Outside of the tunnels, Lopunny watched a Bisharp begin to float into the air. She looked at the crowd and around her and realized the threat. She immediately yelled at everyone,
"Get out of here, now! I'm a Senshi. Let me handle it." Someone flew over towards her, a flying type. It was Chatot. He flapped in front of her,
"What's going on, Madam?!"
"Mother…" Lopunny mumbled under her breath, not happy being called madam, "I need you to get out! We'll deal with it!" Chatot nodded and began flying into the air, ordering people to evacuate to the disaster, leading them to some shelter that Lopunny couldn't locate.
The sky in the area turned black. The sun appeared like an eclipse were occuring. Red winds spiraled around in the air as Bisharp's laughter began to echo throughout the village. The red winds shot into the stratosphere, so far that no one could see. Slowly, a tornado of red wind began to spiral down from the clouds. Lopunny could feel a looming sense of dread as the tornado touched down.
Her Mega Evolution fizzled out, much to her dismay. The ice type groaned but she had no choice. She had to fight and she knew it. Besides, the fight would be awesome! She jumped towards the summoning spot, ready to endure the fight and save the village, hopefully with all of her limbs intact.
Bouncing towards the tornado, Lopunny could hear a voice, dark and powerful, speaking through the air,
"Fear. The great unifier of all sentient life. Any being can be consumed by it, reducing them to mere animals, desperately lashing out to cling onto some infinitesimally small fragment of control in an uncontrollable world. Have you given into fear, or have you overcome it? I shall be the judge of that." The red spiral of wind then vanished and Lopunny's heart froze. There he was. The Lord of Nightmares. King of Fear. Darkrai.
Bisharp smirked at the god in front of him. The smoky body of Darkrai danced in the wind. His blue eyes staring into Bisharp's empty black ones. Bisharp remarked,
"About time! I was getting impatient." Darkrai flinched,
Excuse me?" he remarked sheepishly. Bisharp was quite naturally thrown off by the nightmare god's shift in attitude. Was that entrance just for show? That didn't matter to the dark type. Now was his chance. Darkrai quickly shifted back into his 'normal' tone.
"I have observed you and your group from afar and I have seen your intentions. Unfortunately for you, plunging all life into an eternal slumber is infeasible. I can certainly do it, but Lord Arceus would quickly undo it." he said. Bisharp then chuckled. His cackling voice echoing through the air, transforming into a wild laugh. Bisharp then tightened his grip on the Eclipse Orb and denied this belief,
"I never wanted to send this world to sleep. That's stupid. No, I want vengeance!"
Darkrai remained silent as Bisharp continued, "I want revenge. My family, my friends, my home abandoned me! They want a monster, I'll damn well give them one! Darkrai, Send them into an eternal hell-"
A foot slammed into Bisharp's face. The dark type was thrown back but maintained his grip on the Eclipse Gem. He flipped around and landed on his feet before staring down his opponent. Lopunny glared at him, still up for a fight. She gritted her teeth as the pain from her previous injuries began to magnify. Bisharp looked at her various cuts and spat at her. Lopunny lunged towards him, however, a sharp pain stabbed through her chest. She fell onto the floor and clutched herself, yelling in agony. Bisharp planted his foot on top of her head, shoving it into the mud. Lopunny fought to stand up but Bisharp was quick to slash her elbows to the bone.
"You know what," he said, looking back towards Darkrai, "I changed my mind. My first request: kill her." Darkrai flinched at the order,
"Y-Y-You're not serious, right?"
"Did I stutter? I have the gem so get to work." Bisharp then backed up, leaving Darkrai to his task. The nightmare god reluctantly flew over to the ice type. Lopunny tried to push herself to her feet, screaming against the pain but failing to have the strength to stand. Darkrai shakily raised his hand, cringing at what he was about to do. Lopunny remarked,
"You're not so bad after all, huh?" Darkrai shook his head,
"Thank you. I hope you can forgive me in heaven."
