Chapter 02 – Tales of the Sengoku Jidai

*Nemo*

Near Kaede Village.

Musashi Province

Tokyo

1543

There is one consistent fact of life in the world of Rumiko Takahashi's Inuyasha.

Naraku is an annoying piece of shit.

I had finished my conversation with Inuyasha and his friends, inviting them to Horai after they defeated Naraku and the Shikon no Tama was gone. Inuyasha was surprised at my absolute confidence in their mission, but I saw their victory in my first life.

Naraku constantly schemes to cause the most misery to Inuyasha and people in general. This includes mind or body controlling people to attack each other, lying to people to get them to do his bidding, tempting people with demonic items including shards of the Shikon no Tama, and sending demons to cause trouble.

Naraku's incarnations are fragmental yōkai created by Naraku to aid him in his battle against Inuyasha's sword, the powerful Tessaiga, as well as keeping a better eye on his surrounding situations. Naraku was constantly releasing detachments of himself to carry out his bidding. Naraku as a manipulator would never risk his own wellbeing, content to be the puppet master hiding in the shadows

Kanna the Mirror Demon. A nigh-emotionless albino girl with the ability to reflect attacks. She looks like a little girl, but she was the first incarnation and lasted the longest.

Kagura of the Wind. A wind manipulating female demon who despises Naraku and dreams as being free as the winds themselves.

Goshinki. A hideous ogre whose jaws were strong enough to break the Tessaiga and after his demise at the claws of a feral Inuyasha, his teeth were used to create demonic sword Tōkijin, first sword of Sesshōmaru.

Kagerōmaru. The other incarnation lacking a human form, instead resembling a serpentine or eel with mantis claws and a humanoid head. An intelligent psychopath who likes eating the internal organs of others.

Jūrōmaru. The fifth incarnation of Naraku possessing great superhuman physical abilities and a toxic breathe. He was an apathetic animalistic beast and He's only loyal to his brother Kagerōmaru.

Musō was an unintended incarnation. It was Naraku's first attempt to rid himself of Onigumo's heart who still possessed feelings for Kikyō. The blob of flesh took humanoid form and after stealing a handsome bandit's face, he sought Kikyō himself. Unfortunately for the poor bastard, Naraku had to re-absorb him due to becoming unstable himself.

The Infant was Naraku's eighth incarnation, serving as the vessel for his demonic heart. By separating his heart from his body, Naraku gained virtual immortality. Once this connection was discovered, the Infant becomes a prime target for Naraku's enemies, as destroying the heart will destroy Naraku as well. Even Naraku's own heart despised him and eventually Naraku reabsorbed the infant and his shell Mōryōmaru.

Hakudōshi was an incarnation that was separated from the Infant. He was literally born when a priest cut the Infant in half attempting to destroy Naraku's heart. Taking the form of a young child, he was able to tame the horse demon, Entei. He rebelled against Naraku's control and eventually Naraku took away the only protection Hakudōshi had against Miroku's wind tunnel.

Byakuya was the last official incarnation. Naraku's tenth and final incarnation. Byakuya, of the Dreams was a moth yōkai created to replace Kagura. He didn't live long enough to become rebellious against Naraku.

The incarnation of Naraku I'm facing right now, is a new one. He's a tall, lean muscular, and attractive humanoid yōkai with gold eyes with slit pupils, dark skin, and long lavender hair. The pretty boy also has fangs, sharp fingernails, pointed ears like an elf, and purple eyeshadow. He's dressed in black-and-purple robes that make him look like ninja with some sort of demonic bow made of bone on his back. He licks his effeminate lips with his long tongue which is screaming Orochimaru vibes.

"My name is Dokujamaru" says the Incarnation, "It's a shame I won't see you fighting Inuyasha. You just had to see through my deception."

"I'm not some idiot who would fall for shapeshifting or illusions. Inuyasha, despite his protests, is a good person and his friends will keep him on the straight and narrow. Naraku is a fool thinking he could deceive me."

Did Naraku seriously believe slaughtering a village in Inuyasha's form would work? That shit might work on an emotional Kikyō or that fool wolf yōkai Kōga, or even dumbass ignorant humans, but not me.

Suddenly, ninety-nine clones of Dokujamaru appear from the shadows. Each one is identical moving like a predator in humanoid flesh. My heightened senses can also detect the smell of venom coming from their mouths and claws, meaning these aren't illusions, but physical copies.

"If we can't hurt Inuyasha using you, your demise will hurt Inuyasha." says all one hundred Dokujamaru pulling out their demon bows. As they each pull back the invisible string, an arrow of dark purple demonic energy forms. The arrows flare brightly before the hundred arrows are fired.

To me the arrows are moving in slow motion and as they get close, I draw my Zanpakutō Kurayami and I cut down all one hundred arrows faster than my enemy can perceive. The arrows when shattered explode into clouds of corrosive miasma, which would be an effective attack against Inuyasha whose always been a straightforward fighter. Unfortunately for this ninja wannabe incarnation, I could resist this kind of poison attack back when I was a human, let alone a Nomu or a Black Dragon!

As the purple clouds are blown away, there are now two hundred versions of Dokujamaru around me and I decide to even the odds - Sung Jinwoo-style.

"Arise."

I received the skill to summon the shadow elementals known as Shadow Kahn as a [Universal Gift]. My personal tribe of Shadow Kahn are the armored Knights which resemble Igris and his fellow knights from Solo Leveling. Dokujamaru loses his "smug snake" look when the knights rise from the darkness and quickly begins to panic. The poison ninjas are then impaled and sliced by the black swords of Knight Kahn.

While it is a complete massacre, my forces also receive injuries. Not only does Dokujamaru's body have venomous claws and fangs, he also has corrosive blood like the Xenomorphs from the Aliens franchise. After spray acid blood, the clones explode into clouds of supernatural toxins and demonic energy. Most of my knights are dispersed by the explosions.

A hundred more clones appear, but I've had enough of this shit, and I pierce the ground with my blade.

"Kokuryūha!" (Black Dragon Blast!)

Tapping into the draconic energy of the Black Dragon Blast, channels a devastating attack deep into the Earth, causing a cataclysmic explosion that gives birth to menacing black energy dragons. These ethereal creatures spiral upwards from the shattered ground, exuding an aura of darkness and destruction.

As the Black Dragon Blast engulfs the battlefield, Dokujamaru's true form is revealed in all its grotesque glory. The incarnation manifests as a colossal white serpent comprised of an intricate network of bone snakes fused together in a macabre display of otherworldly power. Atop this serpentine behemoth rests a human visage, its expression twisted in agony and malice as it gazes upon its adversary.

The clash intensifies as my attack finds its mark, engulfing Dokujamaru's true form in searing black lightning that ravages its composite body. The serpent-like entity writhes in pain, shedding damaged snakes that disintegrate into nothingness while new ones rapidly take their place in a grisly cycle of regeneration. Each discarded snake hisses with malevolent energy before dissolving into oblivion, fueling the incarnation's relentless bid for survival.

"Stubborn snake." I say, as my aura of shadows spreads across the battlefield. The darkness itself is harmless, but within darkness I can teleport. I could have teleported home after my short meeting with Inuyasha, but I was enjoying the walk until this a-hole showed up.

"Musokagekiri!"(Myriad Shadow Cut!)

"Impossible." is the last thing Dokujamaru says after I slice every snake in his body. Inside the shadows, my speed is near infinite, so I can cut my opponent into as many pieces as I desire.

Dokujamaru explodes like his humanoid clones, only the blast size is way bigger. It's like a miniature nuke exploding, wiping the destroyed village off the face of the map. As I walk out of the burning crater, my boots making noise on the fused glass and ash. I can imagine this crater becoming a decently-sized lake in the future.

I can also imagine Naraku being enraged that he didn't manage to make even a single scratch on me, as I shoo his "flies on the wall" away.

*Nemo*

A couple days later

Two Yōkai brothers are fighting each other in an opponent meadow. Unlike the other five hundred fights they had in there two centuries of life, this is to the death.

The first ogre, with gold eyes and bright red skin adorned with scars and tribal markings, exudes a menacing presence with his towering height of over two meters. His wild black hair and beard add to his ferocious appearance, complementing his sharp teeth, claws, and two large bull horns. Clad in striking red samurai armor embellished with black and gold accents, he wields a massive demonic sword that crackles with fiery energy.

In contrast, the second ogre is slightly leaner but no less formidable. His silver eyes set against blackened sclera convey a sense of mystery, while his dark blue skin bears scars and fewer markings compared to his brother. Tying his black hair in a traditional samurai top knot (chonmage), he possesses sharp teeth, claws, and a single white horn that sets him apart. Draped in dark blue samurai armor accented with black details, he brandishes a demonic sword infused with icy powers.

As the two yōkai brothers face off in the opponent meadow for what could be their final confrontation, the air crackles with tension and anticipation. The sun hangs low on the horizon, casting long shadows across the field as the combatants prepare to unleash their full might upon each other.

The first ogre roars with primal fury, flames dancing in his golden eyes as he charges forward with thunderous footsteps. His demonic sword ignites in a blaze of crimson fire, leaving scorch marks on the earth as he swings it towards his sibling. The heat radiating from his weapon warps the air around him, creating a shimmering mirage of intense heat.

In response, the second ogre narrows his silver gaze, a glint of determination shining through as he readies himself for the clash. Frost gathers around his icy blade, forming intricate patterns of frostbite as he meets his brother's strike head-on. The collision sends shockwaves rippling through the meadow, shattering nearby trees and sending wildlife fleeing from the scene.

Their battle rages on with unmatched ferocity and skill as each blow is met with an equally powerful counterattack. The ground beneath them trembles under the force of their conflict, creating deep fissures that threaten to swallow them whole. Sparks fly as fire clashes with ice in a dazzling display of elemental warfare that leaves onlookers breathless at the sheer spectacle unfolding before them.

"Who are you!? That is my brother's body and his sword, but it isn't my brother's swordsmanship. Tell me before you die, imposter." says the red starring down at the defeated blue. They are both covered in injuries, but the fake blue's injuries are deeper and more severe. The fake blue is losing blood quickly from a set of fatal wounds that the real blue would have blocked.

Blue smiles as dark markings appear on his face. It's an unnatural Glasglow smile that Oni aren't normally capable of. It's a cruel mocking smile that enrages the red Oni and he decapitates the Faker with his fiery sword. The heat from the blade is so intense, the body ignites and the head leaves behind a trail of smoke and embers.

"What happened to you, brother?" says Red Oni, a sad tone in his voice.

Suddenly, a pitch-black mist rises from the decapitated body and head. It moves like an intangible amorphous entity and flows into Red's body, despite the shocked Oni attempting to blast it away with his flame sword. The red oni cries out in pain as his body and soul are violated by the strange mist entity. He begins to have a seizure as something seizes control of his body. The markings on the burning face of the blue Oni fade away and appear on red oni's face. Finally, the whites of red's sclera blacken as the Oni's soul is consumed.

"My new body is barely better the old one." says the body stealing Body Stealer Yōkai to himself. His aura grows stronger and the wounds quickly heal. "Emma's accursed agents are still on my trail. Should I hide in a human body? Those weak things never last long. Perhaps I should find the Beast Lord, his body would be far stronger than this Oni General's."

"You really shouldn't talk to yourself. You never know who can be listening." I say leaning against a tree.

"Who are you? Why are you here?"

"I go by the name Lord Nanashi of Horai. As for why I am here, the fire and ice attacks make for some interesting fireworks and unlike the humans I went to investigate."

"I can't have you telling Emma's agents what you saw." says the body stealer before unleashing a powerful flame blast at me. I watch in slow motion as the bark of tree ignites and the fluids within vaporize. The tree explodes from the supernatural flame, but the splinters fail to piece me.

"You're a lot tougher than you look."

"A giant black samurai isn't tough looking?"

"Halt!"

Both my opponent and me turn to see a small group of Yōkai arrive, all dressed in the same uniforms.

Most of them are very generic near humans with odd eye, hair, and skin colorations. A red-haired elf swordsman with an obsidian-color sword. A blue-haired spearman with a blue scaly skin and a lighting spear. A pink-haired girl with a unicorn horn and a staff. A tall muscular black bald Yōkai with large gauntlets and a large spiked ball on a chain.

The last is a young woman with blue eyes and long cyan (light-blue) hair pulled up into a ponytail clad in a pink kimono.

"Botan?" I blink.

"You know me?" asks the psychopomp (spirit guide) of the Spirit World and future close friend of Yuyu Hakusho protagonist Yusuke Urameshi. "You look familiar?"

"I am Lord Nanashi of Horai."

"Oh! You're the one who takes care of the hanyō children..." Botan nods in understanding.

"Botan! Concentrate." says Blue Spearman, "The villain is before us!"

"You Spirit World soldiers are so annoying." says the body stealing yōkai, "This is supposed to be Emma's elite team? I would have taken my time if I knew my pursuers were so weak."

"I'll show you weak!" yells red swordsman, his obsidian sword covered in sparks.

"Calm down, you hot head." says the Blue Spearman, "Kagekubi has already proven how dangerous he can be."

"Dangerous?" says the body stealer Kagekubi, "I haven't shown you anything yet."

"Now!" yells Botan as the five agents of the Spirit World move with surprising speed. They appear around Kagekubi with their hands in glowing hand seals (shirushi). A pentagram of chromatic spiritual energy forms, following by a circular seal moving in clockwise. The circle then contracts and binds Kagekubi.

"Thought I was just a hot head, didn't you, body thief!" says the red swordsman, "I wish I could cut you down, but I don't want a parasite in my body."

"We can't relax until he's sealed away. He's already killed hundreds."

"Thousands actually." says Kagekubi, generating a very dark spiritual aura despite the sealing magic of the spirit world agents, "Every time I was killed by someone stronger than me, I possessed their body and consumed their soul. All their power is mine!"

Kagekubi's aura explodes outward as its strength increases a thousand-fold. The sealing spell shatters like cheap glass before the sheer pressure of his aura. The body of red ogre transforms, the armor exploding off his glowing flesh. He becomes taller and more muscular with six arms like an Asura. His skin is dark gray almost black color like volcanic ash with markings that glow like molten lava. His hair is spiky gold and his four eyes are gold lights with black sclera.

What happens next isn't a battle, it's a massacre.

Red swordsman unleashes a wave of explosive fire at Kagekubi hoping to slow the spirit world criminal. It fails miserably as Kagekubi charges through the flames and strikes the swordsman hard enough to explosively shatter Red's obsidian sword. Red is badly burnt and tumbles across the ground leaving a burning trail.

Blue spearman throws his spear surrounded by blue lightning. It has enough force to piece a mountain and enough lightning to kill a lake, but to Blue's horror Kagekubi casually grabs the spear from the air before it can hit him. Kagekubi tosses the spear and then unleashes his own black lightning that severely injures spearman.

Pink staff unleashes her pink healing magic to save her teammates, but that makes her a target to the charging Kagekubi whose surrounded by fire like a meteorite. Pink is saved, when Black Giant pulls her clear of the charge, getting burns in the process.

Black Giant swings his chained flail at such high speed it appears to become a glowing circle. It strikes Kagekubi with enough force to instantly liquify normal warriors, but only makes Kagekubi slide back a couple of meters.

"Impressive. You would have made a good meal!" says Kagekubi before he delivers a punch that sends Black Giant flying through a nearby boulder.

Kagekubi is about to strike Botan when I grab his wrist. He strikes me with his other arms, but it does nothing but dirty my face and clothing. I increase my grip and I can feel his arm break. I then toss him away like so much garbage.

The spirit world agents are looking bug eyed at me, even as pink heals them.

"Is he...is he S-Class!?" asks Red as jaw finally heals, "He could have ended this fight at any time. Why didn't he?"

"It was Spirit World business. I didn't want to interfere." I reply to Red's question.

"Such strength. Such power." says Kagekubi, the glow fading from his body like lava cooling, "I sensed it for a moment, while you were crushing my arm. The depths of the power are like an Abyss."

Kagekubi leaps at me and I strike him, but I'm surprised when my fist pierces his chest. Normally, a yōkai manipulates their demonic energy to reinforce and enhance their phantasmal bodies. Kagekubi must have inverted his process so I would one shot him! A disgusting darkness flows into me and I feel my mind drift inward.

*Nemo*

I stand in front of my library on the island. This is where my partner Kageyami transcended from a Klyntar symbiote into my Zanpakutō. The inner world of my soul.

Kagekubi's true form floats in front of me. It's an ink-black amorphous mass with glowing eyes. It becomes more and more unstable as it realizes it can't harm my soul. Kageyami made my soul an unbreakable fortress and now Kagekubi is trapped.

"Why can't I hurt you? Why can't I devour you? I want the power. I desire the power. I deserve the power! I've killed thousands! Why won't you die?! I will devour all! I will kill all! I shall become all! All shall become one! Why can't I consume you!? Why can't I hurt you?!"

Kagekubi's mind is decaying rapidly into something beyond madness. Even the mass of darkness is eroding around the edges and random eyes are opening and closing.

"Kuroyami. If you would."

An immense face with a wide fanged mouth and huge eyes appears behind Kagekubi.

*Crunch*

*Gulp*

*Nemo*

When I open my eyes, Botan and the Spirit World agents are tense, worried that I was possessed. The pink-haired healer has her staff next to me.

"Sakura?" asks Botan to the healer.

"Kagekubi's signature has vanished completely, Ma'am" says the healer, smiling, "He's dead."

"Are you sure he didn't bore himself into this guy's soul?" asks Red, suspicious.

"I'm positive. His soul is so dense, it would be like tunnelling through a shaku of Iron with a mochi."

A shaku is equivalent to 30.3 centimeters or about one foot in length. It's a common measurement in the Japan of this era. The other methods of measurement haven't been hammered in place by threat of cannons.

In the Sengoku Jidai period, the softest food was mochi. Mochi is a traditional Japanese rice cake made of glutinous rice that is pounded into a sticky and chewy consistency. Great, now I'm hungry.

It's good to know my soul is strong.

"Lord Nanashi, Lord Emma has been interested in your activities for some time." says Blue.

"All the Gods are interested in your activities. Especially Inari, Uzume, and Hachiman." adds Botan, "They are impressed with your guardianship of the hanyō."

Inari Okami: Inari is a popular kami associated with rice, fertility, prosperity, and agriculture. In some beliefs, Inari also oversees foxes and kitsune hanyō are the most common hanyō. Even the great Abe no Seimei was believed to be one.

Uzume-no-Mikoto: Uzume is the goddess of joy, laughter, and entertainment in Shinto mythology. She is known for her playful nature and ability to bring happiness to others. She is also known for using a striptease to get Amaterasu from her cave after her brother Susano-o pushed her beyond her breaking point. Uzume is probably interested in our efforts to provide hanyō children with a nurturing environment filled with positivity and laughter.

Hachiman: Hachiman is a powerful warrior deity often revered as the god of war and archery but also associated with protection and divine guidance. Horai serves as the protector for the human and yōkai families. He could also be interested in my family's annihilation of the Shitōshin who stole from the Four Symbols, the Guardian Beasts of the East.

"So, let's set up a meeting." I say calmly. I'm going to meet the overlord of hell (Jigoku). I wonder if I'll meet Koemma.

Same Day

In the Sengoku Jidai, the authority of a samurai varied significantly depending on their rank, allegiance, and individual circumstances. During this tumultuous era marked by civil wars and social upheaval, samurai held considerable power and influence, but their authority was often contingent on their relationship with their daimyo (feudal lord) and the prevailing political landscape.

In general, samurai were expected to exercise restraint and adhere to ethical principles even when faced with disrespect from civilians. The concept of "bushi no nasake" or "the compassion of a warrior" was an important aspect of Bushido that emphasized benevolence and mercy towards those who were weaker or less fortunate.

Some Samurai on the other hand became supremely arrogant. One such Samurai and his minions learned about a human mother and her two hanyō children at the edge of a small village. The arrogant Samurai decided to remove that family due to a prejudice against yōkai.

