Weiss turned her head as they walked through the forest together after leaving the lake. She slowly turned around and walked off.
"Hmm? Weiss? Where are you going?"
"What forest did we walk into, by the way?"
"I think we're in the Faron Woods by now. Why?"
"I just want to check something."
Winter tilted her head and then followed Weiss. "Did you remember something?"
"Have you ever heard of the Branwen Tribe?"
"I've heard about them in passing a century ago. What about them?"
"I came across one of their survivors. Goes by Yang Xiao Long. She's the daughter of the chieftain… I think she said it was Raven?"
"Survivors…? Wait, did something happen to them?"
"The Silver Lion crossed paths with them."
Winter's eyes widened. "In our day, the Branwens were the strongest tribe in the kingdom and were allied with us. The chieftain was unbeatable… hell, not even I could best him in a friendly sparring match. To think the whole Branwen tribe went extinct over one Lynel…"
"I recently gave Yang her mother's sword. She was grateful. I was also told the Branwen Tribe was… right… here…"
BGM: Fi's Farewell (The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword)
They stopped, seeing the remains of a campground. They approached it as Weiss knelt down and picked up a mask that was charred and destroyed.
"That's the mask that symbolizes the tribe." Winter said with a frown. "I can't believe they were wiped out…"
All of them looked around with Revali in the air, making sure no one would come and disturb them.
Weiss walked over to a damaged tent, opening it up and seeing the remains of a few individuals who didn't make it. It looked like they were clutching a child between them.
"Heartbreaking…"
Winter knelt down on the ground, having noticed a dried pool of blood on a tarp, but also saw a trail of blood. She raised an eyebrow and followed it closely until it stopped at a stream of water. She crossed the stream, but saw no dried blood.
"Whoever survived… they probably drowned." She said, noting that this very river connected to Lake Hylia. She closed her eyes for a moment of silence for whoever tried to fight on but collapsed in the river.
She walked across to meet up with Weiss who had built a torch, casting a blue flame into the torch and then created an icy aura around it.
"Blue flames… I never thought I'd see it." Winter said.
"A memorial for the fallen. You think I ought to add more?"
"No. It's perfect." Winter wrapped her arm around her sister as they slowly turned around and walked away.

Beep beep!
Beep beep!
"Hmm?" Winter wondered.
"Oh, that's my Sheikah Slate telling me there's a Shrine nearby."
"Oh, neat."
Weiss followed to where the shrine was as Winter and Revali followed.
Beep beep!
Beep beep!
Beep beep!
"Kind of annoying, don't you think?"
"I just tune it out."
"I see."
Beep beep!
Beep beep!
BEEP BEEP!
BEEP BEEP!
Winter grimaced as it got louder.
"Is there a way to quiet it down?"
"I think so…"
BEEP BEEP!
BEEP BEEP!
BEEP BEEP!
"Mmmph…" Winter folded her arms, looking quite annoyed with her eye twitching. Her face lit up when she saw the shrine up ahead. Oh good~!
"Ah, there it is."
Weiss activated the shrine as the sisters and eagle went inside.
BGM: Shrine (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)
"To you who sets foot in this shrine… I am Pumaag Nitae. In the name of the Goddess Hylia, I offer this combat trial."
A Minor Test of Strength
The sisters walked in, and they were immediately greeted with a Guardian Scout, pulling out a Guardian Sword and Shield…
…And was quickly obliterated by the sisters within a few seconds before it could try to attack them.
Weiss picked up the Guardian Sword and Shield and stuffed them into her bag as they walked toward the chest and pulled out a regular boomerang, then they walked up to the shrine as Winter curiously looked at a Spirit Orb went inside her sister.

BGM: Field - Day (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)
The sisters walked out of the woods as they would see Lake Hylia in the distance, but they would also see the Lake Tower nearby. Weiss manipulated the wind around her to fly over to the Lake Tower.
