Episode Synopsis: Rory has officially joined the New Directions and is very disappointed when Will doesn't allow them to perform Britney Spears at the school assembly. Rory continues to struggle to fit in at McKinley. Meanwhile, Sunshine struggles to fit in at Carmel High's Vocal Adrenaline. Especially with one of the members (Lauren Gottlieb) bullying her. Luckily she manages to find a friend (Abraham Lim) to help her feel welcome.

The McKinley High Glee club were getting ready for their first meeting of the day, when they were interrupted by one William Schuester. "Ok guys, listen up! Before we get down to business, I'd like to officially welcome our newest and last required of the 12 members, Rory Flanagan." As Rory walked in, he was welcomed with the applause of his new teammates. He felt very welcomed here in this club. It's a shame that Sam turned this chance down. He happily took a seat next to Finn.
"Is he Kurt's brother? Is Kurt's brother a leprechaun?" The blond cheerleader, Brittany, Rory believed her name was, whispered to
Will walked to the board, pulled out his trusty marker, and prepared the weekly assignment. "All right, who can tell me who Christopher Cross is?"
"He discovered America." Brittany answered, almost adorably. Rory chuckled at the response. He then saw Finn nod, and was now wondering what he had gotten into.
"Close. He did write an iconic chart topper: Sailing."
"I have a bad feeling about this lesson." Kurt whispers to everyone.
Tina agrees. "Never heard of him, don't want to hear about him."
"Now some people think of the term "Easy Listening" as a bad thing. But I'm going to let this music speak for itself. You guys love Lady Gaga and the Rolling Stones and you guys are really good about putting it all out there. But really good music can also be controlled, and restrained. It doesn't have to attack an audience, it can let them come to you." As he explains this, Will hands everyone sheet music for Cross' Arthur's Theme. Rory knew this song well. He usually spends his time singing classic songs from the eightys
"How could you get caught between the moon and New York City? They're like a hundred miles apart." Finn says, turning to Rory for a response.
"I think it's a metaphor." Rory answers for him.
Kurt raises his hand to speak. "Mr. Shue? If I may. I think I speak for all of us when I say it's not that we don't love the idea of spending a week on this silky smooth Adult Contemporary, it's just that, as teens, this isn't the easiest music for us to relate to. However, there is a burgeoning Facebook campaign that has swelled to over five members. The ardent demand: That this week, at the fall homecoming assembly, the McKinley High School Glee Club performs a number by... Wait for it... Ms. Britney Spears."
The club is suddenly more eager then before. They seem to really love Britney. I mean who could blame them since she had like, three number one hits, in less than as many years.
Will however is hesitant to use that option, so he asks them to hold their applause. "Sorry, Kurt, Kurt, sorry. No, no, no. I don't think she's a very good role model."
"But, Mr. Shue, we kind of grew of up with her." Rachel points out validly, but after she says that, it twists Rory's stomach. He still doesn't like her after what she did to Sunshine. Just because Finn likes her doesn't mean he has to. Though she did make the effort to apologize to her, she basically chased her out of this school, and he saw her look after Sunshine's fantastic audition. She still doesn't like her. For all he knows, if he's seen by her hanging out with Sunshine, she'll call him a traitor and her a spy.
"She's literally why I wanted to become a performer." Tina takes him out of his thoughts.
"I don't want to do Britney." They're very own Brittany said, shocking everyone around her.
"Why no Britney, Brittany?" Kurt wonders.
"Because my name is also Brittany Spears."
"What?!" Will said, shocked.
"What the hell is she talking about?" Mercedes said, also confused.
"My middle name is Susan, my last name is Pierce." Okay, that's a hilarious connection to make. "That makes me Brittany S. Pierce. "Brittany Spierce." I've lived my entire life in Britney Spear's shadow. will never be as talented or as famous. I hope you'll all respect that I want Glee Club to remain a place where I, Brittany S. Pierce, can escape the torment of Britney Spears."
"Aww, Brittany." Rory said with pity to his new friend.
"Well, there you have it, guys. It's been decided. No Britney. Sorry." Will said overjoyed.
Kurt, who is still upset blames her. "Thanks, Britt. Thanks a lot."
"You're welcome." Brittany responds.
"Leave Brittany alone." Santana defends her best friends.
"Thank you for understanding. It's been a hard road."
"Um, can we move on?" Rachel asks Will.