When the Samurai arrived, he found a mature woman who was once a young beauty. They also found two very different hanyō children. The sister having inheriting some of the father's eye, skin, and hair pigmentation, while the brother having inherited some of the draconic skeletal structure of his father's true form.

They also encountered Izumi in her one of her spider transformations. A powerful horned female humanoid upper body on cephalothorax of massive demon spider. They freaked out and attacked, and Izumi proceeded to beat them into the ground with little effort.

That was a couple days ago. Today, she encountered a squad of Eastern Yōkai Taiji.

The Yōkai Taiji were formidable opponents, clad in armor crafted from demon bones and wielding weapons imbued with dark energy. As they surrounded Izumi, the humans had a menacing presence filled the air with tension. Against normal yōkai, they could induce disabling fear, but Izumi remained calm and focused.

With agility and grace befitting a Spider-Woman, Izumi swiftly dodged the first strike aimed at her by a Yōkai Taiji wielding a sword made from the bones of a poisonous yōkai. A single scratch can leave a yōkai paralyzed for an hour and can be lethal to humans.

In a fluid motion, she countered with a series of precise strikes, utilizing her enhanced speed and combat experience. Her spider clan ninjutsu, learned from a counterpart, enables her to bypass their combat honed senses and deliver disabling blows.

Despite being outnumbered, Izumi's determination never wavered. She moved with calculated precision, exploiting the weaknesses in her opponents' attacks and finding openings to strike back. Her strategic mind combined with her physical prowess far surpassing her opponents. If she used her full strength, her opponents would be torn to pieces, but she doesn't want to permanently harm the ill-informed hunters.

As the clash continued, Izumi's movements became more fluid and dynamic, almost dance-like in their execution. With each strike she landed on the Yōkai Taiji, their armor cracked under the force of her blows.

Finally, the last slayer collapses to the ground, just in time for Inuyasha and his group to arrive.

Sango is upset that so many hunters have been injured and she's probably on the verge of having PTSD flashbacks to when Naraku wiped out her clan.

"Lady Izumi of Horai, wife of Lord Nanashi. That is who I am." she announces causing Inuyasha's group to pause.

"So why are you here and why are beating up Slayers?" says Inuyasha. He also notes that none of the Hunters are dead, just badly beaten by a vastly superior opponent. He suspects Naraku scheming, because when isn't that scumbag doing something.

"A few days ago, a received a message about two new hanyō children. While I was offering them a place at Horai, an arrogant fool of a Samurai attacked us. After beating him, he must have called these so-called professionals."

"Do you know these guys, Sango?" asks the kitsune kit Shippō.

"Eastern Clan. I forgot about them. They were originally part of the Yōkai taijiya village, but they broke off and formed their own village to the East. My father refused to talk about them."

"Do you know why they left?"

"My grandfather was chosen as the leader of the clan, but his brother refused to follow him. Apparently, my grandfather was not a nice person when he was young, treating his little brother as inferior and great-uncle never forgave him. "

Inuyasha can understand that as his own brother Sesshōmaru treated him like trash (and still mostly does). He would rather get impaled to a tree again than swear loyalty to that jerk.

"We didn't know you survived, Sango. We only heard about the massacre and some demon called Naraku being the cause." says one the female slayers on the ground.

"Cousin Minami. I didn't recognize you."

"New armor. Or at least it was." says Minami groaning at the bruises. She takes off her mask to reveal a face very similar to Sango's own. "Seriously, that damn Samurai. We were told they were attacked by a vicious spider yōkai. Should have known that guy was lying."

"That man is a disgrace to Samurai." says Izumi.

*Nemo*

Kichisaburo Kuno has always been prideful his samurai heritage.

The Kuno Clan is a samurai clan that originated in Shinano Province (present-day Nagano Prefecture). They are known for their military prowess and loyalty to various daimyo (feudal lords) during the Sengoku Jidai period. The clan members served under different warlords and played important roles in battles and conflicts of this era.

Those bloody battles contaminated the land and waters of the land, which led to birth a great number of yōkai that desired to kill and devour humans. While some yōkai are merely lesser gods of the ancient world, most yōkai in the current era are born from bloody conflicts and are a threat to humanity.

Kichisaburo can't stand the idea of human willing sleeping with yōkai and producing the accursed hanyō, tainting human bloodlines with that pollution. He believes protecting humanity's future is more important than the petty squabbles of the clans.

He sought to eliminate any yōkai or hanyō he encountered, but he was beaten by a woman who he believes must be a spider daiyōkai. He disliked spending so much Koban (money) to hire Yōkai Taiji, especially a branch family since the main branch was destroyed. Those slayers were also defeated and they dared to insult him when he confronted him. They didn't even return part of the money!

Kichisaburo has no choice, but to become stronger and hunt evil himself. He looks at the wooded sword in his hand. The beautiful bokken is made of polished black wood from an ancient tree of a primeval forest of gods. What's strange is while its heavily polished surface reflects the world around it, it doesn't reflect the human holding it or Kuno's companions.

"A noble-hearted man with this simple wooden sword was able to kill a hundred yōkai during Kodai" says Kuno referring to the Heian Period, "A mad man was able to kill a hundred humans with this same blade. If a man's mind and will be strong then he can control this sword. I, Kichisaburo Kuno, and my descendants will fight against evil and sorcery!"

His companions look worried at their friend/master, as they see a hint of madness in the samurai's eyes. Even they don't know the misfortune that will befall Kichisaburo's line to the modern era.

*Nemo*

"So, what will you do now, Minami?" asks Sango, sitting with her cousin on a log. Her cousin still has numerous bruises from getting beaten by Izumi and Sango convinced Inuyasha to stay for a couple days, so her cousin and clan don't get jumped by vengeful yōkai. The fact that Inuyasha agreed instead of complaining and getting "sat" by Kagome, brought a smile to Kagome's face. A smile that made Inuyasha go "scouting" to hide his embarrassment (again without mouthing off, good boy).

"I'm not sure. This mission turned out to a disaster due to that arrogant idiot." says Minami, getting her hair tied up with Sango's help, "Things have not been going good at the village. The feudal lord is beginning to pressure the slayers into not only fighting malevolent yōkai, but *all enemies*."

"You mean he wants you to fight humans!? Like Assassins!?" says Sango appalled, "We have an agreement! The demon slayers would only use their skills to hunt the supernatural! We don't harm normal humans!"

"You *had* an agreement. The daimyo only care that slayers possess supernatural abilities that can be exploited. There are even yōkai working for the daimyo as bodyguards and assassins. I wonder if one day, the Shogun will be known as the Demon King." says Minami sounding miserable, "We actually got a message from a Prophet. They say this Era of War will end in sixty years and most yōkai will vanish from the world. So even if we avoid becoming killers from the lords, our clan will die out within a couple generations."

Sango's eyes widen at Minami's words. She knew that there is a peaceful future coming to Japan, as Kagome is a time traveler from the late twentieth century. She also knew Kagome had no experience with yōkai until she was pulled into the Bone-Eater's Well by the Centipede Demon. Since then, the number of yōkai she has encountered in the modern era could fit on a single hand and most of them were attracted by jewel shards. She never realized how quickly that future was approaching.

"How about coming to live on Horai?" asks Izumi, appearing from the trees.

"Horai? You want a clan of slayers to live on an island of yōkai and hanyō?" says Minami the Slayer.

"My family came to the island because it was being invaded by evil daiyōkai. Instead of a clan of killers, you could become a clan of protectors."

"Are you sure the feudal lords won't be able to find us?" asks Minami.

"Our science and magic are far beyond anything of this era." says Izumi, then pauses. She taps a ring on her finger. A spell is activated that prevents the listeners from exposing the secrets of the speakers. It's something Irene invented since her husband likes to talk a lot. It also helps when they act like blabbermouths.

"This era?" says Kagome, then blushes that she was caught eavesdropping. She didn't intend to, but she heard them talking while gathering things.

"Most of our family came from an alternate Earth. Over two hundred years after Kagome's era." says Izumi, making the eyes of the listeners widen.

"You're from the future!?" yells Kagome. This is the first time she has encountered another time traveler.

"Not your future. An alternate Earth." corrects Izumi.

"Alternate?" says Sango not understanding modern sci-fi.

"The same way there are different realms such as the human realm, the spirit realm, and the underworld, there are other realms like Earth with different histories and rules." Izumi explaining the concept in a way the Sengoku Jidai native can understand. "Me, Lord Nanashi, Lord Oda, and his wives Melissa and Himiko all come from a future where humans are born with superhuman abilities called Quirks. They even had industries based on fighting crime in costumes."

"A superhero world? Like from the American comics?" says Kagome, looking wide-eyed.

"My co-wife Irene on the other hand is from a realm of magic and dragons."

"So why are you in our realm?" asks Sango.

"Saving people." says Izumi with an amused smile.

Irene is at the Hikawa Shrine

During the Sengoku Jidai, the Hikawa Shrine in Saitama was run by the Musashi kuni no miyatsuko, who were the ruling clan of the area. The shrine was established during the reign of Emperor Kōshō in 473 BC, and it is said that the Musashi kuni no miyatsuko migrated to the region from Izumo, bringing with them the worship of Susanoo. The shrine's tradition holds that they brought Susanoo's worship with them when they settled in the area.

Disguised as a travelling priestess, Irene under the false name of Ayame, was welcomed by the shrine maiden Reina. Rei has long black hair that has a slight purple tint, purple eyes, and red earrings. The young miko is considered very powerful by modern (sengoku jidai) standards, tho she is considered inferior to the spiritualists of Heian era. Her connection to the power of the sacred flames earned her the title Reina of the Flames.

They are currently sitting together having a private conversation.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Ayame."

Irene notices how she said her assumed name.

"You know that's not my name."

"Yes. I look into the flames and see the past and future. You are not human, but you're a protector of the innocent, so I don't fear you. I saw you in future defending this shrine from monsters, still as young and beautiful as you are today. I apologize for my descendant; she tends to jump to conclusions about strong powers."

"Your ability to see into the flows of time is impressive, Reina. My true name is Irene, also known as Irene the Sage Dragon."

"A dragon? That makes sense. Your power even hidden is far too strong, but be anything less than a dragon." says Reina, "You came here on a Quest from some sort of higher being?"

"The first part is to learn the origin of your power."

"Even I am not sure of my power's source, but my mother Suzu was caught in a fire when she was a child and found herself in the far future. She was adopted and raised as Suzuko. She was raised in a peaceful era, ignorant of war, until she was caught in a gas explosion and transported back to the past with her neighbor Shuhei, who became her husband Shukumaru. I didn't inherit the Fire Tripper ability, but I can see into past and future using fire."

"The second part is unlocked. It's..." says Irene, getting up

"...to protect me!" finishes Reina, getting behind her.

The threat arrives in the form of a distorted woman, a creature known as a Yōma.

The Yōma (or Youma) has fiery red hair that flows like flames, with eyes that gleam with an intense orange glow. Her skin is a deep crimson color, resembling smoldering embers. She is adorned in armor-like attire made of obsidian black material that shimmers like cooled lava. The design would incorporate intricate patterns reminiscent of ancient Japanese warrior garb, but with a supernatural and otherworldly flair. Her body is radiating so much heat the tatami mat beneath her is smoking and steam is pouring from her mouth.

If the Yōma can speak intelligently, she doesn't bother to be civil. Instead, the Yōma unleashes her flame breath to incinerate the two priestesses and complete her mission. The monster is then enraged when her flames are blocked by a shimmering red barrier that appears around the two. Irene's barrier then explodes outward, extinguishing the flames and covering the room in a layer of frost.

Miko and Kannushi (Priests) rush in hearing the commotion and are shocked to see traveler Ayame protecting Reina from some sort of fire monster. The monster doesn't like witnesses and tosses fireballs at them, striking and severely injuring the shoulder of one Kannushi who falls down screaming in pain from the supernatural burns.

The distraction proves to be a mistake, as Ayame (Irene) binds the Fire Yōma will an enchantment and then Reina uses her own spiritual attack. She forges a fiery bow from her spiritual energies, pulls back the string to create a fiery arrow, and then shoots. The Fire Yōma is unharmed by the fire aspect of the arrow, but the holy element burns her undead flesh.

Irene ducks when another Fire Yōma appears and attacks her from behind, before the one in front of her vanishes. Irene proves that despite being an Enchantress, she is far superior hand to hand fighter than the demon. The Fire Yōma continues to teleport like that one Hero from her husband's world, the one her husband compared to the comic book hero Nightcrawler.

Irene finally nails it with a punch that sends the demon flying through several paper walls and bouncing off a sacred tree hard enough to give the monster a severe concussion.

Irene and Reina then launch their attacks at the same time.

Irene gathers her magical flames around her into a sphere of magical plasma, that then transforms into an eastern-dragon-shaped blast of crimson flames with a roar.

Reina is surrounded by fiery lights of spiritual energy that gather in her hand and form another fiery bow. This time when she pulls back the arrow, the entire shrine sings with sacred energy as if unified to remove the vile impurity on its land. As she releases the arrow, it becomes a brilliant beam of fiery energy.

The Yōma roars in pain as the two fire attacks hit him.

Her stolen power – The Fire Tripper – tries to use the two flames to teleport, but the dragon and sacred flames pull her in different directions. The terrified Miko and Kannushi watch as the Fire Yōma's image becomes distorted like looking through broken crystal. The Fire Yōma's body is torn apart on a level most of the witnesses can't comprehend.

When the lights die down, what remains of the Fire Yōma makes some of the weaker hearted Miko and Kannushi faint. It resembles two Fire Yōma fused together in a form of body horror that would impress the twentieth century director David Cronenberg. It's alive for barely a couple seconds, before it perishes and its mutated body turns to ash and crumbles. Even the powdery ash sublimates leaving nothing behind on the floor.

"Thank you." says Reina to Irene.

"I'll always help a friend." says Irene, moving towards the injured Kannushi

"Friend." says Reina as if unfamiliar with the word, then smiles.

Irene points her palm at the injured priest and his burns heal before the surprised eyes of everyone. Only Reina doesn't look surprised.

For centuries to come. Hikawa Shrine would tell the tale of the "Priestess of Horai Island".

The Goshinboku ("Sacred Tree"), also known as the Jidai-ju ("Tree of Ages" or "Era Tree") or the Goshinjidai-ju ("Sacred Tree of Ages" or "Era Sacred Tree"), was where Kikyō first sealed Inuyasha in the Feudal Era with her arrow at the brink of her demise. The Tree of Ages is far more than that.

The Trees themselves are connected to time – past, present, and future – and are manifestations of the world's desire to preserve the world. These trees possess a guardian spirit of time. These trees have existed in various forms throughout the world and history, sealing away supernatural powers until the correct time. The wood from the Goshinboku was even used to create Bone-Eater's Well which allowed timelines to be connected.

"To destroy the Shikon no Tama." says Oda standing before the Goshinboku in one of his disguises, his voice unheard by others, "You needed Kagome to come back to the Feudal Era so she and Inuyasha could erase its existence. You also need the children to defeat the Eastern Lord's mad plans."

"Who are you, boy?" says the aged voice of Kaede, elderly sister of Kikyō.

Oda turns to her revealing a young innocent face,

"Hello Obaasan, I'm Nobu – a travelling merchant. I heard stories that a demon was sealed to this huge tree and wanted to see it!" he says, pulling off the 'excited idiot of youth' voice.

"Looking for sealed demons is not a wise choice."

"But he was supposed to be sealed and I wouldn't unseal a demon. I just wanted a look."

"You're too late, boy. Inuyasha has been freed from the tree."

"Isn't that really bad news!?"

"Nay, boy. It was revealed that my sister Kikyō and Inuyasha were tricked by a demon called Naraku. He and Kikyō's successor are now travelling together."

"Hunting shards of the Shikon?"

"How do they know?" says the one-eyed woman with suspicion.

"I saw the lights. They looked like shooting stars. Then I heard of man and yōkai changing because of crystal shards and changing in a bad way."

"Do you seek the shards?"

"Never, Obaasan. I don't trust something not of this world." says 'Nobu', pulling out a small bottle, "I believe in what can be made by man from nature with their own hands. Would you like some medicine? I have remedies for head pain and old bones."

Kaede soon loses her suspicion that Nobu is after the jewel shards or a demon in disguise. It takes her longer to get rid of her worries that he's a "snake oil salesman". Kaede eventually buys a small bottle just to get the boy to leave.

As Nobu leaves, he hears a faint buzz and his hidden magical sensors detect large Japanese hornets with unnatural red eyes flying near him. Oda recognizes them as Naraku's Saimyōshō also known as the Poison Insects of Hell. Oda sighs as Naraku can't go a day without trying to cause trouble for people. Oda pulls out a stick of incense, lights it with a gesture, then turns and blows the smoke at the insects.

The Saimyōshō whose name meaning "Absolute Victory" and are some of the most toxic supernatural creatures. They can also withstand a surprising number of toxins, include Naraku's own potent miasma. So, it's surprising that with a little purple smoke the insects fall to the ground dead.

"Annoying pests."

In 1543, a Portuguese ship, the São Pedro, was blown off course by a storm and landed on Tanegashima Island, south of Kyushu. The crew included three Jesuit priests, led by Father Francisco Xavier. The Portuguese brought firearms with them, which were highly sought after and quickly spread throughout Japan. The arrival of Europeans also introduced new ideas, technology, and culture to Japan.

Doctor Nobunara Oda is not interested in the Portuguese with their priests and guns, but due to circumstances he ended up encountering the foreigners in one of his disguises. The sailors were impressed by the young man's knowledge and his ability to speak any language, which Xavier - a Basque Spaniard Catholic missionary and future Saint - called a Blessing of God. Nobu found it difficult to get away as "Nobu" could have become as important as Yajirō - Xavier's companion and first recorded Japanese Christian.

Doctor Nobunara Oda is not interested in Tanegashima clan and their mon (emblem) that looks like Triforce from the Legend of Zelda franchise. They were interested in the mysterious travelling merchant with the ability to speak the languages of the foreigners, but he was able to escape them using his century of business experience and supernatural business skills.

He's now on a more remote beach of Tanegashima, in a small fisherman's hut.

"Shimizu."

Doctor Nobunara Oda is interested in a certain beautiful woman.

Shimizu has sea-green eyes that captivate all those who look at her and long, flowing black hair cascades down her back. The elegant kimono she wears, a masterpiece of silk and embroidery, whispers tales of the sea.

"You called me. Do I know you?"

"We were supposed to fight on Horaijima."

Shimizu of the Waves. Nǚ (Girl) of Black Tortoise (or more accurately the Black Warrior). She was a Yōkai commander that escaped rather than face the defenders of Horai Island – N2.

"Why are you here, defender of Horai?" she says calmly, hiding her fear.

"I had a Quest to find you and ask you, why did you flee?"

"I am a Ningyo, what the Westerns call a Mermaid. Are you familiar with the legends of my people." says Shimizu as she creates a small illusion in the secrecy of the hut. What she creates is an image of her true form. The upper body of a beautiful nude woman and the lower body of a long fish with sea-green-and-gold scales.

"They are considered heralds of misfortune, but many seek them. Those who consume the flesh of mermaid are cursed. Most die from the cursed poison, while others rise as immortal monsters called Lost Ones. A small number don't become monsters or die, and instead are cursed with immortality." says Nobu, drinking his tea, while making sure she doesn't escape using her illusions.

"Yes, my kind is hunted by humanity for a chance of immortality. The flesh of a mermaid is worth more than gold to the nobles of this land. These foreigners offer an opportunity. I could travel to the west and assume another identity in a land that does not know the legend."

"I know how you gain those identities." says Nobu narrowing his eyes, "Mermaids have extremely long lifespans, but they don't possess eternal youth like the few humans that consume their flesh. Instead, they consume the flesh of young women and take their identities. Your kind even sacrifice weaker members to make those women immortal, because immortal identities age slower."

