Chapter 5: Reunited
Earth Wars Trilogy
At some point during one of the final battles of the Godzilla Civil War…
Long ago, back when Earth was in a much more radioactive state than it is now, there existed the dominant group of organisms known as the Titans, and the most powerful of these Titans was the species known as Titanus Gojira. During this time, there took place a civil war between the Gojira species, a war that divided not only the species, but every Titan species on the planet. On one side of this civil war, were the Gojira species led by Zo-Zla-Halawa, a Gojira specimen who had been granted unimaginable power by gaining the power of the blood of Unicron. However, leading the other side of the war was Godzilla, a great Gojira specimen who had been blessed with the power of the Primes by Prima himself.
At this point, the Civil War had reached one of its final battles, and by now, most of the Gojira species had been wiped out on both sides. For Zo-Zla-Halawa, the only Gojira species that remained were himself, along with two of his main confidants, and as for Godzilla, including himself, there were only two remaining, which were him and his most trusted friend and ally, Dagon.
During this battle between the Gojira, Godzilla was attacked by Zo-Zla-Halawa's two henchmen, but this posed no challenge for him, given that, since these Gojira were not given great power by Unicron or the Primes, they could not channel their atomic power in firing streams of atomic breath like Godzilla and Zo-Zla-Halawa. Upon being attacked by the first henchman Gojira, both he and Godzilla collided into each other, but Godzilla was able to get the upper hand by biting him on the side of his throat!
"Skreeeeeeeooooonk!", the henchman Gojira let out a painful roar.
Before Godzilla could kill this Gojira, however, he was forcefully pushed to the side by the other henchman Gojira, sending him stumbling back a good bit and forcing him to let go of the other Gojira's throat.
"Skreeeeeeeeoooooonk!", both of the henchmen Gojira roared at Godzilla.
"Skreeeeeeeeooooooonk!", Godzilla roared back at them.
With that, the two Gojira charged at Godzilla, but Godzilla already had a plan in mind to deal with them. Noticing that the Gojira he already injured was closer to him than the other one was, once this one was close enough, Godzilla immediately slammed him to the ground by whacking him down with his tail! He was then slammed into by the second Gojira, but Godzilla proved to be stronger by forcing this Gojira back and pushing him into a large, rocky formation behind him! Now with this Gojira downed, the injured Gojira with a bloody throat came rushing at Godzilla, but Godzilla was able to grab the downed member of his species by his tail and toss him right into the one that was charging at him, causing both of them to collapse to the ground.
Before either of the evil Gojira could get back up, Godzilla easily finished them off by annihilating them with just one shot from his atomic breath, creating massive, gaping holes and injuries in the now deceased Gojiras.
"Skreeeeeeeeooooonk!", Godzilla roared in victory with Zo-Zla-Halawa's henchmen deceased.
Immediately after that, however, Zo-Zla-Halawa, using his ability of flight, came rushing onto the battlefield, in which he slammed himself into Godzilla so hard, that it caused him to be sent flying back and crash landing into several rocky formations behind him.
"Skreeeeeeeeaaaaaaak!", Zo-Zla-Halawa roared as a challenge to Godzilla.
"Skreeeeeeoooonk!", Godzilla roared back as he stood back up on his feet.
In that moment, both Godzilla and Zo-Zla-Halawa charged up their atomic breaths, leading to an epic clash between their beams, in which Godzilla's atomic breath collided with Zo-Zla-Halawa's dark atomic breath, with both of the Gojira trying to gain the advantage over the other. Unfortunately, Zo-Zla-Halawa's beam proved to be stronger, resulting in an even more damaged Godzilla being sent back even further and downed to his side once again. Given that Godzilla was much younger at this time, the damage inflicted on him was more severe than it was when he later fought him in Rio de Janeiro billions of years later, causing this younger Godzilla to fall unconscious.
As the smoke cleared, Zo-Zla-Halawa now stood in front of Godzilla, charging up his dark atomic breath again, with the intention of finishing him off. Before he could fire, however, Godzilla's old friend, Dagon, came rushing onto the scene, where he slammed himself into Zo-Zla-Halawa, causing the dislodged Zo-Zla-Halawa to fire his dark atomic breath into the air and miss Godzilla.
