into his arms like he's not one of their nightmares come true.

"Hi 'lijah." She says with a thick accent. They can see just how small she is in comparison, her head barely reaching past his collar as she tucks her head under his chin. The expression they see on the older vampire is one that reminds Bonnie of how Elena looks at Jeremy, a dotting sibling.

"What am I chopped liver?" They hear Klaus speak, making them all tense out of habit at the man's tone.

Watching warily as he stands beside them as they hug, seeing the formal man like Elijah being so casual with who can only be Enid is jarring.

They watch even more mystified as the blonde seems to debate for a moment before pulling away from Elijah and slowly hooks her arms around tugging the Hybrid's face towards her neck while pressing hers into his. They can't hear what she says into his neck but the way he tightens his arms before pressing a kiss to her temple.

"Now, can you introduce me to our audience?" The newcomer says, pulling back before turning to them with a wiry grin.

Bonnie feels her heart stop as after a moment of looking around the blonde casually waves her hand in a swishing motion causing all the mundane humans to all freeze as if they are frozen in time, only Caroline's quick reassurance soothes her fear, telling them that they are still breathing. Her fingers tighten as the casual show of strength.

Elena shifts uncomfortably when the witch turns away from them to sit down in the booth Elijah and Klaus had just been in.

"You boy," Enid says towards Matt who had been staring at the man he had just been taking an order for looking at the witch while swallowing thickly.

"Yes?" Matt says, walking towards them knowing it's futile to try and get out of it.

Her face pulled into a grimaces, "I'm tired, my ass hurts and I'm ready to take a shower, but my ever so lovable family has to be such dramatic drama queens and insisted I come to this grill so I can show a little power play." Enid says while slamming her head onto the table her behavior so unlike the other two it's a little jarring.

"Now all I want is some of the strongest you have," he takes a second to register her request through the muffled wood and then simply nods wanting to get away as fast as possible.

Though he jumps slightly at the laugh that leaves Klaus as he moves to sit beside Enid hooking his arm around her slumped body. "Oh how I've missed you my dear sister," Klaus says with a surprisingly amount of fond mirth.

All he gets in response is a middle finger thrown into his face.

A/n:

This is truly just an indulgence for Kol Mikaelson.

I'm not sure what I have for plot other than Kol and Enid being menaces.
