Chapter 6 Dead Welcome

Morrison was at the wheel of the van that was carrying him, Lady, and Nero to Curien's mansion. Lady was riding in the front passenger seat and had quickly made a call to Dante giving a quick summary of what had happened and telling him to head to the mansion, when he was done with his current job. Nero sat in the back seat patiently waiting for the van to reach the mansion. The gates were wide open as the van drove through.
"That can't be a good sign, unless Curien plans to just surrender." Said Morrison.
"I highly doubt he's just going to give up." Said Lady.
The van drove onto the mansion grounds where the trio saw hordes of zombies walking about. Morrison found a open space and quickly went over to it and put the van in park. Nero and Lady hopped out of the van and Morrison grabbed himself a shotgun, a pistol, and some ammo before hoping out as well ready to fight. The trio readied their weapons and pointed them at the zombies who all just stopped moving and stared at the intruders.
"What's with them?" Thought Nero.
There was a crackling sound from some loudspeakers and then Curien's voice spoke out.
"Welcome members of Devil May Cry. I'm Dr. Curien and welcome to my mansion. My zombies will take good care of you. Now please don't die too quickly I need to collect combat data from this." Said Curien.
"Where's Sophie?" Demanded Nero.
"Oh she's alive for now, but I have plans for her. Now let the fun and tests begin!" Said Curien.
The zombies then began moving and headed towards the trio ready to fight and rip them apart.
"Showtime!" Said Nero before rushing forward to begin slicing zombies to bits with his sword.
Lady pulled out some pistols and began shooting zombies in the head killing them, as Morrison followed behind her and fired a few blast from his shotgun taking some zombies out or sending them crashing into their fellow zombies. A big fat muscular zombie threw a barrel at Nero, who skillful sliced it in half sending causing the halves to fly past him and crash into some zombies trying to attack him from behind crushing their head and killing them. Nero then pulled out his gun and shot the big zombie in the head killing it. A trio of some athletic zombies wearing better clothes then the regular zombies charged at Lady with metal claws on their hands. Lady shot two of the zombies in the head killing them and dodged a claw swing from the third as he leaped swinging at her. The zombie landed on the ground and tried to attack again, but Morrison blasted it with his shotgun sending the undead creature flying back and crashing to the ground. Nero sliced some more zombies to bits as he reached a large fountain in the main courtyard. A zombie covered in moss and algae sprung from the water and tried to attack Nero, only to be shot and killed in midair and sent crashing back into the fountain. A few more zombies jumped out of the fountain and met the same fate.
The two hunters and Morrison took down waves of zombies as Curien just stood and watched the carnage unfold on his monitors. Things weren't exactly going as Curien had predicted, but he had faith that the intruders would run out of ammo and stamina and then fall to the zombies. Curien also began to make mental notes to improve the durability of his creations or give them more armor and protection in future battles. It was then that his sensors alerted him of another intruder coming through the gate to join the party.
Dante rode a powerful motorcycle on the scene as he joined his friends. He twisted the wheel of his bike as he did a donut through a group of zombies sending them flying through the air and crashing to the ground. Dante put out the kickstand and dismounted the motorcycle as he took in the scene around him.
"I feel like we're on the set of a Thriller music video." Said Dante as he looked at the zombies.
Eight hatchet wielding zombies and a couple of zombies with metal claws on their hands rushed at Dante altogether and stabbed him from all sides with their weapons!
"That's one down." Though Curien with a grin as he watched the newcomer get turned into a pincushion.
Curien's then vanished very quickly as Dante began to casually stroll forward dragging the zombies along with him! One zombie let go of his hatchets and tried to attack Dante with his fists, only to receive a lightning fast punch from Dante that ripped the zombie's head off killing it! Dante then pulled out his gun and began spinning around fast shooting and killing the zombies that had been clinging and sending them crashing to the ground, before just casually removing the hatchets from his body. Curien just looked at his screen in utter shock as the wounds on Dante began to quickly heal up.
"This man is a demon?! Incredible! I must dissect him!" Thought Curien.
"Welcome to the party." Said Nero.
"Some party, it's really dead." Said Dante before pulling out his sword and began to slice zombies up.
With Dante's aid the group made short work of all the zombies in the courtyard. The place was littered with dead unmoving bodies. Curien was a bit surprised and angry at this outcome, but he was not worried.
"Not bad, I must say that was very impressive. You dealt with my regular foot soldiers, but let's see how you deal with my elite creations." Said Curien over the intercom.
"Bring it Frankenstein, we're a bunch of meddling demon hunters about to a stop to your operation." Said Dante.
With that said the group headed to the mansion's main doors and went inside.
