The assassin's blade struck true, piercing into the child's stomach. The boy cried out on impact, then coughed up blood.

"You….you…" the child said weakly.

"You may have the appearance of a child, but we both know, this is an illusion."

Ra's bent down to the small child bleeding out before him.

"Do you wish to say any last words before you die once more?"

"I'm not….not going to die…" Gil mumbled. "You mongrel."

Ra's al Ghul removed the blade from the young boy.

"Death is not something you should fear for it is not the end, you know that all too well."

He raised his sword once more but before he could make the final blow, he felt a sharp pain in his lower back - his spine. He looked down and saw a blade going through him.

"Ra's al Ghul… Head of the demon. You are an assassin that kills with a code. You have honor behind your killings, meaning. Killing a child… There is no meaning for it. No vengeance toward him for he has done nothing to you, or the league. You stained your blade with that of an innocent child's blood."

Ra's listened to the voice that spoke, the voice of his attacker. Ra's had let his guard down. His first mistake in many years. The voice of his student, the one that helped take care of his daughter and protect her, turned against him. Only a student had hopes of defeating the teacher. It seemed that saying was true.

Ahmar looked at Gil. Although he had a mask covering his face, he still frowned. He looked to Gil to see if he was alright. He was covered in blood - his own blood. He ripped the blade out of his master before going to Gil.

"We need to get you help….. your friends will be here soon…. you think you can hold out until then?"

Gil put a hand to his wound - he felt...shaky. He'd probably lost too much blood. But he gave a small smile to the man. "It hurts….but...I think so…."

Ahmar slowly picked him up and brought him to Beetle. Beetle looked him over.

"The boy will not last long. The bioship is almost here. I assume that they will be able to help on the ship, but if not, he may not have much time."

"I see. I….. leave him to you. This is likely our last time ever seeing each other. Ra's will be healed through the Lazarus Pit and then…. I will be punished for my defiance. This is goodbye….. Gil."

Ahmar looked at Gil when he said that last part.

Gil looked up at the man, and focused as much as he could (though he felt really tired…). "But….you can't stay….they'll kill you…"

Ahmar stared at Gil, a silent message saying that he already knew his fate.

"It's not like we can take him with us, the other humans won't like it."

"I don't care…" Gil said. "You're…..heroes…..so give him….a chance…."

The scarab hissed in annoyance.

"Fine. Jaime Reyes tells me to trust your judgment better than my own….. The bioship is here."

The Martian's ship, in camo mode, landed and the doors opened and the young heroes rushed out to Beetle, Cassie, and Gil.

"Oh my gosh, we need to get you medical attention right away."

M'gann said worriedly as she saw the condition of Cassie and Jaime. Artemis looked behind Beetle and saw Ahmar holding an almost unconscious Gil. She drew her bow and aimed it right at him.

"Put. The kid. Down."

Garfield was helping carry Cassie to the ship when he stopped as he heard Artemis speak. Who was that kid? He was hurt!

"Tigress, that kid is hurt."

"Beast Boy, that boy is in the arms of one of Ra's al Ghul's assassins. He probably did this to him."

Kaldur stepped forth to Artemis.

"I do not think that is the case. The man would have attacked us right away. Outnumbered or not, a member of the League of Assassins takes pride in fighting at a challenge."

Artemis lowered her bow. She examined the grounds and saw Ra's laying on the ground. Kaldur was right. If Ra's was harmed, then Cassie, Jaime, and the boy would be dead.

She looked around once more. She took note that there was someone missing.

"Hey, where is Gilgamesh?"

Beetle looked over.

"He is that young boy there. The Heroic Spirit, Gilgamesh, told Jaime Reyes that he would turn himself to a child to escape Vandal Savage."

"Wait, Savage is here? We need to leave, now."

Artemis glared at Ahmar as he hesitantly walked into the bioship. He still had Gil in his arms. The assassin spoke to the young boy once he got on.

"Gil, you need to stay awake."

"But….I don't wanna…" His eyelids felt so heavy, and it was so much trouble to focus on anything now….he just wanted to take a nap...nothing was wrong with a nap….right?

"I need you to stay awake, just for a little bit. You could fall asleep and never wake up."

