The sisters and Revali reappeared in the Shrine of Resurrection. Winter looked around the area.
"You were… sleeping in a moldy cave?"
"Yeah, and that was when my memories were a total blank." Weiss said before sighing. "And they're slowly returning."
"That's good, at least." Winter nodded.
"Come on, let's go in to where I woke up." Weiss said as she walked toward the room where she had first woken up in a hundred years.
"Weiss!"
"Nnngh… I'm fine…" Weiss said, holding on to her arm.
"Hang on, let me apply first aid."
Weiss looked at Winter as she applied bandages on her arm, but first applied some alcohol on the wound, causing her to hiss in pain.
"Why are you so interested in making sure my wounds are healed?"
"Because you're my baby sister. Just because you're the princess's Mage Knight doesn't mean you're completely invincible. Now hold still before this gets infected."
"Mmm… I know I'm not invincible, but I gotta protect her no matter what."
"Some day, you might fall in battle protecting the princess. When that happens and no one else is around, the princess will protect you instead." Winter smiled. "And If I'm not around, just pretend that I'm there watching your back."
Weiss softly smiled. "You care too much."
"We're family. That's what we do." Winter winked.
Weiss laughed. "Yeah… I love you."
"I love you too."
"Weiss?" Winter looked at her. "You okay? You were staring at that wall for a while."
Weiss turned her head, smiling. "Just reminiscing about a special someone." She said as she walked over to the pedestal.
Special someone…? Is she referring to Princess Ruby or… me…? She wondered before shaking her head. Don't get your hopes up, Winter. She turned to the Resurrection Table that Weiss slept on. Did she sleep in that? That doesn't even look comfortable at all."
"Sheikah Slate and Champion verification complete. Activating the Divine Beast's Tamer's trial."
"Tamer's… trial?"
"Associated locations have been marked on the map."
At that moment, a weapon materialized in front of them, looking like a four pointed trident.
"Take hold of the provided weapon to begin the trial."
Weiss walked over to the trident in question. Without even hesitating, she grabbed it… and felt the power getting sucked out of her. "Graaaah…!"
"Weiss?!"
Weiss fell on her knees, panting heavily. She had felt like a horse kicked her in the stomach.
"I am Maz Koshia. I now address the one who wishes to master a Divine Beast… to undertake this task requires unwavering dedication. That weapon defeats foes in one hit. However, the reverse is also true, as its wielder will also fall to a single strike."
Winter's eyes widened.
"You can use this weapon's ability only twice within a set period of time… only when it is glowing. When enough time passes, the weapon will regain its sheen along with its power. At the four marked locations within the Great Plateau… defeat all monsters present to prove your you are not up to the challenge, leave this plateau. The weapon will return, and the trial will end. You may call for backup if you so desire."
Weiss slowly rose, taking a look at the One Hit Obliterator. She grabbed her Sheikah Slate as she noticed she had more folks to summon.

Weiss walked over to the cliff edge, slowly breathing as she gripped the One Hit Obliterator.
"You sure you're okay with this?" Winter asked.
"I have to do this."
"I know… but you heard what this Maz Koshia said. If something were to hit you, you'd fall." She gently took her hand. "You're in no condition in going in swords blazing. Please… let me take point."
Weiss looked into her eyes, feeling mighty tempted to say no.

