Their lunch was over and they were discussing how to keep in contact when a man walked past their table and abruptly grabbed Buffy from behind. Reacting out of pure instinct, she butted the back of her head against his face, and then quickly turned around and kicked him in the groin. When he immediately bent forward due to the intense pain she used her elbow to hit him over the back of the shoulders so he dropped down on the ground. He ended up curled into a fetal position beside their table.

On the other side of the table, her uncle merely stared for a few seconds as his brain caught up with her actions.

Smirking, he said, "Looks like all those self-defense classes you've been teaching are paying off."

"I can't teach the classes if I don't know the material inside and out." Buffy looked down at the man who, upon close inspection was crying. Had she kicked him that hard? She made eye contact again, "Do you know this clown, Uncle Alden?"

"Sure do," he replied as he came around the table and got a better view of the man's face. "He's one of the airmen we've been trying to get evidence against in our latest case. Him attacking you, means we can finally hold him and put some better pressure on him.

He glanced around the area and the outdoor cafe where they'd eaten lunch. "There are even quite a few conveniently placed cameras around. That should make this easy." Alden Parker broke into a not-so-friendly smile as he took out a pair of handcuffs.

Shortly after the unknown man was handcuffed and placed in the back of the NCIS agents' car. Parker closed the door and turned toward his niece. "For this to stick, you need to come down to the Navy Yard and give a statement. It shouldn't take long."

Buffy wrinkled her nose. Normally her encounters with bad guys, and especially the ones of the human variety, did not include law enforcement of any kind. She kicked butt and left, hopefully without the humans getting a good look at her. Clearly, her tried and true method wouldn't apply to this particular encounter.

"Sure, but it needs to be quick. I told you, I have an important meeting at three, and I can't be late. Bad guy or not, I need to be there."

He nodded, "We'll make it quick." Uncle Alden looked over at Buffy's rental. "Just follow me and we'll get it done in no time."

Under his breath, he added, "This was not how I envisioned her meeting the team..."