"So, you know about that truth." says Shimizu grimacing at the loss of sympathy, "Fortunately, I possess the Mansion Nǚ. The Celestial power allows me to maintain my immortal youth without needing to feed on humans. The reason I joined the Shitōshin army in the first place was to obtain this power. With this power, I will live for millennia."

"I don't think so."

"..."

"I did a lot of research on you Shimizu." says Nobu, partially lying. He's actually getting most of his information from the Gamer Analyse in real-time. "You liked to hunt the most beautiful humans and hanyō to make yourself more beautiful. You even captured and murdered your own kind so you could create immortal servants or just laugh as most died from consuming the flesh."

Shimizu panics and rushes out of the hut, leaving behind an illusionary clone. She instinctively moves towards the ocean, where she transform into her true form and escape. With the power of the Celestial Mansion augmenting her power she could outswim the fastest fish in the world and any human weapon.

As she's about to reach the water, she hears a shrill whistling sound, followed by a small painful sensation and blood splashing across the beach, the water lapping at the edges before all thoughts end.

The corpse collapsing onto the sand of the beach as Nobu continues to whistle, the weapon he used streaked back through the air faster than the eye could see before retreating back into his robes.

[Universal Gift] cards outside of the New World Events are not as crazy as you think. Since they arrived in this world – Oda's fourth after his original world, the MHA world, and Fairy Tail's Earth Land – the Gifts have been fairly moderate. Oda theorizes it's the local manifestation of Gaea – the Spirit of the Tree of Ages – preventing them from causing too much damage.

[Build Points] on the other hand allow Oda's family to expand on Horai-jima. This goes beyond simply construction which Oda could do himself with his earth manipulating magic and super-science construction technology. It allows them to physically make the mystic island larger and enhance metaphysical aspects of the island such as increasing the dragon veins (ley lines) and increase its connection to the spirit world. The Japanese Horai has become a match to the original island of immortals and beasts.

Oda uses his Inventory to suck up Shimizu's corpse. He fully intends to research the mermaid's physiology and the properties of the curse toxin.

"I wonder if I can make an antidote...?"

Melissa is on the ocean floor walking towards a reef shaped like a massive Eastern palace.

The armor worn by Melissa Oda (nee Shield) is a magnificent fusion of samurai armor and Iron Man's suit. It gleams with a metallic sheen, intricately designed to combine the elegance of traditional Japanese armor with the advanced technology of Iron Man's suit and the Magitech of the N2 Guild. The helmet features a sleek visor reminiscent of Iron Man's iconic design, while the chest plate bears intricate engravings inspired by samurai motifs. The gauntlets are equipped with energy blasters, and the legs are reinforced with sturdy plating for underwater mobility. Overall, the armor exudes a powerful presence, blending the best of two worlds into a formidable and visually striking ensemble.

The castle structure is massive and composed of red and white coral that would have taken over three thousand years to grow by natural means, but the formation is far from natural. Sea turtles, fish, jellyfish, snakes, and other sea creatures inhabit the palace, but it's clear they aren't normal either, but are instead yōkai. Some are even wearing clothing or in human form.

Ryūgū-jō, also known as the Dragon Palace Castle, is the supernatural undersea palace of Ryūjin, the Dragon God in Japanese tradition. It is often associated with the story of Urashima Tarō, where he was entertained by the Dragon God's princess Oto-hime and his minions but returned to find centuries had passed.

"Lady Oda! She has returned!" comes the yells of a dozen servants, their voices sounding a little strange underwater; as if talking fish wasn't already abnormal.

The servants guide her into the depths of the palace past the sea dragon guards and mystical barriers until she stands before the throne of the ocean. There are actually two thrones, one massive for its master's true dragon form and a smaller one for his human form.

Ryūjin, the Dragon God of the Sea, takes on a majestic human form that reflects his divine status and connection to the vast oceans. His appearance is awe-inspiring, exuding power and wisdom befitting a deity of such importance.

In his human form, Ryūjin possesses a tall and imposing stature, symbolizing his authority over the seas. His skin shimmers with a faint iridescence, reminiscent of sunlight dancing on the ocean's surface. Long, flowing hair cascades down his back like undulating waves, varying in shades of deep blues and greens to mirror the colors of the sea.

Ryūjin's face is both serene and formidable, with piercing eyes that seem to hold the secrets of the depths within their depths. His gaze is intense yet compassionate, reflecting his dual nature as a protector and ruler of the sea. Delicate scales adorn his cheeks and temples, hinting at his draconic origins.

Clad in regal attire befitting his status as a deity, Ryūjin wears garments inspired by the treasures and creatures of the sea. His robe is crafted from shimmering silk that mimics the play of light on water, embroidered with intricate patterns of crashing waves and swirling currents. The hues range from deep ocean blues to vibrant turquoise, evoking images of the ever-changing sea.

"Melissa. It's good to see you again, my friend." says Ryūjin, his voice sounding as deep as the ocean.

"It's only been a decade. That's not even a couple days for Gods." tells Melissa. Some of the more protocol obsessed servants are shocked at the woman's casualness, but Ryūjin merely laughs.

"Seriously, what's problem do you need solved?" asks Melissa, getting serious, "The last time we met, Reigetsu managed to steal one of the tide jewels and I barely stopped her from flooding the Eastern coast of Nihon."

Reigetsu, whose name translates to "Moon over Water," was a mermaid daiyōkai renowned for her beauty and talent as an entertainer at Ryūgū-jō. She was affectionately known as the "Ten no Nami Maihime" or the "Heavenly Wave Dancer." Despite her remarkable abilities, Reigetsu's flaw lay in her spoiled nature and isolation due to her exceptional skills. The only solace in her lonely existence came from her beloved little sister, Kasumi, whose ethereal presence earned her the moniker "Mist."

Tragedy struck when humans seeking immortality callously took Kasumi's life. The loss of her cherished sister shattered something within Reigetsu. Consumed by grief and rage, she succumbed to darkness and despair. In a desperate bid to avenge Kasumi's death and alleviate her own pain, Reigetsu stole one of the tide jewels – powerful artifacts that held sway over life and death, controlling the waters of the very ocean – and embarked on a vengeful rampage against humanity.

Driven by sorrow and fury, Reigetsu unleashed her wrath upon unsuspecting humans, seeking to extinguish their lives as they had extinguished the light in hers. However, her quest for retribution was fraught with tragedy at every turn. As she exacted her vengeance with relentless determination, she found herself ensnared in a cycle of violence and suffering that only deepened her anguish.

When she was killed by Melissa, there was a look of relief on Reigetsu's face.

"Names have power, especially Gods who possess authorities over the world. Our names can even enchant objects, such as writing our names on talismans. What we don't mention is we are also aware of those who use our names and those named after us. I am very aware of the fools who take my name, but this one disturbs us."

Ryūjin raises his hand and bubbles of iridescent glowing water gather into a huge sphere in the center of the chamber. The impossibly perfect sphere of glowing water transforms into ice and its surface becomes like the most polished silver mirror. The silver then dissolves and the sphere then begins to show images.

The images in the viewing orb are disturbing.

A two-and-half meter tall very muscular humanoid with five golden eyes with black sclera, dark brown skin with numerous black markings, a mane of wild spiky black hair. He has sharp teeth with prominent tusks, a crown of five horns, and tapered ears like a cow. He also has four arms ending in sharp claws and a long muscular tail. His armor is organic and chitinous like the exoskeleton of a beetle, looking like it was grown from his flesh instead of donned. The polished armor has the same markings as his flesh and he's holding a barbed spear made of bone.

"Ryūjinmaru. He's an artificial creation, a chimeric daiyōkai crafted from the flesh, blood, and born of many other yōkai. Even the stone hard flesh of Ryūkotsusei, great enemy of the Western Lord Tōga-Ō, was used in his creation."

"Created by who?" is the pressing question asked by Melissa. She can guess a fragment of Ryūkotsusei's flesh was recovered after the battle with Inuyasha. Inuyasha's Bakuryūha (Backlash Wave) tore dragon daiyōkai to pieces and scattered them. Inuyasha wouldn't have noticed anyone lurking around because he was too excited by the fact, he could now launch Kaze no Kizu (Wind Scar) at will. His friends wouldn't have noticed because they were more worried about the overexcited Inuyasha.

"Akihiko Kagayaku."

The Akihiko Kagayaku can be interpreted as "Bright Boy Who Shines" or "Intelligent Prince Glittering."

Akihiko is a tall and imposing figure with an intimidating presence. Standing at over 6 feet tall, he has a lean and muscular build, with sharp and angular features. His skin is as pale as the moonlight, a stark contrast to his long, black hair that falls in waves down to his waist. His eyes are a piercing red, glowing with an otherworldly energy that seems to bore into the very soul of those who dare to meet his gaze.

Akihiko's attire consists of a long, flowing robe made of the finest silk, dyed in dark hues of purple and black. The robe is adorned with intricate patterns and symbols, representing the dark arts and forbidden magic that he practices. He wears a wide-brimmed hat on his head, casting long shadows over his face and adding to his mysterious and enigmatic appearance.

"He's a onmyōji and sorcerer born before the reign of the Emperor Ichijō. Akihiko is a man obsessed with power and immortality. Driven by an insatiable hunger for knowledge and an unquenchable thirst for power, he has dedicated his entire life to the pursuit of these elusive goals. He is cold, calculating, and ruthless in his methods, never hesitating to sacrifice anyone or anything that stands in his way."

The images shift to show an underground chamber.

The underground chamber is a grim and macabre setting that serves as a testament to Akihiko's dark pursuits. The atmosphere is heavy with an aura of suffering and despair, accentuated by the bloodstains that mar the walls and floor. The chamber is dimly lit, casting eerie shadows across the figures of the captive individuals within.

As the images shift, the viewer is confronted with a haunting scene of horror and cruelty. The chamber is filled with rows of young men, women, and children, both human and yōkai, who have become victims of Akihiko's twisted experiments. They are bound and restrained, their bodies covered in bandages and inscribed with arcane symbols and markings.

The sight of these helpless beings, stripped of their clothing and dignity, evokes a sense of profound tragedy and injustice. It becomes apparent that Akihiko has been conducting his inhumane research on a massive scale, showing no regard for the sanctity of life or the suffering he inflicts upon his subjects.

"What the Hell!?" yells Melissa, "Why didn't you mention this guy before?"

"We didn't know he was still alive. Akihiko in his pursuit of knowledge has become so unnatural even the gods fail to find him. He has assumed many identities and has faked his death more times than there are spines on a sea urchin." says the King of the Sea, "We only know about this lab because he dared name his latest abomination that mockery!"

Himiko Toga is at the current site of the Atago Gongen and future site of the Atago Shrine.

The Atago Shrine was established in 1603 on the order of shōgun Tokugawa Ieyasu. Prior to the shrine's establishment, the area was occupied by a Buddhist temple known as Atago Gongen. The transition from a Buddhist temple to a Shinto shrine reflects historical shifts in religious practices and patronage during that period in Japan.

Over time, the site transformed into a significant Shinto shrine dedicated to Atago Gongen, a deity associated with fire prevention and protection against disasters. In the modern era, the shrine's location on Mount Atago offers panoramic views of Tokyo and serves as a popular spot for visitors seeking blessings for safety and good fortune.

Toga had even visited the shrine in her birth world, which still exists even in the world of Quirks. The people of Japan still worship the gods in the modern era, but Quirks often determined which Gods got the most attention.

The fire god Homusubi no Mikoto worshipped at the shrine had many Fire Quirk users as followers. Other gods worshipped at the shrine were Mizuhanome no Mikoto (a god of water), Ōyamazumi no Mikoto (a god of mountains), and Yamato Takeru no Mikoto (a god of the military). Those deities had water manipulators, earth manipulators, and combat Quirk possessors as their worshippers; a natural progression of religious investiture.

Toga was never very religious because for most of her life, at least the beginning, she considered herself cursed. She possessed a blood-based quirk that made blood beautiful to her and what she wanted to do was share this love with everyone, but found herself rejected over and over again.

Toga looks down at the sick noblewoman being secretly cared for by the Buddhist temple. The woman is barely out of her teens but she is close to death due to a supernatural illness. Her skin is covered in black markings that indicate a curse and she's bleeding from ever orifice as if she was suffering from severe hemorrhagic fever.

Himiko absorbs some of the blood and for a brief second, the curse markings appear on her skin, but they quickly fade away as Kagutsuchi's power burns the curse away. Himiko then transforms into the Princess using her original Quirk.

In another world, Himiko would learn she can give blood to others. When she transforms into a person, her blood matches theirs. Himiko died giving the last of her blood to save Ochako Uraraka in "the prime timeline".

In this world, she can give as much blood is needed due to her mystical abilities and a minor blood replenishing Quirk that she got from her beloved Nobunara. The Blood of Kagutsuchi works immediately to burn away the curse from the Princess' body and soul, erupting from the Princess's body as a phantasm before being torn apart. Thankfully, the black blood is not transmitted as it represents a bond between Himiko and the magical soul that saved her.

The Buddhist Monks watch in wonder as Himiko saves the Princess, even cleansing the poor girl's body and clothing of blood and filth.

As Himiko reverts to normal disguised state, she gets a message on her Gamer.

[I-Queen]

I-Queen is Melissa's Gamer handle. The Queen of I-Island, Iron-Queen after her Iron Man Inspired Armors, and IQ for Intelligence Quotient. Oda's handle is DK6 – Demon King of the Sixth Heaven after Nobunaga Oda and the fact he was the Demon of I-Island. Her own handle is BloodlustBabe.

Less than a day later, N2 arrived at Akihiko Kagayaku's secret lab to confront him and his creation Ryūjinmaru, but found a major complication.

Ryūjinmaru has Sō'unga!

Sō'unga ("Amassing Cloud Fang") was a yōkai sword. It was the opposite of Sesshōmaru's inherited sword, the Tenseiga, "The Sword of Life or Heaven", as Sō'unga was considered "The Sword of Death or Hell". Sō'unga, also known as "The Sword of Calamity", could summon 100 dead souls in one swing creating an army of undead. Sō'unga, unlike the Tessaiga or the Tenseiga, was not created by Tōtōsai from Tōga's fang, but from a daiyōkai of the netherworld that Tōga almost died fighting against.

In many timelines, the spirit Saya would keep the sword sealed at the Bone-Eater's Well for centuries, where it would be found by the owners of the Higurashi Shrine. Inuyasha would become possessed by the sword and return to the Sengoku Jidai. After freeing himself from the accursed sentient sword, it would eventually find the corpse of Takemaru of Setsuna, using his hatred and obsession with Inuyasha's mother Izayoi to fuel its powers. It would finally be destroyed when the Sesshōmaru and Inuyasha worked together.

In this timeline, Ryūjinmaru is a weapon of recombinant demon sorcery was created with a limitless hatred of all living things and a fair amount of greedy human potential. Unlike a hanyō and obsessive human undead, the demonic sword and its monstrous wielder came together like salt and water.

The fusion of Ryūjinmaru and Sō'unga results in a truly formidable and awe-inspiring being. Standing at over three meters tall, the fusion combines the imposing stature of Ryūjinmaru with the mystical essence of Sō'unga. The creature now possesses seven golden eyes with black sclera, radiating an otherworldly aura. Its dark brown skin is adorned with intricate black markings that seem to pulsate with power, symbolizing the merging of two powerful entities.

The mane of wild spiky black hair flows majestically down its back, blending seamlessly with the crown of seven horns that adorn its head. The tapered ears reminiscent of a cow now twitch with heightened sensitivity, attuned to even the faintest sounds around it. Sharp teeth, each more menacing than the last, protrude from its jaws, flanked by prominent tusks that speak of its ferocious nature.

The most striking feature of this fusion is its four arms, each ending in razor-sharp claws that glint ominously in the light. These additional appendages grant it unparalleled dexterity and combat prowess, allowing it to wield multiple weapons simultaneously or unleash devastating strikes upon its foes. The enlarged sword form of Sō'unga is fused with one of its arms, a melding of flesh and metal.

The organic and chitinous armor that covers its body resembles a fusion of Ryūjinmaru's exoskeleton-like armor and the ethereal quality of Sō'unga. The polished surface gleams with an otherworldly sheen, reflecting the amalgamation of two powerful beings into one unified form. The same markings that adorn its flesh now extend seamlessly onto the armor, creating a harmonious blend between flesh and protection.

"Well... Shit."

"Gokuryūha!"

Prison Dragon Blast

獄龍破

Sō'unga's most powerful attack; it possesses more destructive power than the Tessaiga's Bakuryūha. Sō'unga unleashes a large, violent, and powerful purple/black tornado that annihilates everything that was caught in its path. The vortex of the attack does not reach into the sky like a tornado, instead staying compressed near the ground for maximum damage. It's so destructive that it can erase towns and mountains with ease.

Nemo and Izumi jump clear of the attack, while Irene makes a barrier to protect herself and Himiko. Melissa even without her armor redefines the word "durable" and Oda would never be caught by surprise, if he's even physical present; you can never tell.

Suddenly, a barrage of glowing rocket propelled arrows is fired from launchers hidden in the forest. The arrows propelled by rockets more-advanced than any Chinese creation move in all directions before curving towards their target to attack from all angles. The ten thousand arrows all hit their target at the same time, each one releasing a blast of holy energy. Sō'ungamaru cries out in pain within the light of the explosion.

"You made a rocket cart!" I say with a grin to Oda.

"Holy bullets are having persistent issues with energy retention, so I decided to do a little rocket science," Oda replied casually.

The one problem with holy projectiles is you can only put so much energy depending on the mass. A sacred arrow contains more energy that a bullet, because it's not just the arrowhead that's charged.

Sō'ungamaru emerges from smoke, looking enraged, but not damaged in the slightest. Sō'unga is a demon sword of the Netherworld and it's possible nothing of this world can harm it, which would explain how Sesshōmaru's Tenseiga was able to harm it.

"Gokuryūha!"

"Kokuryūha!"

My own Black Dragon Blast collides with his Prison Dragon Blast, creating a massive explosion of black and purple energies that shoots into the sky. The combination of dark and destructive energies released by the fusion of attacks drains the life from the surrounding forest and causes everything organic to decay to dust.

"You can't defeat me. Nothing of this world can, not even my former masters." says Sō'ungamaru. The fusion between the two is so perfect, they are referring to themselves as a single entity much like Cletus Cassidy and the Carnage Klyntar symbiote in Marvel comics.

"Musokagekiri" (Myriad Shadow Cut!)

Pitch darkness washes over Sō'ungamaru for a brief second, then I reappear next to him. Sō'ungamaru is confused and can't feel pain as part of his design, so it takes him a minute to realize his metallic armor is covered in small cuts and scratches.

"How!?"

"Ten thousand cuts and I barely cut your armor. You're a tough bastard."

"How did you cut me?"

My sword Kuroyami is a Zanpakutō - a soul-cutting sword used by Soul Reapers to collect and cleanse the souls of the dead. It falls under otherworldly weapon and can damage Sō'unga's netherworld metal.

"F U, that's how."

I don't feel like telling this guy anything.

One might wonder what my friends are up to while I'm fighting a hellish sword demon. They aren't just sitting around watching like a cheer squad like some anime companions.

Sō'ungamaru used Sō'unga's necromantic ability to call a hundred souls before we arrived. In the film, he animated the corpses of human samurai with its red sludge, which would be a little more than cannon fodder for Inuyasha's companions, let alone my family. Instead, he's animated the failed experiments of Akihiko Kagayaku as his undead army.

*Nemo*

The undead army created by Akihiko Kagayaku and Sō'ungamaru is a chilling sight to behold. Each member of this grotesque legion bears the marks of their unnatural creation, reflecting a fusion of yokai and human traits gone horribly wrong. Their appearances are a macabre blend of monstrous features and remnants of their former humanity, twisted into nightmarish forms by Kagayaku's dark magic.

The failed experiments exhibit a range of physical deformities that showcase the extent of Kagayaku's twisted ambitions. Some may have elongated limbs with sharp claws reminiscent of yokai, while others might possess multiple eyes or mouths scattered across their bodies. Their skin could be pallid and mottled, hinting at the corruption that now courses through their veins.