"Fine…." Gil relented. "I'll….do my best…"

They flew to the nearest place that would have a hospital. Ahmar was applying pressure to Gil's wound to slow the bleeding. Out of everyone, he was the most likely one to die. Scarab was helping Jaime and Cassie was not bleeding out anymore. Gil was the only one in the most danger. Kaldur took Gil, seeing as an assassin would not be able to go into the hospital, and brought Gil into the hospital. It would be a few hours before they would see him again.

It took them a while, but they finally called Tim and told him of Cassie's condition. He was a little freaked out and quite upset that he only found out about her kidnapping once they rescued her and had her treated, but he was relieved to hear that she was stable and going to recover fine. He wanted to come to her, but Kaldur told him that he was fine staying with Grayson for the time being. He did go there because it was his brother that was hurt. Tim really couldn't catch a break with the people he cared for getting hurt. He took note that it started to happen more after Gilgamesh arrived.

Artemis kept an eye on the hitchhiking assassin and all he did was patiently wait for the news of the young boy he helped. M'gann used her shapeshifting abilities to pose as Gil's mom. She made herself look like someone that would be related to him. Only family was allowed to see him, so this was their best option. She waited for him to wake up.

Finally, the boy stirred. "What…" he mumbled blearily, before finally focusing on M'gann. "Who're you? Where….where is this?"

"My name is M'gann, I am posing as someone who is your mother, but it's just my morphing abilities. Gilgamesh, you are at a hospital. Do you remember anything before coming here?"

Gil nodded. "Yeah…" then he blinked. "Wait - Cassie and Jaime, are they okay?" he asked urgently.

"They are fine. You were the only one with fatal injuries. We got you here in time so that they were able to save your life."

"And what about the red hood guy? He's okay too, right?"

"He is being watched by Artemis. He hasn't said a word or apparently moved since you were placed in here. Do you know who he is?"

Gil shook his head. "Not really...but he doesn't know who he is either, so I promised I'd help him!...Besides, he did help us out back there…"

So with that, Gil recounted their time there the best he could - he was a little shaky on the details of what happened before he became a child, but he pieced the information together as best he could.

"Thank you for telling me what you could, Gilgamesh. Once the doctor's discharge you, we will head back. Okay?"

Gil looked out the window. Though he knew it was the smart thing, part of him wanted to stay in the city and take in the sights...but he knew that would be impossible for him. Especially since that meanie probably closed his treasury again, he couldn't even fight off the weakest servant. "...Okay."

He was discharged in the morning, mostly due to the fact that Heroic Spirits generally healed faster than normal people, and they headed home in the bioship.

"Hey little amigo. How are you feeling?"

Gil gave him a small laugh. "I'm feeling a little sore, but other than that I think I'm good? I'm glad to be out of there though - it's so boring just laying around, you know?"

"I hear ya, but rest is the best thing when healing….. you know, I have a feeling if you wanted to, we could get the others and go out and have fun. Sound like a plan?"

Gil's eyes widened. "Really? But...what about you and Cassie...you were both hurt, and it's my fault. Why aren't you mad at me?"

Jaime blinked. He blamed himself?

"You do realize that getting hurt is a given when being a hero, right? Why would we be mad at you when you weren't the one that gave the order for us to be captured?"

"I know that," Gil protested, looking away from Jaime. "But you were only captured because you were with me, right?"

"Tell me, the one that attacked Night- er, Grayson, was Ra's and his men. You weren't there right? Do you still blame yourself? You aren't the sole reason for these events. They were planned by bad people. It couldn't have been helped."

But they could've, he knew. And though he wasn't quite the king now, weren't kings supposed to be alone, so something like-like that didn't happen? Gil felt that those feelings came from his older self, rather than his feelings from his youth. He crossed his arms and looked away from Jaime. "But…."

"Look, as long as we stick together, and we have each other's backs, we can have a better outcome than you think. You had our backs on that island and look at us now, we are alive and well. Sure we got hurt, but we left with our lives. You should look at something that is good, rather than the bad."

Gil gave him a relieved smile. He really didn't want his companions to hate him, and though he still did feel a little guilty, Jaime's optimism made him feel a little better. "Alright then….so….about going out to have fun….what did you have in mind? I'm still a bit clueless on what there is to do for 'fun' here," Gil gave a little laugh.