Having gained the drop on him, Dagon continued his assault on Zo-Zla-Halawa, where he did all he could in slashing the Great Eternal Enemy in his face, but Zo-Zla-Halawa was far too powerful for him, as he was able to grab Dagon's wrist with his claw and twist his arm too far, causing the bone in the arm to break and for the appendage to become useless. With a sadistic smile on his face, Zo-Zla-Halawa continued his malicious aggression towards Dagon, constantly biting and slashing at his hide, eventually causing him to bleed out as he fell to the ground.
With the bloodied and scarred Dagon on the ground, Zo-Zla-Halawa stood over him, still bearing a malicious smile on his face.
"Skreeeeeeeoooooonk!", Dagon roared in defiance to Zo-Zla-Halawa.
In response, all Zo-Zla-Halawa did was chuckle before kneeling himself down and biting into Dagon's throat, where he began sinking his teeth in deeper and deeper as Dagon's throat was beginning to bleed out.
"Skreeeeeeeeooooonk…", Dagon tried to roar in pain, but he kept losing more and more of his voice as his throat was getting torn into.
Once Dagon stopped struggling and closed his eyes in defeat, Zo-Zla-Halawa pulled as hard as he could on his throat, tearing out an entire chunk of the deceased Gojira's throat as a trophy of victory.
"Skreeeeeeeeeeeeaaaark!", the victorious Zo-Zla-Halawa roared as the chunk of Dagon's throat fell to the ground.
After looking at the downed Godzilla, Zo-Zla-Halawa smirked and chuckled maliciously before expanding his wings and flying away, with the reason as to why he did not kill Godzilla now was because he wanted him to live with and suffer through the death of his closest friend.
Some time later, Godzilla was able to regain consciousness and get back on his feet, and as soon as he did, he noticed that Dagon was lying on his side, in front of him. Upon rushing over in hopes that his friend was alright, Godzilla looked down at the deceased Dagon to examine his condition, and when he saw that he was no longer moving or breathing, along with a chunk of his throat being torn out, Godzilla knew that his oldest friend had just perished because of Zo-Zla-Halawa.
"SKREEEEEEEEEOOOOOOONK!", Godzilla roared into the sky as loud as he could as tears were streaming out of his eyes. He vowed now, that one day, Zo-Zla-Halawa would pay for what he had done, not just to Dagon, but to every proud member of the Gojira species that stood beside him.
Present day…
Billions of years later, Godzilla had now avenged Dagon's death by killing Zo-Zla-Halawa, but now, the King of the Monsters was now burdened with another vengeance, due to the humans having been responsible for the death of his only son, Godzilla Junior, in 1954. Because of the irreparable emotional damage humankind did to Godzilla, Godzilla had now made it his mission to punish the humans for their sins and arrogance by laying waste to their cities. As of now, Godzilla was present in the city of Shanghai, China, where he was easily able to trample through the city, destroying buildings and crushing a countless amount of people in his wake.
"Skreeeeeeeeeeoooooooonk!", Godzilla roared out in anger to the humans as they all tried desperately to run away from his as they screamed in terror.
In opposition to Godzilla, he was attacked by the Chinese air force, where a squadron of military jets flew around him as they barraged him with their missiles. Just as always, no matter how hard the military tried, Godzilla was just too powerful for them, as he was easily able to absorb all of their attacks and dispatch of all the fighter jets just by swatting at them with his claws or with his tail, all while continuing to let out his rage-fueled roars while doing so.
As Godzilla laid waste to Shanghai, General William Fowler flew the Xanthium close by, as the ship needed to go in that direction in order to reach Infant Island. While flying by, Fowler could not help but take a moment to look on in horror as Godzilla left a trail of destruction in his wake, hoping with every fiber of his being that, whatever Optimus Prime and Bumblebee were after, it would cause Godzilla to finally cease in his merciless destruction.
As for Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, since they were both parked in their vehicle modes in the storage unit of the Xanthium, they had no way of seeing Godzilla outside of the ship. However, they knew he was close by due to the sounds of his constant roaring and seemingly countless buildings collapsing to the ground.