Despite their varied appearances, there is a haunting uniformity to the undead army as they move with eerie coordination under Sō'ungamaru's command. Their eyes glow with an otherworldly light, devoid of any trace of humanity, instilling fear in all who cross their path.

Izumi bounces between opponents, dodging their attacks both physical and Youjutsu-based using her Spider-Sense. She binds their movements with the silk threads she leaves behind her. She then slices the zombies apart with her threads causing them to spill vile ooze on the ground. Izumi is cautious and makes sure none of the body parts are still moving. That caution proves to be more than paranoid when the upper body of an ogre jumps at her back from the behind. She dodges without looking and decapitates the animated corpse.

In Earth Land, magic that animates the bodies of the dead has existed for many centuries. Magic that deals with undead has also existed for the same amount of time. Irene has a personal philosophy when it comes to the undead – Fire, and plenty of it.

"Grand Enchant: Cremation of the Damned."

Irene generates a large glowing red magic circle around her. Seconds later, a pillar of fire streaks into the sky turning the sky an interesting shade of red. When the spell's effects clear, the ground has become blackened ash and glass. The undead around her have become statues of ash that crumble apart.

The spell incinerates all things that are considered dead from the largest undead to small twig buried deep in the earth. It saves on disposal of the bodies and also eliminates the god forsaken smell.

Oda is acting like a Pokémon trainer, having summoned his teddy bear automatons to his side. Many villains would have mocked the man's use of small adorable teddy bears that look like they should be in the arms of sleeping boys and girls than on the battlefield. That is until the little teddy bears punch the heads off the Resident Evil rejects with shockwave-inducing blows.

"Ursa-Rin, use Hyper Beam!"

One of the teddy bears with a small bow unleashes a beam of energy from its mouth. The beam is powerful enough to instantly cut through a dozen undead in the blink of an eye and the beam is so hot that the undead burst apart.

Melissa is amused at her husband's antics, but she is still focused on her own opponents. Instead of pulling out a super weapon or power armor, she goes for a simple solution. She knocks over a large thick tree and then kicks the trunk. The tree rolls like a steamroller over her undead opponents turning them into greasy undead pancakes.

Himiko was having the most problems with her opponents. Sō'unga's animation (and transformation) of the corpses leaves their bodies filled with a very disgusting ooze instead of blood, so she can't manipulate them. Her attack style also relies on piercing and slicing opponents to cause bleed damage, which is not useful against walking corpses. Thankfully, her own black blood makes her absurdly durable and the Blood of Kagutsuchi essentially turns her blood into "Holy Napalm".

"Gokuryūha!"

"Kokuryūha!"

The group also has to avoid being killed by ultimate attacks of both the villain and their leader. Every time the two attacks collide, the black and purple explosion is like the kiss of death upon the world of man.

*Nemo*

Both me and Sō'ungamaru are bleeding badly. Thankfully, I'm regenerating so quickly I'll be back to my usual flawless self in a couple minutes. Unfortunately, my opponent can't feel pain and doesn't seem to need any of the blood that he's losing due to his undead nature.

"Are those your best techniques?" mocks Sō'ungamaru, "You could kill ten thousand mortals, but I am not a mortal."

Sō'ungamaru then begins to move the Sō'unga sword blade above his head in a circle. At first it resembles the Gokuryūha, but the sphere of dark energy is getting larger and larger. It's some form of super version like the Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan from Naruto.

"If my own techniques fail, then I'll use someone else." I say, as I let my draconic aura swirl around the blade of Kurayami. My aura is swirling faster and faster and I see the winds grinding together.

"Kinki Gokuryūha!" (Forbidden Dragon Twister)

Ever since I came to this world, I've been training my swordsmanship to incorporate the techniques of the legendary swords of Tōga and his sons. I've learned to manipulate my own draconic aura to mimic their attacks.

I jump towards the swirling sphere of death without fear as I can see the currents of the malevolent aura. I slice through where the winds meet

"Bakuryūha!"

爆流破

Explosive Stream Blast

"Backlash Wave!"

The technique builds up from the Kaze no Kizu (Wind Scar), the base technique of Tessaiga, and can only be used by someone who has already mastered that move. When an opponent with strong aura unleashes an attack, Tessaiga can use the Kaze no Kizu to engulf the enemy's attack in a twister and reverse its flow back on them, with the added power of the Kaze no Kizu.

Sō'ungamaru cries out in alarm as his own technique is consumed and transformed into black tornadoes that attack him. Sō'ungamaru cannot feel pain, but he does feel the black wind grinding and tearing at his body. He stops feeling anything as his body finally begins to break apart. There is an explosion and cry as Sō'ungamaru dies.

When the light clears, the sword of calamity Sō'unga is falling from the sky, not a single trace of Ryūjinmaru remaining.

"How are we going to get rid of that damn thing!?" says Melissa, referring to Sō'unga who will parasitically possess anyone that attempts to touch it.

I then get a weird idea. When I used my Zanpakutō on Hollows I can open a Gate to Hell. That darkness is always connected me through the primordial darkness.

In various mythologies and belief systems around the world, primordial darkness is often associated with the concept of chaos, creation, and the origin of the universe. It represents a state of formless void or emptiness before the emergence of light or order. Primordial darkness is seen as a powerful force that existed before the creation of the world and is sometimes personified as a deity or a primordial being.

The connection between primordial darkness and the underworld or netherworld can be found in many mythological traditions. In these myths, the underworld is often depicted as a realm of darkness, shadows, and mystery. It is a place where the souls of the dead reside and where supernatural beings rule over the afterlife.

I slash with black sword and something shoots outward and strikes Sō'unga before it can hit the ground. There is a thunderous sound and a cut open in the air, looking like a dark void with the lights of a dark nebula,

"Meido Zangetsuha?" Oda inquires.

The Meidō Zangetsuha ("Dark Path of the Dawn Moon's Wave") is an immensely powerful offensive technique that creates a path directly to the Netherworld, pulling in targets like a black hole. Anyone hit by it is instantly sent to the Netherworld, effectively killed without physical harm. It was (or will be) an attack used Sesshōmaru's reforged Tenseiga and then used by Inuyasha in the final battles against Naraku.

We watch as the Sō'unga is pulled into the Netherworld, forever banished from the world of the living forever.

"Yes," I reply.

"Have I ever told you you're really fucking scary?"

"Not recently, my friend."

"Well, you are."

What else can a guy say when his friend casually opens the Gates of Hell with a sword swing?

"Nemo"

Akihiko Kagayaku escaped while his creation fought N2, but he didn't leave without a prize. In his hand is a vial of blood, preserved by his magic, the blood of the black dragon of Horaijima – Lord Nanashi.

*Nemo*

Literally a month later.

There were four Inuyasha films made back in my original world. After defeating the Shitōshin and Sō'unga, antagonists of the fourth and third films respectively, the members of N2 figured the antagonists of the first two films would also become problems. And if there's one thing that N2 is good at, it's solving problems.

Kaguya ("Goddess of Eternal Night") was a Daiyōkai who absorbed a celestial being, known from the popular Japanese classic The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter as Princess Kaguya. Kaguya took on both the maiden's name and her physical appearance and even began referring to herself as a celestial being, even though she was technically still a demon.

Her Celestial Robe (a key item of her power) was stolen by a passerby while she was bathing in a spring. Enraged, Kaguya began to avenge herself by killing nearby villagers. This attracted the attention of the monk Miyatsu, paternal grandfather of Miroku. Miyatsu sealed Kaguya within her own mirror and placed it in a shrine in the Forest of Illusion.

"In the original timeline, Kaguya was released by Kanna and Kagura after Naraku faked his death. She then reacquired the robe and kidnapped Kagome, leading to a final battle at her castle for the fate of the world." I explain looking at the Mirror of Life in my hand.

"You know where my robe is?" says Kaguya, her face reflected in the mirror's surface. "Can we make a deal, Lord of Horai?"

"You didn't win, Kaguya."

"What?"

"Your tale ended when Kagome's arrow shattered your mirror and tore the robe away from you. Without those items, Inuyasha's attack destroyed your body. You tried to possess Kagome's body, but the very grandson of the monk that sealed you sucked you into the wind tunnel in his hand."

"Impossible. I am an Immortal Celestial Being. I can never die." says Kaguya looking shocked in the sealed mirror. Then her eyes narrow, "If you already know my tale, both past and future, why have you come to me now? Why do you change the tale if you see my defeat?"

"This world is an alternate tale with many villains and events changing. The victory of the heroes is not guaranteed." I explain as I carry the mirror away from its shrine. "So, the world has decided we of N2 will ensure the fall of villains."

I walk over towards a large magic circle on the ground drawn by Irene. I place the mirror on the ground in the very center of the circle.

N2 considered many methods. Irene's was Inventory Implosion, a spell created by Irene back in her home world of Earth Land.

A dark mage calling herself as the Black Knight was causing problems for Fairy Tail, especially her daughter Erza. Black Knight used the kind of Reequip Spatial magic as Erza with an inventory full of magical weapons and armor, include several legendary cursed weapons. Black Knight was also murderous psychopath who preyed on the weak. Irene's specially crafted spell imploded the entire pocket dimension and crushed every item into hyper-dense metal scrap. It's possible that same spell could crush Kaguya into a hyper-dense marble.

Melissa's suggestion was sealing the mirror itself in a block of dense heat-resistant metal and dumping it into the nearest active volcano. Basically, what the Hojo family is supposed to do with the Celestial Robe. The problem is volcanoes tend to spew out magma and one big eruption would send Kaguya back to the surface.

Himiko's suggestion was release Kaguya, so they could kill her themselves. It's possible as Kaguya currently doesn't have the Celestial Robe and her Mirror of Life could be destroyed easily by Oda's Magitech. My Kokuryūha could destroy her physical form as easily as Inuyasha's Kongōsōha (Adamant Barrage), while Irene or Himiko could handle the spirit. It sounded good, but we want to make sure there are no surprises.

I channel power into my sword and then let it flow into the magic circle.

A Meidō Zangetsuha appears in the air above the mirror. It's unstable and imperfect, but...

"A dark twisted moon for a dark twisted Kaguya."

Kaguya can't even cry out as the mirror is pulled into the netherworld. Not a living creature in creation can save her immortal ass. The Sealed Evil in a Can tossed into the Netherworld like trash.

"Did you get the readings you wanted?" I ask Oda

"Most of them. I don't think I'll be replicating netherworld portals, but I have plenty to work with." says Oda, as the magic seal disintegrates leaving the ground clean.

In 1274, the Mongols, led by Kublai Khan, sought to expand their empire to include Japan. Kublai Khan initiated diplomatic efforts towards Japan, sending letters and ambassadors to establish friendly relations and demand tribute from the Japanese court. However, these overtures were met with silence and disregard by the Japanese leadership.

In early November 1274 CE, Kublai Khan dispatched a massive fleet of around 800-900 ships carrying an army of 16,600-40,000 men from Korea to invade Japan. The first territories targeted were Tsushima and Iki Island. Japan was only saved by a storm that the Japanese believed was a divine intervention – Kamikaze (Divine Wind).

It wasn't just an invasion of humans, but also an invasion of Chinese yōkai (yāoguài) led by daiyōkai Lord Hyōga of the Hyōga (Flying Moth) Clan. The Hyōga clan rose to dominance in Asian with the conquests of Genghis Khan. As the greatest conqueror the world has ever known stretched his empire from the Pacific Ocean to central Europe, including all of China, the Middle East and Russia, the bloody path changed the world. The disruption of the natural order led to creation of many yōkai and armies of yōkai led by the most powerful. The first Lord Hyōga bowed to Genghis Khan and was made the leader of Khan's supernatural forces.

The Lord Hyuga of Kublai Khan's time fought against the Beast Lord of the Western Lands – Lord Tōga and was killed. Normally, the successor of the Hyuga Clan absorbs the power of the previous leader and becomes the new Lord Hyuga, but his heir Menōmaru ("Agate" Chinese name: Mǎnǎo) was also defeated and sealed by a fang from Tōga.

Without Lord Hyuga, Khan's demon army fragmented and there was infighting. This allowed the mystical forces of China from the Gods to the spiritualists to tribes of mystic in the Kunlun Mountains who resisted Mongol rule to fight back. Eventually this would lead to the total extinction of the flying moth demon tribe on the continent.

Due to a shard of the Shikon jewel, the sealing spell of Tōga was undone.

In the canon timeline, Menōmaru would have summoned two minions Ruri and Hari and sought the fangs of Tōga to break the sealing spell placed on his father's power by Tōga. The fangs turned into the swords wielded by the two sons. He would have succeeded in obtaining his father's power and becoming the new Lord Hyuga, only to be killed by Inuyasha and Kagome.

In this world, Menōmaru somehow managed to break the seal without the swords. I suspect the Tree of Ages itself did the deed itself, while severing the moth daiyōkai's connection to itself. It's a lot easier to fight a would-be conqueror without time travel mucking things up and spirits would sacrifice a country or two for the sake of the world.

Menomaru's minions are both dead and N2 doesn't care. In Canon, one of them copied Miroku's Kazaana (Wind Tunnel) and then made the hole larger, arrogantly believing she could handle it better than a human; instead, she sucked herself into her own miniature black hole like an idiot. The other was torn in half by Sango's giant demon boomerang Hiraikotsu after the enslaved fiery feline companion of Sango, Killala, broke free of the moth demon's control; she was drained of life by Menomaru before she died.

As we arrive, Menomaru has emerged from his giant cocoon. Menōmaru's transformed state is a gargantuan version of his former self. His green hair remains the same, but his skin is more flesh-toned than before. Also, his eyes become completely different. They are much larger, proportionately, and he loses the whites of his eyes and irises, instead his eyes are entirely blue, with thin, slit-like pupils. His antennae are also much larger in proportion to the rest of his body. He also has a taijitu mark on his forehead, at which his demonic aura is centered.

Lord Hyuga is ranting like a typical megalomaniac Big Bad, but I'm not really paying attention. I'm more interested in Oda's newest invention.

The giant humanoid robot piloted by Doctor Nobunara Oda in this odd world is a formidable creation, resembling an Evangelion unit or perhaps Mechamaru's knockoff from Jujutsu Kaisen. It stands at an impressive height, towering over the battlefield with sleek, futuristic design elements combined with N2 Magitech aesthetics. The robot's armor is a blend of traditional samurai armor and advanced mecha plating, adorned with intricate engravings that glow with mystical energy.

Its limbs are powerful and agile, capable of swift movements and devastating strikes. The hands of the robot end in sharp, articulated fingers that can extend into deadly blades or unleash powerful energy blasts. Its head is crowned with a crest reminiscent of a feudal warlord's helmet, housing advanced sensors and targeting systems for precise combat maneuvers.

The color scheme of the giant robot is a mix of deep crimson and metallic silver, giving it a regal yet menacing appearance on the battlefield. As it moves, ethereal wisps of energy trail behind it, hinting at the potent Magitech engines that power its movements.

N2 are looking bug-eyed at Oda's creation. They have seen giant robots, like when he summoned a giant Magitech bear in a fight, but nothing like this. You never realize how obscenely big an Eva is until your standing next to one of the 80-meter (~262.5 foot) tall machines.

As Doctor Nobunara Oda commands his giant robot to face off against the gargantuan form of Menōmaru, the battlefield trembles with their titanic clash. Menōmaru, with his immense size and dark aura swirling around him, looms over the landscape like a malevolent force of nature.

The battle begins as Menōmaru unleashes waves of dark energy towards the giant robot, but Doctor Oda deftly maneuvers his creation to evade the attacks. With lightning-fast reflexes, the robot retaliates with a barrage of energy beams from its outstretched hands, each blast striking Menōmaru with explosive force.

Menōmaru roars in fury as he charges towards the giant robot, intent on crushing it beneath his colossal fists. However, Doctor Oda activates the robot's thrusters, propelling it into the air with incredible speed to avoid Menōmaru's onslaught. From above, the robot rains down a storm of energy projectiles upon its foe, each impact causing shockwaves that shake the very ground beneath them.

The epic battle rages on as both combatants unleash their most devastating attacks, filling the sky with explosions and flashes of mystical energy. Doctor Oda's strategic genius and piloting skills are put to the test as he navigates his giant robot through Menōmaru's relentless assault, seeking out weaknesses in his opponent's defenses to exploit.

I have a feeling, Oda could end this battle at any time, but he's just enjoying his Mecha vs Kaiju fight. Oda's next move is shocking as Oda slashes at Menōmaru with a clawed hand, each finger tipped with black hole–like wind tunnels. As Oda makes the slash, the wind tunnel vortexes lengthen into black blades of wind and vacuum.

Tensaku Shinkū Shōda!

天 穿 空 (衝 打

"Heaven-Piercing Vacuum Strike!"

Menōmaru, the New Lord Hyuga and most powerful since his clan's founding, widens in shock as his body is severely damaged. His moth demon instincts allowed him to dodge most of the attack, helped by his motion-sensing antenna, but the attack still destroyed one of his precious wings and his entire right arm. Blue-green fluids spray from the wound, pulled from the moth demon's veins by the vacuum.

"This is impossible, I am the Great Lord Hyuga!"

I notice that Oda's Eva arm looks damaged. I'm guessing he hasn't completely perfected the artificial wind tunnels, so much like Naruto with his Rasen shuriken he's causing damage to himself.

"I guess when dealing with moths, it's best to use old methods."

Panels unlock on his arms and then they transform as Oda slams them together with interlaced fingers, forming a singular weapon that looks like the Incineration Cannon; the signature weapon of Demon Cyborg Genos from One Punch Man.

Shoukyaku Bakuha!

焼却爆破

"Incineration Blast!"

Oda's Eva releases a monstrous blast of golden plasma that washes over the moth daiyōkai and the moth burns in the flames.

As the golden plasma blast engulfs the moth demon, creating a bright and intense burst of light as the high-temperature energy collides with its body, the impact causes the demon to stagger by the force of the blast. As the plasma blast makes contact with the demon's body, viewers observe the outer layer of its skin reacting to the extreme heat, blackening almost instantly. The remaining wing, both powerful and fragile, bursts into flames and reduced to cloud of burning fragments in seconds.

Lord Hyuga lets out a roar of pain before his body's draining demonic aura finally fails and the heat consumes the moth demon's body.

When the attack ends, ash and embers are swirling in the blistering hot winds. If it wasn't for Irene's anti-fire magic the entire forest including the Tree of Ages would be on fire. As for Menōmaru, what remains of his incinerated legs collapses to the ground and begins to disintegrate as nature rejects its unnatural existence.

"Overkill!"

*Nemo*

1544

Naraku is FINALLY Dead.

History played out like it did in Canon. Naraku obtained the last shards of the shikon no tama, blackening them with his malicious heart and transformed into massive demon spider that somehow floated in the sky. He attempted to play his usual tricks, but in the end Naraku's body was destroyed. The corrupt jewel itself captured Kagome and tried to force her to make a wish, which would have resulted in Naraku and Kagome, replacing the Magatsuhi and Midoriko at the heart of the Shikon. Kagome didn't fall into the trap and believed in Inuyasha, so instead she made the correct wish. To wish for the jewel to vanish forever.

N2 was on Horai when we sensed the jewel and Naraku cease to exist – a true absolute death.

The people – both human and yokai – are gathering in large open spaces, adorned with colorful lanterns and decorations. The tables laden with an abundance of food and drink, including traditional dishes like sushi, tempura, sake, and various delicacies from different regions. Musicians play lively tunes on drums, flutes, and string instruments, setting the mood for a night of revelry.

To entertain the guests, there are performances showcasing traditional arts such as Noh theater, Kabuki plays, and folk dances. Skilled performers dressed in elaborate costumes captivate the audience with their talents, bringing to life stories of heroism and triumph over evil – mirroring the recent victory against Naraku.