"We can go to a live concert or a theme park, or even both."

Gil frowned in thought. "Isn't a concert where you just go watch someone perform?"

"Yes. It can be loud and crazy, but it's fun."

"Hmm," Gil mulled over his choices. A theme park sounded fun, but….he'd save that for his overworked adult self, if he ever started to not be a moron. Besides, a concert… 'loud' 'crazy' and 'fun'...and he figured there'd be a lot of people there too…. "Then I want to go to a concert!"

"Alright, I'll let the guys know."

Jaime walks out of the room and Ahmar steps out of the shadows he was hiding in.

"Are….. are you feeling better?... Honestly?"

Gil shrugged. "Yeah, though it does hurt if I strain it…. you know, you don't need to wear that mask here. It can't be too comfortable."

"I'm fine. Plus, you heroes wear a mask, what's the difference?"

"I don't," Gil said. "Besides, we're not even out in public right now."

Ahmar hesitated before taking the mask off. He wore a frown on his face and his green eyes narrowed as he looked at Gil.

"You plan on going out? When Ra's and Vandal are hunting you down? You are a child, they would kill you if they caught you."

"I know it's probably really dumb, but...I don't have much time to experience this stuff, you know? You have the rest of your life to enjoy this era, but I don't have that much time…is that selfish of me?"

Ahmar sighed, those puppy-eyes eating away at his resolve. "You get that choice, you get that chance. You are a child. You should get to act like one."

"I have an idea!" Gil said, beaming at the man. "You should come with us."

Ahmar's eyes widened a little bit at the suggestion, he let his gaze leave the small child and turned his head to the wall. "I don't think that is a good idea."

Ahmar said as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"How come?" the boy asked. "It'll be fun~"

"They won't…. They won't like it if I'm there. Plus, this is for you, not me. That kid invited you, not me. You enjoy yourself."

Gil frowned. "If you're not going, then I won't either."

Ahmar turned his head back at the boy. He was completely serious. He didn't want to be the reason that Gil didn't have fun. Maybe he could tell him he would go and he would meet them there. They would get there and Gil will be having fun and won't notice if he never showed up. That may be a good idea. He didn't want to be the reason the others didn't have fun either. However, they don't know what he looks like. Well, Jaime might, but other than that, he would be a complete stranger to them. Ahmar wasn't sure.

"Fine. I'll go, but I will meet you there."

Ahmar said but was still unsure if he should go. Ra's will be hunting him down for defying him, for his betrayal. If he were to go, he could put them in danger.

But the boy smiled up at him. "Great!" he exclaimed. "It'll be really fun, I promise."

"I'm sure it will, now you go and catch up with the others."

Gil nodded, but then hesitated. "What about you though?"

Ahmar thought over his response. What should he do? Maybe with the death wish he set himself up for, he should keep an eye out for oncoming danger.

"With Ra's… possibly already in the process of being healed…. he may send assassins after me, and after you. I will keep an eye on things while you rest."

Gil blinked. "That's not what I…. don't you want to make friends too?"

"I think….. I think that your allies are good enough, right?"

"Yeah, but….don't you think it would be nice to have friends?" Gil asked. "I never had any, except for one friend, and that's only when I got older. Having friends, someone you can count on...it's a dream come true."

Ahmar's green eyes met the bright red eyes of the small child.

"You think anyone there wants to be friends with an assassin who betrayed his own master? You think that shows trust? That shows I am willing to betray people that I was supposed to be close to. They will never want to be allied or even 'friends' with someone like me."

"But it was for a good reason," Gil pointed out, hand moving to his side, where he had been stabbed. "I think that you can become friends with people. If I can get friends, then I don't see why you can't."

"You are an innocent child, I am a murderer. I attacked the people you call friends."

"I may be an innocent child now," Gil muttered. "But when I get older…." he shook his head. "My older self is the absolute worst. I don't know how Enkidu decided to become friends with him-me…."

"I don't know….."

"You won't know until you try - here, I'll introduce you to everyone!" Gil took Ahmar's hand and led him from the room, making a beeline for the other heroes.