Infernape suddenly appeared and burst towards Bisharp, roaring in fury. Lopunny saw him and silently cheered. Now the fight could get started!
Bisharp effortlessly slashed through the fire type's face. A vertical slash through his face tore through. Lopunny screamed out in horror…
Except Infernape was still standing.
Bisharp stepped back in shock at what he was seeing. Infernape should be dead! With a sick smile, the flame Pokémon had a psychotic glare in his eye. His face crimson with burgundy bleeding onto his white fur.
"What'cha worried about, Ears?" he remarked with a hiss. Bisharp lunged at Infernape and threw a fist into his face. Upon impact, Infernape's face twisted to the opposite direction with a sickening crack. Bisharp recoiled as the fire type leaned forward, under Bisharp's arm, his upside down face glared into Bisharp's eyes with a smile,
"It's just lil' ol' me!"
Infernape kicked Bisharp away before morphing into a purple shape that followed Bisharp, changing and transforming into Gengar. With an uppercut, Gengar sent Bisharp upwards before jumping after him. The ghost type then phased through Bisharp, back flipped, and kicked him into the dirt.
Gengar landed next to Lopunny and reached into his body,
"Here." He then pulled out a red and yellow bottle. Lopunny tilted her head as she looked at the strange little device,
"What is that?"
"Top secret tech for instant healing. It has a name, but I just call it a potion." Lopunny raised an eyebrow,
"Where did you get this? The fuck have you been doing?"
"I'll explain later. This will hurt." Gengar said. He pressed the potion into Lopunny's and then pulled the trigger.
Lopunny winced in pain as a needle shot from the bottle into her arm. Gengar tightly held her arm until the needle returned to its home.
"What the hell?!" She yelled in shock. Gengar then snapped back,
"Hey! I didn't design this thing!" Lopunny's protests were quickly silenced as her wounds closed and healed over, even more so than with Gengar's pain split. She patted where her wounds used to be in amazement. Gengar then tilted his head towards Bisharp. The two turned to face where the steel type landed and saw him emerging from the debris. Before the two engaged him, Gengar asked,
"Look, I know that you were mad at me before for leaving but-"
"Don't worry. I can wait 'till after to tear you a new asshole." Lopunny remarked as she focused on Bisharp.
The rocks behind the two suddenly exploded. Gengar and Lopunny looked back and sighed with relief to see the rest of the group emerging from the smoke. Infernape sprinted towards Lopunny, tearing across the rubble as though it weren't there. He tightly embraced the rabbit, almost crying into her shoulder, shaking in fright.
"Thank Arceus, you're okay." He whimpered. Lopunny hugged him back. She cheekily told him,
"What did ya expect? I've been through worse."
Aggron, Ampharos and Tyrantrum were quick to join alongside the two. Gardevoir and Garchomp rushed out towards the village. Gengar cracked his knuckles as he stabbed a potion into himself, healing his wounds. The group then lined up together. They took a battle stance as they prepared to fight.
Bisharp shot from the rubble. He stared into the group in front of him with venom. Bisharp gripped tightly onto the Eclipse Gem before loudly proclaiming,
"Darkrai, heal me and grant me your power!" Darkrai meekly nodded as he rose into the air. Pure black energy manifested in his hands, a perfect sphere of fear and nightmares dancing in the air.
A fire ball burst towards the god. It zoomed through the air like an asteroid. Darkrai didn't react, or rather didn't choose to react. It exploded on him, surrounding him in a golden ball of fire. However, it had zero effect. The god then raised the dark sphere into the air and somehow, this action began to heal Bisharp.