As darkness falls, bonfires are lit around the party area, casting a warm glow over the festivities. Fireworks illuminate the night sky with bursts of color and light, symbolizing hope and new beginnings after the long struggle against darkness. The crackling flames and dazzling displays add to the magical atmosphere of celebration.

The people of Horai are well-educated, including the history of the Shikon no Tama and current events. They will remember the heroic couple of Inuyasha and Kagome, and the defeat of both Naraku and the Jewel. While the world will forget this story as a mere legend, Horai will continue celebrate it as a Holiday and remember.

I will also remember waking up the next morning next to Izumi and Irene with a splitting headache. Doctor Nobunara Oda finally succeeded in creating a liquor strong enough to bypass my draconic poison immunity, and I am both impressed and upset by the achievement.

1567

15 years ago, in 1552, Towa, Setsuna, & Moroha were born.

Kagome returned from the future after graduating high school and married Inuyasha. Moroha is their daughter and inherited many of their traits. Although she inherited a cheerful and friendly personality from her mother, Moroha also has a dangerous temper that she inherited from her father. A quarter-yōkai (shihanyō) bounty hunter who slays yōkai and sells their parts to other yōkai slayers, she was actually raised by the Wolf Demon tribe.

Towa and Setsuna are the twin daughters of Lord Sesshōmaru and the human Rin. It surprised many that the human-hating son of the Western Beast Lord would save, help raise, and marry a human. He insulted his father many times before his death about marrying Izayoi and many times after his death and the birth of Inuyasha. Setsuna & Moroha were raised in different eras, unaware of each other's survival.

This entire mess was because of a prophecy about Kirinmaru's downfall at the hands of a being that is neither human nor yōkai and an impossible entity that surpasses time itself. Kirinmaru - qilin daiyōkai Lord of the Eastern Lands - attempted to stop the prophecy which caused it to trigger.

What's even more insane is a mess with a giant daikaiju-size extraterrestrial moth yōkai hidden inside a comet. If the young heroes had failed to stop the moth, N2 was ready to blast the Battra reject into oblivion. It doesn't matter if it had near limitless power, Oda can make singularity weapons.

Currently, me and the N2 family are visiting the group.

"Congratulations on your victories." I call out, causing the group to turn.

Inuyasha, Kagome, Sesshōmaru, and Rin turn to see me and their eyes widen.

"Lord Nanashi of Horai!" states Kagome.

"What are you doing here?" says Inuyasha with suspicion.

"Just giving you some congratulations and some late birthday presents." I say with a smile, pulling out some [Universal Gift] Cards. Kagome and Inuyasha stare at the card with a sense of dread as I once told them about my family's own wishing device.

"Why didn't you help?" asks Inuyasha.

"Help?"

"With anything? Why didn't you help my daughter or nieces? You run an island full of hanyō and shihanyō."

Towa, Setsuna, and Maroha narrow their eyes at me.

"I told you my family gets quests from Gaea, the manifestation of the world's soul? One of those manifestations is the Tree of Ages. Since we are anomalies in time, it tries to keep us out of the history books."

"Anomalies in time?" asks Towa, "Your time travelers!?"

"Smart student. We are dimensional travelers, but from your perspective we are from your future. I was born centuries after twenty-first century, but I spent a century in another world of magic. Currently, I have been in this world since 1393. 174 years.

Towa does a little math in her head and realizes how advanced Horai is. As technologically superior the modern era is to the Sengoku Jidai, Horai is that to the modern era.

[Generations Gift Festival]

Inuyasha's Quest ended in Naraku's destruction and the Jewel vanishing.

Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha's Quest ended in Kirinmaru's destruction and the Ghost Butterfly vanishing.

To the Heroes and Friends go the Rewards.

1d6 [Universal Gift] Cards

Inuyasha: 5 Gifts

Inuyasha looks down at his cards which have images of a massive canine yōkai wrapped around a beautiful princess. It's not hard to realize they depict his father the great dog general Tōga and his mother Princess Izayoi. He flips on of the cards and it shows wife Kagome and his daughter Moroha. He also notices akita dog imagery and Kagome crests (Trihexagonal tiling) decorating the edges. It takes a couple of seconds, but Inuyasha figures out how to open his first Gift card.

He opens his first Gift to reveal a cloud of white smoke. When the smoke is cleared there is a box of plastic toys on the ground.

[Akita Dog Toys]

Item

A collection of dog toys made for the Akita dog breed. A collection of durable, fun toys to entertain and exercise any dog, made by true lovers of canines.

"What the Hell!? Is this some kind of joke?!" yells Inuyasha while some of his friends suppresses their laughter.

"It's hard to tell at times. The Gifts tend to have a weak start, but the Gifts become more powerful by the end." I say, leaning against a tree.

Kagome squeezes one of the toys and Inuyasha is distracted, before he blushes with embarrassment. Inuyasha then opens his second gift, which generates an even larger cloud of luminescent white smoke.

The second Gift turns out to be a pile of books, which Kagome and Moroha recognize as manga. There are 146 volumes (tankōbon) of manga and what's more alarming is the images on over 60% of them is very familiar. Inuyasha and Kagome are alarmed when they see their own faces on some of the manga.

"What is this?"

[Works of Rumiko Takahashi]

Item

Rumiko Takahashi (born October 10, 1957) is a Japanese manga artist. With a career of several commercially successful works, beginning with Urusei Yatsura in 1978, she is one of Japan's best-known and wealthiest manga artists

Urusei Yatsura (34 volumes)

Maison Ikkoku (15 volumes)

Mermaid Saga (3 volumes)

Ranma ½ (38 volumes)

Inuyasha (56 volumes)

"Multiverse theory. For every choice, there is a world that expresses that choice. In an infinite multiverse, what is fiction in one world is historical in another and vis versa. In one universe, a lawman named Sir Arthur Conan Doyle writes detective stories and, in another world, Sherlock Holmes was the great detective. In this universe, you had many adventures fighting against Naraku, in another world a woman named Rumiko Takahashi wrote a very popular manga with a very popular anime." I explain, getting a feeling a Deja Vu.

"Anime?" asks Setsuna.

"Moving pictures with voices like an illusion showing a story." explains her twin.

"Oh. That sounds fun."

"167 half hour episodes and then an additional 26 to finish it off. There were also four animated films. There were also a 48-episode sequel series called Yashahime."

"So, these books can be considered an illustrated biography of Inuyasha's adventures." says Sesshōmaru, "I'm guessing I am an antagonist for these stories?"

"Only until after you meet Rin. She does wonders for you."

"I already know that." says the Lord of the Western Lands as his wife hugs him.

"You and Rin getting together was surprising. Sure, there were shippers – those who theorized about relationships, but the age difference threw people. Inuyasha and Kagome on the other hand, we could see coming since the day she touched his ears."

Inuyasha and Kagome blush, while Moroha giggles despite herself. So are many of the others watching.

"Seriously, we were waiting and waiting for two to get a clue. Rumiko has this "will they, wont they" plot. Hell, many shippers hated Kikyō because she acted like a roadblock in the relationship. We are grateful she saved Kohaku, but ..."

I'm interrupted by the blushing Inuyasha.

"Let's move on to the next Gift."

The third Gift arrives in a very small poof of smoke. It's a small silver ring with green jade inlines.

[Interspatial Storage Ring]

Item

Interspatial Ring (kōngjiān jièzhi) – a magic ring with a pocket dimension inside it. With a mere thought, the owner can store items inside it and retrieve them at will. There is a storage limitation of 10m x 10m x 10m and a mass limit of 1000000 kg.

"How big is that?"

"10 meters are 5.49 ken." says Oda doing the calculations, "The mass limit is roughly 266,666.67 kan. It could hold around 5,555.5 Koku of rice."

"That's a big space for such a little ring." says Inuyasha holding up the ring.

"These rings are common in Immortal Hero worlds. Usually, they are filled with treasures and ingredients used for immortal cultivation. A protagonist has one to help carry items, but be unburdened so he can fight with ease. He may also take it off the bodies of an antagonist for easy looting." I explain, "My family could make them, but we have another form of storage called The Gamer Inventory."

"They would be very useful." says Moroha, thinking about having a ring to carry all of her kills and carrying a mountain of money.

The fourth gift is a pair of rings. These rings are made of an iridescent silver-like metal with faint markings in a language unknown to Inuyasha (or any native to this world). The rings match each other except one has a faint male symbol and the other has a faint female symbol.

[Pure Blood Rings]

Item

A set of Artifact-class Rings crafted from Mithril by a Master Artificer.

A pair of magic rings meant for mixed race mates seeking to have children. Since hybrid children of two races often face discrimination, a half-elf sorcerer created this pair of rings to allow the children conceived to be pure blood as if both parents were the same race. The rings can be set for the father or the mother's race. The ring optimizes the hybridization eliminating possible complications of the two races.

The ring also protects the mother and prevents any form of complication.

"In some worlds there are many races like humans, elves, dwarves, and beast kin. They can have children together. In many places there is still discrimination, just like with hanyō. If you and Kagome wore those rings, you could have children as pure human as Izayoi or as pure yōkai as your father Tōga despite being a hanyō yourself." explains Oda, "I have encountered several yōkai with human lovers who'd give anything to possess rings like those."

Hanyō are not always the adorable animal people or elves with odd colorations. Many hybrids are deformed (by human standards) due to complications such as Jinenji being a giant with snout despite his father being a pretty boy in human form. Sometimes the complications can be lethal like having a small human heart in a large yōkai body or generating a toxin while lacking immunity.

The fifth and final gift is another piece of magical jewelry. This one is a simple bracelet made of a red-gold metal like copper that is more reflective than polished silver. The red-gold reflections look like flames.

[Disguise Band]

Item

A Legendary-class Rings crafted from Scarletite by a Master Artificer.

A magic bracelet that allows the wearer to change their appearance, be it eye coloration, skin tone, hair coloration, hair length & style, ethnicity, or humanoid race. When in use the bracelet becomes imperceptible to all but the user and can't be stolen.

Hihi'irokane is a legendary Japanese metal said to shine brightly in a way that resembles flames. Its name translates roughly as "Flame-Colored Metal" or "Brilliant Scarlet Metal". English translations often render the name as "scarlet steel" or "scarletite", as was famously used in Final Fantasy. I've heard of it being used for weapons and armor, not disguise items.

When Inuyasha activates his band, he's suddenly human. He doesn't look very different, just black hair, dark eyes, and a lack of ears or claws. It's no different than the form he has the night of the new moon. Inuyasha taps something only he can see and suddenly, he's dressed in a school uniform and his hair is short, making him look like Ranma Saotome from Ranma ½ if Ranma actually wore a uniform. Inuyasha continues to play with the band and then accidentally hits the wrong phantom buttons. He's now a tall large breasted European woman with huge breasts and scarlet red hair in curls, dressed in a fancy party dress. He quickly shifts back to normal after that embarrassing form.

Kagome Higurashi: 4 Gifts

Kagome's cards display her grandfather, late grandmother, late father, mother, her younger brother Sōta Higurashi, his wife Moe, and her niece (Sōta's daughter) Mei. When flipped they display an artistic depiction of Moroha standing with her parents. She also notices the akita dog imagery and Kagome crests and almost giggles.

Kagome opens her first [Universal Gift] and there is a small burst of red smoke. When the smoke clears, it reveals a small scroll that has land in her hand.

[Lotus Sutra]

Item

"The ocean of impediment of all karma Is produced from one's false imagination. Let him sit upright and meditate on the true aspect of reality. Comprehend the truth Transcend the Nameless."

By reciting this sutra, you can calm your mind, body, and spirit. If you're in an unstable state of being or being mentally attacked reciting the sutra can help mitigate the effects. Also, reciting the sutra while meditating has the added benefit of putting you in a contemplative state. You can comprehend the truths and energies of the world better while meditating.

"The Lotus Sutra, also known as the Saddharma Puṇḍarīka Sūtra, is one of the most important and influential texts in Mahayana Buddhism. It is considered the final and most complete teaching of Shakyamuni Buddha, encapsulating the entirety of Indian Buddhist philosophy." says Miroku with a contemplative look on his face. Considering he's a Buddhist Monk, it makes sense he would know about such an important text.

"I do meditate at times." comments Kagome, familiar with Buddhist practices.

Buddhist monks and Shinto shrine maidens cooperate especially when Yōkai are a bigger threat. Until the wars have ended and the number of demons born from dead have decreased, cooperation is key.

When Kagome opens her second Gift, there is a burst a luminescent red smoke that flows into her body. Inuyasha is alarmed, but I raise my hand.

"It's OK. She is being empowered by a skill."

[Aura (RWBY)]

Skill

"For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death. I release your soul, and by my shoulder protect thee."

You have the power of Aura from RWBY. You can gift the power of Aura to others if you can figure out how. Aura will absorb most damage done by any physical or elemental attack you're aware of, give you a bit of a sixth sense, and will enhance your strength, speed, durability, stamina, senses, and reflexes. Aura depletes upon taking damage or as you fatigue – and takes a period of time to recharge once it's gone. Eventually, you'll discover your Semblance - an expression of your soul's true form, fueled by Aura.

"Aura is a spiritual barrier that comes from your own soul. It protects you from physical damage" says Oda, before a Teddy Bear shoots a BB at her. Everyone watches as the BB bounces off an invisible barrier creating a faint ripple of red light. Kagome did it on reflex.

"Why do have toy bears that shoot such small projectiles?" asks Setsuna.

"To cause distractions and to annoy people." replies Oda.

"Ruby?" asks Kagome, not recognizing the name. Not surprising since Rooster Teeth's RWBY came out in 2013, Inuyasha episodes ended in 2004, excluding Final Act.

"The Ruined World of Remnant, a world abandoned by its Gods and infested with soulless abominations known as the Creatures of Grimm. Grimm ruled by the Immortal Witch-Queen Salem who seeks the destruction of humanity – both human and Faunus. The only protections against the Grimm are weapons crafted using a crystal substance called Dust and Huntsmen possessing Aura."

"They can't make weapons and armor from Grimm?" asks Moroha. She makes a living hunting yōkai and selling the parts to yōkai taijiya who make weapons and armor from the bones, scales, horns, and teeth.

"The Creatures of Grimm disintegrate upon death."

Kagome opens her third [Universal Gift] card and more glowing red smoke flows into her. This time she nearly collapses, alarming Inuyasha and their extended family.

"Knowledge bomb." says both me and Oda.

"What's a knowledge bomb!?" demands Inuyasha.

"She was overloaded with knowledge and/or memories. It happens when Gifts download educational knowledge or major skills directly into the owner's brain. To some its completely overwhelming and leaves them unconscious for hours, to others it's just a drop in the bucket." explains Oda. "These days, my own downloads barely make me twitch."

"You were already a super genius before you uncovered the secrets of immortality." I comment, "Another book in a library is not a big deal."

[Education]

Skill

"Knowledge is power."

[History]

You have the equivalent of a degree with a major in history.

Specialization: Japanese History.

[Doctor]

You have the equivalent of a Ph.D. from a reputable medical school. You have the skills to handle just about any medical situation.

Specialization: Child Care/Herbal Medicine

[First-Aid]

You know how to do basic first-aid. You know stuff like mouth-to-mouth, how to stop bleeding, and how to stop someone from biting their tongue off from pain. You have a college 101 course-level knowledge of both biology and anatomy. You find learning further about these subjects to be easy.

Specialization: Poison/Burn Treatment

"I spent all that time in High School, just to get education dumped into my brain." mumbles Kagome, sounding a little out of it.

"Are you OK, Mom?" asks Moroha.

"I'll be OK."

After a couple of minutes, she summons her final Gift. The opening of the Fourth [Universal Gift] is very bright and fancy, and when the light clears, there is a Chinese longbow in her hand. Everyone witnessing the summoning with even the smallest amount of supernatural sense now have wide eyes. That's because they can sense Divine energy coming from the weapon.

[Immortal Slaying Godbow Sun Feller]

Item

"With each arrow loosed, a god's fate sealed; the heavens tremble as immortality falls."

The Legendary Bow of the Immortal Hou Yi, renowned for its role in downing nine golden sun crows from the sky, leaving one to illuminate the heavens and earth, stands as a godly weapon capable of slaying immortals and gods alike.

[Divine]

[God Slayer]

"Holy Shit!"

This isn't just some random magic weapon. It's the equivalent or is a Nasuverse Noble Phantasm – the crystallization of the legend of Hou Yi, A legendary archer who shot down nine of ten sun godlings and turned them into three-legged crows. Any weapon that possesses that level of divine authority would be one of the most dangerous weapons in the mortal world.

"We don't have to worry about angry gods showing up that we stole their weapons, do we?" asks Inuyasha.

"We don't think so." says Oda, "After centuries of opening these Gifts, we have determined these Gift Items are either taken from realities in which the original owners aren't around anymore or they are perfect copies, recreations of form, spirit, and history that aren't rejected by reality."

"So, either the divine archer Hou Yi is deceased in the reality the bow comes from or it's a perfect copy of the bow that can exist in this world." I add on.

Moroha: 4 Gifts

Moroha's cards display images of Inuyasha and Kagome with their families in the background. It's an entire family portrait. On the other side of the card are silhouettes of people she doesn't know, but following the logic it probably her unseen descendants. A fact that makes her blush.

Moroha opens Gift number one of four and there is a burst of red and white particles. When the particles clear she is holding a fluffy white puppy. It turns out to be a realistic plush toy, but it's still adorable.

[Akita Dog Plush]

Item

A small white Akita dog puppy plushie.

9200 Yen/58.28 USD/ XX Ryō

"What's my connection to Akita dogs?"

"Akita is the dog breed your family is based on." explains Oda, "It's a clear indication of human influence in yōkai development."

"What do you mean?" asks Sesshōmaru

"Dogs aren't a natural existence. The dog was domesticated from an extinct population of Pleistocene wolves over 14,000 years ago. Dog yōkai would never come into existence without humans." says Oda, "of course, most yōkai wouldn't exist without humans."

Yōkai are a class of supernatural entities and spirits that are dependent on human existence. These beings are often believed to be manifestations of human emotions, desires, and experiences. As humans fought and died, there unnatural violent deaths tainted the land and water, both with vengeful ghosts and a miasma. Animals that consumed that taint became strange apparitions and usually became hostile to humans due to the lingering emotions of the dead. There are also yōkai born from humans. Humans who became unnatural beings upon death or transformed in life due to their abnormal psychology, such as a woman's wrath transforming her into an Oni. There are also century old relics that came to life merely due to human attachment.

While, there are old gods and animals that have lived unnaturally long lives and ruled as the old gods of the forests, they are rare. It's human conflicts that have spawned the majority of yōkai, which is why the Sengoku Period (1467-1603) is so infested. A period of near-constant civil war, characterized by numerous battles and conflicts among various daimyo seeking power and control over Japan.

Most intelligent yōkai don't realize their origins or don't want to be connected to mortal humans. Most yōkai are either too animalistic or too arrogant to realize that if humans were destroyed, the yōkai would also fade from the world.

Moroha opens her second [Universal Gift] and what appears is even smaller. It appears to a white and gold ticket with an image of fluffy golden pancakes?

[Limitless Pancake Coupon]

Item

"There is hardship in everything, except eating pancakes."

An invulnerable magical item in the form of a golden ticket that once-a-day can summon 3 soft and delicious pancakes for the owner. These pancakes have the maximum nutrition, while possessing supernatural levels of heavenly taste. Item is theft proof and cannot be lost.

Moroha triggers the Coupon.

The plate of three supernaturally delicious heavenly pancakes is a sight to behold. Each pancake is perfectly round, fluffy, and golden brown, with a heavenly aroma that tantalizes the senses. The surface of the pancakes glistens with a light sheen of sweet syrup, giving them a mouthwatering appearance. As she cuts into the pancakes, they reveal a soft and airy interior that practically melts in her mouth. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, that makes these pancakes truly extraordinary. The plate is garnished with a sprinkle of edible gold flakes, adding a touch of luxury to this divine culinary creation.

