To the Far East lies Zipangu, a land brimming with golden palaces and sparkling jewels. Kublai Khan, ruler of the Mongol Empire, sent a large army there, but the warriors of Zipangu used "miraculous stones" to put up a strong defense.
"The Travels of Marco Polo" Chapter 6, 174 - 175
April 1598. Tower of London, England, Shinto Universe…
Deep within the cells of the lowest prison in the Tower, Sunset was shoved into a cell by one of the guards, her arms bound in heavy chains.
"Sleep well, witch. It'll be the last one you'll have, before you're shuffled off to Hell." the guard cruelly mocked her. "Aye, even put ye in a cell with a friend. Misery loves company, eh?" he taunted as he slammed the cell door, locked it, and walked off to patrol the hall.
"I'm not a witch! I'm just a teenager from the Equestria Universe who was warped here by a crazy alchemist who's working with spirits to…okay, now that I'm saying it out loud, it does sound a bit crazy." Sunset said.
Sunset looked to the left wall of the room, seeing a man with white hair and blue eyes, clad in nothing but a pair of white boxers. Just then, a small light appeared next to the man, forming into a female merrow as she had red feathered wings on her head and a fish's tail.
"Death comes for you." the spirit said in an unknown language as the man raised his head, showing a familiar face.
"You…" Sunset recognized the man with blonde hair.
"You know me?" the man asked, Sunset only recognizing him from a previous adventure. William Adams, an Irish Pirate.
"Oh, no…sorry." Sunset said. "(He's not familiar with me, so I must be in his world before he got summoned to the Yomi Crisis.)" she thought.
"So…what cruel fate led you to be locked up with me?" William asked.
"I got wrongfully imprisoned. People here think I'm a witch because I appeared out of nowhere. No one believes I got summoned here by an alchemist." Sunset said. "What are you in for?" she asked, trying to make light of conversation.
"Got thrown in here because I found out Amrita was responsible for England's victory over Spain." William said.
"Amrita?" Sunset asked.
"Some call it a miraculous stone, the Philosopher's stone." William said. "The Queen of England remains locked in combat with Spain - the country where the sun never sets - for control of the entire world. Her forces weakening with every battle, the Queen and her circle turned to divination and alchemy, hiring pirates like me to find Amrita for them. With that power, they managed to defeat the invincible Spanish Armada. But now it seems they want to keep their methods a secret."
"So they locked you up to cover up the truth." Sunset concluded. "And now we're both gonna get put to death unless we do something."
"What do you suggest?" William asked.
"Well… I'm not a fan of being locked up. So what do you say? Wanna bust out of here?" Sunset asked, standing up and offering William a hand.
"...Death won't stop chasing me." Willam said.
"Really? It sounds like your friend doesn't want you to die." Sunset said, referring to the merrow, William's guardian spirit, Saoirse.
This got William's attention. "You can see her?"
"Let's just say I've got a connection with spirits." Sunset said.
William mulled it over before standing up. "Lets get going, then."
And so, Sunset and Willam began their escape together. The way out directly through their cell door was immediately a bad idea to both of them, but luckily there was a damaged wall in their cell. With a little effort, William busted it down, carrying him and Sunset into the next cell over, which conveniently had no door for them to keep them inside.
They slipped out of the cell door and evaded the patrolling guardsman, the same one who tossed Sunset inside William's cell. They ducked to the right into a separate room where William found a chest that contained some gear for him, such as a Bastard Sword and a full set guard uniform as well as one for Sunset too (after using the sword to cut the chain binding her, of course).
The two were soon dressed up as guards, pretending to patrol the tower. They soon made their way through the prison before ascending as they soon heard voices.
"There's only a limited amount of Amrita we can extract from this country and the captured Yo-kai, Kelly." a male voice said that perked Sunset's head up.
"Kelly?" Sunset said as she tried to listen in.
She and William looked through the barred window of a door and saw the alchemist himself inside.
"Indeed. The pirates have served their purpose." Kelley said.
"The death of the leader of Japan will spark a war, and a wonderful opportunity to acquire more Amrita." the new voice said.
"So that's it…this Amrita stuff is in Japan…I need to get out of here ASAP." Sunset said.
