~Chapter 8: Sneaking Out~

It was now night time...and everyone had turned in and gone to sleep. Everyone but Raya and the other four Princesses of course. While the five Princesses were in bed inside Raya's room, with their eyes closed, they weren't at all asleep. They hadn't even changed out of their dresses they'd worn to the celebration.

Raya opened her left eye, peaking to see if there was anyone around. When she saw that there wasn't, she opened her other eye and sat up in her bed. "All clear." She said whisperingly, turning to the other four Princesses. But they didn't respond. "Hey. Hey, you awake?" She whispered.

The other four Princesses opened their eyes.

"Of course we're awake." Said Sakura as she and the other four five Princesses sat up in bed.

"Why wouldn't we be?" Tami asked.

"Yeah, what are you talking about?" Umeko added.

"I'm as awake as i'll ever be." Namaari said.

"I can see that. Come on. Let's go see my mother. And don't make a sound." Raya said before she and the other four Princesses pushed back the covers and got out of bed to put their shoes on and head for the double-doors.

...

Meanwhile, outside the palace on the left side of it, Tuk-Tuk laid on the grass-covered ground, moping about not being able to attend the celebration. Raya would've gladly let him participate in the event, but unfortunately, that had not been her choice to make, for it was her father who had instructed that Tuk-Tuk be excluded from the party. Not because he was animal, but because he was a small insect/animal-like creature, and that really upset him. If only he were just a little bigger. If only he wasn't small.

Tuk-Tuk was then snapped out of his pity-party by an blue butterfly that flew right past him. Now happy, the insect/animal-like creature curled up in a ball and rolled off after the butterfly. He soon caught up with the flying insect, unrolled himself, and watched happily as it flew around him. He then looked and saw Raya and four other girls her age exiting the palace and heading for the mountain.

Why were Raya and these girls leaving the palace in the middle of the night? Why were they headed for the temple. He had no idea. Wanting to know what Raya and these girls were up to, Tuk-Tuk curled back up in a ball and rolled off after them to investigate the matter. Raya and those four other girl were up to something and he was going to find out what. He was determined to get down to the bottom of this.

What none of them knew was that after tonight, nothing would ever be the same for them or the rest of the world again. Little did they know how tonight would be the night the world would change forever, and that the land of Kumandra as everyone knew it would no longer be...and would become a living nightmare.