"Hey, guys! I don't think I've properly introduced you all yet, but this is Ahmar! For now, at least, since I'm going to help him find his true name~" Gil grinned. "I know you were all on opposite sides, but try to get along? Please? He's not a bad guy, once you get to know him."

Jaime was already fine with the assassin, and Scarab was alright with him too, but not much. He already told the team what Ahmar did. They were reluctant and weary at first, but it was actually Artemis that said that it might be okay. They knew her words meant something after having a like of villains in the family, she knew that actions were better than bonds and names. When Gil and Ahmar entered, the older members froze.

"You…"

"It can't be…."

"That… isn't possible….."

Conner frowned. His first thought was a Kadmus clone, but Kadmus had stopped doing cloning projects quite some time ago. Even if it wasn't Kadmus, cloning was proven to be possible.

M'gann covered her mouth and walked to him.

"Gil….. this…. how?"

Gil frowned, and stepped slightly in front of Ahmar protectively. "What do you mean?"

The team said nothing. Ahmar felt like he made everyone uncomfortable.

"Kid, I think this was a bad idea…."

"No! It's just….. you're fine. We were…. it's complicated."

The older heroes averted their eyes from the assassin. Jaime sighed.

"I don't think I remember a time when things weren't complicated."

"Haha, that much is true. Trust me, this life is way better than where I come from. I much prefer now over the future that shall never come anymore! Right, Blue?"

"Uhhh, right."

Gil frowned, crossed his arms, and looked over the team suspiciously. "What is it?" Then, his eyes widened in realization. "You all know Ahmar, don't you?"

The older heroes exchanged glances. M'gann, who was closest to Gil, put her hand on his shoulder.

"Gilgamesh… we don't know Ahmar… he just….. looks exactly like a fallen comrade from a long time ago. He died because of the Joker. We all went to his funeral. At least…. Those of us who knew him, and his family."

His eyes narrowed. "Death sometimes isn't the end, right? I know this might be hard for you guys...you've grieved, and…..I know what that's like. But what if he is your comrade? You can't just deny the possibility!"

After all, he knew what his older self had gone through, when he'd heard Enkidu had returned, fighting on their enemies side. Yes, the Enkidu that had come wasn't really their Enkidu, rather a semblance of Enkidu's being that called itself Kingu. But still...Kingu had been a part of Enkidu, and while he had denied it at the time, he knew that though Kingu was not Enkidu, Enkidu was Kingu. He couldn't let them simply….brush this off. At least, not until they actually looked into things more - for both the hero team and Ahmar himself.

Ahmar looked at Gil.

"Kid….. do you actually think that…. I am who they speak of?"

Gil looked up at Ahmar. "I think you could be. We can't just let this go, since there is the possibility. Right?"

Kaldur didn't want to get anyone's hopes up, but the boy was right. It was worth the chance to see.

"We can do a genetics test. Run it against the league's database."

"Just one question….."

"Yes, Conner?"

"How are we going to tell Tim and Dick?"

Shirou put the piece of chalk down next to him, looking down at the chalk-made summoning circle. Rin, next to him, nodded.

"For this being your first summoning circle, this isn't bad," she praised him.

"I guess I have my teacher to thank," Shirou said, looking up at his girlfriend.

A faint pink colored her cheeks, but she flipped her hair over her shoulder, playing it cool. "I guess you'll have to find a way to thank me properly, then."

"You know I can't really afford those jewels you like, right?" Shirou pointed out.

"That's not what I-" she stopped when she saw him smiling. "I'll get you for that," she warned him. "Don't you forget it."

"I wouldn't dream of it," he said, lips twitching upwards.

Behind them, a certain detective cleared his throat.

Rin straightened up, hands on her hips - he had to resist the urge to laugh, not to make fun of Rin, but because he simply knew her tells. She wanted to show off, he knew, in front of this newcomer. And...she wanted to show that she was the boss of things around here. "Okay, let's get this thing started! We don't really have a catalyst so-"

"I do," Shirou said, looking at Rin.

Rin narrowed her eyes at him. "No, we don't - and Avalon doesn't count! We're not putting you on the deathbed just to summon Saber!"

"But if we use Avalon as the catalyst, that'll make the connection stronger," Shirou argued. "And she'll come for sure."

