Where we left off, John, Anakin, May, Max, and Obi-Wan were making Dr. Vindi walk onto the Sheathipede-class transport shuttle as Anakin said, "That was close. If that virus had escaped, everyone on Naboo would be dead now." Obi-wan had his arms crossed and said, "Oh, well. Just another boring day saving the universe." That was when John said, "True, and with the Doctor here in custody and the vials all secured below, we are safe from the virus." Dr. Vindi looked at them and said, "Coming from the Jedi who was offering me to join him." Anakin looked at the Doctor and said, "I don't believe a word you say. Anyone who works with the Separatists is not to be trusted."
"And besides, why would I offer you credits to work for me?" John said, making Dr. Vindi angry. Anakin then said, "Let's get this sleemo back to Theed so we can help Padmé, Dawn Ahsoka clean up down there." John and Obi-wan Agreed. Back in the lab, a Bomb Squad clone picked up a bomb from the table with the plants on it. He then said, "Senator, you should see this. It's one of the Virus Bombs." he then showed Padmé and Dawn that the chamber that was holding the virus was missing. That was when Dawn said, "that Servant Droid must have taken it." That made Padmé say, "Sound the alarm." As the alarm was chirping away loudly, two clones were walking towards the bomb room as one said, "How could Droids have gotten a hold of the virus containers."
"I don't know, but I don't want to be around when they set it off." said the second clone as they walked by the servant droid as it held onto the virus capsule. It then followed the two clones into the bomb room as the first clone said, "We've already taken the virus containers out of these bombs." and the second clone said, "We'll just have to check them again." The servant droid then ran to a row of bombs. Back outside, they all heard the alarm as Vindi said, "The virus is liberated." He then began to laugh before he said, "You are doomed, young Jedi, along with the rest of the planet." John then realized what was going to happen, called Dawn and told her, "GET HAZMAT SUITS ON NOW!" Back in the bomb room, the servant droid slid the virus container he had into a bomb, the sound alerted the two clones.
"Hey you!" Said the first clone before the droid pushed the button, the clones ran to it as the second Clone shouted to the droid to get away from the bomb but it was too late. The bombs blew up and the Blue Shadow Virus began to spread through the complex. Everyone on the surface felt the explosion as Anakin asked, "What was that?!" John's face grew with dread and said, "The Virus is loose in the lab." The Alarms began blaring and Rex said to AHsoka and the clones around them, "Virus Leak… get to the safe room. Come on!" They all began running to the safe room. The virus spread fast as doors began to automatically shut as the clones and Ahsoka ran as fast as they could.
"There's the safe room!" shouted Rex, one clone said there was no chance as the doors began to close. Ahsoka then used the force to keep the doors from closing for the clones to get it before the virus got to them. Ahsoka told Rex, "Get inside captain!" Rex and the clones got in and Rex told Ahsoka, "Hurry!" she leapt in before the doors closed. Ahsoka panted before Anakin contacted her asking what was going on in the lab. Ahsoka told him, "The droids released the virus, but we managed to seal the lab."
"And Padmé?" Anakin asked her, to which Ahsoka told him that she hadn't heard from her since the bomb. That was when Dawn contacted John and said, "John, John can you hear me?" John replied, "Dawn, thank the force. Is Padmé with you?" Dawn told her husband, "Yes, and so is Jar Jar, who's panicking. The three of us were in a safety chamber when the alarm went off. We're all wearing protective suits." John sighed in relief before telling her, "The Virus got loose, but Ahsoka was able to seal off the entire Facility."
"That's good to hear, but any remaining Droids will try to break out," Dawn pointed out. Then Padmé said, "We'll do what we can to stop them, Master Bertrand. We cannot let that virus escape." John smiled as Anakin told them, "Be careful." Padmé then helped Jar Jar with his suit as they and the clones with them began to look for Ahsoka as they would need her help in finding the droids. Back in the shuttle, Anakin pulled out his lightsaber, igniting it, and held the tip to Dr. Vindi's neck and demanded the location of the antidote. All he did in response was laugh before he said, "You mistake my role, Jedi. My job was to manufacture a plague, not to cure it." John looked at the doctor and told him that they didn't have time for games.
