A few Hylians backed away from a cave in fear, whimpering. "Okay, roshambo to see who can rescue our friend from the cave?"
"I'll take those odds."
With a nod, the two turned to each other and put their fists into their hands.
"Ro! Sham! BO!"
Both of them laid down their hands, the first chose rock and the other just scissors.
"Ha!"
"...Best two out of three?"
"Sure, why not."
"What seems to be the problem?" A voice asked as they turned to a knight approaching them, wearing an arctic wolf pattern and holding a broadsword in his hands.
"We were looking for buried treasure in the Hebra region and… well, the cave is occupied by a Gleeok! Aaaand our friend is stuck in there!"
"I'll see what I can do." He said as he walked into the cave.
"Wait, who are you?"
The knight turned his head. "The Silver Wolf."
"Wait, why Silver Wolf?" Weiss asked.
"I wasn't really creative with names when I was younger. Plus, wolves fascinated me."
"Fair enough."
"Now, where was I?"
The Silver Wolf, AKA Jacques, walked inside the cave and saw a Hylian cowering in fear behind a rock as a Gleeok snarled. Jacques picked up a rock and threw it to get the three headed beast's attention.
The Gleeok roared as it turned its attention toward him and breathed electricity, but Jacques ran around it and then proceeded to slash at the beast. The Gleeok heads looked down and tried to chomp down on him, but Jacques parried the heads and cut through the necks in one fell swoop, and then impaled the body to make it go limp, forcing the heads to fall and disappear.
"Are you all right?"
The Hylian sighed. "That's the last time I treasure hunt in Gleeok caves…"
"Good answer." He nodded as he walked over to the treasure chest to see what was so important. A Green Rupee.
"A Green Rupee?! …I thought that was a Gold Rupee!"
"Apparently not." Jacques said as he escorted the Hylian out. "You nearly lost your lives over a green Rupee."
"A GREEN RUPEE?!" The other two yelled.
"Well, it's better than a Rupoor!" The first one said, earning a smack upside the head from the other. "Ooof!"
"You kids run along now. Don't go looking into any more strange caves."
"We won't!"
The Hylians ran off.
Jacques chuckled, taking off his helmet to reveal long brown hair with a thin beard.
"...I refuse to believe you looked that good, father."
"Old men have to look young at some point in their earlier lives."
"Ooookay, fair."
"But anyway, I was known as the Hero of Hyrule at the time. Sure, some folks didn't know me, but I didn't do it for glory. I did it to protect Hyrule from powerful monsters. Heck, I made some monsters extinct because of my work."
"Did you?"
"Yes. Dodongos? Gone. Gleeoks? Yesterday's news."
"I encountered one in Din's Trial… so you probably didn't get them all."
"I missed one? Hmm, perhaps Din put monsters in her trial just to prove your strength. If that's the case, that one doesn't count then."
"I see…"
An Argorok terrorized Castle Town as Hylians fled, screaming or hiding in terror of the monster. Jacques ran straight into the heart of the town as he saw a little red haired girl hiding in a fountain with Argorok roaring, breathing fire around the town.
It was then that he laid eyes on the girl. The girl gasped as Argorok snarled and breathed fire, but Jacques quickly got in the way and blocked with his shield. The young girl looked at the man in awe after she opened her eyes.
"Picking on children, are we?" Jacques glared as the Argorok screeched at him before the two engaged in battle, Jacques making sure to guide the dragon away from the town, dodging the talons and fire breaths from the dragon.
Once they were outside, Jacques immediately got into a more aggressive stance as he lunged and slashed the dragon down to the ground, grabbing his tail and swinging Argorok into several trees.
"Wait, how could you pick up-"
"I had Silver Gauntlets."
"Oh."
Argorok shook it off and tried to fly up, but due to being thrown into trees, a few branches impaled his wing, preventing him from flying as Jacques ran up and slashed through the dragon's head to finish him off.
Jacques put his sword away and walked back to Castle Town. As he did, he saw the little girl running toward him.
He smiled, kneeling down as she immediately tackled him into a hug. "Thank you so much, brave knight!"
"You're welcome." He said, returning the hug and rubbing her head. "You're safe now."
The girl smiled, backing up with a glimmer in her eyes. "I'm Summer Rose and I'm six years old! What's yours?"
"Jacques." He responded. "You run along now."
With a nod, Summer turned around and ran back to Castle Town while Jacques looked on with a soft smile. He then turned around and walked off with a hum, but was poked on the shoulder as he turned around, only to get a big bag of Rupees in his hands.
