Welcome back everyone, nothing much that's new so I'll keep this brief and just say I hope you enjoy this new chapter.

"UNSC *Legacy* to Marshall Lasky, do you read me?"

Static met this attempt, much like each attempt before, frustrating Commodore Amelia Gage as she then turned to the Communications officer. "That's enough, contact the *Atlas*, order it to head down to the surface, find out how bad things have gotten and provide support when needed. That's the best we can do until we can get communications back up. Have the rest of the fleet remain at combat readiness and someone get me scans of the surrounding system. I'd rather we not get caught by surprise as well."

A chorus of affirmatives rang out across the bridge as the Commodore's gaze moved to the tactical display, the holographic silhouettes of the fleet could be seen in orbit of Destiny Prime. Including her own Marathon-Class Cruiser, and three Paris-Class Frigates, one of which could be seen breaking formation and entering the Planets Atmosphere. Further out was the local gas giant, asteroids, and...wait. Something was at the edge of the system. The specs indicated it was a vessel, but of what make? "Could that be anything we know of? A new type of Covenant ship perhaps?"

"Negative, energy signature doesn't match Covie ships, or any of ours for that matter."

She stared with an almost cat like curiosity, a new contact? That would certainly make things... wait...Her eyes widened with realization, there was only one possibility as to what this was. Not sparing even a moment, the Commodore sprang into action, typing in commands as shouted to the bridge crew. "Sound general alert, we have company inbound! Make sure our shields are online and-AH!"

Before she could finish speaking, the ship suddenly shook from the impact of weapons fire. The battle in the void had begun.

...

Another Scorpion goes up in flames, sending scrap metal flying everywhere as a trio of unfortunate soldiers were caught in the blast. Another rolled into position, aiming its main cannon at the behemoth and firing, the shot striking it just above the chest hole. However, all that seemed to have done was get the Behemoths attention, as it retaliated with another of its energy spheres. Fortunately, a quick reaction from the tank driver ensured the attack missed, only managing to scorch the paint job.

More and more energy spheres continued to be fired as the Behemoth unleashed a new horde of lesser entities, these ones taking the shape of small imp like creatures with claws which could easily behead a human, as some had learned the hard way.

Some Pelicans had done what they could to distract it, but were rewarded for their efforts by being swatted out of the sky like flies. One of these ended up crashing near Logan's position, throwing off his aim as he fired a rocket, causing it to sail harmlessly into the distance.

A wave of Imp entities crashed against the impromptu battle line, tearing some marines apart before being cut down by bullets. More and more of these creatures were dropping like flies. But Logan knew that this couldn't be kept up forever, especially as each attack killed a few more troopers, marines or other personnel. These little bastards were replicating just as fast as they were being killed if not faster. They needed a way to bring the big one down and fast.

Right as he thought of how FUBAR things had gotten, a voice started echoing in his head, uncaring of the battle of attrition. "The Keyblade... use the Keyblade."

This left him confused. "What? Who are you? What the hell is a Keyblade? And how did you get in my head!?"

"There isn't much time, the Keyblade is the only weapon that can harm the Darkseid heartless. Then make for Traverse Point, find Merlin, he'll tell you what you need to know."

Traverse Point? The tourist spot? And what did King Arthur's wizard have to do with any of this? All these unknowns were pissing him off."GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HEAD!"

"Sir! Are you alright?! Snap out of it!"

This question immediately snapped the Marshal out of it, the Marine in question along with several others having concerned looks on their faces. He silently cursed himself for snapping like that before addressing them. "I'm alright, but we might have to initiate a withdrawal, one of you check with comms to see if they've made any progress."

One of the marines dashed to the rear as instructed as another voiced her concerns. "Won't that thing just us out of the sky if try to leave?"

"Look, unless we can find something which hurt it, this invasion is finished. As of now our only option is to take our chances and run the gauntlet back into orbit. Unless of course you'd rather stay here, I hear the company's pleasant."

"LOOK OUT!"

Before a response could be given, Logan's attention was brought back to the battle, just in time for an energy orb to strike his position.