"Patience you two. There's more than one way to skin a womprat." Obi-wan told them. John punched the wall beside Dr. Vindi and he said, "We asked Where?!" Vindi smiled and said, "Yes, kill me now and spare these old bones the Blue Shadow's dire embrace, because once the first droid breaks out of that laboratory, all Naboo is doomed!" Obi-wan looked at the two Jedi and said that the fastest way to save the others was to get Vindi back to the capital and find an actual antidote. Anakin put his lightsaber away before they took the shuttle back to Theed. John, May, and Max all looked at Vindi with hatred in their eyes.
"Are you all aware that he tried to buy my services?" Vindi told them around him, but Max leaned in and said, "We do, and your loss for not accepting it." back in the lab, alarms were still going off as one clone at a console slammed it and said, "No, no, no. Some of the Virus got in here. We didn't close the door fast enough." Rex put his hands on his sides before he said, "we may be dead men, but we could still stop those droids." Ahsoka told the clones not to worry, saying that Anakin would find a cure for the virus, saying they're not dead yet. That was when Padmé's voice came over the comms asking if anyone was out there and if they could hear her.
"Senator Amidala, we're trapped in the safe room at the end of complex "B."" Ahsoka said to her through the Comlink. That was when Dawn said, "We'll be right there… Are you contaminated?" After Dawn asked that, two Clones began coughing, making Ahsoka say, "I'm afraid so." as the clones continued to cough. At theed, John, May, Max, Anakin, and Obi-Wan landed the shutted in the Hanger as Typho stood with two Naboo guards. When the Jedi got Dr. Vindi to Captain Typho, Typho told the doctor, "Dr. Vindi, you'll pay for your treachery." he then told the two guards to take Dr. Vindi away, before Obi-Wan said, "Now we'll need to find an antidote." That was when Typho said that he thinks he found an answer for them.
Leading the Jedi to the holotable, Typho was asked by Anakin, "So you think you found a cure?" Typho looked at Anakin and said, "Possibly. A little-known extract made from Reeksa Root, a weed-like vine found only on Iego, the world of a thousand moons, deep in Separatist-controlled space." Anakin punched his fist into his hand and said, "Let's go." Typho tried to tell Anakin to move cautiously, but Anakin said, "There's no time for caution. My Padawan is trapped down there, so is John's wife and so is Padmé!" Obi-wan looked at him, making Anakin say, "I mean, Senator Amidala." Typho told Anakin, "I applaud your courage, General Skywalker, but it's suicide. Once we contain the virus, we can send troops."
"No, they might be dead by then, the Kirtman masters and I will handle it." John said before looking at the other Jedi Masters, "It will be our first mission by ourselves." Obi-Wan and Anakin looked at each other before Anakin said, "doesn't matter, I'm going with you, R2 as well." John sighed and said, "Fine." Later, they took Anakin's Corellian G9 Rigger-class light freighter, the Twilight, and plotted a course to Iego. Obi-wan, who also joined them, told Anakin and John, "Padmé, Dawn, and Ahsoka will be fine." Anakin simply replied, "They will be, if we succeed." He then powered up the hyperdrive and they jumped into Hyperspace to, to get to the root and save the people trapped in the lab.
Back in the Virus filled lab, two battle droids were walking down a hallway when the one in the back pointed out the obvious about all the doors being locked. The other then asked about how to get out before they got taken out with Droid poppers thrown by two 898th Clone troopers who were in the room with Padmé, Dawn, and Jar Jar. Padmé looked at Dawn and said, "I'm still surprised about how your husband is able to reprogram the battle droids Dawn." That made Dawn smile and said, "Back before we came here, he was just like he is now, a leader for soldiers. He knows how to do a lot of things, though there are moments where he wishes never happened."