Dark lighting then sparked off of the steel type. It crackled and burned. However, Bisharp noticed how…little he had changed. He snapped at Darkrai,
"What did you do?" With a rare iota of confidence, Darkrai straightened himself out, stared at Bisharp and said,
"I'm sorry but you didn't say how much power you wanted." Bisharp looked like he was going to commit sacrilege. He yelled at Darkrai,
"Give me-"
Lopunny and Infernape kicked him in his stomach. They silently thanked Darkrai for his cooperation. It was good to know that they had an ally, even if he was technically their opponent. Bisharp gasped but recovered quickly, grabbing the two by the legs and releasing a beam of dark energy, throwing them across the battlefield. Aggron jumped up and caught the two in his hands. Bisharp jumped towards them, his wrist blades turning into solid steel. However, this attack was in vain because a pillar of rock and dirt launched up towards him, forcing him to attack it.
The pillar was split in two, revealing that Tyrantrum was tunneling inside it. He chomped his teeth at Bisharp. Catching his jaws in his hands, Bisharp was barely able to save himself from being shredded by the dragon type's teeth. His eyes flashed and he stomped his foot into Tyrantrum's throat. Tyrantrum gagged and released him. Bisharp landed to see Gengar rushing towards him. The ghost type's hands became enveloped in knife-like blades made of ghostly energy. He slashed Bisharp, but Bisharp caught the attack.
Gengar laughed before he extended his claws. His claws pierced into Bisharp's chest. Bisharp hissed and retaliated, extending his wrist blades and slashing at the ghost. Gengar fell back onto one foot, almost at a perfect 180 degree, before gripping Bisharp's wrists and falling into the ground, slamming his face into the dirt. Gengar then threw a massive uppercut from below.
Bisharp twisted in the air as he gripped the Eclipse Gem. With venom in his voice, he told Darkrai,
"Give me your power of flight!" Darkrai, with no room for misinterpretation, had no choice but to oblige. Bisharp then stopped in midair. He flew above them all as his hands turned dark. Infernape shot up to Bisharp's level, igniting his fists. Bisharp shot a beam of darkness towards Infernape, a powerful mass of black energy barreling towards him, it would've been terrifying had Infernape not had a plan.
As soon as the beam fired, Infernape created a small ball of flame in his hands. Using it as a sled, he soared on top of the beam, sliding across it like it were made of ice. Bisharp responded by pulling the beam up. Infernape was slingshotted into the air and grabbed by the shin. Activating Melting Point, he burned Bisharp's hand. The dark types screamed in pain before being kicked in the face.
Ampharos ran forward and charged up some electricity. Bisharp shot a pulse of darkness into the air. The resulting force punched him down much faster than Ampharos expected. He landed, spun on the heel, and slashed Ampharos across the chest. Ampharos screamed in pain. Bisharp then slammed his foot into the electric type's side, throwing him into the floor. However, Ampharos refused to go out. He spun around and swiped his tail at Bisharp. The dark type gripped his tail, swung it over his shoulder and crashed him into the floor.
Bisharp then ordered towards Darkrai,
"I want them dead! Kill them!" Darkrai grimaced at the order. He outstretched his arms as a low droning sound consumed the area. Slim, pitch black legs revealed themselves, making contact with the land. Darkrai raised his hands as energy began to surround it. It behaved more like ink than fire or electricity. It dripped onto the ground and fizzled away immediately.
With the speed that only a god could handle, Darkrai threw a ebony ball of pure blackness at the group. Barely able to even register the attack, the group looked behind them as a titanic explosion simply decimated one of the mountains nearby. The entire group collectively froze for a moment. Not one could blame them. Aggron turned around to see Darkrai in front of him. A voice then echoed in his head,
"Act like you're blocking." Aggron obliged out of fright as Darkrai threw what appeared to be hundreds of punches in mere fractions of a second.
Aggron looked up to see that every single punch either missed or was just short of hitting him. He appeared to be completely enveloped by the black movement of the gods arms. He locked eyes with Darkrai, who stared back at him. Darkrai then telepathically told Aggron,
"He told me to kill you. He never said I had to do it quickly." Aggron sighed in relief as Darkrai lightly kicked him. With some godly magic, he pushed Aggron a significant distance without actually hurting him.