"You forgot this!" A lady smiled and then ran off.
"Oh. Thank you."
Later…
Jacques walked through the Lost Woods, holding a map in his hands. The moment a mist surrounded him, he found himself back in the entrance. He pulled out a feather pen and crossed out an area on the map.
"I'm getting closer… just trial and error." He said and then sighed. "Of course, this is the lousiest game of "trial and error" I've ever done." He mumbled as he continued on, following the map until he eventually reached a clearing.
"Ah…" He smiled as he put the map away and walked through Korok Forest. He spotted the Master Sword in its resting place, but he paid no attention to it as he walked past it. He stopped to look at it, scratching his head.
"Why would a random sword be placed here? …Must be a warrior's resting spot." He shrugged and continued on.
He then felt the atmosphere started to grow thicker. Perfect. He thought as he hid himself behind the Deku Tree's large root. He would see a man practicing some dark magic and chanting a spell.
"That's a lovely chant." Jacques spoke up. "Too bad you're not going to win any women with your creepiness."
BGM: Disquiet (Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity)
The man turned around, chuckling to himself. "You're brave for coming out here. By your appearance, I'd say you are the Silver Wolf."
"Indeed, I am." Jacques said. "I've heard rumors of a weird creepy man stalking about Hyrule and hiding in the Korok Forest. Looks like I found you-" He noticed a few men near the main leader. "And your party. You forming some kind of cult?"
"Hahahahaha… you are aware of what happened ten thousand years ago, yes?"
"Can't tell ya. I've never taken a history class."
"Then let me teach you your ignorant ways." The man spoke. "Ten thousand years ago, a man brought waste to Hyrule known as Ganondorf. He was sealed during the Imprisoning War, but his hatred… his malice… it's starting to spread all around Hyrule. Do you feel it?"
"The only things I've felt are monsters, hugs, and the occasional cold. You gotta do better than that."
"Hmph. Well, his malice will soon awaken his pure hatred and will desecrate the land of Hyrule. It is foretold! It is a prophecy! The Sheikah that are starting to dig up ancient artifacts of the past are proof that Calamity Ganon will awaken soon!"
"Calamity Ganon"? Pah! Where'd you find that name… out of a cereal box?"
The man smirked. "You arrogantly defy the prophecy… as does the royalty of Hyrule. Calamity Ganon will destroy you pathetic fools."
"Hey, news flash. If this "Calamity Ganon" were to destroy everything, then this so-called calamity would make mincemeat out of you too."
"We will control him… and we will build a new Hyrule."
Jacques raised an eyebrow in amusement. "You cultists are all oddballs… I seriously doubt a calamity would listen to a wannabe puppet master." He shook his head. "I'm assuming I'm speaking to the leader?"
"You are, indeed. You are speaking to Astor."
"Well, "Astor"... I'm going to ask you to stop being a creep and terrorizing everybody."
"And if I refuse?"
Jacques pulled out his sword. "Then I'll ask you the hard way."
Astor smirked, dark magic swirling around his wrist as he calmly approached him. "Then do your worst."
"Man, you cultists just love being stupid, don't you?" Jacques got in a stance. "Well, I'll just go ahead and apprehend you now."

BGM: Imminent Threat (Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity)
He charged toward him, slashing at Astor but he calmly shot him with a dark bolt of lightning, which destroyed his broadsword.
"Wha…?!" He yelped as dark magic struck him in the chest, sending him flying.
"Hmph. How amusing. You think you can destroy a wizard with just a kitchen knife?"
Jacques landed on the ground, groaning. "Dammit… I crafted that myself…" He grunted as he glanced at the Master Sword near him.
"Do I really want to steal a dead warrior's sword…?"
Astor chuckled, conjuring up a dark clone of Jacques. "Have some fun with your doppleganger."
Jacques glanced at his dark clone running toward him, then shifted back toward the Master Sword.
"Forgive me, old warrior." He grimaced as he quickly grabbed the Master Sword.

The dark clone leapt into the air, swinging his sword down… only to be repelled by Jacques swinging the Master Sword at him.
BGM: The Knight Who Seals the Darkness (Hyrule Warriors: The Age of Calamity)
Astor gasped, his eyes widening as he saw what he was holding. "The Blade of Evil's Bane…?!"
"The Blade of what now…?"
"It's the Sword that Seals the Darkness!"
"The Sword that seals… what?"
"You really don't know? That's the Master Sword, you ignoramus!"