The sounds that Moroha makes when eating these pancakes is disturbing to the point even the stoic Lord Sesshōmaru is blushing slightly. Inuyasha is wondering if he should start yelling at people to stop starring.

"Those were amazing~" says Moroha with a goofy smile.

"We should be glad you can only get three a day." says Towa, "Otherwise you would end up rounder than an overfed Hachiemon or blood-drunk Myōga."

"You don't know what's it like to taste heaven." says Moroha licking the syrup from her lips.

"I would rather not, if it means acting so lewdly." says Setsuna, blushing.

Moroha asks what she means by lewd and after a couple minutes she realizes how she acted like a taste teaser from Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma. The demon slayer suddenly wishes she had a hole to jump into.

It takes a solid five minutes for her to get over her embarrassment.

Moroha opens her third Gift and glowing red-and-white sparks flow into her head.

[First Aid]

Skill

"The best first-aid kit is knowledge."

You know how to do basic first-aid. You know stuff like mouth-to-mouth, how to stop bleeding, and how to stop someone from biting their tongue off from pain. You have a college 101 course-level knowledge of both biology and anatomy. You find learning further about these subjects to be easy.

"Ouch." says Moroha with a small headache as she drops to her ass. "Why did I get healer skills?"

"I'm guessing because your mom also got them?" theorizes Oda.

Kagome is happy her daughter now has a college education, but at the same time she winces at the download. Moroha has never been a book smart person and this Gift just made sudden changes.

"You find learning further about these subjects to be easy." says Kagome reading the last line off the projected screen, "Did this Gift change the way my daughter thinks?"

"It only enhanced her learning speed when it comes to those subjects." says Oda, "It could be a lot worse. Ever since I got my own knowledge download, I end up making a ton of Teddy Bears."

A group of one hundred teddy bear automatons appear around the group, showing they were hiding in the trees and bushes. Inuyasha's friends and family are all startled that they were surrounded from the start. It's especially startling to those with dog yōkai blood since even their enhanced senses couldn't detect the mechanical bears, who not only move silently, but don't have a scent. I never thought robotic teddy bear could be intimidating, until you see a Teddy Bear pulling off a Solid Snake from Metal Gear complete with Glowing Eyes of Doom.

"Why are your minions around us?" asks Rin.

"They are always around me." says Oda, patting the head of one of fluffiest bears, "The reason I can relax is because my back and the backs of my friends are always protected."

"Let's move on. We don't have all night to talk about eccentric geniuses." I say with a smirk.

Moroha opens her last [Universal Gift] and she receives another skill download. She is glad she is sitting down because she nearly knocked unconscious by the overflowing memories.

[Supernatural Archery]

Skill

"The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and he bends with his might that his arrows may go swift and far."

Users have glaringly, obviously and super/unnaturally proficiently with the bow and arrow than what is naturally possible, being able launch multiple arrows with one shot and would always strike its intended target, regardless of the distance, making them able to have great skill than normal members of their species without the need of training.

Moroha pulls out her bow and fires an arrow. The arrow then proceeds to impale physics through the skull by curving in a way that isn't normal. It lands back in hand of Inuyasha's daughter and there are six leaves impaled on the arrow like a vegan shish kebab. Inuyasha couldn't even see those leaves in air, but she managed to impale all of them!

"Who were those archers?" asks Moroha, a little panicked at her actions. "I saw a bunch of archers showing off their skills. I think I had a vision of another world. Many worlds!"

"Describe them." I say, ready to test my inner fanatic.

"One was a young man riding a red deer. He wore a hood that covered his head and his arm was covered in a curse mark that moved like worms. When he was attacked by bandits that were attacking a village, he took off a bandit's arms with a single arrow and took the head of another clean off!"

"Prince Ashitaka of the Emishi. He defended his village from a boar god turned hideous demon and was cursed. Exiled from his village, he sought the old gods of forest for a cure. Instead, he found a conflict between the people of Iron Town led by Lady Eboshi and the animals of the forest lead by the Wolf Goddess Moro. It turns out the demonization of Gods was caused by hatred that poisoned their bodies and souls. Ashitaka tried to end the conflict becoming involved with San, the human girl adopted by Moro and known as Princess Mononoke." I say taking a sip of my drink, "Things were made even more complicated by Hunters seeking the head of the Great Forest Spirit because the Emperor was offering gold for a chance at immortality."

"Humans seeking immortality is always a problem." says Miroku.

Buddhism emphasizes impermanence and the acceptance of the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth known as samsara. The pursuit of immortality goes against the fundamental Buddhist belief in the transient nature of existence and the inevitability of death. There are many stories about those who go against both nature and heavens will becoming demons.

I also remember the characters from Xianxia novel who cultivate immortality and lightning tries to fry them (Heavenly Tribulation).

"How did the story end?" asks Moroha.

"A mess. A Boar God Nago and his clan came to help the Forest only to be slaughtered by the better armed Hunters. They then manipulated the Boar God into taking them to the pool of the Forest Spirit by wearing the skins of his clan."

"How did that work!?"

"Nago was blind and his senses were already filled with the scent of blood. When the deception was revealed, Nago descended and became a Demon. The Great Forest Spirit was forced to drain Nago of life. Lady Eboshi then decapitated the Great Forest Spirit unwittingly transforming into it into a God of Death that nearly wiped out everyone. Moro died, but not before ripping off Eboshi's arm. Ashitaka and San returned the head to the spirit, but the spirit died completely. In the end Ashitaka stayed with the human to build a better Iron Town, while San continued to protect the reborn forest. It was a good story about living in balance with nature."

"Sounds a little depressing." says Moroha, "What about the other one? The other one was a young woman with shoulder-length raven-black hair and striking silver-grey eyes. She was leading a group of young women hunting in a forest under the light of the moon. It felt like she was connected to the moon."

"Artemis. Goddess of nature, childbirth, wildlife, healing, the hunt, sudden death, animals, virginity, young women, and archery. If I had to guess, Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series."

Kagome's eyes widen at her daughter being connected to a goddess. She is familiar with the Greek Goddess from classes she had in her modern school. Her niece Towa also recognizes the name since she grew up in a similar modern era.

"A Goddess?" asks Rin.

"In Percy Jackson's world, the Gods were still very active and the Greek Gods in particular were still playing with mortals and producing hybrid children. Those half-blood or demigods attract monsters by their very nature, so they are trained at special camps to learn to fight monsters."

"Cool." says Moroha, using a "modern" term.

"Not cool. Half-Bloods don't have long lives as the monsters constantly hunt them and their monsters constantly respawn, so they can't be permanently exterminated." I explain, "The main Hero was Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon – God of the Sea and one of the Big Three. Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon are to the Greeks what Amaterasu, Tsukiyomi, and Susanno are to Japanese."

Both sets of divine trios play significant roles within their respective mythologies. The Greek Big Three are pivotal figures who hold immense power over different domains - sky (Zeus), underworld (Hades), and sea (Poseidon). Their interactions often shape major events in Greek mythology. On the other hand, the Japanese trio embodies essential elements like light (Amaterasu), darkness (Tsukiyomi), and chaos (Susanno). Each deity contributes uniquely to maintaining harmony within their mythological universe.

"Well, that's horrible. What's special about Artemis?" says Moroha not knowing anything about a foreign ancient goddess.

"The Hunters of Artemis are humans, demigods, and nymphs who swear loyalty to the goddess Artemis in joining nature, the hunt and staying a virgin. The hunters possess immortality and eternal youth as long as they don't fall in battle."

"Let's move on." says Inuyasha.

Lord Sesshōmaru: 2 Gifts

Sesshōmaru's cards display himself standing in front of his father and mother in their human forms, with their three canine forms in the background. On the other side is the image of him standing next to his wife Rin and his daughters Towa and Setsuna. The edges of his cards are decorated with crescent moons.

When Sesshōmaru opens his first gift there is an explosion of white clouds that crackle with electricity as if they were about to unleash lightning.

What's revealed is a massive, gleaming bone that emanates an aura of ancient power. It is several feet in length and as thick as a tree trunk, with a surface that appears to be made of polished ivory. The bone is intricately carved with intricate patterns and symbols that seem to shimmer and glow faintly when exposed to light. Its edges are razor-sharp, resembling the keen edge of a finely crafted blade. The sheer size and weight of the bone convey a sense of awe-inspiring strength and durability, hinting at the mystical properties it possesses.

"What in the world is that thing? It's like a giant dog bone! What animal did that come from?" says Inuyasha.

Moroha, with a mischievous grin on her face, quips, "Well, well, well… Looks like Uncle Sesshōmaru got himself a new chew toy! Wonder if he'll bury it in the backyard." She chuckles at her own joke, finding humor in the unexpected gift bestowed upon her stoic uncle. Kagome is looking at her daughter and wondering if she's high.

Towa and Setsuna exchange puzzled glances before bursting into laughter simultaneously. Towa manages to gasp out between giggles, "I never thought I'd see the day when Sesshōmaru would be gifted a giant bone!" Setsuna shakes her head in amusement, unable to contain her amusement at the sheer ridiculousness of the situation.

Sesshōmaru is very good at hiding his embarrassment even from his daughters.

[Emperor Dog Bone]

Item

The Emperor Dog Bone is a legendary artifact. This giant supernatural bone is specifically crafted for giant supernatural canines. When a canine consumes part of this bone, it bestows upon them unparalleled dental benefits. The Emperor Dog Bone drastically enhances the dental health of the canine, rendering their teeth stronger than even the most formidable swords known in that realm. Canines who partake of this mystical bone find their teeth fortified to an extraordinary degree, capable of effortlessly cleaving through any obstacle with ease.

Item can self-shrink for storage.

Sesshōmaru places his hand on the massive bone and in an instant, it shrinks so small it could be hidden in the palm of the hand. The displaying of air is so loud it's like thunder and wind blows as it rushes into the vacuum. I suddenly get a flashback to God of Highschool, as Sesshōmaru claiming the dog bone is like Jin Mori – The Monkey KIng – claiming the Nyoibō!

"Even a Dog Bone can be OP." I comment. My voice is low, but a good portion of the audience have enhanced hearing.

Sesshōmaru calmly puts the dog bone away and opens his second gift.

It's is a large, ancient scroll made of durable, aged parchment. Its surface is adorned with intricate golden runes that seem to shimmer and glow faintly when in use. The edges of the scroll are lined with delicate silver filigree, adding an air of elegance to its appearance. When unfurled, the center of the scroll reveals a mesmerizing design depicting swirling patterns of yoki energy intertwining with mystical symbols related to demon arts. Overall, the scroll exudes an aura of power and wisdom, befitting its purpose as a tool for mastering demonic energy and developing personalized demon arts.

[Master Scroll of Demon Arts]

Item

A magic scroll that helps its owner further develop their mastery of demonic energy (yoki) and development of personalized demon arts (youjutsu).

Demon art training speed increased when using this scroll, allowing 1000 years of training in one year.

Sesshōmaru doesn't say a word, just nods in approval, and puts the insanely valuable scroll away.

Rin: 6 Gifts

Rin's cards display images that make her smile. The front displays her, Sesshōmaru, and Jaken travelling together when they were younger, back when Naraku was still a nuisance. The back is identical to Sesshōmaru's [Universal Gift] cards, showing her, her husband, and her children.

As Rin opens her first of six Gifts, it becomes a ball of golden energy that flows into her body. It makes her briefly glow with a faint golden aura, that makes her look heaven blessed.

[Curse Eater]

Skill

You can literally eat curses for breakfast. Whenever you get targeted by a curse, you are able to eat the energies that compose that curse with your own (magical) energy. Negating any effect the curse had, and giving you a boost of energy from digesting that curse.

Sesshōmaru, Towa, and Setsuna are all happy with Rin's new gift. Rin is protected from potential harm from Sesshōmaru's more magic-inclined enemies. Rin spent over a decade under the influence of the Silver-Scale Curse - a type of life-ending curse of vile demonic magic used by Zero. Now, that kind of curse can never be used again.

Rin opens Gift number two of six and another ball of light enters her indicating a second skill.

[Contaminant Immunity]

Skill

The user is immune to poisons, toxins, venoms, viruses, bacteria, parasites, pathogens, allergen, etc. These include supernatural variants of contaminants that mundane humans would have no chance of surviving and technological contaminants such as radioactive particles and nanomachines.

It's again good news. This would grant her protection against both mundane diseases and poisons, and against the venom and shōki of enemy yōkai.

Shōki (miasma) is highly corrosive and poisonous gaseous mist, a purple, smoke-like form, used by many demons as a means of both attack and/or defense. It also contains the Jaki (evil energy) of malevolent yōkai. It was Naraku's favorite technique with his concentrated liquefied Shōki able to melt mortal creatures to the bone in an instant.

"What are 'radioactive particles and nanomachines'" saying Sesshōmaru, seriously. He's never heard of those threats in this era.

"Something that humans could create in the future." says Oda, "Radioactive particles are small particles that generate a dangerous invisible light that damages the flesh of the living. It's similar to Jaki, but it comes from non-living inorganic particles. My research indicates a strong barrier can protect against those particles, but not the burst of an explosion."

Should I be worried Oda is experimenting with nuclear material and supernatural elements, I'm worried he will accidentally create Tiberium (Command and Conquer).

"Nanomachines are microscopic animated tools. Billions of them working together and so small they look like metal powder or liquid metal. They are good at taking apart and reassembling items into new forms. They can be used to heal, but they can also be used to tear apart a living creature at a level too small to see."

Rin opens Gift number three of six and another ball of light enters her indicating a third skill. I don't know what's up with Rin's luck, maybe Gaea is making up for "orphan girl killed twice and cursed to miss a decade of her children's lives".

[Regenerative Healing Factor]

Skill

Users possess a regenerative healing factor, meaning that they can rapidly heal and get restored to their optimal and full health/state at an extremely fast rate. Unlike Healing, regeneration/healing factor is a process that happens unconsciously without the need for activation, resulting in a constant state of optimal health.

Nobody says anything. Everyone knows what regeneration is as many yōkai and mixed breeds possess it. It was also the most common power of those possessing shards of the Shikon no Tama. Until Inuyasha started to do serious damage with his sword, Kagome needed to locate the shard or the demon would regenerate over and over again.

Rin having regeneration means she's better protected and her husband and daughters are less stressed.

Rin opens Gift number four of six and another ball of light enters her indicating a fourth skill. This time there are golden sparks which indicates an Archetype!

[Archetype: Scavenger]

Skill

The user fulfills the Archetype of a scavenger, a person who hunts for anything that's considerably valuable or a fallout survivor who scavenges for food or anything else in order to survive.

Greater chance at acquiring Scavenger archetype Gifts.

"Fallout survivor?" asks Setsuna.

"Humans imagine the various ways the world could end. One of those ways is Nuclear Apocalypse in which a large number of bombs containing radioactive particles are used in a globe spanning war." I explain as continue to drink my milk, "Thankfully, in Kagome's time, the world leaders know a Nuclear War wouldn't have any winners. By my and Oda's time, nuclear weapons are mostly gone from the world."

I don't mention that in the Quirk-infested world of MHA, superpowers made nukes redundant. Meta-revolutionaries wiped out many old governments, mostly the ones with the most human rights violations like North Korea, Syria, Myanmar, and Saudi Arabia. North Korea is half wasteland to this very day in my (MHA) home world.

Rin calmly opens Gift number five of six and another ball of light enters her indicating a fifth skill.

[Survival Mastery]

Skill

The user is a master of survival and all skills applicable to survival, thus allowing them to easily survive in any and all environments, actively prepare for emergencies, including possible disruptions in social or political order, on scales from local to international.

Survival is good. The [Universal Gifts] seems to be dedicated to protecting Rin.

Rin calmly opens Gift number six of six and another ball of light enters her. That is unique. Rin received Six Gifts – the max number - and got All Skills. That would be like winning the lottery level of luck.

[Treasure Detection]

Skill

Users can sense the presence of treasure and possibly gain detailed understanding about the treasure they are sensing. They can determine kind of treasure, the size of treasure structures they are sensing by determining the amount and whether or not that treasure is hidden.

Sesshōmaru's eyes narrow. While being able to find treasures could mean wealth and financial security, it also means any greedy fool would be after Rin if they knew about her Treasure Detection Skill. He gives a patented glare that says "Tell anyone about this skill and I will know, then I will make sure you know that I know."

Towa Higurashi: 1 Gift

Towa's singular [Universal Gift] card shows her with her parents at her sides and the Higurashi family behind her. It basically shows the family dynamics that occurred. The future image on the other side also shows silhouettes. It's clear the Era Tree doesn't want to show spoilers. Towa is a little sad she only got one Gift, but at the same time she is worried about the Gift's contents.

As Towa opens her gift there is a burst of blue-white energy like the electric plasma washes over her. It many ways it resembles the Sōryūha attacked used by both her and her father. It doesn't harm her like the attack, instead making her glow blue briefly.

[Poison Immunity]

Skill

The user is immune to all forms of poisons/toxins/venom. This makes a perfect counter-ability to those with Poison Manipulation, Poison Inducement, and Poison Generation. This also include all forms of Venom Secretion. With complete protection from venom, the user could be bitten/stung by a toxic creature and merely sustain physical damage. Ingesting, inhaling or even drinking poisons/toxins/venom wouldn't harm the user, more-than-likely just leaving a bad taste. This immunity extends to demonic, infernal, divine, and outer universal toxins.

"Wow, this is incredible! I can't believe I now have the power to be immune to all forms of poisons, toxins, and venom. This will definitely give me an edge against opponents who rely on such methods."

I'm not sure if she's really that excited about the skill or she's just playing things up.

She already possessed some poison immunity due to being Sesshōmaru's daughter. His Dokkasō can melt his opponents, even the bones of his own deceased father. Even his drool in his canine form is corrosive. Despite inherited her father's poison resistance, Towa still remained susceptible to some venom-based attacks, such as venom-infused water. This skill has removed that weakness.

Setsuna: 3 Gifts

Setsuna's cards have the same imagery as her older twin Towa, but doesn't have the Higurashi family in the background. Instead, it shows her fellow Yōkai taijiya. She doesn't bother to look at the images on the other side as she knows it will just be more silhouettes.

As Setsuna opens card one of three it dissolves into brightly green luminescent particles that streak into her body. She immediately collapses and is caught by her sister. It's a symptom of knowledge overload

[Balance of the Brains]

Skill

Sometimes siblings possess identical levels of education, sometimes siblings have different levels of education due to being raised in different environments.

One time use, the user gains their sibling's level of education.

Setsuna is overwhelmed by Japanese literature, social studies, mathematics, science, foreign languages, home economics, and art appreciation.

"So, this is your schooling, sister." says Setsuna, sounding dazed, "I never realized how much you and Kagome suffered."

After a few minutes she recovers enough to open Gift number two of three. The same green lights streak into her body and gain she nearly collapses from the information.

[Naginatajutsu Mastery]

Skill

Users, either innately or through training, are masters of wielding naginata, pole weapons and one of several varieties of traditionally made Japanese blades or more commonly known as a Japanese halberd, with incredible expertise in speed, power, and skill, allowing them to perform feats such as stopping and deflecting bullets, decimating large objects or areas, cutting through a solid material such as steel, and even hold back their strength to deal damage to their foes without killing them.

"I saw... I saw..."

It takes a good twenty minutes to explain what memories she saw. The most confusing being a 666 cm (21'10") tall human with a white mustache who could cause thunder when he punched. I'm not the biggest One Piece fan (series is too long for my attention span), but even I know about the Strongest Man in the World, Edward Newgate/Whitebeard (One Piece).

She is also confused about a talking turtle in a modern city, which I guess is Donatello from the 2012 version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I don't go into details as that would confuse them more and take several hours to explain.

At least Setsuna is happy with her boosted Naginatajutsu. She was already very powerful to begin with.

Setsuna finally opens her last Gift. The same streaks of green appear, but one streak goes through Towa before entering Setsuna.

"Hey!"