While listening to the senseless destruction, Bumblebee could not help but give out some nervous bleeping and blooping to Optimus, indicating that he was extremely worried about what was going to happen with Godzilla constantly attacking the humans, and that he did not want either him or the humans to have to die.
"I agree, my friend, but remember, as of now, our only hope of finding a peaceful solution to this conflict with Godzilla is through Mothra. As of this moment, all we can do is hope for the best, and I must believe that she will be able to convince our ally to learn forgiveness…", Optimus Prime replied, trying to calm Bumblebee's nerves.
Soon enough, General Fowler was able to pilot the Xanthium to where it was able to reach the wall of dark, stormy clouds that surrounded Infant Island, where he and the rest of the humans in the ship could not help but feel intimidated as they saw the several strokes of lightning occurring within them, along with the clashing sound of thunder at the same time.
"Remember boys, this baby was designed to survive and pull through under the worst of weather conditions", Fowler informed the rest of his unit via a microphone connected to a set of headphones. "I say, we show this tornado just what Uncle Sam can do…", he declared just before the Xanthium flew straight into the massive tornado.
As soon as the ship flew through, the Xanthium was immediately under a tense amount of pressure due to just how much the wind from the tornado kept causing it to veer in the wrong direction, causing Fowler and his men to have to constantly reorient it to the direction it was supposed to be flying in. This was only the beginning of their problems, however, as Fowler also had to react quick enough to steer the ship out of the way in order to avoid any lightning that was about to hit it, and with steering such a large ship so fast in such a windy environment, that served as another cause for the Xanthium to constantly shift into an unintended direction. Needless to say, Fowler was now trying with everything he had to keep the Xanthium intact and on course, and as for Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, the two Autobots were powerless in the situation, as all they could do was just remain parked in their vehicle modes in hopes that Fowler would be able to get them through the storm safely.
Despite all the trials and tribulations they had to go through with the tornado they were ingulfed in, General William Fowler was able to pilot the Xanthium out of the storm and into its eye, which, as Ratchet stated before, was the only safe spot within a tornado, evident in this situation by the fact that the sky was now completely clear and blue, no longer with any strong winds or lightning for our heroes to worry about.
"Whew…", Fowler sighed with relief as they had finally made it through. "General Fowler to Optimus Prime. We made it…", he smiled as he contacted the Autobot leader.
"Many thanks, General Fowler. I knew you could do it", Optimus Prime replied over the com link.
"My pleasure, Prime. So, what's the plan?", Fowler asked.
"Once you and your human allies locate Infant Island, pilot the Xanthium over top of it. Once you do, Bumblebee and I will board off the ship, and use the parachutes your people implemented in descending to the ground", Optimus Prime said.
"Sounds like a plan, but how do we know when we've found Infant Island? I mean, if there are other islands here, searching for the thing's gonna be like looking for a needle in a haystack", Fowler couldn't help but mention.
"Thankfully, given what Ratchet was able to locate with his technology, Infant Island should be the only island present within the eye of this tornado", Optimus Prime replied.
"Well, that makes things a lot easier", Fowler said with relief. "We'll let you know once we've found it, Prime. Over and out".
"Over and out, and thank you, my friend", Optimus Prime said before each of them hung up from the com link.
Eventually, Fowler and his squadron piloting the Xanthium were able to find the elusive Infant Island, where one of his men noticed a small island appear in front of him as the ship flew over the water below them.
"Sir…", one of Fowler's soldiers pointed out as he noticed the island.
"That's gotta be it. Good work, private, now let's do this", Fowler said with confidence after observing what his subordinate found. "Fowler to Optimus Prime. We've located Infant Island. Prepare for departure", he said over his com link to the Autobot leader.
Once the Xanthium was now directly on top of Infant Island, the ship's large, rear door opened, rotating down and turning itself into a ramp and revealing Bumblebee still parked inside of it with Optimus Prime behind him. With the door now opened, Bumblebee immediately drove himself out of the ship, now descending in free fall to the ground in his vehicle mode, followed by Optimus Prime doing the exact same.