"Was that Farore's Wind or her actual wind magic?" Winter wondered, rubbing her chin. "I didn't see dragon wings, so it's definitely the latter."
The tower activated as Weiss looked into her Sheikah Slate, seeing the entire world almost filled out.
"Alright. All that's left is the desert." She said as she decided to use Farore's Wind. The entirety of Hyrule flooded into her mind, as if the goddess was asking her where to go. She immediately thought of Winter as her wings shot out as she flew up into the air, flapping her dragon wings as she flew down as if the wind was carrying her to her destination.
She landed near Winter, her wings disappearing magically as her eyes turned back to normal. "So that's how it works." Weiss said.
"Incredible…" Winter said in awe.
"So, shall we?"
With a nod, the sisters walked to the edge of the Hylian Bridge, both of them looking around Lake Hylia together with Revali flying nearby.
Suddenly, Revali felt uneasy as he flew up into the air and looked around, narrowing his eyes. His instinct was telling him that there was danger…
End BGM
And danger there was, as the Silver Lion was on the other side, slowly approaching the girls in front of him.
A few Lizalfos spotted the ladies as one got up and readied to blow into his horn. However, another Lizalfos turned his head and spotted the Lynel approaching. He tilted his head, narrowing his eyes, wondering what an ordinary Lynel was doing on the bridge.
…But his eyes widened immediately. It was no ordinary Lynel.
The Lizalfos paled, quickly nudging his brother as the Lizalfos turned around and started to berate him, but noticed the Lynel. It let out a shriek that got the other's attention. They all looked at each other… before they quickly dove off the bridge and swam away to safety.
Revali let out a loud screech as the girls turned from looking at each other and chatting to see the Lynel in front of them.
"Oh… crap." Weiss groaned. "Is there a way around this?"
Winter looked at the water. "He'd probably snipe us if we went down there. I guess we have no choice."
The Platinum Lynel picked up the horn that the Lizalfos dropped and blew into it, unleashing a loud war cry that could be heard throughout the entire area of Hyrule.
Guardians stopped wandering around and looked around in confusion, scanning the area. Bokoblins hid inside their bases, Moblins ducked behind trees, Lynels readied their swords and looked around for a potential fight, Lizalfos camouflaged themselves into the water, a few Hinoxes hugged each other in fear, Talus rose up from the ground before moving away to hide to a different spot. A Molduga breached out of the sands of Gerudo and looked around in confusion before burrowing itself back in.
Wizzrobes shook in terror, Keese woke up from their slumber before going back to sleep. Zoras popped out of the water and looked around in confusion as Sidon, Neptune and Mipha looked concerned, with the latter having her trident at the ready. Gorons curled up in fear while Daruk narrowed his eyes, having his Boulder Breaker at the ready while comforting Yunobo. Nora walked out, wondering what the hell the noise was while Cinder tilted her head in concern.
At Rito Village, Revali flew around to figure out where that noise was coming from while the Rito and Kuroyurians started to protect the kids while Li looked on while clenching his fists. The Gerudo temporarily closed up their shops just in case.
"Bananas first, Yiga second! Go go go go go!" A Yiga footsoldier ordered as the Yiga grabbed what banana they could find and hightailed it out of there.
The Hylians around the land were either confused by the noise or terrified, thinking the sound was "The end is nigh" while wolves howled all across Hyrule in a unified moment… all the while the foxes tried to burrow themselves away and horses stood on their hind legs and kicked their front legs, some of them bucking off their riders in terror and ran away.
The Silver Lion finished, putting away the horn as Weiss and Winter uncovered their ears. The Lynel pulled out two blades as Weiss and Winter unsheathed their swords.
BGM: Psychostorm (Hyrule Warriors)
The Lynel narrowed his eyes at Winter, feeling like he's seen her before… but his scent pointed him towards the smaller Schnee.
"You ready?" Winter asked.
"I sure hope so."