Miroku: 5 Gifts

Miroku's card imagery looks a little simplified. Instead of being photorealistic like the previous cards, it looks more like the black-and-white artwork from Rumiko Takahashi's manga. It shows Miroku on the front with his father standing behind him with his hand on his shoulder, and his grandfather standing behind his father doing the same encouraging gesture. On the back his wife, twin daughters, and son. Part of him wishes he could keep the portrait and its lovely. He also notices a faint image of Maitreya, Buddha of the Future, which his name is a reference to.

A generously filled sandwich with succulent marbled meat, tangy pickled onions, and a glossy layer of spicy dark red-brown sauce. All these ingredients are neatly enclosed between a perfectly toasted bun, giving it a golden-brown hue and a mouth-watering aroma.

When Miroku opens his first gift, there is a burst of light and wind, like an inversion of his former wind tunnel.

A sandwich appears.

A visually appealing culinary creation that showcases layers of ingredients meticulously assembled to create a mouth-watering masterpiece. At first glance, the sandwich presents itself as a work of art on a plate. The toasted bun, glistening with a golden hue, forms the base of the sandwich, providing a sturdy foundation for the delectable fillings.

[Roasted Boar Sandwich (Toriko)]

Item

The Roasted Boar Sandwich created by Komatsu at Hotel Gourmet is a culinary masterpiece that combines the succulent marbled meat of a Vajrayaksa Boar with tangy pickled onions, Toriko-approved 10-star Barbecue Sauce, all nestled between a perfectly toasted bun. The rich flavors of the boar meat complemented by the zing of the pickled onions and the savory sweetness of the barbecue sauce create a harmonious blend that tantalizes the taste buds. The toasted bun adds a delightful crunch to each bite, making this sandwich a true gourmet delight.

Miroku already hungry decides to take a bite before N2 can warn him.

As Miroku took the first bite of the Roasted Boar Sandwich gifted to him by the world of Toriko, his eyes widened in sheer delight. The succulent marbled meat of the Vajrayaksa Boar melted in his mouth, releasing a burst of rich, savory flavors that danced on his taste buds. The tangy pickled onions provided a sharp contrast, cutting through the richness of the meat with their refreshing zing.

But it was the Toriko-approved 10-star Barbecue Sauce that truly sent Miroku into a state of euphoria. The complex blend of spices and seasonings in the sauce elevated the sandwich to new heights, each ingredient harmonizing perfectly to create a symphony of taste in his mouth. As he chewed, Miroku could feel himself being transported to a realm of culinary bliss, where every flavor note was perfectly balanced and every texture flawlessly executed.

And just when he thought it couldn't get any better, Miroku reached the toasted bun. The crunchiness of the bun added a delightful textural contrast to the tender meat and velvety sauce, completing the sensory experience. With each subsequent bite, Miroku's food-gasmic reaction only intensified, his expression one of pure ecstasy as he savored every morsel of this gourmet masterpiece.

"Miroku!" says an embarrassed Sango, slapping her husband back to his senses.

"This is why you don't eat Toriko or Soma food in public." I comment.

After a lecture about eating strange food, Miroku opens his next gift and the result is...a watch.

[Grand Seiko Watch]

Item

The Grand Seiko 4580-7010 VFA watch is a highly sought-after timepiece known for its exceptional craftsmanship and precision. This watch features a stunning design with a classic stainless-steel case and bracelet. The dial is elegantly designed with a beautiful blue color and showcases the date function. The movement of this watch is renowned for its accuracy, making it a favorite among watch enthusiasts. With a price of 3,200,000 Yen (approximately 20,271.78 USD), the Grand Seiko 4580-7010 VFA watch is a luxurious and sophisticated choice for those who appreciate fine horology.

After a couple of minutes of confusion, he opens the next Gift. This time a small heart-shaped golden locket with a thin golden chain lands in his hand.

[Heart Locket]

Item

A heart-shaped magical item that shows photos of the wearer's romantic love. These photos show every moment the wearer and their lover have known each other. Deception can't be displayed by this locket, only the truth of pure love.

Locket can never be damaged or stolen, only transferred between lovers.

[Protection of The Lovers]

While one lover is wearing this locket, the sanctity of both minds are protected. Minds, memories, and souls are protected, so love can never be harmed.

Miroku opens the locket and inside is a picture of Sango. They smile at each other.

I would complain about sappy romantic junk, but I've done worse to make Izumi and Irene happy. Love makes you act like an idiot.

Miroku opens a fourth gift and a necklace of 108 beads falls into his hand.

"Mala?"

A japamala, jaap maala, or simply mala ('garland') is a loop of prayer beads commonly used in Indian religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. It is used for counting recitations (japa) of mantras, prayers or other sacred phrases. It is also worn to ward off evil, to count repetitions within some other form of sadhana (spiritual practice) such as prostrations before a holy icon. They are also used as symbols of religious identification. Miroku is very familiar with them as he once had some wrapped around his wrist to seal his Wind Tunnel. He hasn't needed them since Naraku died and the curse was finally lifted.

[Beads of Purification]

Item

A necklace of 108 sacred beads possessing the power to remove and seal away poisons. When the user is poisoned, they can remove all poison from their bodies and seal it into a bead. As there are 108 beads, this item can only be used 108 times.

"Considering how many times you've been poisoned, this a good item." says Inuyasha.

"To be fair, over 80% of the time that was Naraku pulling out those Saimyōshō."

"Whatever happened to those damn bugs?"

"Naraku stopped using them after Hakudōshi and opted to use a deadlier form of miasma. I doubt he would give the nest to anyone else, as everyone was his enemy, so I'm guessing it was destroyed along with his body.

Miroku opens his final gift and three charms land in his hand. They are palm size statues of a goddess made of a pure white material. The goddess is clearly beautiful with a very curvy form is simply dressed and has feathery white wings curved around her. Each charm has a simple chain so it can either be hung around the neck or on the waist.

[Life Charm] x 3

Item

The Life Charm is a revered artifact originating from the magical kingdom of Sword Haven. These charms are highly sought after by heroes and adventurers due to their extraordinary ability to safeguard their users from fatal harm. Despite their steep price, Life Charms offer a unique form of protection - when the owner faces a lethal injury, the charm intervenes, absorbing the damage in place of its bearer. This remarkable feature has saved countless lives and earned these charms a legendary status among those who dare to venture into perilous quests.

Miroku is of course grateful and appreciative of the items. They could save his life (or another's) in the future and I have no doubt he will send prayers to the otherworldly goddess. Hopefully the Isekai Goddess is a good one and not a braindead moron like Aqua from KonoSuba.

Sango: 3 Gifts

Sango's card is the same quality as her husband's card and shows her standing with her father and brother. They are young in the photo, from the time they faced Naraku. On the other side, Sango's cards display herself, her husband, and their children. Their children are in full Yōkai taijiya, except for their nun oldest daughter. The card is decorated with pink coral imagery.

Sango opens her first gift and there is an explosion of coral pink smoke. When the smoke clears, there are three pieces of art in front of her. Art is very popular in Japan and oddly enough one of the reasons the military took over the country was because the nobility was wasting too much money on art.

I take a close look at the art and realize it's animation art!

[The Art of Romance]

Item

Three pieces of artwork from three different with one commonality.

Van Fanel and Hitomi Kanzaki from The Vision of Escaflowne.

Jay and Theresa from Class of the Titans.

Clara and Eric from Barbie in the Nutcracker.

"A western prince with bird wings and a girl from Kagome's time in front of giant suit of armor. A group of seven teenagers, one with a sword, and monsters in the background. A blonde European princess in a pink dress." says Sango, "I don't get it. What's the connection to us?"

"Voice. In animations, people are paid to be the voices of the characters. The same people that play Miroku and Sango, also play these people, who are also couples."

"The same voice and there together. Would we like them?"

"Van is a half-Draconian Prince of the Land of Fanellia. He uses a powerful suit of armor called the Escaflowne to fight against the forces of Emperor Dornkirk who wants the Escaflowne to control fate. Hitomi is ordinary school girl with precognitive powers who's transported to Van's world and ends up helping him."

Inuyasha's group is getting a strange sense. Congratulations, you are understanding the concept of Isekai. Towa has a look of realization on her face as she realizes the fact.

"In Clash of the Titans, Cronus and the titans are breaking free from there imprisonment by the Ancient Gods of Greece and Heroes are needed. Jay is a descendant of Jason of the Argonauts. Jason was famous for a long quest in which he stole Golden Fleece. Theresa on the other hand is the fighting descendant of Theseus, a divine hero and the founder of Athens whose most famous for killing the Minotaur – think a man-eating yokai with a man's body and a bull's head. "

"Don't Greek heroes often have tragic endings?" asks Kagome.

"This group had better luck and more common sense. I mean seriously, Jason was blessed by the Goddess of Marriage and Queen of the Gods Hera and married to one of most powerful sorceresses in history Medea. A woman who literally killed her father for him. Then he got the bright idea to marry a Princess to regain his nobility and have Medea as a mistress, breaking his Oath. Of course, his life ended in tragedy."

"Seriously? He was blessed by the Goddess of Marriage and he cheats on her?" says Sango, "He's also married to a sorceress with a bloody history? What a moron."

"Clara and Eric? It's basically a doll company making a film based on Tchaikovsky's 1892 ballet, The Nutcracker. Ballet being a form of dance on a stage. Basic plot, with the help of a normal girl a magical prince must find a fairy princess to defeat the magic of an evil rat king."

Sango decides not to ask more about a play that won't exist for centuries. She opens her next gift and this time the pink smoke flows into her body indicating a skill.

[Culinary Talent]

Skill

You possess an extraordinary talent for transforming ordinary ingredients into extraordinary culinary creations. Through your mastery of culinary techniques and knowledge of flavor profiles, you can transmute the simplest of ingredients into gastronomic marvels. Your cooking is an art form, where you blend science and creativity to push the boundaries of taste and texture.

"You'll be able to make amazing food." says Miroku.

"You're saying my food isn't amazing?" says Sango, fake anger.

"Not as amazing as you are?" Miroku offers.

"Nice Save." I whisper, making those with enhanced sense giggle (excluding Setsuna and Sesshōmaru, because I can't imagine inu daiyōkai being capable of giggling).

Sango opens her last gift and it's another skill that flows into her.

[The God's Tongue]

Skill

The God's Tongue, known as "Kami no Shita" is a superhuman ability that grants the wielder an ultra-acute sense of taste. This heightened sense allows the individual to discern even the most subtle flavors, textures, and ingredients in a dish. Those with the God's Tongue can detect minute variations in cooking techniques and ingredients that are imperceptible to ordinary individuals.

In the context of cooking, having the God's Tongue ability is a significant advantage. It enables the user to create dishes of unparalleled quality by adjusting flavors with precision and perfection. Chefs with this ability can elevate their culinary skills to extraordinary levels, leading to the creation of exceptional and unforgettable dishes that captivate those who taste them.

Miroku is hiding an evil smile. I know what he's planning. He's planning on sharing his sandwich with his wife. Hopefully in a very private place, where they won't traumatize their children.

Kin'u: 4 Gifts

Kin'u's card imagery is identical to the back of Sango's cards, simply showing their family. There is some decoration – golden crows – which match her name.

When Kin'u opens her gift there is a burst of golden lights in the form of golden feathers. Her first item is a small cloth bag with a drawstring and as she unties and opens the bag, I see very familiar green beans.

"Senzu beans!"

[Senzu Beans]

Item

Senzu Beans are mystical beans with immense rejuvenation properties that can only grow in areas of high spiritual energy. When eaten, a person's physical condition is near-instantly restored to its natural peak. This property makes them immensely useful to carry in battle. The properties of a Senzu Bean are highly versatile: fatigue disappears, stamina and ki reserves are restored, and the eater becomes fully nourished. The nourishing properties are also so potent that one Senzu Bean can keep a person full for ten days.

She is happy to have the mystical medicinal beans, but she wonders one thing.

"What happens if you eat many of them?"

"You blow up like a ball." I answer, "These are from a series called Dragon Ball, a series originally based on a Chinese novel called Journey to the West. These beans were used whenever characters were training to the point their bodies broke or fighting against far superior enemies. One fat fool call Yajirobe snacked on them and ended up bloated."

"Snacking on medicine is very foolish" says Kin'u.

"So is training yourself to the point you break your body." says Setsuna, "Injuring yourself to that point only delays training."

"The protagonist Goku had a special trait called Zenkai Boost. It allowed him to get stronger when he recovered from an injured state." explains Towa and then noticing people are looking at her, she adds, "I watched some of it. It's a good show even if they obsess with Goku."

Kin'u saves Towa from further embarrassment by opening her next Gift. The golden crow feathers flow into her body indicating a skill.

[Birdie]

Skill

The user gains the ability to transform into a bird at will. In this form, they retain their minds, but possess all abilities and instincts of their new avian form.

Bird: Crow

This transformation allows the user to fly swiftly and silently, navigate with exceptional precision, and tap into the keen senses typical of these intelligent birds. The user would also inherit the Crow's adaptability, resourcefulness, and cunning nature.

Bonus: Storage

When the user transforms into their avian form, all items and equipment on the user including clothing are stored in magical pocket dimension. When the user returns to human form, all formerly equipped items are reequipped.

In a burst of golden light, Kin'u transforms into a crow. She looks around, hops around, and then flies around for several minutes. Her parents look worried, but we aren't sensing any danger or distress coming from the bird. Only Kin'u's feelings of joy at being able to fly under her own power. She finally lands and reverts back to normal.

Kin'u looks excited and a tiny bit greedy, as she opens the next Gift. She regrets being eager when the gift drops a huge scroll on her, nearly braining her.

A massive, intricately decorated scroll made of ancient, durable parchment. It is adorned with intricate golden motifs that shimmer in the light, depicting celestial beings and sacred symbols related to Buddhism. The edges of the scroll are lined with ornate silk tassels in vibrant colors, symbolizing wisdom and enlightenment. When unfurled, the scroll emanates a faint mystical aura, hinting at the powerful energies it contains within.

Those with yōkai blood feel a little uncomfortable around the holy relic and they all have good aligned hearts. If an evil hearted yōkai was near the scroll I would imagine he would be smoking if not on fire.

[Grand Scroll of Buddhist Mysticism]

Item

A giant mystic scroll belonging to the Heavenly Sky Sect and allows for the rapid development of Buddhist mysticism. This includes heightened intuition, chakra point manipulation, divine conductivity, Godai Manipulation, mystic martial arts, meditation, Kanji & Hanja Magic, paper charm magic, and meditation exercises.

"Holy." exclaims Kin'u

"No shit." I reply. "Simple name, but I would bet every Buddhist sect in the world would want to get their hands on that scroll."

"I wouldn't mind doing some research on it." says Irene.

"N2 would be able to copy sections and distribute them to various sects." says Oda.

In Germany, around 1440, the goldsmith Johannes Gutenberg invented the movable-type printing press, which started the Printing Revolution. His most famous print being the Bible. Thanks to N2, everyone on Horai Island is literate and has access to religious (and mystical) texts. With this I imagine "Buddhist mysticism" will become an elective.

"Let's finishing opening the Gifts first!" says Gyokuto

Kin'u opens her final gift and it's clearly a skill as the golden feathers flow into her, but an item also appears from a single feather. A high quality Khakkhara or shakujō as they are pronounced in Japan. An odd symbol also appears on the back of her hand resembling the loops of the headpiece.

[Khakkhara Proficiency]

Skill

Users, either innately or through training, are masters of wielding khakkhara, staffs topped with metal rings traditionally carried by Buddhist monks, particularly in the East Asian tradition.

Bonus: Khakkhara Seal

User can summon their Khakkhara to their hand with a thought and store the staff inside a magic seal on their wrist.

Bonus: Khakkhara (High Quality)

A khakkhara is a staff topped with metal rings traditionally carried by Buddhist monks, particularly in East Asian Buddhism. Originally used as a noisemaker to announce a monk's presence and frighten away animals, it was adapted for use as a rhythmic instrument during chanting and sutra recitation, and for use as a weapon.

Kin'u then falls over from the knowledge overload. After a few minutes, she is awake and mumbling.

"I saw Dad fighting against demons with his staff. I saw an angry oni attacking a young samurai with a scar on his forehead and a female oni that was helping the boy. He was shooting lightning. There were also these white-skinned people with three ringed eyes possessing the power of immense beasts."

"Congratulations Miroku. Your skill in staff fighting was considered good enough for a Gifty to copy."

"Thanks" says Miroku more worried about his daughter, "Who were the other two?"

"Sekido from Demon Slayer and either Ōtsutsuki or Uchiha from Naruto. The former is part of a demon that can split into various bodies based on emotions with Sekido being Anger. He was fighting a demon slayer called Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko."

"A Demon sister?"

"She turned into a demon by a demon called Muzan and he's questing to turn her back. They succeed."

"And the Ōtsutsuki or Uchiha?"

"It would take too long to explain. So, let's just say clans with special eye powers from a series about very loud mystical ninjas."

Loud ninjas? What kind of ninjas are loud? I can see the same thought on the faces of Inuyasha's family.

Gyokuto: 2 Gifts

Gyokuto's card imagery is identical to her older twin sister's card. Her decoration includes Jade rabbits which makes sense since her name means "Jade Hare".

As she opens her first gift there is a burst of green light and she finds herself holding an octagonal stone talisman with image of a rabbit in purple on the front. She watches as the talisman glows an eerie green before sinking into her hand and vanishing. She is also alarmed when the green glow spreads out and covers her body, before sinking into it.

[Rabbit Talisman]

Item

One of the 12 Mystic Talismans of the Demon Sorcerer of Fire Shendu. The Talismans are a powerful set of magical charms represented by the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. The Rabbit grants Super speed making you faster than the speed of sound. They were created when the Lo Pei, a Sacred Warrior of the Ling Dynasty, transformed the draconic demon into a statue.

[Speedster Modification]

The Talisman's maximum speed has been decreased, to better improve the durability of the owner. This modification also makes chi spells inefficient at removal.

Gyokuto looks excited and tries out her super speed, moving faster than the human eye can track. She also slips on some grass and smashes into a tree hard enough to shatter the bark. She is embarrassed but not harmed due to the modification.

Secondary powers are the abilities that allow the main powers to be fun instead of extremely gruesome. It allows the Hulk to lift absurdly large objects without sinking into the ground and allows Superman to catch planes instead of flying through them like bullets. Moving extremely fast is a great power, but if you don't have durability as a secondary power your liable to turn yourself into paste.

"I'll have to train that ability." says a blushing Gyokuto trying to act like she's not covered in leaves and sap. She opens her other gift and a box appears in her hand.

She opens the small black box and resting inside is a mysterious dark pill resting on the red lining. The marble-size dark opalescent pearl-like pill shimmers with a mesmerizing iridescence, its surface reflecting hues of deep purples, blues, and greens. As light dances upon its smooth exterior, faint wisps of silver seem to swirl within the depths of the pill, giving it an otherworldly and mystical appearance. There is also a flowery scent emanating from the pill, smelling of chrysanthemum and red spider lilies!

[Dú Lóng Nì Tiān Dān]

Item

毒龙逆天丹 - Poison Dragon Against Heaven Pill. A pill crafted from the five deadliest venoms of the Tian continent – the paralyzing iron fanged forest snake, the incinerating fire toad, the petrifying earth spider, the deadly wind scorpion, and the abyssal dragon-killing centipede – and combining it with the power of heaven and earth. It creates a pill that not only grants the user complete immunity to poison, but the user also gains healing and benign effects from consuming poison.

Creator:

Xiao Yan (10th Di Soul State)

"Holy Shit! Xiao Yan! It was made by Xiao Yan!" I'm yelling.

"Whose Xiao Yan!?" asks a lot of people.

I turn to Oda with a smile, "Do you remember Xianxia Battle Through the Heavens? The genius who became trash and then rose again with help a ghost master in a ring!? That pill was made by the protagonist when he was max level in Alchemy!"

"Special?"