"Hey, who are you?" a guard called out.
"Uh oh…" she said as she and William took out the guard and ran.
"I take it you know that man we saw?" William said.
"You could say that. He's been nothing but trouble for my friends and he's holding some of them under his thumb. I don't know who he was talking to, but what I do know is that whatever he has planned for this Amrita stuff, it cannot be good." Sunset said.
"We must make our escape then. With haste." William said, knowing Sunset has a point.
The two explored the Tower of London, looking for a way out. They found many useful items along the way, such as stones to distract guardsmen, medicine for treating wounds, and more weapons such as spears and axes.
They hurried up the tower until they reached the highest point of the tower, the sky covered in dark clouds and pouring rain.
"Leavin' so soon, mates?" a voice said as Derrick jumped down from the roof above the entrance.
"Wait…you!" Sunset said, recognizing him. "The guy from the mall."
"I ain't lettin' you escape with your life this time." Derrick stated. "You neither, pirate. Both of ye die tonight."
"No…you'll be doing the dying." William said as he quickly went and slashed the guy in the stomach before cutting him down with ease.
"Huh…that was easy…so…why am I feeling this was too easy?" Sunset said.
Footsteps were heard as the two saw Kelley approaching as he lowered his hood, revealing an alchemic circle on the side of his head. "Ah the Man with the Guardian Spirit…oh…and it seems he's joined by the girl with the watch."
"Kelly…why did you bring me here?" Sunset demanded. "You wouldn't have set up that teleportation trap on me unless there was something you wanted from me."
"Once again, you misunderstand." Kelly replied. "There is nothing that I want from you. It is who your presence here will bring that I desire."
"I get it now. You're trying to use me as bait to lure out Enma." Sunset said.
"But of course. He has heard that a friend of all Yo-kai has been captured by his father's old enemy." Kelly said. "I wager he'll be here in a few short minutes. But before that…I suppose I'll have to dispose of those who could warn him."
"If I die, the secret of the stones die with me." William warned.
"Let me show you what these stones can do. Behold." Kelly said, pulling out a glowing yellow stone before crushing it, as it lengthened and turned red as he then stabbed Derrick in the back as he cried out in pain. His body repairing itself as he grew monstrous as horns grew from his head and spikes from his back.
"No way…you…you turned him into one of those monster Yo-kai." Sunset said.
"One of many." Kelly grinned maliciously as he stepped back. "It's time for your execution!" he declared as Derrick rose to his feet, towering over the two escapees.
"To the…choppin' block…with ye…" Derrick snarled in an inhumane voice.
The Executioner - Derrick

"Is this how he turned all of the Yo-kai? No…now isn't the time for that…we gotta get rid of this guy." Sunset said.
Derrick charged the two, before he swung his axe in a circular motion, forcing the two to dodge to each side.
"So much for being some expert sorcerer." Sunset said. "It must've rendered him unable to do the Cursed Energy stuff."
"Save the nonsense talk 'til after we kill him, lass!" William urged as he rolled out of the way of another axe swing.
"William, focus your strength!" Saoirse advised.
Heeding his spirit's words, William turned to Sunset "Buy me some time!" he called.
"With what?" Sunset said as she was dodging the executioner's strikes. "Damn, the Enma Sword is back in my room. I don't have any weapons." she said as she ran as the guy kept trying to kill her. As he was prepared to deal a lethal blow, a flurry of flames engulfed the executioner, reducing him to ash. "Wow…you didn't tell me you could do magic." Sunset said.
"Wasn't me lass." William said.
"Ah….so he finally shows his face." Kelly said as they all looked to the stairwell where there stood Enma.
"Enma…you need to leave. This guy…" Sunset said.
"Brought you here as bait to lure me here for some insane plan, right?" Enma said.
"Ah…you knew." Kelly replied.
"I've known all about your little posse's plans for a while now and what you've been doing with the Yo-kai." Enma said as he walked towards Kelly.
"And yet you've done nothing till now. Why?" Kelly asked.
"Hard to say. Guess I'm just a mystery. So…since you went to all this trouble. How about…I save you some?" Enma said as he placed a sealing talisman on himself.