"Bumblebee, transform…!", Optimus Prime shouted out before he and Bumblebee both transformed into their robot modes. "And parachute!", he declared as Bumblebee activated his two parachutes and Optimus Prime activating his three, as he was much larger and heavier than Bumblebee was. Interestingly, each of the parachutes had a logo of the Autobot insignia on them, serving as a reference to the Autobots' alliance with the United States government.
Once the two Autobots were close enough to the ground, both of them made short work of taking the parachutes off their backs, in which Bumblebee simply tore off the strings and Optimus Prime used his interchangeable blade to slice them off. Optimus Prime and Bumblebee were both able to land on their feet, finally setting foot on the luscious, green grass of Infant Island, as soon as they landed, they took in all the serene scenery around them, consisting of a variety of green trees and beautiful, blue ponds.
"Optimus Prime to Ratchet. We have officially set foot on Infant Island!", Optimus Prime said to Ratchet in his com link in a proud manner.
"Thank the AllSpark…", Ratchet replied over the com link. "I should be able to access your coordinates now".
"Good. Would you be able to open a Ground Bridge in the sky to bridge Fowler and his men back to the mainland?", Optimus asked his medic.
"Already on it, Optimus…", Ratchet answered with confidence.
With this, a Ground Bridge opened in the sky, right in front of the Xanthium that General Fowler was still piloting.
"Need any help from us before we head out, Prime?", Fowler asked the Autobot leader over the com link.
"Negative, General Fowler, you've done more than enough already. This is our mission now, and as such, I will not risk endangering any human lives any further from here", Optimus Prime replied.
"Roger that, Prime. Oh, and hey, make sure big yellow stays out of trouble for me, will ya?", Fowler joked as he piloted the Xanthium towards the Ground Bridge.
"I will do the best that I can, but no promises", Optimus joked back just as the Xanthium entered the Ground Bridge, followed by the Ground Bridge closing and the com link was hung up from.
Immediately after Optimus Prime hung up from the com link, Bumblebee gave out some rather surprised bleeping to him as he pointed in a direction to his left.
As Optimus Prime looked over, even he was shocked to see the sight of a group of three Allosaurus all walking together through a swarm of large, green bushes, most likely going on the hunt for some food for the day.
"Indeed, Bumblebee…", Optimus Prime reacted. "While I am surprised to see that there are indeed dinosaur survivors after the event which was said to have rendered them extinct long ago, this island has been known to have existed in a great state of seclusion under Prima's occupation of it, meaning that, for whatever reason, this island may have been unaffected by the asteroid that made contact with this planet all those years ago", he explained to his scout.
Bumblebee then gave out some more bleeping and blooping, telling Optimus Prime that that made enough sense, given the situation, and also questioning him as to where they could find the Titan known as Mothra.
"According to what Alpha Trion entailed from Prima's venture here, it was said that Prima's holy sanctum, which also acted as Mothra's resting place, is located in the center of this island. The sooner we arrive there, the sooner we can discover whether Mothra is still active, which I must believe that she is", he said as he began leading Bumblebee further into Infant Island.
With this, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee began making their way through the island, taking in all of the scenery around them as they went through, the most notable being the different species of dinosaurs they came across while traveling, hoping to not provoke them. Due to them being about the same size as most of them, as well as being made out of metal, Optimus and Bumblebee would most likely be able to defeat any of the dinosaurs in combat, but they did not want it to come to that, as they did not want to upset the balance of nature by disturbing them with their presence.
Meanwhile, in Mothra's resting place located in the island's center, Elita One and the Maximals were still present within the cave as they all (especially Elita) watched in awe as Mothra was still cooing in her chrysalis, seeming as if she was getting closer and closer to hatching.
"Beautiful, is it not?", Optimus Primal said to Elita One.
"Yeah, although, with him being on Earth and everything, I do wish Optimus could be here to see it. Well…my Optimus. No offense", Elita One said as she realized who she was talking to.
"None taken", Primal smiled. "Given that I was named after him, I studied a great deal of Optimus Prime's past, and one thing I recall was that you and he were very close, Elita".
"Yeah…and I know he would give anything to see me again, but…", Elita One began. "He thinks that I'm dead…", she said, prompting a series of gasps from the Maximals.