"If I recall correctly madam Bertrand, back before your husband became a Jedi, he was a captain of a fleet in that time, right?" Dawn nodded her head and said, "Back before he came back to me, yes. He was leader of a small fleet that got reinforced with some ships being traitors to the government he was fighting under. Barely any of his ships managed to escape to safe space." Padmé was shocked and said, "He never talks about it?" Dawn shook her head as they walked and she said, "No, he rarely ever does. He made friends on the ships that were lost, no survivors except for those who got into escape pods and who retreated back to friendly space."
"Wow, and has hesa suffered from da memories madam dawn?" Jar Jar asked Dawn. To which she nodded her head and said, "Yes Jar Jar he has. During the time he was leader of our homeworld, he suffered something called night terrors. He even had a dark vision of the future further than our own." Jar Jar was shocked more and said, "Oh, dat sounds liken a bad then to have." Dawn again nodded her head and she said, "Yes, and he wishes he could do something to change it all. But there are some things you can't change. It's eating him up seeing how he has the ability to change the war, but can't due to how it might affect the future and our timeline. Why do you think he butts heads with some of the Jedi Council at times."
"Anakin has told me about that." Padmé told Dawn. That was when one of the clones, CT-5423, "Dartac" said to them, "Senators, Madam General. We've reached the location where the others are." Dartac then coughed as he was infected. In the safe room, the clones were coughing before Ahsoka contacted Padmé, asking where she was and Padmé told her, "We're right outside your safety room." Ahsoka asked her, "Can you get the door open?" Padmé looked at Jar Jar before giving him the ok to open the door. Jar Jar nodded and pressed the button, opening the door and their group walked into the now not safe room. Padmé put a hand on Ahsoka's shoulder and said that she was sorry. Ahsoka told her not to worry about them, and that they still had a job to do. Dartac and the other 898th Clone, CT-5424 "Ortev" handed Rex and the other clones droid Poppers.
"Are we really gonna use these to take down the droids?" Rex asked the two 898th Clones. Ortev coughed before saying, "General Bertrand's orders. He wants the droids as intact as possible. Besides, there aren't that many droids left. But they are trying to get out though. Closest entrance to here is the south entrance." That made Ahsoka say, "As long as we're able, we'll help you take down those droids before they breach the compound." Rex handed Padmé a blaster as Ahsoka spoke. Taking the blaster, Padmé told Ahsoka, "You'll take the north corridor, and we'll take the south.
walking down the south corridor, Padmé, Jar Jar, Dawn, Ortev, Dartac, and two other clones reached the corner as they heard the droids trying to cut their way out. Readying Droid Poppers. Dartac and Ortev threw them before the droids realized they were under attack and the droid Poppers took them down. One droid was able to take cover in the hole as other droids were backing up from the north corridor as Rex, Ahsoka, and the other clones arrived. Getting to the ladder, Rex and Padmé aimed up at the droid as Rex shouted, "Stop!" Then Padmé said, "Don't open that hatch!" The B1 battle droid laughed and told them too late before he fired a shot, which soon bounced around the shaft, striking him multiple times and making him fall. That was when Dawn said, "That was one stupid droid." She got agreements from the clones.
At Iego, the Jedi piloted the twilight through the moons as Obi-wan pointed to Iego. Anakin asked the group, "What do you make of this?" and John told them, "It's a graveyard of ships. From what I was told back in my original time, Iego was known to be haunted. But I never found out what." Anakin and Obi-Wan then piloted the Twilight into the main city. ANakin then rushed out and as he got onto the ramp, he saw battle droids marching to him and he said, "Not good." John joined him and Anakin was about to attack, but John stopped him.
"John, what are you doing?!" Anakin shouted before getting free and charging at the battle droids as they said, "Welcome to Iego." over and over again. John shouted, "Anakin stop!" but Anakin didn't listen as he cut down battle droids with his lightsaber. John groaned as May and Max followed Obi-wan out. John rubbed the bridge of his nose as they walked up to a now stopped Anakin after cutting down seventeen defenseless battle droids, making Obi-Wan say, "Very impressive. You just destroyed 17 defenseless battle droids without suffering a scratch." That was when an 18th one fell, making Anakin correct Obi-wan by saying, "eighteen actually." That was when a Battle droid with a smiling mouth with sharp teeth and eyebrows told the Jedi, "The Venerable Jaybo Hood requests an audience."
