"Are you sure about this" Percy whispered to Jared as they swiftly walked through the dark hallways.
Jared and Percy debated heatedly on what the plan should be. Where they should go, how they should get there, when they should pick up the girls to tag along. Every single crossroad, and decision caused conflict. Jared said nothing and just put his finger to his lips as he pressed his back against the wall and slowly turned the corner. Despite that though, they were able to congregate on a clear, cut plan, to maximizing the efficiency of the mission. Get in and get out. It was night time and they were on their way to pick up Charlotte and Ava. The plan was simple. Collect the girls, Infiltrate the cafeteria and the faculty room. Find it, retrieve it, and make the escape. Then, enjoy the spoils of your war. That was Jared's favorite part. Percy had no idea how Jared managed to get rope Charlotte and Ava into it, or why they agreed, but he proved himself as one of the best-best friends in the galaxy.
"This way." Jared ordered. Percy nodded and trailed behind him. Jared turned the corner and pulled Percy into the Female dorms. The pair stealthily walked to the third door, and Jared softly knocked.Looking both ways before he hit the oak door lightly. After a couple agonizing seconds, the door swung open, and Ava and Charlotte stood in the doorway. Ava had her hair out of her ponytail and flung lazily across her shoulders. She also had an annoyed look on her face while Charlotte looked giddy in her T-shirt and shorts. Jared grinned and Percy gave a small wave. Attempting his best to not look like an idiot.
"Alright. Let's get this over with." Ava said. She let out a bored sigh before walking past the 2 boys and down the girls dorm hallway in the direction of the staircase. The group followed
"What's the plan?" Charlotte asked whispering excitedly.
"There are 2 areas that potentially have our items" Percy whispered as they approached the stairwell.
"The cafeteria, and the teacher's Faculty room." He added, climbing up the first flight of stairs.
"Originally, we thought it was in the cafeteria, cause-duh-that's where all the food is." Jared started.
"But I heard, that in the teachers dorms, they have their own lounge, or cafe or something like that where all their goodies are stored." Percy finished rubbing his hands together.
"That's cool and all." Ava started.
"But I have 2 questions."
"Ask away." Jared said beaming.
"Have you idiots even thought about how we're gonna get into the dorms? Or the actual ROOM." Ava said. She turned to Percy
"Oh and, are you sure confiscated items are stored up there? You know, like could thisget your book back? More importantly could this get MY things back too?" She asked. Jared pulled at his collar.
"Uh yeah I think so." He murmured.
"You think?" Ava sneered
"What if the door is locked??" She asked. Jared grinned. He whipped out a small Bobby pin and waved in infront of Ava's face.
"I've been learning how to pick locks." He said, puffing out his chest. Ava groaned.
"We're so gonna get caught"
"Hey hey hey! He more positive." Charlotte hissed.
"Percy and Jared worked hard to plan this. I'm sure they've thought through everything thoroughly." Charlotte then turned to Percy.
"You HAVE thought this through...right?" She prompted, staring at them expectingly. Percy broke into a goofy smile and crossed his arms
"Yeah, I'll always be here to protect you."
"What?" Jared muttered. He jabbed Percy in the ribs
"You know that's not what she meant right?" He whispered. Percy's face dropped
"Hey! It looks like we're here." Ava chirped up. Cutting Percy off before he could some how make things work
"Chop chop, let's get this over with." She said
The four pushed open the double doors and slid into the Teachers section. The crisp air nipped at the groups neck as they shuffled in.
"You sure there's no guards on night watch up here?" Charlotte whispered.
"No, they usually stick near the entrance. To-you know- prevent actual threats to the school." Jared muttered. They stood, blankly staring at the teachers section. It was similar to the other levels in the building. It had the same yellow tile floors, the same freshly painted blue walls, and the tight, faint-but everso present- smell of wet cement. The only difference was the slightly uncomfortable chill that ran through the halls.
"Why did I think they had some sort of...palace up here?" Charlotte whispered. A small frown on her face.
"Yeah." Ava muttered.
"They're living just like us. I feel kind of bad."
Jared flung his arm around her shoulder.
"Don't lose sight!!" He hissed in her ear. "We didn't come all this way for nothing!"
Ava squirmed her way out of his arm lock.
"Come on!" Jared beckoned he pulled out the map, and pointed down the hallway on their left.
"You'll get your spoils of war, just down that hallway." He said sweetly. Ava shoved him off. Percy glanced at his watch.
3:39
He didn't have much time. Percy turned to the rest of the 3
"Let's go, we don't have much margin for error." He warned.