"Never heard of it, but if you're that scared of this fancy blade, then I might have some fun with you!" He said as he noticed that the blade was glowing blue. "Scratch that… really fancy." He said as the dark clone charged again, but Jacques raised the sword and swung it down, unleashing a Skyward Strike that tore through the clone like butter.
"Huh! Extremely fancy!" He chuckled as Astor backed away, and with a growl, he fired magic at him but Jacques blocked with the Master Sword, seeing the dark magic go around him. "Huh… is there a better word after "extremely", because hoo boy, I'm loving this!"
Jacques charged forward, slashing at Astor as he tried to get away, but was struck by the Master Sword. "Nnnngh!" He grunted, clutching his arm as blood trickled down it.
With a snarl, dark magic swirled around him and his men. "Next time, you won't be so lucky." He said as they disappeared in a dark portal.

Jacques nodded and turned around, walking back toward the pedestal. "This truly belongs to the old dead warrior."
"Now hold on a moment." A voice said.
"Hmm?" Jacques turned his head.
"That sword chose you for a good reason."
"Who said that?"
"I did."
Jacques looked around. "Ooookay, who are you? I don't see you."
"Turn around toward the big tree."
Jacques did so.
"Now look up."
Jacques looked up toward the Deku Tree.
"Hi there."
"Gyah!" Jacques yelped in surprise.
"That Deku Tree taught me all about how the Master Sword came to be and what "she" went through. I guess you can say that was my history lesson."
Weiss giggled. "Being taught by a tree… that sounds hilarious."
"To many, it did, but to me… it was an experience I'd never forget. Because really… who would forget a talking tree giving you the whole rundown of the Goddess Sword bestowed upon the heroine of a sky island turning into the Sword of Legend that went through all kinds of trials and tribulations?"
"Not you."
"Exactly."
Jacques walked around Hyrule Fields several years later, Master Sword strapped to his back as he turned his head to see a group of Moblins pestering a civilian. "These monsters never learn."
He charged forward and cut through the Moblins. "Don't worry, I got this-... under… control?" He blinked, seeing a few frozen Moblins plus a young lady standing there, blinking.
The lady then looked at him in annoyance. "I had that under control!"
"Well, you looked like you were in trouble so I saved you."
"I was holding those monsters back with my magic. I was going to turn them into ice sculpture, but you had to interrupt!"
"Geez, are you normally like this? I was just trying to save-"
"I didn't need saving, jackass!" She said, swiftly kicking him in the shin.
"YOW!" He yelped as she walked off with a huff.
"I don't care if you're the Silver Lion. Not everyone needs saving… some people can handle themselves just fine!"
"Oh yeah, sure… but say that to a Lynel when you come across it!"
"I don't need saving from a Lynel. I can freeze his manhood off and he'd be too embarrassed to fight." She turned around. "Which is what I'll do to you if you try to do your "hero" bullshit around me."
"Yeesh… kiss your mother with that mouth, ya devil?"
The girl turned around. "What did you call me?!" She approached him. "I'll have you know that I'm an experienced cryomancer!"
"And I'm an experienced swordsman with the Master Sword."
"And I'm a princess who sits along a forest filled with mushrooms and calls it a "kingdom"!"
"Well, with that attitude, you probably ate one that made you delusional and bitchy."
"...Oh, that's it!" She rolled up her arms. "I'm going to give you a Lanayran beatdown that you'll never forget!"
She lunged forward trying to punch him, but he casually put his hand on her head and leaned back as she flailed her arms trying to punch him.
"Stop. Ow. I surrender. Oh, the pain of it all." He rolled his eyes.
"RRRRRGH! LET ME GET CLOSER, YOU IDIOT!"
"At least buy me dinner first."
"...That is how I met your mother, by the way."
"WHAT?!"
"She was quite the hothead when she was younger. I'm amazed she hadn't killed me during our meet ups, but you know what they say… "young love" and all that. We met up on several occasions and well, her ice cold heart started to thaw out and then we started to date. And that was when I learned that she came from a long line of mages who served under the king himself, but that's not what really surprised me. What really surprised me was who King Rhoam had married."
"Jacques, I would like you to meet my best friend and queen of this land… Summer Rose."
Jacques blinked as did Summer, both staring at each other in surprise.
"Summer/Jacques?!"
"My word, you've grown to be quite handsome all these years later~!" Summer giggled.
"I didn't know you were into royalty."
Summer smiled. "Remember when you saved me from that Argorok? A few days later, I had met Rhoam who was just a prince back then. We grew close and became best friends… and then well, here we are, I'm the queen of Hyrule."
"Impressive."
"Oh, and you also inspired me."
"Did I now?"