"Jaybo?" the jedi all asked. They then heard a voice say, "Hey. You guys have any idea how long it took me to repurpose those droids?" Then a kid walked out, making Anakin say, "You're Jaybo?" the kid crossed his arms as he held a Battle droid commander's head and said, "Well, do you?" Obi-Wan apologized for Anakin's rather rash behavior. Jaybo simply replied with, "Nine months, man. It took me nine months." John was speechless, making Max ask, "are you ok Master?" John shook his head and told Max and May, "It's like I'm seeing a combined Anakin Skywalker and Han Solo. They then watched Jaybo hop into a hammock he made with the legs of two vulture droids. The Jedi again all looked at each other before Jaybo clapped his hands.
"Oh, that's our cue." Said a Battle droid and tended to Jaybo. Then one that looked like he was turned into a Radio said, "Channel two." After turning a dial, laid-back music began playing. Then John was contacted by Ash as Obi-Wan and Anakin walked up to Jaybo and the droids that were standing still as ANakin asked him, "How'd a kid like you come by this many battle droids anyway?" Jaybo told him, "Simple. When the Separatists took off, they left all this junk behind. I got a whole warehouse full of 'em right over there." Obi-wan then said, "So you programmed them to serve you." Jaybo brought up a good point when he said, "No Reason to let a good droid rust, right?" Anakin looked at the droids and said, "Mm-hmm. Looks like you used a Macro Protocol to wipe them simultaneously. Impressive."
Jaybo sat up and said, "I see you know your droids. You're Jedi, aren't you? Want me to show you how I did it?" Max was about to speak when Obi-wan said, "Perhaps another time. What we need now, is Reeksa Root. Do you know where we can find some?" Jaybo told him that Reeksa Root was everywhere. That made Anakin say, "We don't have time for games, kid. Where's the root?" Obi-wan looked at Anakin as May said, "What my friend is trying to say is that we're in a bit of a hurry."
Jaybo chuckled before he told them, "Not anymore you're not." That was when John walked up to Anakin and said, "I need to borrow the twilight." Anakin looked at him and asked, "Why?" John then spoke loud enough for Jaybo to hear, and he said, "I want to see Drol's home." Jaybo sat up and said, "How do you know Drol?" John crossed his arms and said, "info Trade, you tell us where the root is, I tell you how I know Drol and how to end his curse." Anakin and Obi-Wan looked at John as Anakin said, "I just said we don't have time for games!" John looked at him and said, "I'm not. This planet is surrounded by a LaserWeb Defense Station, made by the Separatists. It stops anyone leaving the planet, right Jaybo?"
"Yup. Fifty of the best star pilots in the galaxy have tried, key word, tried." Jaybo said as he ate more of the fruit off the plate. Then John said, "Which explains the ruined ships in the moonbelt." Then Anakin said, "First things first, getting that root. Then the LaserWeb Defense Station." Back in the lab, two Droidekas were rolling along and into the group of clones and senators. The Droidekas deployed their shields and opened fire, making the group take cover. Ahsoka blocked shots and ran forward before jumping off the walls and landing on one Droideka. Lowering her lightsaber though the shield, she ignited it and pierced the droideka. Jar Jar wanted to help, but Padmé tried to stop him, causing her suit to be compromised.
"Senator!" Shouted Ahsoka before she ran to the group. Rex told Padmé about her suit being compromised before Ahsoka knelt and said, "I'm so sorry." Padmé took her helmet off and said, "Don't blame yourself. These things tend to happen in a war zone." Dawn said, "and if anything I should be the one apologizing, I should have kept you safe." Padmé looked at Dawn before she said, "It's fine. Let's get the rest of the droids." The group nodded and walked off after Dawn helped Jar Jar to his feet. Jar Jar saw Padmé's suit and said, "Padme, me'm so sorry about dat. Me didn't mean per yous suiten to besa compromised." Padmé patted Jar Jar on his back and said, "I know Jar Jar, you were just trying to help."