"Over here! There's a good spot!"
Winter put Weiss down inside of a cave as Ruby immediately turned around and put Crescent Rose in sniper mode while Zwei got into a position, letting out a growl. Weiss let out a groan, holding on to her wound on her side.
"Dammit… not sure how I didn't see that one coming…"
"You're gonna be fine. Just sit here and rest. We'll take point." Winter pulled out a jar and opened it up, releasing a fairy as it flew over to Weiss. "Let the fairy tend to your wounds. The princess and I-"
"Woof!"
"-And her loyal dog will keep watch."
"Haaah… okay… just don't die on me out there."
"We won't." Winter reassured as she approached the entrance of the cave. "What's it doing now?"
"By the looks of it…" Ruby looked through her scope, seeing two Hinoxes glaring at them while the third Hinox was down and out. "We're gonna be in a standoff for a while."
"Think you can shoot 'em in the eyes?"
Ruby smirked.
Chi-chick!
"Did you even have to ask?" Ruby smirked, pulling the trigger.
Weiss softly sighed. "Alright… I'll let you take point. Just don't die on me out there."
Winter nodded. "You stay hidden and attack anyone that gets too close. Don't try to play the hero here."
"Right." Weiss nodded.
"And as much as how stylistic you can be… I'm not going to let you get yourself killed."
Revali let out a small screech.
"Alright, you two go kick ass. I'll be in the shadows."
With a nod, Winter and Revali jumped off while Weiss used her paraglider to descend. She then snuck around the vicinity while Winter deliberately walked up front.
A Bokoblin that was sitting on top of a large tree trunk spotted Winter and blew into his horn to get everyone's attention. Winter brought out her sword and charged ahead as the Bokoblins charged right at her, along with a few Chu Chus.
One Chu Chu turned its attention toward the shadows and made its way over out of curiosity… only to get turned into paste by Weiss.
"Whoa… I like this!" She whispered as a Silver Bokoblin got thrown over to her during an explosion that Winter made.
The Silver Bokoblin got up with a groan, rubbing his head as he let out an angry roar… only to get smacked in the head by Weiss, where he went down for the count. "Ha! Oh, I'm loving this." She said as a Black Bokoblin rolled to her.
The Bokoblin dusted himself off, not realizing Weiss was behind him as he picked up his club… and Weiss smacked it in the head. Only problem was… the One Hit Obliterator was out of juice, so instead, he got a big goose egg on the head.
Oh… that's what he meant… Weiss grimaced as the Bokoblin turned around, pained tears running down his cheeks as he let out a screech, only for Revali to dive bomb into him to scratch him, and when the Obliterator was fully charged, Weiss smacked him in the head to finish it off.
A flock of Keese flew down toward Weiss as Revali flew through the Keese, corkscrewing and knocking down several Keese as Weiss put up a glyph to protect herself as the Keese smacked into it, causing them to be dazed as Weiss got into position and swatted them as if she was holding a tennis racket, sending them crashing into trees as one poor unfortunate Keese smacked right into a beehive, prompting the bees to sting it.
Ding ding ding!
At that moment, a Shrine rose up from the ground… but unlike other shrines, this particular one was… uh… bigger than the rest.
"What the…?" Winter looked at the size of the shrine. "That's not normal."
"Well, clearly… Maz Koshia is compensating for something."
"Hey! I heard that!"
At the same time, they both heard the sound of a young lady laughing hysterically over that.
"Oh, how I missed her laughter…" Weiss smiled as they walked into the shrine together.

"To you who walks into this shrine… I am Yokawa Ita. By the name of the Goddess Hylia, I offer this trial."
Collected Soul
The sisters walked through, where Winter immediately saw the spiked balls rolling down the ramp, then she surveyed the trial, realizing what Weiss had to do.
"...Give me your Sheikah Slate. I'd rather you wouldn't get nicked by those metal balls."
"It's only a minor nick."
"A minor nick that will kill you."
"Oh… alright." Weiss handed it over. "Here ya go."
"Thank you. I'll be back soon."
Winter walked around, fiddling with the Runes until she found Magnesis, proceeding to pick up the metal bowl and moved it around until she caught the respective balls and putting the smaller one in the ground to open up to reveal a chest, and with Winter opening it up, it was a Phrenic Bow.
She then grabbed the metal bowl and moved up the ramp with the spiky balls, pushing them back and then made her way up to where Weiss was tracing her finger on the Hylian Shield out of boredom.
"I'm back." Winter said, putting the ball into the switch.
"Sweet!" Weiss put her shield on her back as they walked toward the shrine together, where she would get a Spirit Orb.

