Nikki's pov
I can't stop thinking about what happened back there. Why were they fighting? They were fighting for me? I actually don't know. I fell asleep thinking about this.
The next day
I woke up sad. I know I have detention today for something I didn't do! When I checked my phone, I had an S.M.S from Brandon.
'Hey… I hope you aren't mad about what happened yesterday.'
'I am not mad, just sad. What happened between you and André and why do you hate him so much?'
'I will tell you at school.'
'Okwihebdbbw'
'?'
Brianna spilled her cereal on me! I accidentally sent Brandon a weird S.M.S.
I went upstairs to change, when I realised I was REALLY REALLY late for school. I put my books in my backpack and started running. I am running for my life! I am 20 minutes late, and I still have cereal and milk on my shirt. I look horrible, but at least I made it to school. Brandon came up to me, worried.
''What happened? Are you okay?"
''Yeah, I know I look horrible.''
''That's not what I meant. You look gorgeous as always! But what's with this message?''
Then he showed me that weird message I sent earlier by mistake.
''That message? Brianna spilled milk on me and I sent it by mistake.''
''Oh, ok.''
Then he went to his class. I forgot to ask him about the topic with André! But he was already gone. I guess I have to wait until lunch. I will eat lunch with Chloe and Zoey this time. I took my seat and waited for the teacher to come. I am not really in the mood.
''Hey, Nikki! Is something wrong?''
''I will tell you at lunch.'' I said in fear, watching Mackenzie.
She was at the door, looking directly at me with an evil smile on her face. She really is a snake! On the other hand, I am more concerned about the situation with the destroyed office. I didn't do that! My parents won't believe me.
''Hello, class. Let's start by checking if everyone is here.''
I was not really paying attention. I can't stop my thoughts. Suddenly, the teacher said something that was very similar to my name. Eh! Wait…. That was MY name!
''Why aren't you answering, Nikki? I was about to mark you absent.''
''Can you let me hear my thoughts for once?!''
The second I said that was the second I regretted it. I can't believe I yelled at the teacher like that!
''Go to the principal's office, now!''
''Ok, madam.''
I packed my things and looked at Zoey who didn't even know what was going on. What will I tell the principal now?! I think he is going to expel me soon if I keep throwing anger issues. I forgot to tell you that Mackenzie also told him I 'broke' in his office (WHICH I DIDN'T) because I have anger issues. She is the biggest liar in the world! Anyway, I exited the class sad and slow. The teacher was looking at me like I just slapped someone in her class. I don't like Maths so it's a win. Now I have to stay 3 hours in detention instead of 2… this is going to be a long day!
After detention
I got out of detention like I got out of prison after 20 years! I am so excited to get home. While I was walking, I bumped into Brandon!
''Oh, sorry, I didn't see you.''
''This is the second time we bump into each other!'' said Brandon, amused.
I felt really weird talking to Brandon after what happened. He literally fought André for nothing! Or...
''I waited for you to get out of detention so I could ask you something.''
''You stayed here for 3 whole hours?!''
''That's just a tiny little detail. So, I wanted to ask you…'' said Brandon, hesitant.
''Want to go grab a coffee with me?"
HE ASKED ME OUT ON A DATE! Maybe it wasn't a date… WHO AM I FOOLING? It clearly is!
''Y-yeah, sure!''
''Great! I know a cafeteria close to the school.''
''Nice. Let's go.''
We talked all the way to the cafeteria! It was so romantic! When we got there I couldn't breathe out of how excited I was!
''Do you like it here?''
''I love it!'' I said, a little too loud.
We got a table and we waited for the waiter to get our order.
''So… what do you think about André?''
''Did you bring me here to talk about your fight with André and to see on which side I am?!''
''It's not quite like that!''
''QUITE?! I thought this was a... never mind…''
''A what?''
''I said never mind!''
I took my backpack and left the cafeteria disappointed. I can't believe he's like that. I thought this was a date. While I walked angrily, I felt someone grab my hand.
''Please, don't leave! I started this on the wrong foot! This is actually a date like you thought…''
''Why do you think I thought that?"
''I know you so well. I know how you look when you're in love…''
OH, NO! HE KNOWS!
''W-what?''
''I took you out on a date even if I knew you were in love with André… That was selfish... I'm sorry.''
''YOU THINK I'M IN LOVE WITH ANDRÉ?!''
''You aren't..?''
''No, dummy! I am in love with YOU!''
''WHAT?!'' said Brandon in complete shock.
''I said that out loud? I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!''
''Nothing matters right now… only you...'' said Brandon.
He took my hands in his and kissed me. As we kissed, I heard someone say:
''I THOUGHT YOU WERE JUST FRIENDS!''
