Training Camp (Night)
"Okay, we've filled our bellies and cleaned our dishes, so it's time for-" Pixie-Bob began.
"A totally awesome test of courage!" Ashido finished, excited.
"We're gonna ace this!" Sato said, pumped for whatever test was coming up.
"Not so fast." Aizawa said. "As much as it pains me to say this, you five won't be participating in this activity. The remedial class will be working with me instead." Using his scarf, Aizawa grabbed hold of his failing students and dragged them to the remedial classroom.
"Such a shame. I was hoping to crush them." Dominic said, dejected.
"You have some strange priorities, Xiao-Long." Uraraka said, a bit spooked by her classmate's behavior.
"Okay, so Class B will be our scarers." Pixie-Bob explained. "When they're in place, Class A will leave in pairs every three minutes. There are tags with your names on them at the far end of the route. Your objective is to locate them and bring them here."
"Revelry in the dark." Tokoyami said, eager to face this challenge.
"The scarers aren't allowed to make physical contact. You can only use your Quirks to frighten your classmates." Pixie-Bob said.
"The winners are the creative ones who can make Class A piss their pants." Tiger said, grinning.
"Did we need that visual?" Jiro asked, annoyed.
"Well, how else would you describe how terrifying something is?" Dominic asked. "There isn't exactly a scale for it."
"I get it." Iida said. "They're trying to stimulate our imaginations and help us figure out new ways to use our Quirks. I'd expect nothing less from UA."
"All right." Pixie-Bob said, holding out her hand. She was holding several slips of paper. "Everyone draw to see who your partner will be. The numbers correspond to your partner and the order you'll go in."
While Class B entered the forest, Class A drew the paper slips. Dominic was paired up with Jiro. "Looks like we're a team." the blonde said with a smile. Eventually, it was their turn to enter the forest.
The two of them ventured into the woods, unaware of what awaited them inside.
Spooky Forest (Night)
"Do you smell that?" Dominic asked as he and Jiro walked along the forest path.
"Yeah, I smell something too." Jiro said, wondering if this scent was because of Class B. "Do you think one of our classmates is doing this?"
"No, this is- Cover your mouth, now!" Dominic shouted, recognizing the smell. He raised his arm and brought it down in a grand motion, created a wave of heat that blew air in every direction. "It's mustard gas. Heavily toxic and NOT the work of Class B."
"Then who's doing this?" Jiro asked, getting into a fighting stance.
"Probably a villain. But I don't know how they managed to get all the way here." Dominic theorized. "I'll try and find the heat signatures of the one responsible." Looking around with his eye glowing red, he discovered something far worse than the gas' source. "Oh, that's bad." Dominic said, worried.
"What's bad?" Jiro asked, unable to see what the blonde was seeing.
"There's a forest fire." Dominic said, frightening the girl. "And it's not normal fire either. It's burning in a bright blue color, which is usually impossible in nature. This is definitely the work of a villain's Quirk."
"How can you tell from here?" Jiro wondered aloud.
"Remember, my Quirk gives me an innate connection to fire." the blonde reminded. "I can tell where fire is burning around me, as well as the unique qualities of the flame." The boy's eye returned to normal. "I'll try and locate the source and beat the villain there. As for the gas..." Dominic placed a hand on Jiro's shoulder. It was faint, but a golden light could be seen being transferred from him to his classmate. "I'm trusting that with you."
Channeling Aura into his legs, the boy ran headlong into the woods.
Filled with resolve, Jiro used her Quirk to try and tell where the Gas Villain was. After a few minutes, she found the source. A boy wearing a gas mask, producing a pink gas from his body that wafted through the forest. Based on how the gas was moving, she deduced that the boy could manipulate the gas.
"It's Kendo and Tetsutetsu!" Jiro shouted, watching as her classmates theying in vain to battle against the gas. Suddenly, a strange feeling surged through her body, filling her with energy. "Heartbeat Distortion!" She yelled, blasting forth a wave of sound. The waves engulfed the villain entirely and broke his gas mask. The second it fell from his face, the gas vanished.
"Jiro! Thank goodness you got here when you did." Kendo said, exhausted.
"What the heck is going on here?" Tetsutetsu asked.
"Villains. We're being attacked." Jiro explained. "Xiao-Long found a forest fire that was set by a Quirk. He's trying to find the one who set it so he can put it out."
"Everyone in Class A and Class B, in the name of the pro hero Eraserhead, you are granted permission to engage in combat." Mandalay broadcasted with her Quirk. "I repeat, you can fight these villains. We've identified one of the villains' targets. It's a student named Xiao-Long Dominic." Mandalay continued. "Xiao-Long, if you can hear me, avoid fighting at all costs."
'Yeah, he's not gonna do that.' everyone thought at the same time.
