Sandstorm over Remnant

"RobCo welcomes you to its exhibit!" Weiss let out a long sigh as she walked next to her father in what she could only describe as yet another boring business trip, it seemed like it was yesterday since she walked the streets of Vale with her teammates, now she was like a dog on a leash. It really frustrated her how much freedom she had experienced and now she had lost it… she had lost them.

Blake had gone missing, Ruby had tried to reach her but to no avail. Yang was recovering as best as she could but she had not replied to her messages yet and according to Ruby she had withdrawn a lot from everyone, the only one that she had been speaking to almost daily was her team leader, Ruby.

It was funny how much her opinion on her had changed, from thinking she was just a kid that was trying too hard to someone she respected and could proudly say was her friend, she really missed her "Weiss eyes forward" her father whispered aggressively as they approached the main stage. Robots from science fiction book all walked on the stage as they performed various tasks, the Mr. Handy unit that she had been gifted was the one that most people seemed to be interested on as it folded clothes and tended to a fake house that had been set up. It was a little fascinating how she could see Six's handprints all over the stage.

What she did not understand was his fascination with the colors blue and yellow, it was a bit too tacky for her taste "Weiss?" that voice… she knew that voice "Ruby? What are you doing here?" the two stared at each other for some time and then ran to embrace one another.

"Weiss! This is no time to…"-"Oh come on now, it think one should always make time to speak with friends!" before Jaques could reprimand his daughter Six seemed to materialize out of nowhere with his other daughter next to him. Jaques frowned at the smug expression on Winter's face but held his tongue "That and I invited Ruby and her family as special guests, so they would be seeing each other anyways."

As the two company heads began to talk Weiss noticed how much Six and her father contrasted, Six was sporting what Weiss could only describe as the most jet black suit she had ever seen, a red tie and a fancier eyepatch with bits of gold on it. That and he had groomed his hair instead of simply grabbing it in a messy ponytail while her father was in his all white suit and his neat short hair.

"I… have so much I want to say hehe I don't know where to start" Ruby said as Weiss chuckled a bit and pushed her forward. "Not to worry we have time, this things tend to take a long while to get going" Winter overheard her as she snorted to herself, she was happy that her sister had found a friend. Now that the situation with Weiss had been successfully resolved she turned her attention to her father "I must say that the production on those stimpacks of yours turned out to be quite profitable, we would be willing to invest more in your company IF you have something that is able to rival that product"

Six grinned as he shook his hand and Winter wondered what he was up to now "Oh don't worry, just stick around for the show and I promise to show something you have never seen. If you would excuse me" Six excused himself as he walked with Winter to the back "I hope you know this, but I hate this type of things" she muttered to his ear making Six laugh "Don't worry they are not my scene either, my place is either behind the scenes our out on the field. But after today I won't need to do something like this ever again" this made Winter narrow her eyes as she stopped him.

The two stared at each other's eyes for a second as she pressed her hand on his cheek "What are you up to? You called me out of nowhere, said you wanted to show something but now you are all secretive about it. Is something going on?" Six dropped the act for a second as he pulled her in into a hug "I think I have everything in place Winter, those plans that we made back on the Lucky Thirty-Eight are all falling into place. But I am a little scared now…"

"About what happens after? You will always have a place with me I hope you know that" she said softly and maybe it was just her hallucinating but she swore that his eye was green for the briefest of seconds. Six held her hand and placed a soft kiss on it as he walked towards the stage.

The courier let out a long sigh as he prepared himself "Well then, all in now" moving the curtain to the side he stepped into the light as some in attendance turned to look at the mysterious CEO of RobCo, smiling at the crow he tapped the mic and raised a glass of wine "Ladies and gentleman, I would like to welcome you to RobCo's first" and only he mused to himself "exhibition gala! Before we begin I would like to thank our sponsors The Schnee Dust Company for the wonderful place they secured for us" Six pointed at Jaques as the man did his best to look humble at the praise.

"And the Headmistress of Vale Academy for attending" Glynda simply nodded at him, from the crowd he spotted Ruby and Weiss looking at him with wide eyes. Six smiled a them briefly "No I know that many of you have come to expect a showcase of our machines and our pharmaceutical branch I decided that today my friends is a day to look to a brighter future"

Hushed whispers reached his ears as he snapped his fingers and from the curtain a disguised Cinder pushed a massive projector to his side "The day that Beacon is a day that will go down in history as one of the biggest tragedies in recent history" some eyes turned to Glynda who seemed to be uncomfortable under their gaze. Many of the citizens blamed Beacon for not being able to protect the city of Vale but Six quickly directed their attention back to him as the machine came to life "This catasthrope was not something that anyone could have predicted or prevented, the threat of Grimm becomes more and more dangerous by the day and we need Hunters. We need the protectors of mankind"

The machine came to life as blueprints for a massive building appeared and Cinder wheeled in a replica of the building "And Vale is not going to stay behind, RobCo is building something that will keep the dream of Headmaster Ozpin alive. A New Beacon that will help protect mankind, with state of the art technology and the backup of our war machines"