"Forgive my intrusion, Elita, but why would Optimus Prime believe you are deceased?", Airazor could not help but ask.
"Well…it happened during the battle of Crystal City…", Elita One began her narration.
Que flashback with imagery, narrated by Elita One.
"It was a great battle between the Autobots and Decepticons, and the Decepticons had us outnumbered and outmatched, but we were not going to give up that easily…"
"Practically every remaining Autobot and Decepticon were in that battle, and Optimus Prime and Megatron were battling it out…to the last blood…"
"Optimus fought hard, but Megatron kept gaining the upper hand, and eventually, he had Optimus Prime at his mercy with his Fusion Cannon pointed right at him…"
"In that moment, I knew I had a choice, and I was not going to let Cybertron's last hope die that easily…"
"In a split second, as my life flashed before my optics, I took the shot from Megatron's Fusion Cannon…and then everything went black…"
"I thought in that moment, that I would perish, but I survived…and when I came to, I realized that Optimus and Megatron had already led the Autobots and Decepticons off Cybertron…but I was saved by my friends, the Dinobots…"
"They weren't always known for respecting authority, but they recognized me as Optimus Prime's most trusted ally and friend, so they took it upon themselves to accept me as their leader in the Autobot forces still on Cybertron…"
End of flashback with imagery.
"And then, one thing led to another, we found Dinobot, found a Space Bridge, and him and I ended up here…", Elita One finished her story.
"So, you were friends with the Dinobots, not to be confused with our friend, Dinobot…?", Cheetor asked.
"Really, kid? That's your big takeaway from all this?!", Dinobot shouted at the young Maximal.
"Elita, this much, I vow to you, no matter the cost, we will find a way to get you off this island, unite the Maximals with the Autobots, and in doing so, we will see to it that you and Optimus Prime are united once again…", Optimus Primal said to her with a strong earnest in his voice.
"Thank you, Primal…", Elita One smiled, softly. "I just hope that…he won't have moved on from me by now…"
"You would be surprised how long one can hold onto the memory of the one they love, Elita One…", Airazor added, hoping to comfort her.
Much to Optimus Primal's surprise, his scientist, Rhinox, came rushing over to him, and before Primal could even ask what was the matter, Rhinox came to him with some urgent news.
"Primal, I hate to interrupt the moment here, but I have just detected an energy signature, similar to the one that brought Elita One and Dinobot here, appearing just at the edge of this island!", Rhinox said to his leader.
"Could it be Decepticons…?", Optimus Primal asked, noting that Shockwave's forces may have followed Elita One to Infant Island.
"While I trust Elita's word in that she destroyed the Space Bridge she used to arrive here, we should not rule out the possibility…", Rhinox replied. "However, I am only detecting two other life forms on my scanner, but they are making their way towards the center of the island…"
"Then, we must act quickly. Maximals! Maximize!", Optimus Primal declared before he and his Maximals transformed into their animal forms and began exiting out of the cave.
"What about me?", Elita One asked, hoping to help.
"No. With all due respect, we Maximals have more knowledge of this island's layout than you do, on top of the fact that, given our animalistic forms, we will be able to blend in with our surroundings much easier, and we do not want to risk losing our element of surprise", Primal replied in a serious tone. "Besides, in the event any Decepticons arrive here, in the sanctum, we will need someone to inform us immediately".
"But—", Elita tried to argue.
"If we are dealing with Decepticons, or any other threat to you and the island, we will contact you. Now, remain here, for there is no time for debate!", Primal ordered just before quickly exiting the cave in his gorilla form.
Elita One sighed. "Well…I am beginning to see why he was named after Optimus Prime…", she commented as she watched the Maximals leave the cave.
Some time later, back with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, the two Autobots continued their journey towards the center of Infant Island, where they remained in their robot modes due to all the trees, bushes, and obviously dinosaurs around them, meaning driving there would be far too convoluted with using their vehicle modes. As they continued walking, however, both of them heard a rustling sound coming from a couple bushes behind them, along with some growling noises, as well.
Getting defensive, Optimus Prime immediately activated his mouth plate and aimed his blaster in the direction where the sound originated from.