"We're not doing that, Shirou. It's a ridiculous plan, okay? I'm not going to let you hurt yourself for this - we can do without it," she said softly.

Shirou frowned, then nodded. "Alright - I think Saber'll come anyways. I bet she'll answer my summons."

"You do know that's almost impossible, right?" Rin asked. "The chances of Saber coming are very, very slim."

"She'll come," Shirou said certainly. He couldn't imagine anyone else in that circle besides the King of Knights. There was no other Heroic Spirit that was as compatible with him - they had a bond, and had fought side by side. "She will."

Rin crossed her arms, exasperated. "I'd like to see her again too, but we have to think realistically here. There are thousands of Heroic Spirits out there, all ready to answer the call to fulfil their own wishes. There's no way she'll answer your summons a second time."

"We'll see about that," he said confidently, then began the ritual. Speaking those ancient verses, and pouring his magic into the summoning circle was...odd. He'd never done it before, not even for the Fifth Holy Grail War. Saber had just...been there. But now if he wanted to see the king once more, he had to put in the expected effort.

The summoning circle glowed, and Shirou peered into the light expectantly. "Sa-" he began to call out, but then the word halted in his mouth as he beheld the Heroic Spirit he had summoned. "-ber?"

The Heroic Spirit was definitely not the King of Knights, and Shirou didn't think the person was of the Saber class at all. He couldn't tell the person's gender, with their large overhanging white clothing, but the person did have long green hair and looked very serene.

"My apologies," the person spoke, slowly taking in their surroundings. "I am not the person you sought for."

"Okay, then," Rin demanded after an awkward silence. "Who are you?"

The person tilted their head to the side. "Ah, what a curious era this is. Hm...you may call me Kingu. I do not yet feel quite ready to give out my true name."

"That's alright," Shirou said hurriedly, trying to assure the spirit. It was difficult, though….he had been so sure Saber would've answered his call, but...he guessed not.

"I must also apologize," the Heroic Spirit began again. "It seems that you had been expecting a specific Heroic Spirit. I believe that spirit tried to answer your call, but I'm afraid I answered it first."

Shirou stared at his servant. Saber….was going to answer his call?

"Are you serious?" Rin asked Kingu. "You mean she was going to materialize here? And you, what? Took her spot?"

The servant dipped their head. "Yes."

"But," Shirou began. "Why did you want to come here so badly to begin with?"

The spirit shrugged. "I simply longed to hear the song of the river once more, is all."

Shirou and Rin shared a look, and he could tell they were on the same wavelength. The spirit definitely wanted something, and while he could use a command seal to have Kingu tell them, that would ruin any hope of a good relationship. Shirou nodded at Rin - they'd see how things went, and they'd face whatever came up head on.

The servant had begun to study the others in the room - those being Rin, Grayson, and the kid named Tim. Grayson was there because he found them this spot for summoning, as he knew the city best, and Tim wouldn't part from his brother.

"Are the three of you masters as well?" Kingu asked.

"I will be," Rin said proudly. "But these two…"

"Neither Tim nor I have magic, and we have no clue what this really is."

Grayson answered the spirit.

"While that is true, I think…..I might be able to transfer command seals to at least one of you," Rin mused. "Of course, that's only if you want to. Shirou and I are perfectly capable of handling this situation ourselves - and, if you do decide to take on a spirit, you should know to keep materialized, they feed on your energy."

The two of them thought for a moment. Tim thought about how he left and Cassie was immediately put in danger. If he had been by her side, maybe she wouldn't have gotten hurt. If he had a spirit with him, he could keep her safe. Grayson knew his brother, and he didn't want him to become drained from a spirit taking his energy. Tim opened his mouth to speak, but Grayson stepped forward.

"I'll do it. If you can."

Rin nodded. "It might be dumb to ask, especially since we weren't preparred for this ourselves, but do you have a catalyst for any specific Heroic Spirit that you might want?"

"Tell me, does a catalyst have to be anything from that person?"

Rin shrugged. "If you want that specific person, then it's better that it's an object they're directly associated with. Like, with Avalon, Excalibur's sheath, that would guarantee King Arthur's summoning. But if we had a piece of the Round Table, we could summon any one of those knights - we'd be extremely lucky if we got Arthur from that."