On Iego, Jaybo took Anakin and Obi-Wan to get the root while John, May, and Max took off in the Twilight. Entering the moonbelt, John told May and Max, "Keep an eye out for anything strange." That was when a vast amount of lasers shot out between the moons. John piloted the Twilight to dodge the lasers to head back to the Surface. Panting, Max looked at his master and said, "did that count as strange?" John looked at him and said, "Yes Max, that does count as strange." Landing back down, John led May and Max off the Twilight as Obi-wan and Anakin returned and walked onto the Twilight.
"Did you get the root?" John asked them. Anakin nodded his head and said, "Yeah we got it. What about your mission?" Max told them, "Master was right, it's a Separatist security system. Lasers bounced off multiple moons. It's impossible to navigate." That was when John asked Jaybo, "Can you set up a town meeting Jaybo?" Jaybo nodded his head and said, "I can do that." John nodded his head and Jaybo walked out before they got a message from Ahsoka and Padmé. Anakin told R2 to boost the signal. Ahsoka was weak but she told them they took care of all the Battle droids inside the compound, and Naboo was safe from further contamination.
"Promise me that no one will ever open this bunker." Padmé said to Anakin, who was getting upset. Padmé then said, "Good-bye, Anakin. I…" then the transmission ended. Walking out, Anakin said they could borrow a Power converter from Jaybo and reprogram it, Obi-wan told ANakin to slow down, making Anakin say, "Slow down? Slow down?! You saw them, Master. They're dying." That was when John said, "A great leap forward often requires first taking two steps back." that made Anakin reply with, "And sometimes all it requires is the will to jump." John grabbed Anakin's arm as he turned to walk away and John said, "You think I'm not worried about them too? My own wife is down there, who knows what state she's in. They, and the ability to leave this planet for the locals is the reason I asked Jaybo to set up a town meeting.
Later, the Jedi told the town's folk about the security system, but a Quarren stood up and said, "Nonsense. Those who went up were lucky to escape alive. Simple as that." then John stood up and said, "What simple is this, we have a way to defeat Drol but I need to know is if anyone inhabited Iego's moons before the Separatists arrived." That was when a door opened as the Quarren said, "The Angels, of course." making Obi-wan ask, "Angels?" The Jedi looked at the door and a woman wearing some clothes, had six wings, and a yellow glowing Aura. it was not an angel, but in fact she was a Diathim. She then told them, "We were a peaceful people before the Separatists drove us from our homes and stole our moon." John stood up and asked her, "Which moon was that?" She showed them the moon, Millius Prime.
"The primary node. It must be near Millius Prime." Anakin said as Max looked outside at the Vulture droids and got an idea. He turned to Jaybo and asked, "Jaybo, can you reactivate those Vulture Droids?" Jaybo nodded and said, "Sure. I can even fly them by remote control." Max smiled as Obi-Wan said, "we use them as decoys in the laser field to get to Millius Prime, good thinking Max." Max smiled as John said, "We can have R2 control them." Anakin then said, "Since we know what we're up against this time, we can use them to take out the laser Emitter." and Obi-wan said, "and cut a path straight to Millius Prime."
Back on Naboo, the situation was growing dire as Padmé used water from a vat to help treat a dying clone by patting the rag she had against his skin before she saw Rex covering a dead clone and she said, "What a Waste." That made Rex say, "With all do respect, Senator… sighs It's what these men were born to do." Padmé then stood up and said, "I hope their sacrifice brings us closer to peace." Dawn nods her head as Ahsoka coughed before she said in a weak voice, "It will, Padmé…" she coughed again before continuing, "You must believe that…." she then passed out, making Padmé shout, "Ahsoka!" and Rex caught her. Dawn could do nothing as she watched. But then she did the unthinkable, she took off her hazmat suit.
"Dawn!" Padmé shouted at seeing her take her suit off. Dawn looked at Padmé and said, "It didn't feel right, seeing you with yours on Padmé. If I have to, I will die for the republic." Padmé coughed and smiled before she said, "I see John picked a good wife." Dawn chuckled before she sat down and said, "The thing is though, John wasn't my first love. In fact he was my second." Jar Jar asked her, "If John wasn't yous first shu, who was it?" Dawn smiled and said, "It was a guy named Paul. He and I were happy. Until one day he did something I could never forgive him for and ended it that day. It was the day the Pokémon Resistance was born. It was what the Poké Republic was beforehand. That was before he was president of our home."