The four descended down the halls nervously. Sure this top hallway was similar to the rest of the school, but it was dark, creepy, chilly. The only light source they got, was from the big bright moon that faintly illuminated the hallways the four were shuffling through. They could barely see a couple of feet infront of them. Someone-or- something could be right In front of them, and they wouldn't know untill they practically ran headfirst into it. Thankfully, they found their room relatively easily. It was the only one down the left hallway, and even though the door was pretty deep down it, their only concern was getting there. With Jared's lock picking skills, they were somehow able to slip in, and start the fun part .
The room was constructed sort of like a break room. Large cafe-like tables were evenly distributed throughout the room, while the kitchen area was in the back. A sink, microwave, fridge and a bunch of cabinets rested there. Jared sprinted to it and instantly began to hungrily search for any remnant of food. This was like a gold mine for him. Percy lagged behind he slowly made his way along the room. Slowly observing every artifact inside it. Until, something caught his eye. Adjacent to the the kitchen set-up, pressed against the wall, was boxes. About 7metal ones. Percy strolled up to them.
"Wow..." he muttered
"Hey Ava...you might want to see what I found here."
Each locked metal box were aligned perfectly next to each other, and explicitly labeled with each teachers named. Ava slapped Percy on the back.
"You really hit the jackpot here huh?" She murmured, a smile dancing on her lips.
Next to them,
Jared dug around another cabinet, cursing when he found books.
"I know that they have it somewhere." He muttered. Charlotte grunted and dug in the fridge to unfortunately, find nothing., Jared was so eager that he managed to clear every cabinet in that short time period. He found nothing of substance.
"It's a bussst." He groaned clutching his head in despair. He had found nothing but school supplies in every cabinet. And last time he checked, he hadn't just risked expulsion to try and study up on calculus. Jared eyed the trash can
"I wonder if there's anything edible in there.." He muttered. Ava thankfully gripped his shoulder and steered him away
"Houdini, I need you to do us a favor."
She pointed to the row of neatly aligned boxes. Jared leaned in
"Is there food in there?" He whispered. Ava took a step back, and slugged him in the arm.
"OWW!!" Jared cried
"Try again." She said
"It's me and Percy's property that the teachers robbed us of" She drawled.
Jared nodded gingerly and made his way to the boxes, popping them open. Right on the top, there it sat. Percy's Leather incased book. He flipped it open, briefly skimming through the pages. Everything was fine on the inside. He closed the book, and examined the cover. Back where it belongs.
"Wait...that weird." Percy murmered. He frowned. The gem. From his book. It was missing. A rattling knocked him out of his thoughts. It was Charlotte. She smiled sweetly and pointed to the cage.
"I found something!" she said. Jared, Percy, and Ava dashed to the fence. Their mouths dropped open. Behind the fence lay a delightful collection of snacks: bags of colorful candy, jars of crunchy pretzels, an assortment of cookies, and boxes of chocolate-covered treats, all piled high and gleaming in the sunlight. It was as if someone had set up an impromptu feast, just waiting to be discovered.
Jared grinned and turned around to his friends. He held up the Bobby pin and said
"I think we just hit the jackpot"
Line Break
The group of 4 casually resided in Jared's and Percy's room eating the horded snacks and hanging out.
"Why is that book important to you?" Ava asked
"Nerd" She added. Percy gave her a look.
"Didn't you go with us for a switchblade?" Percy said.
"Wait, why do you have a switchblade?" Percy asked. Ava waved he hand.
"It's from my dad. He'd be super pissed if l I lossed it."
Jared Chuckled and bit into a donut. "Kind of like Percy and his book." He added. Percy stuck his chin up.
"The difference is mine is enriching." He retorted, crossing his arms.
"Nerd." Ava muttered.
Charlotte sighed and flopped down onto
the carpet floor.
"Im sooo tired" She groaned yawning.
"Yeah I don't want to go back out" Ava said stretching.
"You could sleep with us" Jared said and instantly received a kick from Percy.
He checked his watch.

He should probably get some shut eye.
"Yeah I wouldn't mind that." Charlotte yawned.
"It's probably too risky to go out anyway."
Percy looked at Jared, who winked.
What a weirdo.
Charlotte slid across the dorm floor and grabbed a pretzel bite.
"Tonight was fun." She said, smile on her face.
"It was great hanging out with you two." She said, pointing at Percy and Jared.
"Ava always says such great th-" she was instantly was cut off from a noise from the door. It was a loud WHAM. The group jumped back.
"What is going on." Ava whispered. All the attention was directly averted to the door. Another hard thud rattled around the room. As if a swat team was constantly ramming a batering ram to it. The group of 4 stood. Huddled together. Too stunned to speak. The force thudded against the door a third time. This time though, they were successful. The dorm door burst open. A tall figure stood over them, Silence hung over the air. Jared scooted back
"Ohh farts." He whispered. The Principal and Mr. Willis stood in the doorway, peering down at them.
They were skrewed
Ah fuck
Yo