"What?! Enma, what're you…?!" Sunset gasped.
Kelly could only laugh at what the Lord of the Yokai was doing. "The King of the Yo-kai, willingly surrendering himself? What play do you have in mind, I wonder?"
"Eh…the play is…this whole mess you caused…" Enma said pointing right at Sunset. "I'm leaving all to her to settle."
"What?! You can't be serious! You could easily…" Sunset said.
"You said you wanted to befriend everyone again, right? So…I wanna see you make those words come true." Enma said as he stood next to Kelly. "Show this tattoo artist and his little posse…the real bond between Humans and Yo-kai."
With that, Enma was wrapped in chains as Kelly kept him close.
"To think it would be this easy…even with these chains, I can sense the immense power." Kelly said. "Even so, as long as he makes himself a willing prisoner…then the Yo-kai Alliance will do their best to be gracious hosts." the alchemist smirked.
"Now!" Saoirse called, William having been battling the transformed Derrick during this. The guardian spirit then emerged from the man and entered his weapon, as Derrick raised his axe up for a killing blow.
William's strike was faster however, as he slashed through the monstrous executioner's chest, causing Derrick to collapse.
"Ooh, well done. Quite a feat!" Kelly slow clapped as William turned to face him.
"I'm not sure what kind of game you're playin', but it ends now!" the pirate stated as he charged forward.
"Wait, no!" Sunset warned, but it was too late. Kelly summoned one of his alchemic serpents and launched it at William, who blocked it with his sword. After a short clash, Saoirse was ripped from William's weapon as the man himself was thrown back, the snake dragging the spirit away and sealed it inside a crystal.
"So this spirit will guide me to the kingdom of gold…" Kelly realized. "With Amrita and the power of Enma himself…our goal is now within reach!" he declared as he called on the crystal's power, causing him and Enma to vanish in a flash of light and red feathers.
"No!" William yelled, only for a bullet to hit the battlement as the tower guards were coming up.
"Not good…" Sunset said running to the edge only to see open sea. "Well…better this than nothing." she said as she went and jumped into the ocean. William was close behind her, only to get shot in the back, causing him to fall in, landing next to Sunset.
Eyes wide, Sunset grabbed William and swam up to the surface, only to see the soldiers aiming their weapons down at them. "Oh great…"
"Take aim!" the lead soldier ordered his men, before a large figure landed behind them. "What in blazes-?!"
The soldiers were knocked over the battlement and into the ocean, before a familiar face peeked down at Sunset and William. "No time for a swim, kiddo, we got work to do!"
"Trevor?" Sunset realized, before she heard a rumble behind her, turning around to see the Galaxy King, Twilight standing in the doorway.
"Sunset, hurry!" Twilight said, her friends dragging William to the door and taking her hand, the two getting pulled up as the Galaxy King raised up into the air.
Trevor turned around to see more soldiers, staring up at the Galaxy King in awe and terror. "God save the Queen, fellas." he tipped his hat as he leaped over the castle wall and onto the ship, the King speeding away into the night.
"Okay…now hold still…" Chopper said as he was already treating Sunset and William in the sick bay.
"So you're sayin' that Enma gave himself up? Willingly?!" Rainbow asked.
"He was right there! Why didn't you tell him to, I don't know, beat Kelly to a pulp?!" Emo demanded.
"I…I tried." Sunset said. "Enma said that he was leaving it all on me. I don't understand…is this some plan of his? Or is he gonna try and wipe them out at once? I…I just don't know what he was thinking."
"You can never tell what those Special-Grades are thinking." Trevor remarked. "So, this Enma guy's a king right? Can't imagine the place he rules is gonna take his capture well."
"Which is why no one will know of it." a voice said as they saw a pale looking man in black robes.
"Zazel!" Sunset said.
"As of right now, no news of his capture has spread. Neither was the news of your capture." Zazel said. "I saw to it personally, per his request."
"So the Yo-kai Realm won't burst into flames just yet. Some good news at least." Mark said.
"What good is hiding the truth if we can't rescue Enma?" Eddy pointed out. "Kelly and the Yo-kai Alliance could be anywhere by now!"