"Optics sharp, Bumblebee. We may be being watched…", Optimus Prime said to his scout, quietly.
In response, Bumblebee aimed his two double-barreled blasters in another direction, along with using his bleeping to ask Optimus why they would be being watched, given that the only life forms that were thought to have lived on the island currently were Mothra and the dinosaurs.
"I do not know, but given what we are searching for on this island, it may be possible that Starscream got wind of our plan and followed us. Be ready…", Optimus Prime replied.
Then, before either of them knew it, out from one of the bushes, pounced Cheetor, who landed all four of his paws right on top of Bumblebee, who was now a greater distance away from Optimus! Upon being pinned down by the large cheetah, Bumblebee gave out some distressed, yet also confused bleeping noises, shocked by what had just happened.
"Bumblebee!", Optimus Prime shouted as he aimed his blaster at Cheetor.
Before he could shoot at or threaten Cheetor, out from some other bushes, was Rhinox, who came rushing out in his rhinoceros form and slammed Optimus Prime aside by swinging his horn at the end of his snout! Despite the initial shock of the attack and being flung back, Optimus Prime was able to land on his feet and quickly regained his bearings, now aiming his blaster at Rhinox. Optimus Prime was then cornered when Dinobot emerged out of another bush in his Velociraptor form, letting out some defensive roars, along with Airazor, who perched herself on a tree above Optimus, cawing ferociously as she landed. Optimus Prime was now cornered by the three Maximals, and to make matters worse, landing right in front of him, was Optimus Primal, who challenged him in his gorilla form!
"Oooooooooaaaaaaarrr!", Optimus Primal roared at Optimus Prime, still locked in the mentality of believing that Decepticons had come to Infant Island.
"Please! I mean you no harm! Release my scout and we will seek no harm to your kind…", Optimus Prime pleaded before taking notice to the insignia implanted on the gorilla's chest, where he noticed it was the Maximal insignia. With this bot having the symbol of the Maximals, being able to transform into a gorilla, along with commanding other bots who could transform into other animals, he knew exactly who this bot had to be. "Optimus Primal…?"
As soon as Optimus Prime said this, Optimus Primal immediately ceased his aggression and transformed back into his robot form in order to signify this.
"Wait…can it be…?", Optimus Primal reacted as he slowly approached Optimus Prime. "Yes, it is you, Optimus Prime…", he reacted in shock. "Maximals, stand down!", he commanded his team.
Hearing this, the other four Maximals immediately transformed back into their robot modes, with Airazor now standing on the ground and Cheetor releasing Bumblebee from being pinned down.
"Forgive me, Optimus Prime, for we believed that you and your friend were…Decepticons…", Optimus Primal admitted.
"All is forgiven, Primal", Optimus Prime replied as he switched his blaster out for his hand and retracted his mouth plate. "Please, allow me to properly introduce myself to you and your friends. My name is Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots, and this is my scout, Bumblebee. We have come to this island in search of a Titan to aid us in a plight of ours, and I can only assume that you may be here for the same reason".
"Our reasoning is far more complicated than that, Prime, but we will explain on the way to the island's sanctum", Optimus Primal said. "That aside, allow me to introduce my team. Airazor, our flyer and a resounding voice of reason", he gestured to her.
"It is a pleasure to be in a noble presence such as yourself, Optimus Prime", Airazor said as she made a bowing motion to Optimus Prime.
"Former Predacon turned Maximal ally, Dinobot…", Primal gestured to Dinobot.
"Welcome aboard, Prime. Don't worry, things here are only getting weirder by the minute…", Dinobot said.
"Our scientist and warrior, Rhinox, and our youngest member and own scout, Cheetor", Primal then gestured to Rhinox and Cheetor, respectively.
"Sorry about that, uh…wait…did Prime say you were Bumblebee?!", Cheetor asked.
Bumblebee gave a short bleep in response, confirming his identity to him as he stood back up.
"Well, I know Primal just told you, but the name's Cheetor. Pleasure to meet ya, from one yellow scout to another", Cheetor smiled as he offered a handshake to Bumblebee, to which Bumblebee accepted.