"Special. You know about Heavenly Tribulation? That lightning that appears when Taoist Cultivators go against heavens will trying to achieve immortality. Pill Alchemists get something similar. That type of lightning at Tier 7! At tier 9? It generates the strongest lightning calamity that can appear in the Dou Qi Continent!" I say to Oda, "Do you know the Weird Scaling? The fact that Xianxia authors can't do math and they have no sense of scales? If that Pill was made in Japan, the lightning would incinerate ALL of the Islands."

That makes many of those native to this world pale. Even the ever-stoic Lord Sesshōmaru looks concerned, which for him is hysterics.

Gulp!

Everyone then stares as Gyokuto swallows the upper heaven tier pill.

They then watch as her body changes both physically and spiritually. Physically she becomes healthier looking as all fatigue and minor problems are consumed. She looks like she spent a small fortune at a private spa for the insanely rich. Her hair and skin look beautiful and her twin sister looks a little jealous despite her Buddhist teachings. Her spiritual aura visible to most of the group also changes. It grows far stronger and shifts into iridescent hues. Both Tian and Dou Qi Continents have far greater amount of spiritual energy filled with fragments of heaven and earth, so her aura is almost divine level as a result.

"Gyokuto are you alright. That was reckless."

"I feel fantastic."

That was a little crazy, but you don't survive being a demon slayer by being sane.

Hisui: 3 Gifts

Hisui's card imagery is identical to his sisters, but it has a simple green jade border decoration. Hisui is very nervous about his [Universal Gift] Cards. It's clear he's worried he'll get something either embarrassing or overwhelming. He says a quick Buddhist prayer for luck.

"Increase my luck, please! My luck has diminished, raise it up!"

Why do I have the feeling that in the Modern (21st century) Era, he would one of those salarymen that does a superstitious chant while waiting for lotto numbers?

He opens Gift one of three and in a burst of green light, a bracelet with a curved, comma-shaped bead made of refined Jade.

Magatama beads, also known as "jewels," were initially crafted from primitive stone and earthen materials during the Final Jōmon period (1000–300 BCE) but transitioned to being predominantly made of jade by the end of the Kofun period (6th century CE). Initially serving as decorative jewelry, magatama evolved to have ceremonial and religious significance by the conclusion of the Kofun period.

[Jade Magatama Bracelet]

Item

The Jade Magatama Bracelet is a potent magical artifact that bestows upon its wearer enhanced luck and serves as a protective charm against curses, particularly those associated with bad luck and misfortune. Crafted from exquisite jade, this bracelet emanates a subtle aura of positive energy, deflecting malevolent forces that seek to bring harm or ill-fortune to the wearer. Its intricate design symbolizes resilience and good fortune, making it a valuable talisman for those seeking to ward off negativity and attract prosperity into their lives.

"You prayed for good luck and got a good luck charm." says Izumi, with a smile.

Hisui opens Gift number two of three and this time the green light flows into him. Suddenly, his skin and hair are completely flawless, not single blemish, scar, or flaw. The skin and hair of the demon slayer is now supermodel beautiful.

[Jade Beauty]

Skill

The Jade Beauty Inherit Skill, originating from the Jade Phoenix Sect of the Tian Continent, is a rare ability that enhances the natural beauty of fairy-like cultivators. Those who possess this skill and maintain qualities of wisdom, compassion, and courage will exhibit exceptional physical beauty characterized by purity and elegance. One of the remarkable benefits of this skill is the preservation of flawless skin that remains unblemished and free from scarring. Additionally, individuals with this skill enjoy exceptional health, further enhancing their overall beauty and radiance.

The women are now starring at the very nervous Hisui with looks of extreme envy.

"So much for good luck." I comment.

Hisui needs a distraction and he's still holding a [Universal Gift] card. A card that when opened shatters into green lights and that shoot into Hisui's body. The skill doesn't cause any physical change, but Hisui does wobble and nearly faint indicating information overload.

"What the hell!? What the hell did I see?"

[Boomerang Proficiency]

Skill

Users possess great proficiency, capabilities and knowledge in boomerangs, thrown tools, typically constructed as flat airfoils and designed to spin about an axis perpendicular to the direction of their flight.

Users with great proficiency in boomerangs can achieve remarkable precision and accuracy when throwing them. They can hit multiple enemies without needing to aim directly at each one, making them highly effective in combat situations.

Skilled individuals can throw boomerangs to retrieve distant items or activate mechanisms that are out of reach. This ability can be particularly useful in scenarios where manual interaction is dangerous or impossible.

Mastery of boomerangs allows users to control the path of the tool after it has been thrown. This skill enables them to navigate obstacles, change direction mid-flight, or even return the boomerang back to their hand with precision.

"That would explain it," I comment to Oda, Boomerang users can be very weird.

"A vigilante dressed as a Bat throwing bat-themed boomerangs."

"Batman in Gotham"

"A native boy in blue fighting red-clad warriors who could manipulate fire and getting intoxicated on cactus juice."

"Sokka vs Fire Nation."

"A crazy idiot using boomerangs against a super-fast hero in red."

"Captain Boomerang fighting Flash"

"A blonde boy with pointed ears dressed in green fighting a lion centaur."

"Link vs Lynel"

"A small reptilian yōkai wearing it's mother's skull and using a bone as a weapon?"

"Cubone."

"Armored heroes slicing monsters apart with glowing boomerangs."

"I'm guessing – Ultraman."

"How do you know?"

"Remember that everyone's life is a story. I think another version of me is writing this one. I love having the answers, so I do have the answers."

"If you are writing it, what's going to happen?"

"Don't have a clue. Even when I'm writing, I don't have more than the bare framework." I say, probably being a little Meta.

(A/N: No Shit.)

Kohaku: 4 Gifts

Kohaku's cards have identical fronts to Sango, only a faint image of Kikyō is in the background. This makes sense as if it wasn't for the former Priestess of the Jewel of Four Souls, he wouldn't be alive at the moment. He was killed by Naraku and animated by the shard of the jewel, so for the longest time it was believed he would die again when the shard was removed. The card also has a pale amber outline which matches his name.

The Special Effect for Kohaku's [Universal Gift] card opening is also strange. The card shatters into a translucent amber-yellow liquid. It grows and grows until it takes the form of an item and becomes opaque. Then layer of amber then shatters into nothing to reveal the summoned item.

Gift number one is a Treasure Chest. Intricately crafted from lacquered Japanese wood, adorned with elegant gold leaf motifs depicting scenes of battles, samurais, and cherry blossoms. The chest is secured with a complex locking mechanism, symbolizing the secrecy and protection of its valuable contents, but the key is in the lock. Kohaku bends down and unlocks the chest, causing it to open. His eyes bulge at what's inside.

[Treasure Chest]

[Item]

A 15th chest filled with gold and silver items. The chest contains various valuable items such as coins, ingots, and decorative objects. This treasure is substantial enough to provide the Japanese family with wealth and luxury that can sustain them well into the 21st century. With this abundance of riches, the family can enjoy a life of opulence and financial security for generations to come.

It's the best gift for the person you don't know what to buy for – MONEY!

Kohaku opens Gift number two of four and this time the golden amber liquid flows into his body. The liquid is glowing brightly and sparkling, like bubbling liquor in a candle lit party.

[Archetype: Monster Slayer]

Skill

The user can kill a monster of any form or kind, being able to fight the monsters no matter how strong they may be. The user also gains resistance to their powers and traits, whatever they may be.

Greater chance at acquiring Monster Slayer archetype Gifts.

As a Yōkai taijiya, this Archetype suits him to a T, but he's probably wondering why his mother – currently the oldest living Yōkai taijiya – didn't receive this Archetype.

He opens his third and second to last gift. More glowing amber liquid flows into his body and this time he passes out.

"Kohaku!?"

Five minutes later, he wakes up and recovers enough to continue.

[Yōkaigaku Mastery]

Skill

The user possesses innate knowledge of Yōkaigaku, the study of yokai. They research the behavior, abilities, weaknesses, and anatomy of yokai to pursue the documentation and categorization.

As a Yōkai taijiya, he's studied various kinds of yōkai. Mostly on how to identify dangerous ones and how to kill them. The download to his brain was not a bare bones Hunter's guidebook about a couple hundred yōkai. It was para-zoological textbooks about tens of thousands of yōkai. He now knows more things about yōkai than he would ever want to know.

Kohaku opens his final gift while still sitting on the ground. For a third time, the card becomes an amber liquid that flows into his body. Those with spiritual senses notice a skin tight barrier forming around Kohaku, before it's also absorbed.

[Yōjutsu Negation]

Skill

Yōjutsu Negation is a unique ability that allows users to nullify the yōkai powers of others and any effects they may have. When activated, this skill can render yōkai unable to utilize their powers as long as they remain within the user's focus or area of influence. This means that the targeted yōkai will be temporarily stripped of their abilities and rendered powerless until the user's concentration is broken or the effect is lifted.

This ability can be a potent tool in combat situations, as it effectively neutralizes the threat posed by yōkai adversaries by depriving them of their supernatural abilities. By canceling out the yōkai powers, the user gains a significant advantage in battle, making it easier to subdue or defeat their opponents.

It is important for users of Yōjutsu Negation to maintain focus and concentration on their target to sustain the nullification effect. Any interruption or loss of concentration could potentially release the yōkai from the negation, allowing them to regain access to their powers.

"Wow! This sounds like a Good One."

"At least a Random Wizard won't kill you."

Kōga: 5 Gifts

Kōga's card imagery doesn't match the others. While the others clearly show family, his show generic wolf images. While it's true he's the leader of the wolf demon tribe, there is no indication in the imagery those wolves are anyone he knows. If Inuyasha's card was worth 8000 Yen (50 USD) and Miroku's was worth 4000 Yen (25 USD), Kōga wouldn't be worth 800 Yen (5 USD). The corners of the cards are decorated with steel fang images.

When he opens his first gift there is a small puff of smoke and a bag the size of small bag of flour appears in his hands

[Canine Food Bag]

Item

A magic bag that supplies the owner with enough food to comfortably feed a canine under their authority. If the owner has a pack of canines, then the bag will supply enough food for a pack.

Limit:

Will only supply enough to maintain health, n, which ot excess.

Magic food is bland.

There is some hidden laughter as Kōga just receive a magical bag of dog food, but at the same time this item could save the entire wolf pack during a famine.

Kōga opens Gift number two and the card dissolves into a sparkling cloud that flows into Kōga, which means it's the effect indicating a skill.

Oda whispers to me, "Why do you think Kōga's effects are so lame?"

I whisper back to him, "If the author is me, then it's because I don't like Kōga. The wolf was annoying when he flirting with Kagome and I was happy when he got his shards stolen as it removed him from relevancy. At least he isn't like Ryoga from Ranma ½ who was sabotaging the main relationship."

The Canine yōkai and hanyō can probably hear me, but I don't really care. I'm just whispering to be polite.

[Blessed Fur]

Skill

The Blessed Fur skill is a magical ability that instantly cleanses the hair and fur of its owner, removing any contaminants present. This unique gift not only ensures that the owner's fur remains pristine and free from dirt or impurities but also allows him or her to extend this cleansing ability to others through physical contact. By simply touching another individual, the user can share the purifying effects of his Blessed Fur skill, providing a convenient and efficient method for cleaning and maintaining the appearance of those around the user.

Limit:

The skill can only be used twice per day.

It's moderately useful. Keeping himself and his pack clean, meaning keeping everyone healthy. Keeping wounds clean so they can heal, keeping parasites away, and protecting their fur. This could also protect them from certain attacks as arthropod yōkai tend to using webbing or other adhesives that stick to their fur.

Kōga opens his third Gift and it's another skill.

[Guardian Run]

Skill

The user has taken/been given the responsibility to defend, protect and, if needed, avenge the focus of their protection. While protecting their focus they are granted enhanced agility and reflexes.

Limit:

If the user uses this skill with Focus, they will become Lost.

Guardian Focus:

Wolf Tribe.

"So, you get the same level of speed you possessed when you possessed Jewel shards in your legs, but only when you're protecting your tribe, wolf-cub?" asks Inuyasha.

"I guess that's what it means, mutt." says Kōga, "These gifts aren't too bad. I keep getting things to help my tribe."

Inuyasha and Kōga don't argue like they used to. They both got married, had children, and due to that stupid kirin daiyōkai Moroha was actually raised by the Wolf Tribe. These days it's like two brothers annoying each other.

The leader of the wolf yōkai opens his fourth gift and it's another skill. This one apparently comes with a ton of mental imagery because Kōga passes out completely. Kōga wakes up after five minutes with a slight headache and the screen displays his Gift.

[Job: Vet]

Skill

The user, either innately or through training, is a Master of Veterinary medical practices, the care of animal health. This is the ultimate veterinary mechanism, since the user will automatically heal animals with perfect skill, technique and timing. The users full and complete mastery in veterinary and anything related to veterinary makes the user the ultimate veterinarians.

"It makes you a doctor to your tribe, technically." Says Oda. The odd thing is animal-based yōkai can be medically treated like normal animals when in their animal forms. This is true for all animal-based yokai with the only difference is while a dog will bite you if your rough treating it, an inu daiyōkai's breathe could melt you.

Ayame is looking at her husband as he mumbles about a pink winged horse, a woman with a witch daughter who lives on a giant skeleton in a boiling ocean, endless versions of a woman in pink and white treating powerful animals that sleep in tiny balls, and a wild hunter dressed in the skins of big cats hunting a man dressed as a spider.

It takes me a solid five minutes to realize he's talking about Fluttershy (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic), Camila Loceda (The Owl House), Nurse Joy (Pokémon), and Sergei Kravinoff/Kraven the Hunter (Marvel Comics). I had forgotten Sergei knew vet medicine.

Kōga being stubborn gets back onto his feet and opens his last Gift. It turns out to be one final skill, but doesn't come with brain overloading memories.

[Beast Summoning: Wolf]

Skill

The Beast Summoning: Wolf skill allows users to summon wolves or wolf-like creatures from other realms or dimensions. These summoned beasts can be utilized for various purposes, such as aiding in combat by attacking enemies, providing protection to the user, or even granting additional powers to enhance the user's abilities. The summoned wolves may possess unique traits or abilities that make them formidable allies in battle, adding a strategic element to the user's fighting style. Through this skill, users can tap into the strength and capabilities of these summoned beasts to gain an advantage in different situations.

"This sounds amazing." says Kōga before yelling, "Beast Summoning!"

A glowing magic circle appears on the ground followed by a small explosion of smoke. There is then a yipping sound and Kōga is knocked to the ground by something small and fluffy. It turns out to be a canine resembling a pure white Samoyed puppy. A puppy that is very excited and happy to meet its new master and making the girls awe at its cuteness, even stoic Setsuna.

"You need to work on your summoning, wolfie." I say to Kōga as he holds the ultra-fluffy puppy. Kōga can't even say "Like you could do better" because I already showed him my Knight-Kahn during a previous Quest.

Ayame: 2 Gifts

Ayame's card imagery s identical to her husband's cards, only the edges are decorated with Iris flowers.

Ayame opens her gift card and there is a burst of smoke that spells of iris flowers. A book lands in her hands.

[The Art of Being a Wolf]

Item

The wolf is one of nature's most fascinating creatures, a ruthless hunter, endowed with great intelligence and a striking ability to adapt. This volume, filled with stunning photographs and accessible text, presents a unique look at the daily habits and mysterious behavior of one of the last great predators on Earth.

[Japanese Translation]

57.30 USD

Ayame is a little confused, but she likes art work and it's about wolves.

Ayame puts the book away so it doesn't get damaged and then opens her other gift. This time the flowery smoke spirals around her and into her body.

[Healing Touch]

Skill

The user of the Healing Touch possesses the ability to accelerate the natural healing and regeneration processes in both themselves and others through physical touch. This means that wounds, injuries, and illnesses can heal at a much faster rate than they would under normal circumstances.

Not only does the Healing Touch speed up healing, but it also enables patients to heal beyond their usual limits. This means that individuals receiving this touch can recover from injuries or illnesses more effectively than they would without this ability, potentially achieving a level of healing that surpasses what is typically possible.

One of the remarkable aspects of the Healing Touch is its ability to remove contaminants that could impede the healing process. This includes physical objects lodged in the body as well as curses or other negative influences that may be hindering recovery. By clearing these obstacles, the Healing Touch ensures a smoother and more thorough healing experience for those who receive it.

While the book was merely interesting, the Healing Touch is an S-Rank Skill. Healing skills are extremely valuable, especially during the Sengoku Jidai.

Shippō: 3 Gifts

Shippō's card imagery is loaded with kitsune imagery and seven treasures of his name - Gold symbolizes purity of mind, as it does not tarnish or corrode. Silver represents reflection and self-awareness. Lapis Lazuli symbolizes wisdom and the pursuit of knowledge. Crystal embodies the idea of transparency and truthfulness. Agate represents strength and protection. Coral symbolizes compassion and empathy. The Conch Shell signifies authority and power. The central image is Shippō standing with Inuyasha, Kagome Higurashi, Miroku, Sango, and Kirara.

There is also one character I didn't expect - Janis – the main character for the Nintendo DS game Secret of the Divine Jewel. As far as I know, those events didn't occur in this world. N2 would have noticed if an American exchange student and reincarnation of the daughter of the late god Datara appeared.

The back image of the cards contains Shippō standing with Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha, thankfully without any random video game character.

Shippō opens his first gift and a case of Abura-Age appears in his hands/paws. The deep-fried Tofu, Abura-Age, is a perfectly golden-brown, crispy on the outside yet soft and delicate on the inside tofu pouch. It emanates a tantalizing aroma of savory seasonings and expertly blended flavors. Each piece is meticulously crafted to achieve a uniform shape and texture, showcasing the chef's precision and skill.

He's about to open it for a snack, when I grab him.

"Hey! What are you doing!?"

"Look before you eat."

"It's from Toriko. It's from the same world as Miroku's sandwich. Please don't eat in front of us."

Shippō blushes at what he almost did.

He puts away the food, trying not to drool at the scent. He then opens his second gift.

This time a book appears. It's a beautifully crafted tome of the Heian period, bound in rich red silk adorned with intricate gold embroidery depicting foxes in various mystical poses. The cover is embellished with shimmering pearls and delicate silver filigree, symbolizing the wisdom and magic contained within its pages. When opened, the parchment is aged to a golden hue, each page meticulously inscribed with elegant calligraphy detailing the ancient spells and incantations passed down through generations of kitsune. The edges of the pages are tinged with a faint glow, hinting at the potent magic that lies dormant within this revered artifact.

[The Book of Fox Magic]

Item

A magic book of ten thousand spells of hundred kitsune. The spells arrange from elemental magic, mystic arts, illusions, onmyōdō, and spiritual magic. This book was gifted to a young kitsune on her journey to become a nine-tailed lord in the service of Lady Inari. When she had achieved her dream, she sent the book out into the void to find a new master.

Shippō gulps as he realizes he's holding what can be considered a religious text of his kind. What is in his paws could one day have him become a fox lord. He carefully puts the book away and opens his final [Universal Gift] card.

A scroll made of ancient parchment; its surface adorned with intricate golden runes that shimmer with ethereal energy. The edges of the scroll are lined with delicate silk tassels, each one representing a different fox spirit that can be summoned. When activated, the scroll emits a soft glow, and wisps of mystical mist swirl around it, creating an aura of otherworldly power.

[Kitsune Summoning Scroll]

Item

The Kitsune Summoning Scroll is a mystical artifact crafted by the great sage of the tian continent. It is one of the legendary beasts summoning scrolls designed to empower and protect its users. Those who inscribe their name on this scroll gain the ability to summon foxes from other worlds to assist and defend them in times of need. The scroll was created by the sage for his followers, imbued with powerful magic that connects them to these mystical creatures.

When the sage's dear friend – The Emperor – was killed, he sent all of his scrolls into the void rather than let them fall into the hands of the New Emperor. The scrolls were told to find someone worthy in their eyes.

"Oh My."