"Your heroic bravery inspired me to be a huntress!" She said, pulling out her axe. "I call it Sundered Rose. The Sheikah eggheads decided to make something great for me… it's an axe and rifle hybrid."
"...What's a rifle?"
Summer smiled. "It's also a gun."
Jacques sweatdropped. "I'm lost…"
Summer laughed. "Come on, I'll show you. I was about to go hunt some wild birds anyway." She took his hand and pulled him away.
"Whoa!"
"You two have fun!" Rhoam laughed and shook his head.
"You definitely know how to pick 'em." Willow said.
"Indeed." Rhoam smiled.
"After that, Willow and I had gotten married, and after our first child, Winter… I had thought long and hard about my heroics and just felt it was time to hang up the sword. I needed to be there for my family, so I took the Master Sword back to the Deku Forest, saying goodbye to a dear friend. I had told the royal family and Willow all the wild stories I had, including my wife and I's first meeting.
After I hung up the sword, I didn't know what to do after that. But, with the suggestion of the royal family and my wife, they thought politics was the best choice, so I did. I took up politics and tried to run for office anywhere I could.
Hateno? They wouldn't budge. Kakariko? They wouldn't allow me to become their mayor because I wasn't a Sheikah. Zora's Fountain? …Honestly, the Zora politics confused me. That and several ladies wanted me, so I had to get out of there. Death Mountain? Couldn't stand the heat. Rito Village? I wasn't "bird-like" enough to be the elder of the village. Gerudo Town? …Couldn't even walk into town because I wasn't a vai. Of course, I knew I wouldn't had a shot with that town, but I had to give it the ol' college try. Lurelin wasn't my cup of tea, honestly."
"So what did you do?"
"Simple. I became Rhoam's advisor, his right hand man, if you will. It's a good thing I did because his general was a bit too power happy."
"Are you trying to make Hyrule a dictatorship?" Jacques folded his arms.
"I'm just saying we need to have a show of force so our enemies won't bother to invade." Ironwood said.
"By striking fear to the public while you're at it? I'm sorry, James… but I'd rather we don't give the residents of Castle Town a heart attack."
"Rrrrgh… if you would just see reason, Jacques!"
"I could say the same to you."
"General Ironwood didn't like the tight leash around his neck, but someone had to hold him back before he did something stupid with his short sightedness."
"I see…"
"And then, about four years after you and Princess Ruby were born… tragedy had struck the kingdom. That Calamity Ganon cult was rumored to have come back after many encounters I had with them. Knowing that I was a retired warrior, Queen Summer took it upon herself to hunt them down. She rallied the troops and anyone who was willing to fight by her side and went off toward the Faron Woods, which was their rumored campground.
A few days had passed and she hadn't come back. Rhoam sent out a search party to investigate. They came back with Summer's axe. From what they could tell, they were ambushed by the Yiga clan, as there were a few dead Yiga scattered around the area amongst the hunting party. A samurai sword was planted through Summer's abdomen.
Rhoam was horrified and went to investigate. I went along with him."
Rhoam gasped, seeing Summer on her knees with a samurai sword through her abdomen.
"My word…!" Jacques put his hand over his mouth as Rhoam ran to his wife.
BGM: Growing Sorrow (Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity)
Rhoam removed the katana from Summer and then cradled her. "Summer…" He whispered as he looked into her cold lifeless eyes. Tears ran down his cheeks as he held her, sobbing uncontrollably as Jacques knelt down next to her, covering her face to shut her eyes before closing his eyes, a tear escaping him.
"I thought Queen Summer died from an illness?"
"That was just a cover up that I suggested to the king. None of us wanted to let the truth out and let everyone know the queen was assassinated. The last thing we wanted is everyone to go out and start a war, so we kept things on the down low. The kingdom mourned her loss and… Rhoam was never the same after that. Her death changed him… and as such, he steeled himself and focused on the issue with Calamity Ganon, pushing his daughter to her limit which strained their relationship. You could say that… Rhoam never properly finished grieving."
"Oh…"
"And then… years later… the calamity hit."

Winter walked up the mountain opposite of where Weiss and Ruby walked. She reached the peak of the hill, finding the Spring of Wisdom in front of her.
"Good." She nodded as she closed her eyes, deeply concentrating as ice monsters rose up from the ground near her.
As she was deep in thought… the ground suddenly shook.
"Ack!" Winter yelped as she stumbled before catching her footing as her ice monsters disappeared.
At that moment, ice Lizalfos came running toward her as Winter prepared herself and fended them off, slashing them away with grace as more monsters came toward her. She got in a stance and was ready to face them all.