"How about a part of their uniform?"

"It might work," Rin mused. "It just depends, most of it is up to luck. But it should work out, I think. My professor at the Clocktower summoned his spirit with just a bit of his cape, so I don't see why it wouldn't work."

Grayson was hesitant but he handed a pair of goggles to Rin. Tim's eyes widened.

"Those are….."

"You can try with these, okay? If it doesn't work….. it doesn't work…."

Shirou frowned - something didn't seem quite right here. "Did you know the person who this belonged to?"

Grayson opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. He averted his eyes from her and nodded.

Rin pursed her lips, but Shirou knew that she felt bad for this guy. "Listen….you know we're not bringing these spirits to life indefinitely, right? Whoever you want me to summon….he'll eventually have to go back to the Throne of Heroes. Will you be alright with that?"

Grayson lets out his breath that he didn't realize he was holding. Yes, he knew Wally was gone and there was no way he would ever walk this earth in a physical form. However, if he could get the chance to see, to talk, to apologize to him, he would take that chance. He could fight beside his best friend once more, Artemis could see the one she loved, the team would have their speedster back…

"I believe so. Just…. Try it, okay?"

Rin sighed. "Fine. Just as long as you understand that, I'll summon him."

Magical energy surrounded Rin and filled the summoning circle once more. She began reciting the incantations, and he couldn't help but be entranced. When he did it, he couldn't help but feel like an imposter. But Rin was in her element, a genius at magic - she was beautiful.

And in yet another flash of light, there stood the servant Rin summoned. It was a man with orange hair, and he had on some strange suit - he looked to be like one of those that called themselves a hero (and Shirou greatly respected all that did so, especially since his own ideals aligned closely with theirs).

"Why hello there, Name's Wallace, but you can call me Wally. I am a Rider class Heroic Spirit and…. oh wow…. you know… you are kinda cute."

Wally introduced himself to Rin, his master. He didn't take note of the others in the room.

Rin smirked. "I'm cute and taken. My name is Rin Tohsaka, but I'm afraid I won't be your master for much longer. Detective, are you ready for my command seals?"

Shirou sighed. Yet another person flirting with his girlfriend. He'd tell the guy hands off, but it looked like Rin had it handled.

"What do you… wait."

Wally noticed Grayson behind Rin and he frowned. He didn't think that his friend would be here. It took a moment before he realized that Rin, his master, was giving her command seals to his best friend. Grayson walked over to Rin. He gave Wally a small sad smile before turning to Rin.

"Yes….. I am ready."

"Okay," Rin reached out and grabbed Grayson's hand. Her command seals brightened with the flow of magic, then altogether disappeared from her hand. And with a twinge of pain, they reappeared on Grayson's hand. "How do you feel? Since you're not technically a mage, that might've tired you out a bit more than a normal summoning."

Grayson felt out of it. A wave of exhaustion rushed over him. He put his hands on Rin's shoulders - her being the only one in front of him- for support. Was this just because of the seal and Wally's spirit taking his energy? Or maybe he should have taken his friend's advice and rest.

"Dick?"

That voice…. it sounded distant, and Grayson could barely tell that it was Tim. Grayson looked to his right ever so slightly. Wally was the last thing he saw before his body caved and he fell atop of Rin and went unconscious.

"Dick!"

Wally had watched his friend collapse, and was filled with concern and anger. He ran to Shirou and grabbed him by the shirt.

"What did you do to him!?"

Shirou blinked. "What do you mean, what did I do to him? I-" he began to defend himself, but Rin interrupted them. She was valiantly trying to hold up Grayson, though it seemed she was struggling.

"Don't just stand there," she snapped at them. "Help me!"

Tim went over to Rin and helped get his brother off her. He didn't really know much about magic, and he was starting to wish Zatanna was here.

"Rin, was he supposed to pass out from that transfer? Could it be that the seal can't be transferred to him because he isn't a mage? Is this hurting him?"

Rin frowned, and shook her head. "He should've only been tired, not collapsing! What an idiot, he must've been exhausted before I even transferred the seals."

"Will he be okay?"