By looking at their map, their next target was near the Plateau Tower, where they made their way over and walked ahead, and then noticed an encampment of Lizalfos.
"All yours."
Winter nodded. "Don't mind if I do." She nodded, walking ahead and drawing out her sword.
Weiss turned around and dipped her feet into the small pond, softly sighing. Instantly, she heard explosions as she turned to see fireballs rising up in the sky as one Lizalfos came crashing down onto the pond that Weiss was sitting in.
Weiss smacked it in the head to kill the Lizalfos. "Get your own pond to dip in." She said, hearing more explosions as she softly hummed. She was unaware of a laser being shot into the sky, that a decayed Guardian awakened from its slumber as the laser slammed into some unsuspecting Keese.
Suddenly, the ground shook as Weiss turned her head to see the Shrine rising up from the ground. She then heard the sound of a horn as she turned to see Winter giving her the signal. Weiss got up and went off to accompany her, noticing the smoking remains of a Guardian.
"Huh… neat." Weiss said as she activated the shrine as they went in.

Stop to Start
Weiss took one look at the trial in question. Spikes rose up from the ground repeatedly. She pulled out the One Hit Obliterator, took one look at it and then looked at the spiked floor, then she noticed the flimsy metal platforms that had to be used just to get across.
"...Nope." Weiss gave Winter the Sheikah Slate. "All yours. I'm heading back where it's safer."
Winter chuckled as Weiss went up the elevator. "I'll make you proud." She said as she used the Magnesis to put a path together, only for said path to become discombobulated within seconds. "Yeah… don't blame her."
Winter then pulled out her sword. "I've meant to show this off to Weiss a century ago after I had finally mastered this, but unfortunately, the Calamity happened." She said, raising her sword up as a glyph appeared underneath her.
"Hah!" Winter stabbed the ground as clock hands rotated before stopping at twelve, unleashing a shockwave that caused everyone to slow to a crawl. Winter hopped up on the path and walked casually across, also snagging a Forest Dweller's Shield out of a treasure chest.
"Mmm, easily flammable…" Winter mumbled as she made her way over, climbing over gears and walked over conveyor belts that slowly tried to push her into a spike wall. She rounded the corner and found slow motion swaying spiky wrecking balls.
She created several glyphs and descended as she easily got through the wrecking balls and then hopped off a platform, seeing the shine dead ahead. She made her way over and then snapped her fingers to cancel out the time dilation, where everything turned to normal as she went over to collect the Spirit Orb.
…And once she got out…

BGM: Kass' Theme (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)
"Huh?" Winter turned to the source of the noise as she saw Kass playing a song while keeping Weiss and Revali company. "Kass?"
"Oh, hello there!" Kass greeted. "Wasn't expecting you to show up here either. I came to this place to play out an ancient song. I happen to find Weiss here sitting by herself so I thought I'd keep her company with her bald eagle friend."
"I see."
"Indeed… and yet, I can't help but shake the feeling we were destined to meet each other here. How peculiar." Kass mused. "Anyway, would you like to hear the song? I had just finished playing it for Weiss."
"Sure." Winter nodded.
"Very well then!" Kass nodded and cleared his throat.
"The flames crawl, the waters rise, the lightning strikes, the wind sighs~ A beast beyond the divine four awaits a hero evermore~ Let not the sound leave horses riled~ Breathe in the breath of the wild~"

"The things I stumble upon when perusing my old master's notes… I wonder what sort of sound could alarm a horse so effectively? I have no idea myself, but perhaps visiting those locations would stir something up. It helps to open my mind to inspiration. I plan on visiting them myself.

"Well, if you ever drop by in one of those locations, be sure to drop by anytime!"
"We will." Weiss nodded as she stood up as the Spirit Orb that Winter had taken flew into Weiss's chest, then they went toward the next location that was near the Temple of Time, where they saw a camping spot, complete with patrols of Bokoblins on Stalhorses.
"Stalhorses…? I didn't know they existed." Weiss said.
"Stay right here. I'm going to give them a good send off." Winter hopped down as Weiss sat down in the tall grass.
"Flames crawl, waters rise, lightning-"
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
"-Kabooms… wait, no, lightning strikes, and the wind sighs…" Weiss recited to herself as Winter proceeded to go to town on everyone as the Stalhorses whinnied and chased after Winter. "Does it have to do with the champions and their Divine Beasts?"
The ground shook after Winter blasted a Stalhorse to pieces as Weiss stood up and activated the shrine, then they went inside.