Suddenly, an ice wall rose up and stopped them from overwhelming Winter as Jacques came swooping in and cut through them easily before the ice wall dissipated.
"Are you alright?" Jacques asked.
"Yes, I'm fine. What just happened?"
"Have you seen Hyrule Castle lately?" Jacques pointed toward the distance as Winter looked on, gasping in surprise. What was more surprising was that she saw lasers flying everywhere and explosions happening around Castle Town.
"...The calamity…!"
"Indeed. We're too late. But Weiss and the princess are making their way to the castle as we speak."
"I just hope they're ready…"
"Indeed." Jacques nodded, before glancing at an object flying toward them. He narrowed his eyes, wondering what the object was… before his eyes widened. "GET DOWN!" He yelled, pushing Winter out of the way as a Bomb Arrow slammed into the ground.
"Nnngh!" Winter grunted in surprise as a portal opened up in front of them, revealing to be the Platinum Lynel himself.
BGM: Desperate Situation (Hyrule Warriors)
"The Silver Lion?!" Winter said in horror.
Jacques growled, getting in front of Winter as he pulled out another Longsword that he created.
"Father! You're in no shape for-"
"I've been practicing in my spare time just in case." Jacques reassured.
At that moment, they heard the roar of a dragon as Naydra came flying in to help them.
"Naydra!" Winter smiled before pulling out her swords, but the Platinum Lynel stabbed the ground, creating an explosion that knocked them away. The resounding explosion was enough to open up a pathway inside Lanaryu, where a shrine was inside the peak.
Naydra roared and breathed out ice, but the Silver Lion conjured up darkness and unleashed it toward the dragon, overpowering it and striking it, where she slowly was covered in Malice.
Jacques growled. "Winter, get into that mountain! I'll deal with this one."
"But-"
"Just go!"
"...Okay." Winter nodded as she ran inside with Naydra using the last of her consciousness to seal Winter inside of the mountain.
Jacques stabbed the ground, creating ice creatures resulting in Argorok, King Dodongo, a King Gleeok, a Black Hinox and a Lynel. He pointed his weapon at the creature where the Silver Lion smirked.
"Have at thee!" Jacques declared as they all lunged.

Back in the present…
"I had put up a hell of a fight, but… I had succumbed to my injuries from that Lynel. I've faced a good amount of Lynels in my life, including a few Silvers. That Platinum one? …I wouldn't even consider it a Lynel at that rate."
Weiss frowned. "I'm sorry that you died to that thing."
"What are you sorry for? I longed that I would go out in a blaze of glory and not dying of old age at my bedside. Sometimes the adventure still called to me even if I was retired."
Weiss nodded, then turned to behind the Goddess Statue. "So… Winter… is she…?"
"Yes. She's still in there."
Naydra let out a soft cry, pulling off a scale and dropping it, where it landed in Weiss's hands. She put it into the water where it opened up, revealing the Shrine.
BGM: Chamber of Sages (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)
Weiss turned her head, looking around until she saw a young woman embedded deep into a rock, her eyes closed and looking well preserved.
"Winter…?" Weiss approached her silently. Lanaryu's Scale glowed brightly as Winter's tomb started to disappear as Winter fell into Weiss's arms.
"Nnngh! I got ya…" Weiss whispered as she gently carried her out and put her down just in front of the Spring of Wisdom.
"Oh thank Hylia… so that's where she's been." A voice said as they looked up to see Willow approaching.
"Mom…" Weiss whispered with a soft smile yet sadded look.
"Hey dear. You look good for being dead." Jacques said.
Willow giggled. "I'd say the same to you."

Revali flew down, gently landing on Winter's torso. He let out a soft cry.
"Mmmmm…" Winter groaned as she slowly came around, opening her eyes. "Wha…?"
"Winter…" Weiss whispered as Winter slowly arose, rubbing her head and rubbing her eyes.
"Just take your time, dear." Jacques said.
Winter shook her head. "Ugh…" She started to focus on everyone. "Mom… dad… Weiss…!"
A loud screech greeted her.
Winter jumped, seeing Revali roosting on a rock.
"And… a bald eagle…?"
She heard a soft growl as she looked up to see Naydra.
"Oh, hello Naydra."
She turned around, noticing the dragon tattoo on Weiss's arm and will o wisps floating around Willow and Jacques.
"...What happened?"
Winter's gonna be needing a lot of hugs when she's brought up to speed... also, shout out to Lost who came up with this idea regarding Jacques!