"With proper rest," Kingu interjected. "This human should be fine."

Rin nodded. "I think he's just tired - when you keep going like that, and adding magic like that on top of it….he might be bedridden for a couple days at least." she sighed and looked at Shirou. "Reminds me of a certain 'Hero of Justice'."

Shirou could only shrug - after all, she wasn't wrong. He couldn't count how much of his time he'd given to people who needed help.

"A few days? I really should head back soon and check on Cassie, but…... "

Tim looked at his brother and then at Wally. It was great to see the speedster again, even if he was only back temporarily.

"It's fine, go check on your friend," Rin said. "The best bedside caretaker is here."

Shirou cringed. "Please don't call me that."

"But it's very true, you know. You can't deny that."

He could only sigh.

"Regardless," Rin continued. "Your brother is in good hands, okay? And you can always come by and check up on him too."

"I-... thank you. I will definitely come back and check on him. I take it you don't want to come with me…. you know, because of the whole 'Spirit that is really dangerous' and all."

"Yeah, if he saw us…." Shirou winced. He could only imagine how angry Gilgamesh would be - he would probably be angry enough to destroy Shirou's entire existence. He did, after all, kill the other man. Kind of. "Let's just say us meeting before we're ready could be disastrous."

"I see. So, I'll act as your inside eyes and ears. I'll keep you updated on anything going in."

"Thank you, I really appreciate that," Rin said. "I know it's a lot to ask of you, especially since you're a kid - hero or not."

"This is not that hard. Trust me, we've been through worse."

Tim thought about every event that he has gone through and this was growing to the top of the list, but he still wouldn't have said this was the worst.

"Don't underestimate him," Shirou warned. "He does have the power to wipe out humanity if he wants to - and he doesn't care who gets hurt in the process of getting what he wants. You, as well as your friends, are in terrible danger as long as he remains in this era."

"No, the child is right," Kingu interrupted, sounding still so serene, despite the serious overtone of the conversation. "This task will not be difficult, and I do have adept battle prowess. I hope to be an asset to you all in the coming battles."

"I look forward to fighting by your side. For now, I shall head back. I wonder what they have been doing while I have been gone….. minus my girlfriend getting injured really badly…. It's…. good to see you Wally."

Wally smiled at the current Robin. He could see that Tim didn't look too much older from when he last saw him….. when had that been? Wally didn't know, but he could see that Tim and Grayson went through a tough time. His mind drifted to Artemis and how she was doing. He wanted to see her smile once more. Unfortunately, he wouldn't be able to. He had to follow the rules of the Heroic Spirit contract. He had to stay by his master's side. He found it strange to think of his best friend as his master, but he'd roll with it.

"Take care, Tim."

Tim gathered his belongings and left for Gil's penthouse. Wally looked at two mages.

"Which one of you let him think this was a good idea?"

"Hey, don't blame us," Rin said. "You think we could've stopped him after he realized we were summoning Heroic Spirits? Besides, we told him the risks - he's the one that decided to do it."

Shirou nodded, half listening to the conversation. He was more worried about dragging the detective to an actual bed, then letting him stay on the floor. "Let's just get him somewhere more comfortable for now," he said. "In the meanwhile, I'll make some food. To decrease the amount of energy you get from Grayson, you'll need to fuel up on food instead."

Rin nodded. "That sounds like a plan. Right, Wally?"

Wally nodded. "Sounds like a great plan. What do you think we should get to eat? My favorite food is everything! Uhhh, wait, maybe we should worry about Di-... my master, first."

Wally didn't like that he was going to call his best friend his master.

"Where should we go?"

Rin sighed dramatically, then started patting Grayson down. Shirou was about to ask why, when she triumphantly revealed a wallet. Flipping it open showed a standard driver's license. "Take him to this address," she said. "It's where he probably lives, so it's our best bet. Shirou and I will follow you shortly afterwards, alright?"

"Alrighty. I shall see you later."

All Shirou and Rin saw was a blur of yellow and Grayson and Wally were gone.

Rin turned back to the summoning circle in determination.

"Maybe you should stop for today and do your summoning tomorrow," Shirou suggested. "You've used up a lot of magic today, right?"

