Burning Forest (Night)
It was no secret to anyone that Dominic craved the thrill of battle. So, naturally, when he saw a man with burnt skin stitched onto his body, setting fire to the forest with ruthless blue flames, he attacked. What he didn't account for, however, was the man melting into a mud-like substance when he was hit with Scarlet Showstopper.
Confused, the boy had little to no time to think before he was shot in the back with a stream of blue fire. The impact sent him flying into a nearby tree. The boy shook it off, standing up. Looking down, he saw that the flame did a substantial amount of damage to him. 'This isn't good.' he thought to himself as he looked around for the villain who ignited the forest.
"So, you're the one we're after." a male voice said from above. Dominic looked up to see a masked man in an orange suit standing atop a tree. His mask invoked memories for Dominic, images of flying cubes and circus horns flashing in his head. "I must say, you are much shorter in person."
"Atonement Blast!" Dominic shouted, shooting a beam of crimson energy. However, when it got close to the masked man, he opened his palm and sucked the attack into his hand, transforming it into a small marble. "Well. That's not good." Dominic said. The villain dropped the marble onto the ground, where it promptly vanished and transformed into Atonement Blast again, engulfing the boy in his own flames.
When the flames were absorbed back into him, the blonde was once again struck with blue fire. While the boy screamed in pain, two figures came through the woods. The first was the patchwork man he saw earlier, and the other was a man wearing a skintight monochrome suit. "Wow, this guy's a chump! How resilient!" the suited man said.
"You." Dominic said, forcing himself back onto his feet. "It's because of you the forest is burning." With a beastlike growl, he ran towards his opponent, slashing at the patchwork villain with his sword.
With little effort, the man blocked the attack with a plume of blue fire, exploding around the blade and seeping into the blonde's skin.
"Argh!" Dominic cried out. Not wanting to waste any more time, he decided to pull out the big guns. "You know, I haven't used this in quite a while. It'll be fun to finally use it again!"
His Aura fractured the ground and blew down a few nearby trees as the boy's limbs bulked up and darkened, claws appearing on his hands and feet as they resembled something more reptilian. A patch of what looked like black scales spread across his face, affecting everything above his upper lip. His white sclera turned yellow, and his hair became wavier. A tail sprouted from his lower back, looking thick enough to be mistaken for a small tree. Finally, the scales that appeared on his body all began to crack, and magma was flowing between them. On top of all that, he doubled in height.
"What is this!? So cool!" the villain in the monochrome suit said, both scared and intrigued.
"This isn't his Quirk, right? We were never told about this!" the masked villain said, worried.
"Dragon-Dragon Fruit." Dominic said through razor-sharp teeth. "Ancient Type. Model: Tyrannosaurus Rex." A string of black flame sprouted from his shoulder, arcing over his head and connecting with his other shoulder. Black fire also broke through the scales on his tail, traveling down it and forming a black fireball at the tip. "Awakened form!"
"How troublesome." the patchwork villain said, annoyed. "Twice, Compress, find cover." The other two villains nodded before retreating. "Our benefactor told us to bring you in alive, but we've seen that you can handle a few burns." Blue fire ignited in his hands, spreading across the area.
"Dragon-Dragon Butcher!" Dominic yelled, raising his sword into the air. Covered in Aura, the weapon was swung downwards, and a gigantic Sword Beam fell upon the terrain. The villain attempted to cut it off again with his fire, only for the beam to cleave through the flames before striking him.
The villain, slumped against a burning tree, looked down at where the Sword Beam hit his torso. Blood was flowing from the wound, quickly clotting thanks to the immense heat. He looked at his opponent with a hateful glare. The flames he saw him use in the Sports Festival reminded him of why he was doing this in the first place.
He would not fail. His resolve would not be broken. His determination would not break.
"Dragon-Dragon..." Dominic shouted, holding his sword as if he was ready to hit a baseball. "VOID BAGUA!" In a blur of red light, he vanished and reappeared in front of the patchwork villain.
"ARGH!" The villain screamed as he raised both of his arms, unleashing a torrent of blue fire that clashed with the blade. Even with the power of an Awakened Devil Fruit drastically amplifying his strength, the villain's determination was far stronger. He broke through the attack like glass before his flames consumed Dominic.
The blonde screamed as his own flames conflicted with his adversary's. "You're not going to escape from me!" With his left eye burning, Dominic surrounded himself in crimson flames before running toward his target in blind rage. He attacked everything around him, not caring about the collateral damage.
'So, this is what he's like when he loses his temper.' the villain mused to himself, curious. He then covered the area in blue fire, transforming the battlefield into a smoldering arena.
Wailing in physical and mental agony, Dominic began to snarl like a wild beast. Several tendrils of flame emerged from his body, violently surging towards the villain responsible for his pain. The needle-shaped attacks stabbed through the man's leg and stomach, splattering blood onto the burning terrain. Manic laughter could be heard echoing through the forest as a pillar of flame shot into the sky, turning the night sky a deep red color.
"So, this is what UA is calling heroes now." the villain said to himself, crushing Dominic's flames with his own. "I guess nothing really changes, does it?" The man ran through Dominic's flames, diving out of the way of his blind attacks. When he got close enough, he pressed his hand to the boy's chest before unleashing another torrent of blue flame.
'This is crazy! I'm giving this fight my all, but he's overpowering me like it's nothing!' Dominic thought to himself, knowing he couldn't keep this up much longer. That's when it hit him. The cold truth of the matter. He transferred some of his Aura to Jiro earlier. He literally didn't have it in him to beat this villain, especially one as merciless as this.
Before he had the chance to cancel Royal Blessing, he fell unconscious and his body returned to normal. When he collapsed, the flames he cast vanished into thin air, leaving no trace behind. The sky also returned to its normal hue.
"Compress, now." the villain said, walking away from his defeated foe. The masked villain used his Quirk on the blonde, trapping him in a small marble. Their job was done.
By the time Midoriya and the others arrived, the villains were long gone. They got what they came for.
Dragon-Dragon Fruit Model: Tyrannosaurus Rex
An Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit that allows the user to transform into a T-Rex. It was consumed by Dominic during his adventures in Skylands. Because of his unique physiology, his Human-Beast and Beast forms have a volcanic structure instead of a traditionally reptilian one. While most Zoan Awakenings result in the user losing their sense of self, Dominic is among the few that kept their mind upon mastering the fruit's abilities.
