15,000 years ago an asteroid that is about twice the size of the asteroid that destroyed the dinosaurs on Earth was hurtling towards the reef world of Dreknon where the Nalxurs have lived. At the time Nalxur Civilization was entering the Bronze Age. Despite not being technologically advanced at the time, they were able to see a giant flaming rock hurtling towards them. For a primitive civilization this is a very frightening event. The asteroid was heading the tribe that became Dreknon's capital city of Kral. Chaos and fear spread. No one knew how to stop the flaming rock from crashing into them. Just when it seemed like a mass-extinction event was going to strike Dreknon, a mighty roar was heard and a Sky Dragon emerged from the sky and he breathed a powerful energy beam that destroyed the asteroid saving the tribe as well as all life on Dreknon.

The Sky Dragon was injured by a fragment of the asteroid while destroying it. Grateful for saving their lives the Nalxurs nursed this great beast back to health. During this time the Nalxurs grew attached to the Dragon and called him Hrozgar of the Endless Flames. Eventually Hrozgar recovered and returned to outer space where he would continue to patrol the Orzien System, especially the area around Dreknon to protect it from all that may harm it. The Nalxurs began to worship Hrozgar as a living god. It got to the point where every few centuries Hrozgar would return and the Nalxurs would feed him. Hrozgar would do this as a way to get food and to check to see how the Nalxurs were doing as the Sky Dragon grew attached to them. He has noticed that everytime he returned to Dreknon the Nalxurs are becoming a little more advanced as the centuries had passed. The religion centered around Hrozgar grew as well.

However there was a time when Hrozgar went into hibernation for three centuries. Hrozgar was slowly becoming a myth to that generation of Nalxurs. A dark time had entered Dreknon when a warlord called Aperamo Falagi had sought to take over the entire planet. He started a genocidal campaign against those who worship Hrozgar of the Endless Flames. Falagi's reasoning is that the Nalxurs will never get strong if "they keep listening to a fairy tale of how a space monster destroyed an asteroid". A rebel group led by Isaako Afakasi had fought off Aperamo and his army. For Isaako, Falagi was such a threat that he wanted every able-bodied male and female Nalxur to join the fight. Falagi refused to concede defeat as he had felt that if he can't rule Dreknon no one can. He pressed the button and fired nuclear missiles. Deep inside Dreknon's moon Hrozgar woke up from his hibernation sensing Dreknon was in danger. Falagi was flabbergasted that Hrozgar showed up and shot down the nuclear missiles before they could reach their targets. Falagi walked out of his fallout shelter only to see an angry looking Hrozgar of the Endless Flames staring at him as if to say "I know what you did, you should be ashamed and you are going to pay". Karma did end up destroying Falagi when Hrozgar breathed an energy beam at the warlord, killing him. Isaako slowly approached the beast holding Hrozgar's favorite food: Dreknonian Tang Fish, Blue Seaweed, and for dessert a green seaberry pie. Isaako knew this from reading about Hrozgar. Isaako placed the food on the ground in front of him. Hrozgar happily accepted the offering and wolfed it down, confirming to Isaako and his followers that Hrozgar of the Endless Flames is the real deal.

The Church of Hrozgar of the Endless Flame's ranks had ballooned up after preventing a nuclear war and it led to the formation of the Holy Citizen Legion of Dreknon. Many years have passed and the Nalxurs are beginning to develop space travel. When the Starbase to Orzien was being built Hrozgar watched the first construction ship leave Dreknon's atmosphere and appear to escort it towards the site where the starbase is going to be built. Most Pious Marshall Nikotemo Afakasi, who is the grandson of Isaako is now ready to lead the Nalxurs into the stars. It is uncertain how things with Hrozgar would change now that the Nalxurs are entering into space, Nikotemo hopes that it would bring them closer and that things would work out.

Author's Note: The Reef World Planet Class comes from a mod called Planetary Diversity which adds more variety to the planet classes in the game and has some pretty neat planets in it. I noticed that it modified the Aquatic Trait a little bit so it could have bonuses on Ocean Worlds (obviously), Aquatic Worlds, Reef Worlds, Atoll Worlds, and Crag Worlds. I think the Space Dragon origin is pretty cool. Since I am using the Samoan namelist for the Nalxurs I figured I might give the dragon a Samoan sounding name. Atua Tarako means "God Dragon" in Samoan.