"Yes. Let's talk about Michael Bolton."
This causes most of the glee club to feel upset. They really wanted to do Britney, so the fact that Will just set it aside without even considering it was very disappointed in him. It makes sense that he wouldn't want to hurt Brittany, but she didn't say anything until after he disagreed. This is gonna be a long first week.
After that downer of a glee club meeting, Rory went off to classes, and then lunch. He thought about sitting with the Glee club, but he thought that maybe he should accompany Sam, who was alone on his table. After finding out why Sam didn't show up to auditions, they decided to remain friends and hang out. Sam was officially his new best friend in McKinley. So, after weighing his options, he decided he should sit with Sam. He finds him sitting alone strumming his guitar. "Hey, Sam Evans."
Sam turns his attention to the Irish boy. "Hey Rory. How's it hangin."
"Oh, just basking in my first day in Glee club."
"Good to hear. Sorry I couldn't join you though, man."
"It was disappointing that you and Sunshine weren't there, but it's fine."
"Trust me, I will eventually. I just need to start making my mark here. I'm already the quarterback on the football team. If we make it far in the games, I could be popular enough to compensate for joining."
"Sam, don't worry about it. And you aren't missing anything. We mostly just talked about singing Britney Spears."
Sam widens his eyes. "Dude, that's amazing, for real?"
Rory sighs. "Yeah, but Mr. Schuester said that she wasn't a good roll model and someone had a personal problem."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Rory turns his head to find Brittany, who was sitting with Santana and Quinn. "Brittany over there. Her full name is Brittany S. Pierce. She feels like she's in Brittany spears' shadow."
"Sorry to hear that bud. Hey, why aren't you talking to her about this?"
"I want to. I want to be there for her and the glee club, and I am feeling lonely but I'm not sure how. Things aren't as easy as they are back home. Everything here just feels like an endless crazy circus. What do you think I should do?"
Sam was about to respond when he's interrupted by some football players asking him to sit with them. He grins for a moment before looking back at Rory. Rory hesitates before giving him an understanding look, allowing him to leave. As Sam walks up to the football players, Rory grabs his tray and walks to another table before he gets unexpectically slushied by Dave Karofsky. "Never slushied a foreigner before. We should do this again some time glee-atch!" Karofsky laughs before walking away from the very fazed and humiliated Rory. So this is what being slushied feels like... This did not make his day any better.
Meanwhile, in Carmel High, as she walks its halls, Sunshine Corazon was mentally preparing herself for her first day as a member of Vocal Adrenaline.
Voice-Over:
I've has heard the rumors. Rumors that Vocal Adrenaline rehearses every from 2:30 to Midnight, until the students formed a union and got it cut to 5:00. Rumors that they used to give their students growth hormone until the Show Choir Committee found out and put it on the rulebook. But one thing that will never change is that Vocal Adrenaline is the most ruthless and passionate Glee Club in America. They've been national champions since 2003. That's 8 years! I'll be honest, I'm glad I'm here instead of the shushy house that is McKinley, and free from Rachel Berry, but I can't help it if I'm nervous. I wish I had Rory with me.
She walks to the entrance to the Carmel auditorium, and she realizes that this is it... this is the start of her year at Carmel.
Alright. No turning back now. Now all I need to worry about is... making a good first impression.
Sunshine takes a deep breath before grabbing the door handles and pushing the doors open. She then sees at least 30 people with the boys wearing black shirts, black pants, a dark blue jacket, and blue shoes, and the girls wearing dark blue dresses with black details, black tights and black heels, the same outfit she was told to wear before her arrival. They were all already there, doing stretches and warm ups. It was honestly intimidating. She saw like three people doing the splits. How was she supposed to be able to fit in here? She can't even do much more than average choreography.
Before she could give it a second thought, Mr. Goolsby noticed her and walked towards her. "Ah good, you're here. Now to introduce you to the riff-raff. Hey gather up novices!" He yells at Vocal Adrenaline, pausing their warm up and causing them to gather and listen. "This girl right here, her name is Sunshine Corazon, she's a transfer from McKinley. And starting today she's one of us." Sunshine feels a little better knowing she's a part of something. "Alright, that's enough time wasted. Let's get to rehearsal." Well that went away quickly. She then made her way onto the stage and Mr. Goolsby sat on his piano bench. "Here we go. Sunshine, I'll trust that you can keep up. Five, Six, Seven, Eight." He starts playing some keys which the kids respond to with swift choreography.