"Except they're not. They're going to Japan to go for this Amrita stuff." Sunset said.
"Amrita? What the heck is that?" Leonora asked.
"It's a powerful stone. Miracle Stone, Philosopher's stone, whatever you wanna call it." Entrapta said. "It's highly valuable and can do all sorts of things."
"Like turning people and Yo-kai into monsters." Sunset said. "I saw it. He turned that executioner guy into one. That's how he corrupted Tenguriginal and the others. He uses alchemy to imbue the stones with some kind of dark energy and then…"
"Instant Cursed Spirit." Trevor finished the sentence, rubbing his forehead. "Damn, this is getting all kinds of ridiculous. This Kelly guy needs to go down."
"I'll find him." William spoke up. "He took Saoirse. I'm goin' to get her back."
"By yourself? Are you sure that's wise?" Toriel asked.
"I know where he is. I can go to Japan via sea." Willam said.
"And we can get you a ship for free that can get you there in hours. Do the math, buddy." Emo pointed out.
"Let's not be hasty." Trevor said. "Shimmer, what did Enma say to you before he let himself be caught?"
"He said to…to show them the real bond between humans and Yo-kai.' Sunset said.
"Really? Well, if your little performance at the tower told me anything…it's that you ain't showing nobody anything as you are now." he said bluntly, before he sighed. "I was hoping to avoid this, or at least foster it onto Gojo, but…no choice now: I'm gonna have to teach you how to be a Jujuitsu sorcerer."
"Wait, really? You'd do that? Why?" Sunset asked.
"Call it an uncle's soft spot for the younger generation." Trevor waved off. "I'm no good teacher though; all I can show you are the basics, and that'll take at least two years."
"Well with how time differs between worlds, sounds like a plan." Sunset said.
"You'll need all of our training if you are to rescue Lord Enma and the remaining Yo-kai." Zazel said.
"Our?" Trevor asked.
"I will not leave the future of the Yo-kai Realm in the hands of some drunkard who frequents bars day and night. Plus, as Lord Enma's attendant…it is my duty to see that he is rescued as soon as possible." Zazel said.
"...Alright, whatever floats your boat." Trevor shrugged.
"Hey, William. You said you wanted to get to Japan by sea, right?" Hope asked.
"Yeah, not in some weird flyin' machine." William said. "I bet I can charter a fleet-"
"No need." Mermista said. "We got you covered."
The group led william to the hangar bay and revealed to him their #1 Method of traversing the high seas… the Thousand Sunny.
"So…how long does a voyage to Japan normally take?" Mermista asked.
"2 years." William said.
"Funny. That's the same timeframe Trevor said it'll take to teach sunset." Hope said before realizing. "He…could ride the fleet in time with the training…"
"And I wish you Hope Squad guys would stop offering up the Sunny to every stranger we pick up." Franky said.
"Uh…sorry." Mermista said.
"Now…this ship…this could work." William said looking at the Grand Terry.
"Yes! A win for the Spirit Force!" Shiki said.
Sunset prepped herself as Trevor and Zazel stood before her.
"I should warn you, I'm not known for going soft, even on beginners." Zazel said.
"I don't expect you to be." Sunset said. "I'm willing to become a Sorcerer if it means saving Enma."
"Heh. You got spirit. Wish Gojo'd be the one to train you first instead of me, man's the top." Trevor said. "Still, if I'm the best you've got…then I'll give it a shot."
"So…how can I utilize this stuff?" Sunset asked. "So I just shoot it out or…"
"No…first…you'll be mastering these." Zazel said, showing Sunset eight different weapons: three wooden swords, spear, axe, kusarigama, longbow, touchpaper musket, and a hand cannon. "Eight tribes of Yo-kai, eight weapons. Each usable with the Yo-kai Watch."
"Enma's boy here thinks your Cursed Technique has something to do with your bonds with the Yo-kai, and I'm inclined to agree with him." Trevor explained. "But before we can see what it does, you actually gotta learn how to fight with the weapons. Technique's no good if you can't use what it gives you."
"...Let's get started." Sunset smiled.
Thus, the training to rescue Enma and defeat the Yo-kai Alliance once and for all began.