"And there is myself, who you know to be named, Optimus Primal, named after you, the archivist of Iacon who became the last of the Primes…", Optimus Primal said to Optimus Prime.
"It is an honor to meet you, Optimus Primal", Optimus Prime said before he and Primal shook hands.
"The honor is mine", Primal replied. "I assume that you are here because you seek the aid of Mothra…"
"Yes. How did you know her name…?", Optimus Prime asked.
"Do not worry, Prime, for I will explain everything to you as we make our way towards her sanctum", Primal replied as he began leading his namesake and the others further into the island.
"Hey, you like to go fast?", Cheetor asked Bumblebee as the others began walking away.
Bumblebee then gave some enthusiastic bleeping and blooping as a reply, which was his way of saying "yes".
"Ha-ha, you and I are gonna get along just fine…", Cheetor smiled as he and Bumblebee followed the others.
Eventually, the group of Autobots and Maximals were able to reach the cave which acted as the sanctum of Infant Island, where they were all present in front of the Transwarp Key, with Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal leading the group.
"So, you fled your home, Maderan, and used your possession of the Transwarp Key to travel back in time before landing here?", Optimus Prime asked, as Primal had finished explaining everything to him at some point before.
"Indeed, for we knew we could not allow the Transwarp Key to fall into the possession of Nova Prime", Primal replied.
"I have heard of this Nova Prime, and how he became so infatuated with the unholy power he wields", Optimus Prime said. "Not only that, but you said you believed we may have been Decepticons since Dinobot came here from Cybertron?", he asked as they had now entered the cave.
"Indeed", Dinobot replied in his raspy voice. "However, it is worth mentioning that I was not the only one to arrive here… Primal…", he said to his leader, prompting him to speak on this subject.
"It is true, for Dinobot ended up harboring an Autobot here with him, one that, if the stories of this individual are true, it may be best that we Maximals remain absent for when you reunite with this individual", Primal said as he led them passed the Transwarp Key and further into the cave. "Airazor…"
"It is this facility, just before us, where you will find Mothra. However, she has been in her chrysalis form for a while now, and we still do not know when she will emerge", Airazor said to Optimus Prime. "However, it is also in this facility that you will find the Autobot of which Primal spoke of…"
"Understood, for we look forward to reuniting with one of our long-lost comrades", Optimus Prime said. "You first, Bumblebee", he said to his scout.
Hearing this, Bumblebee entered the facility first, but as soon as he was standing in the doorway, his optics went wide as he saw who the bot standing before him was. In fact, he was so shocked that he could not help but stop in his tracks as Optimus approached from behind him.
"Is something wrong?", Optimus Prime asked.
Bumblebee then gave some more serious bleeping to Optimus Prime, stating that he should take this one on his own, for even Bumblebee should not be present when Optimus reunites with this Autobot.
"Why…?", Optimus Prime asked as Optimus Primal approached next to him.
"Believe me, Prime, this Autobot has been waiting to see you again for quite some time…", Optimus Primal added.
With this, Bumblebee got out of the way as Optimus Prime finally entered the facility, and when he did, he could not believe his own optics as he saw his long-lost love, Elita One, standing in front of the glowing and pulsating chrysalis that Mothra was contained in. Even though Mothra was the main goal, and the beautiful sight of her getting closer and closer to hatching was shocking and captivating, Optimus Prime kept his eyes locked on Elita One as he slowly approached her, still hardly even believing if she was really there.
"Optimus…it's me…Elita…I'm here…", Elita One said to him.
Still, Optimus Prime acted as if she didn't say anything and just kept approaching her, still shocked and mesmerized by the fact that she was really there.
"Optimus, please, say something. It's me, Elita One…", she kept trying to talk to him, but to no avail as he just kept coming closer. "Well…come on, say something! You finally see me again after so long and you're not even saying anything?", she kept talking as he was now directly in front of her. "I know you don't usually talk too much, but don't you have anything to say? Anything at all?!"
Now, Optimus Prime was standing right in front of Elita One, and almost as if just to make sure she was real, he gently placed his large hand on her cheek. After taking a moment and finally confirming that, yes, Elita One, his love, was here, only a few words escaped from his mouth…