"John must have been an amazen leader to besa elected president." Jar Jar said in Admiration. Dawn nodded her head and said, "He sure was." Back in the Iego system. Obi-Wan, Anakin, John, May, and Max were all ready to lift off when Jaybo radioed them and said that he was ready. Anakin told Jaybo to activate the Vulture Droids and he did that. Then John said, "Now transfer control of the Vulture droids to R2." That was when R2 plugged into the astromech port and took control of the Vulture droids. Then the Twilight took off with four Vulture droids following. They soon entered the moonbelt, activating the lasers. Obi-Wan told R2 to intercept the lasers and to send the Vulture droids into the laser Generator.
As the Vulture droids were taken out, it allowed a clear path for the twilight to get a clear shot on Primary node. The chain reaction took down the entire system and from the ground it was a pretty light show. That was when Jaybo contacted them and asked if they were ok. Looking at each other as Jaybo asked, "Guys?" John pressed a button and said, "we're fine kid. Thanks for the Vulture droids you lent us. So you might wanna get yourself some new droids to boss around." Then Obi-Wan said, "but now you are all free to leave Iego whenever you choose." John, May, and Max all smiled as Anakin told R2 to set a course for Naboo before they jumped into hyperspace.
On the landing platform, Medical Droids administered the antidote to the survivors and John ran to Dawn while Anakin ran to Padmé. John got to Dawn and asked her, "did your suit get compromised?" Dawn, able to walk, shook her head and said, "It didn't feel right. So If they were to suffer, so would I." John smiled and hugged her as Anakin said to Padmé, "I just spoke to the Medical Droid. He expects you to make a full recovery." Padmé smiled and said, "I never lost faith in you. None of us did." John heard that and smiled before he let Dawn onto the gunship and walked to Ortev and Dartac. He thanked them for keeping his wife safe. Dartac nodded his head as Ortev said, "Just following your orders sir." John smiled and said, "I'll talk to command, you two earned what you wanted when I met you, ARC trooper Rank." Ortev and Dartac smiled and thanked their Jedi General.
Obi-wan helped Jar Jar get his hazmat helmet off as he said, "I heard you were quite brave fending off the battle droids, Jar Jar." Jar Jar looked at him and said, "Really?" Obi-wan helped Jar Jar to his feet as he said, "Senator Amidala suggests we offer you training to help hone your skills with a blaster." Jar Jar again said, "Really?" Obi-wan confirmed it and that made Jar Jar happy and he said, "Oh, boy. I'm a-gonna be trained." on the stretcher, Rex looked at Obi-wan and said, "I am not training him." before he was put onto the gunship. Meanwhile, Anakin was praising his Padawan as he said, "You did a fantastic job today, Snips."
"All thanks to your training, Master." Ahsoka told him. Anakin then said, "Yeah, you're right. I probably deserve most of the credit." that comment made Ahsoka roll her eyes before Anakin said, "But not all of it." AHsoka got the last word in by saying, "Good thing I know you don't mean everything you say." John chuckled at that comment before Anakin said, "Pilot, get these two out of here." and Ahsoka thanked her master before the doors whirled shut and the gunship took off. John, May, and Max smiled as they walked to Anakin and he said, "Thank you guys." John told him, "No worries. We're happy to help the republic."
"That's good, cause I just got word. The council wants you to lead the next mission." Obi-wan told them. John looked at him and asked, "what mission is that Obi-Wan." That was when Obi-wan showed them a hologram of a planet and said, "the Liberation of Ryloth." John, May, and Max all smiled, showing that this was a chance to show the council they could handle liberating planets. John then said, "We'll begin drawing up plans immediately. I assume you and Anakin will be joining us?" Obi-Wan told John, "That's the idea. I told Mace about all you did here for Naboo and for the people of Iego." John smiled more and thanked him for the chance.