Some clapping could be heard as Six prepared himself for the coup de gras "But that is not all I wanted to say today" this seemed to silence the room as Glynda and Winter both looked at him with concern. Cinder grinned as she flipped a switch and the building opened its roof, the stars shone above them and the old Beacon tower could be seen in the distance "Above us there is a place like no other, a place that our founder Robert House decided was the next best hope for mankind. A place that before tonight was out of reach for Remnant"

Six pulled out a detonator and grinned "But we are something out of this world" there was a large explosion coming from Beacon as a massive rocket was launched into the atmosphere. Six looked up with a grin as the nuclear powered missile headed towards the heavens and escaped the atmosphere "With the satellite in orbit now RobCo can transmit to every single part of Remnant in a matter of seconds, and there is no need for dust for it to work all solar powered" that was a lie, inside Archimedes III laid a powerful nuclear reactor with an even more powerful AI controlling its every move. Six grinned as a chorus of cheers emanated from the crowd "The future is now! The future is here in Vale. The future… is all RobCo"

Salem tilted her head to the side as her servants all watched with jaws agape at the screen "Watts, there is no need for more of this. You may take your leave" the powerful witch wanted to feel angry but she could not.

This was something that had made her pause to think.

The skies and everything above had been the realm of the gods, not even the most powerful bullhead had ever come close to leaving their planet. But this was not something she expected to happen… not yet anyways, she knew that there would always be someone trying to escape. The more she corralled the masses the more they would try to flee but she thought she had every exit leading to the slaughterhouse.

"C-cinder?" Emerald muttered as she stared at the disguised woman. Over the years she had worked under the powerful woman she had seen many a disguise from the fiery woman. Salem might not have cared what happened to Cinder, only the maiden's power but she did care. Why on earth was she with that guy? Salem hummed for a second as she turned to the table and smiled.

It was something that made everyone present shiver, something that was supposed to be a reassuring expression on a human being looked off on the face of the timeless witch "The game has changed, prepare yourselves. The Grimm shall cover the land, suffocating the life out of all" the witch laughed as the faint red of her veins glowed red and the entire castle shook.

No more plans, no more chess. "Oh Ozma, your precious children will give me what I want! After so long someone else has defied the very gods and with the relics in hand nothing will stop the destruction of EVERYTHING!" she cackled to herself as she watched the broken moon above them all.

After so many years, war had finally returned to Remnant.

"Ruby are you feeling alright?" Weiss asked as she sat down next to her friend. She handed her a chocolate chip Ice-Cream making Ruby snap out of her trance "No… I am fine, I was just looking at the moon. Wow can you believe that Six sent a machine up into space, this is like… a historic moment!"

Weiss chuckled "Oh yeah, don't worry I heard all about it. My dad is over the moon about it… dammit Yang" Weiss grumbled as she cursed the woman that had given her the pun sickness. Ruby giggled a bit as she took a bite out of the ice cream horrifying Weiss "I bet he is, your dad looks like he only has money on his head. No offense"-"None taken. But in the end I am just glad that Beacon is being reopened, but the name is way to tacky for my taste. New Beacon, that's just awful"

"Are you coming back? I mean… if Beacon opens again do you want… you know…" Ruby tried to say making her friend chuckle "I would come back here in the blink of an eye, going back home made me realize one thing"

She glared at nothing as she closed her hands "I want to carve my own path Ruby, I don't want to walk with uncertainty anymore. I want to be more than just my family name and I want to spend my time with people that I care about. So yes, to answer your question if you want to reform team RWBY in New Beacon I would come back in a heartbeat. Who cares what my dad has to say"

Ruby smiled widely as she pointed at the skies "Heck yeah! Than I need to speak with Yang and Prof… I mean Headmistress Glynda and we have to somehow find Blake but team RWBY will never die!" the young girl made a couple of dance moves as Weiss decided that she would ignore her as she tasted her vanilla ice cream.

Watching from above, Cinder leaned against the side of the building she had decided to hide and frowned at the girl that had bested her. "Oh how cute, then we will be seeing more of each other" she muttered to herself as the fire maiden formed a flame around her arms and watched the sky. The world kept moving forward, bloody evolution would make sure that Remnant and its hunters all played their part and if Six's gamble was really going to work than they could only pray that the toy gun really was the answer to their Salem problem.

A/N: Thank you for reading! A bit of a wild week if you are a fan of RWBY and Fallout. The trailer for the TV show surpassed my expectations and the NCR was there, so I am (cautiously) hyped. As for RWBY hopefully the show finds a new home soon and they can finish the story.

Now as for updates, I have been playing a lot of New Vegas with a lot of mods and I've been having it a blast. The Some Guy Series and the Monster Mod mods are the ones that I have found more enjoyment, so maybe I will write a bonus chapter about that for Snowflake on the Sand (if you guys would like to read it lol). The prequel is coming along nicely go check it out if you haven't and this story will be updated as soon as possible because I am really exited about writing about "New Beacon" and how little by little Remnant falls into war, and all the horrors it brings.