"I'm doing this, Shirou," Rin said stubbornly, her magic once more filling the summoning circle, and her incantations filled the room. Both he and Kingu stood back and watched, and in a bright flash there stood another man. He, like Kingu, had green hair, though his was shorter. He also sported some type of armor - Shirou thought it looked Grecian.

"You just hit the servant summoning jackpot!" the man announced proudly. "I'm Achilles, a Rider-class servant. Yep, I'm the hero everyone knows for having only his weakness being his heel. But not many can even get to my heel, no way! Don't forget I'm one of the fastest people of all time!"

"Somehow," Shirou deadpanned, recalling the second spirit they had summoned that evening. "I sincerely doubt that."

"Shoot," Rin cursed. "You're not a Saber either."

"Don't worry, Master," Achilles grinned. "You only need me to win the war, not some Saber. Speaking of winning the war…." the servant turned to Shirou, a spear suddenly in his hands. The man's eyes narrowed, and he got into a stance that typically meant battle. "These are enemies, so I suggest you get back so I can take care of them for you."

"Just wait a minute!" Rin glared at Achilles. "They are not our enemies - we're allied with them, and one other master."

Achilles blinked down at his master. "Wait, seriously? Darn, I was kind of looking forward to a good fight…."

"I'm sure we can find you an opponent," Rin said, trying to look composed. But Shirou could tell that she looked a bit drowsy now. She had, after all, technically summoned two servants in the one night. "But first we need to…" Rin paused, yawning.

"But first we need to get to an address," Shirou finished for her. "Could you go into spirit form while we get to that location, Achilles?"

Achilles shrugged. "I'm fine with that, since it seems my master is getting tired, and keeping me here is likely draining her energy more….not because you suggested it though. I just thought it made sense."

With that, the man disappeared, leaving only him, Rin, and Kingu.

"I would have you go in spirit form as well, but…"

Kingu nodded. "You don't have nearly as much mana to will me in spirit form. I understand."

Shirou sighed, and dialed for a taxi. It looked like he'd be playing nursemaid for a while, now.

A/Ns:

Akira: If you guys thought that I wasn't going to put Wally in here, you were mistaken. I could never forget about the speedster. I love what we have done with Wally in the future. As for people who read this and they knew who Ahmar really was, yay. It is Jason and in YJ he really does have memory loss which is where I took that concept. And I love how Jason and Kid Gil have taken a bond to each other. That was something that just happened and I really enjoyed it. More of that later. Anyway, I didn't have that much to say about this chapter, but my partner does. See ya in the next chapter and stay whelmed.

Sora: I just wanted to address one thing, since some people seemed a bit concerned. Yes, I know Gil is Gil and thus is super OP and shouldn't get so easily captured in the last chapter. But power wasn't all that was at play. One, he didn't want Jaime and Cassie to die. Two, getting captured meant he could meet Vandal. And Gil has deliberately gotten captured before, in one of the Fate games, I think (I read on a forum that it was strongly insinuated that he let himself get captured by Karl because he was curious as to what the spirit would do with him). Gil never has cared about his own life, he's only cared about his own agenda, whatever it may be. Now that I got that out of the way, just a short disclaimer: If you guys don't like stuff you think is OOC, then simply don't read it. Easy. Anyways, now with that housekeeping out of the way, I'll talk about Ch. 6 now. Kid Gil has taken a liking to Jason! The King of Heroes knows who qualifies as a hero, so he's very intrigued by Jason. Also, about Gil's desire to go out in the world and see stuff (cough concert cough), I believe as a child Gil was very sheltered and wasn't able to much, especially with other people. Plus, modern times means different activities to partake in. And while adult Gil could care less, kid Gil has a different opinion. As for the Grayson/Rin/Shirou show, we got some more spirits! And yes, Kingu is not Kingu, but Enkidu. Enkidu chose to come to the era because they could sense Gil was in the era - their bond is very strong. Poor Saber, haha, denied a chance to see her friends again. We also have Achilles, whose intro lines come directly from the Fate/Grand Order game (so the intro lines are not mine!). Why Achilles? I don't know, I just like him and had recently watched Apocrypha. Sue me. Anyways, thanks for reading and I hoped you all enjoyed this recent chapter!