Aggron soared through the air, landing in the heart of the village. With a great thud, he landed. He skidded across the roads and grinded to a halt. Darkrai then flew in hot pursuit as Gardevoir and Garchomp returned from the evacuation.
Gardevoir's eyes followed Aggron once he landed. She started to fly towards him but then Aggron yelled at her,
"Don't worry about me! I can hold my own!" Gardevoir flew up yet her foot was grabbed by Lopunny. Naturally wanting answer, Gardevoir telepathically asked her,
"What are you doing?"
"Darkrai's helping!" Lopunny responded in her head. Gardevoir, knowing better than to question Lopunny's judgment, listened.
Lopunny yelled in pain as her back was slashed. Gardevoir saw Bisharp had made his move. She responded with a quick blast, pushing him back. Lopunny spun around as swiped at Bishop's side. The steel type blocked the attack but abruptly, he was pushed back by solidified air.
Lopunny's shin jammed into Bisharp's side like a baseball bat. He yelled in pain but sliced at her. Again, his attack was pushed back. The third time this song and dance repeated itself, Bisharp was prepared. Letting Gardevoir force push his hand away. He twirled on the spot, using the momentary bossy in momentum like an ice skater, and used it to strike Lopunny.
As Lopunny recoiled, Gardevoir attempted another attack. She unleashed a bright green blast that sent Bisharp flipping back. He caught himself with his hands. Pushing himself and kicking Gardevoir in the stomach, he then spun with the grace of a swan and swiped Gardevoir's feet from under her. He kicked her again, sending her across the battlefield, however, he would not let up. He flew after her as his hands became shrouded in darkness.
Gardevoir looked down to see the dark type rapidly approaching and gritted her teeth. She shot straight up into the air. She raised her hands above her head and a sphere of bright green light manifested itself above her head. Bisharp gave chase, firing blast after blast towards her, every single one of them were a cannon ball. Gardevoir narrowly avoided every attack thrown and threw both her hands down.
Bisharp dodged to the side of the resulting beam. It flew past Bisharp at incredible speeds. However, Gardevoir was prepared. She pulled on the beam, yelling in effort as the beam jolted back towards Bisharp. He responded with a quick blast to throw off her aim.
Infernape flew up and kicked the blast away. Bisharp gritted his teeth before slamming head first into the fire type. Gasping for his breath, Infernape was rendered incapacitated for a brief moment. A moment good enough for him. Bisharp grabbed him by the waist and pulled him down into the beam.
The two crashed into the beam. Gardevoir gasped in fright and stopped the attack. But it was too late. The damage was done. The two collided with the ground, an audible crack echoed through the air. Infernape screamed in pain as he landed, the awkward angle had broken his right arm. Bisharp pushed himself away from Infernape, enlarging his wrist blades and slashing at him.
Lopunny launched towards Infernape. She picked him up and jumped out of the way just in time. She landed on top of a house and set down Infernape. Patting his head, she worriedly told him,
"Stay here. I'll be back when I pull that fuckers spine from his ass!" Infernape reached for her but she had already jumped away. He could only watch the battle until Liligant came to him. However, he wanted back in.
He couldn't just sit around and watch. Half of the group would be dead if he didn't help all the way back against Pangoro. Then that prediction back in the capital rang out within his mind. The one about how he was doomed to die here. Even with confidence that everything would turn up peaches, he still worried that they would rot before the harvest. He shook his head to clear his mind.
Eight years. Eight years that damn prediction left him a barely functioning mess. He threw away every opportunity granted to him to return to normalcy because he was afraid that the prediction would happen again. He couldn't let this happen again, not if he can help. The odds were stacked against him, ready to fall over and crush him. Even if Xatu was right, even if there was no chance that Infernape could change the future, even if this whole fight was for nothing. He would not just sit here and watch like he had for eight years.
He would either leave this battlefield victorious or in a body bag.
(A/N): I can believe I forgot to include this, but I'll be taking a two week break to polish up the finale. See you on the 17th