A Major Test of Strength Plus
"Crap…" Weiss groaned before it dawned on her. "Wait a minute… does the Obliterator destroy Guardians in one hit…?" She wondered as they walked forward as a Guardian rose up from the ground.
Weiss's eyes turned draconic as she applied Nayru's Love to herself just to be on the safe side. She and the Guardian approached each other and then the Guardian swung down, but Weiss rolled out of the way and smacked it in the side with the Obliterator, destroying it instantly.
"Ha! Perfect!" Weiss grinned as they walked together, but on the other side, they only saw a switch and no shrine. "Huh, this is different…"
"Curious…" Winter mused as they stepped on the switch, where in turn, it caused the platform to lower. They looked at each other curiously before they walked over and jumped down, where they would see a labyrinth filled with Guardians.
"...Winter?"
"Yeah?"
"Cover me."
"Right!"
Both sisters took off, with Weiss smacking the hell out of the Guardians while Winter provided cover and took a few lasers to the shoulders while she fought back, not letting a laser strike Weiss.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, they're just really precise." Winter said while wincing, as she had meant to parry them with her sword as they kept going until they reached the final area, facing three Guardians at once. They quickly went to cover.
"Sooo… any bright ideas?"
"Just one." Winter said, stabbing the ground as she started up time dilation.
"Huh?" Weiss wondered as in the blink of an eye, Winter was gone and the next thing she knew, the Guardians were getting their metal butts kicked before they even had time to react. "Whoa!"
Once it deactivated, Winter was casually standing in the middle of the room. "Come on, slowpoke. The Sheikah's waiting."
"Okay… HOW did you do that?"
"Time dilation. I mastered it a long time ago and had meant to show it to you. Unfortunately, the Calamity happened before I had the chance."
"Well, color me impressed! I wonder if there's time magic I can learn."
Winter chuckled. "Well, if there was, we'd probably make a god of time really angry and fire a mega death laser at us."
Weiss snickered. "Fair point. I like to live." She said as they got the Spirit Orb.

The trio made their way to the final area, making their way to Mount Hylia. Once they got their, they would see ice monsters going about their day patrolling the area… only to get instantly melted by Winter's fire as Weiss decided to join the party, her eyes turning draconic and proceeding to burn away everything, including an ice Wizzrobe.
By the time everything melted, the shrine rose up from the ice where they went inside after Weiss activated the shrine.

Path of Light
"Geez, pitch black much?" Weiss wondered as her hand caught ablaze, but Winter conjured up an orb of light.
"Light magic."
"Oh, cool." Weiss extinguished her hand as Winter transferred the light into her sword, acting like a beacon of light.
"Come on." She urged with a smile as they walked through the dark corridor. Revali keeping really close to the light as they dodged lasers and spiked rotating platforms while walking near some torches.
"...Winter. I see some blue lights."
"Stay right there." Winter requested, giving Weiss the shining sword as she conjured up a sword of fire as she ran ahead and destroyed the unsuspecting Guardians. Winter turned around, taking her sword back as they made their way further until they reached the stairs to the shrine, where the darkness started to fade as they made their way to the shrine.

Once Weiss felt the Spirit Orb go inside her, she sighed happily and made their way out of the shrine.
"I am Maz Koshia. You have done well to conquer the trials laid before you. You are Hyrule's beacon of hope. But your trials have only just begun. The divine weapon shall lead you…"
Weiss took out the Obliterator, where it started to glow brightly before breaking apart, flying up into the sky and then separating to Zora's Fountain, Death Mountain, Hebra and Gerudo Desert.
The lights slammed down into the ground, catching the attention of the champions as monoliths rose up from the ground.
"Now that you have proven your power, a new journey awaits. Go to the four locations that will be revealed to you, and reach to greater heights than ever before."
At that moment, Weiss felt rejuvenated once more, feeling as if she was back to normal again.
"So, where to first?" Winter asked.
Weiss smiled. "Let's go say hi to Mipha."
The Champion's Ballad is well underway!
Though, I'm curious. Which DLC shrine on the Plateau gave you the most trouble? For me, it was the second one. Those damned swinging spike balls kept giving me grief...