The Lynel charged, swinging his sword at Weiss but she quickly parried with her shield and quickly thrusted Myrtenaster into him while Winter flanked him as best she could on the bridge and slashed him from the side.
The Silver Lion let out a loud roar to stun the two as he horse kicked Winter away before he stabbed the ground, creating a small explosion that knocked Weiss away… while also cracking the bridge a bit.
Weiss shook it off as the Silver Lion breathed fire, but unlike a fireball, it was a neverending stream of fire that forced Weiss to use Nayru's Love to shield herself. Winter got back up and glared, electricity crackling through her sword as she lunged, vaulting on the Lynel's back and started to attack him.
However, the Lynel roared as his whole body crackled with electricity, zapping Winter off of him as she landed on her back. "Electrical properties…?" She wondered as the Lynel roared loudly, stunning Weiss and Revali, the latter dropping off of the bridge and plunged into the water below… which gave the Lynel plenty of time to run Weiss over.
"MMMPH!" Weiss grunted, using her healing magic to heal herself up from that as she got up and pulled out her crossbow. She put an Ancient Arrow into it and aimed as the Lynel turned around and ran straight for her. Weiss aimed and fired, striking the Lynel on his chest.
The Silver Lion roared, standing on his hind legs and kicked his front legs before slamming his feet on the ground, creating a shockwave that knocked the sisters off of their feet. Weiss would see the Lynel pulling the Ancient Arrow out of his chest and snapping it in two. Her eyes widened in disbelief.
Usually the Ancient Arrow would make them disappear into the void… but not this particular Lynel!
The Lynel put away his swords as he got on all fours and started charging as Weiss got ready and tried to parry him with her shield, but he stopped before she could even bop him in the face with the shield. In fact, as she swung, he raised his fist and shoved it into her gut to send her flying back.
"Weiss!" Winter called out as Weiss was on her back, already seeing stars as the Lynel calmly approached her. Winter immediately wrapped herself in fire and unleashed a stream of fire directly at him, but he put his hand out and blocked it.
He towered over Weiss who was trying to get up from that heavy punch… and then the Lynel picked her up, proceeding to punch her in the face repeatedly.
"LET HER GO!" Winter yelled, putting up a few ice glyphs as they shot ice chunks at him. The Lynel responded by moving Weiss into one of them as an ice chunk hit in the back.
"Aaaagh!" She cried.
Winter growled. "Let. Her. Go!"
The Lynel smirked. "No."
Both sisters froze, wondering if they just heard the Silver Lion correctly.
"You… can talk?!"
"All monsters in Hyrule can speak… most of them choose not to." The Silver Lion responded before slamming Weiss into the ground, attempting to breathe fire directly into her. Weiss found her second wind and quickly rolled out of the way.
As she got up, she switched the Biggoron Sword and swung her sword down at the beast, but the Lynel caught the blade and with little effort, he snapped the blade in two. Her eyes widened as the Lynel shoved his fist into Weiss's gut.
"You disappoint me. I expected a better fight out of you."
The Lynel's fist glowed brightly before an explosion went through Weiss's body as energy shot out behind her back.
End BGM
"WEISS!" Winter screamed as Weiss was knocked back and landed on her back. The Lynel let out a fierce roar and jumped into the air, conjuring up an electric javelin and threw it down, slamming it into the bridge where not only did it make a powerful electrical explosion, but the resulting explosion was enough to make the bridge crumble as both Weiss and Winter fell into the lake below.
The Lynel landed on the ground, staring into the lake below. He pulled out a bow and aimed carefully.
Winter snapped to her senses and saw Weiss sinking into the depths. She quickly swam down, grabbing a hold of her arm as she yanked her up and grabbed a hold of Weiss' Sheikah Slate and desperately looked through her map, selecting the first shrine she could think of, warping away from them right as the Lynel fired a massive Shock Arrow.
The Lynel looked down for a few moments. The moment he realized that they did not come up for air was all the confirmation he needed. They managed to avoid the Shock Arrow.
But no matter. She will be dead anyway as far as he was concerned. He turned around and walked off as the bridge continued to fall apart behind him.
—-
Winter found herself at the Great Plateau, specifically at the Keh Namut shrine. "Weiss… Weiss… can you speak to me…? Weiss!"
Weiss said nothing, her breathing labored.
"No… no no no no no no no… NO!" She yelled as tears swelled in her eyes. She turned to see the Gerudo Canyon nearby. She clenched her fists and put her sister on her back, grabbing Weiss's Glider as she jumped down and glided her way down to the soft ground behind her.
I'm not going to make it on foot… She thought, quickly pulling out a bronze ocarina and started to play a song.
After she finished, she heard the sound of trotting as she turned her head to see a curious white as snow horse approaching her.
"...Can you take me to Gerudo Town? My sister is in need!"
The horse looked at her before nodding.
BGM: Midna's Lament (The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess)
Winter climbed onto the horse as it neighed and took off.
"Win… ter…"
"Hang on, Weiss… we're almost there. Just hang on! Yah!"
The horse obeyed, quickly taking off through the canyon as Winter made sure Weiss was securely fastened as she was determined to save her. She was not going to lose her. Weiss dying was NOT an option.
A few Bokoblins spotted her and sounded the alarm as several archers aimed and fired, but Winter lightly kicked the horse's sides, telling him to pick up the pace. The horse galloped faster as the arrows landed mere feet behind it.
They heard a screech as Revali flew down, picking off the archers with his talons before meeting up with the sisters, letting out a concerned cry for Weiss. "We're gonna make it, don't worry!" She said to the bald eagle.
Winter shot past a stable before she burst through the canyon, hopping into the desert sand as the horse galloped across the desert, speeding past an oasis.
"Come on, we're almost there. Come on…! Stay with me! COME ON!" Winter pleaded.
"Win… ter…"
"Dammit, stay with me! I'm NOT losing you!" Winter said, her voice breaking.
As they galloped through the desert, Winter heard a loud roar that echoed through the desert. She turned her head to see Vah Naboris slamming its feet on the ground and kicking up a sandstorm around it.
Naboris seemed to have taken notice of Winter as its eyes glowed as a ring surrounded them. Winter gasped, quickly putting up glyphs to surround them as Revali flew inside right as a massive lightning bolt came down, but the glyphs absorbed the impact as they kept running, thankfully out of Vah Naboris' range.
However, they were not out of the woods as the sand started to move toward them, with none of them suspecting a thing as Winter had her eyes dead set at the town ahead of her.
The sand gave way underneath as a Molduga came out and sent everyone flying as the horse landed on its side in a daze while Winter and Weiss were scattered. "Nnngh…" Winter groaned as she saw the Molduga landed in the sand as it turned to look at Weiss and "swam" its way over. "No…!"
However, before the Molduga could eat Weiss, a shield was thrown at the beast and smacked it in the head to make it change course as a spear was thrown into its forehead, causing an electrical explosion that made the Molduga cry and quickly burrowed itself into the sand and "swam" away.
End BGM
The shield and spear returned to their owner, Winter seeing a tall, tanned Amazonian warrior approaching them. The warrior had specialized metal gloves on her.
"Are you okay?" She asked Winter.
"I'm fine… but Weiss… she's in terrible shape… she had a rough encounter with a Platinum Lynel…"
The warrior's eyes widened. "She's lucky to be alive…" She said as she ran over and picked up Weiss, right as the horse got up and shook the sand out of its mane.
The amazon turned her head after hearing a concerned cry coming from the bald eagle. She smiled. "Don't worry, we'll take care of this one. I'll take you to my sister's home. Come."
"What is your name?" Winter asked.
"Pyrrha."
Pyrrha's here! And a shout out to Wyvern for suggesting that the mighty Silver Lion should speak.