Sunshine tries to keep up but can really feel the struggle, especially since they probably learned this a while before she joined. But as she started to get her groove, she gets tripped by someone. After hitting the ground, she looked up and saw a taller girl with black hair. She ignored her and kept dancing as Sunshine got up with an angry face.
"What was that?!" Sunshine whispered as she gets back to the choreography.
The V.A. girl shows a narrow-eyed glance to her. "Oh, I'm sorry, do I know you." She said messing with her.
"Uhh, Sunshine? Mr. Goolsby just introduced me."
"Good for you. Have fun on the ground where you belong." She said before ignoring her again.
Sunshine was starting to get annoyed. "Do you have a problem with me?"
"Not really. Just trying to take you down a few pegs. It's tradition."
"What kind of tradition is that? I honestly thought this place was going to be fun."
"Wow, first you think you can just waltz in here and keep up with us and now you think show choir is just for fun? Dream on, shorty."
Then an asian boy with red hair dyed in the middle of his black hair spoke up. "Come on Gina, knock it off."
Gina rolls her eyes and gets back to her dancing. "Sorry about her. She's like that a lot. She takes this very seriously. She's a junior, and she's trying to do well enough here to get a scholarship at Juilliard or NYADA."
Sunshine sighs. "You know what, I get it. It's fine."
"I'm Preston by the way. Preston Lee"
"Sunshine Corazon."
"I know. I'm not one to ignore Mr. Goolsby. He scares me. Not as much as Corcoran but I digress."
Sunshine sheepishly chuckles. "He can't be that bad... right?"
"Pray girl. Pray." Preston said worrying her.
"Oy vey. I should've stayed in Lima."
The next day, Rory is back in the choir room for another Glee meeting. He was still really bummed. He had just got his first slushy and boy did he hate it. He hasn't even spent a week in Glee club and people are already throwing slushy at him and shoving him into lockers. Maybe he should've looked up for of America before coming here. He then snapped out of his thoughts when a dentist, who is dating the school guidance counselor showed up to check on everyone's hygiene.
"All right, so here's the deal. You chew this little capsule. Now if there's any plaque you missed, the dye will stick to it and turn your teeth blue." Carl the dentist explains.
"Can I just say that you are the hottest dentist I've ever seen?" Santana compliments.
"I get that all the time."
"No, like, seriously, you can totally drill me whenever-"
Emma the guidance counselor interrupts. "Santana. Okay, let's stay focused."
"Rock n' roll, Emms. And besides, this guy... now this guy's pretty easy on the eyes too, huh?" He compliments Will. "And you know what? No matter how hard I tried, I bet I couldn't sing and dance like him."
"Uh, probably not." Will agrees.
"All right, let's take a look at those chompers, huh?"
"Before we chew, I would just like to alert Mr. Shue that there's been a new addition to the Britney Spears Facebook campaign." Kurt persists.
"Sorry. The answer's still no. Capsules, guys." Will dismisses Kurt, slightly annoying Rory. Can't he take a chance. Sure, Britney's a little over-sexual, but she's a very good performer.
"Yes, chew away. Chew, chew." Emma said and everyone took a capsule and began chewing.
Most of the Glee club turned out fine, but then Finn turned to look at Rory and Rachel, who both shared blue teeth and is visibly startled.
"Oh, my God!" Kurt said after looking at them.
"What?" Rachel questions Finn before looking at her mirror to find out she has blue teeth and tries to block them from view. "Aw! I don't understand. I floss between classes."
"Well, sometimes it's genetics." Carl explains.
"Rory, look." She shows him his reflection revealing his teeth.
"I think I might be better at brushing and flossing if I could see myself in the mirror." Artie explains his teeth.
"There you go, blue tooth." Santana jokes.
"I don't brush my teeth. I rinse my mouth out with soda after I eat. I was pretty sure Dr. Pepper was a dentist." Brittany tells them, disgusting everyone.
"I was so excited to come here that... I forgot my toothbrush. And I've been scared of using someone else's." Rory explains himself.
"Eww, gross Rory. When you go somewhere far away, toothbrushes and hair products are the first things to pack." Kurt said, disapprovingly.
"I got this, Em. With some deep bleaching or scaling, you'll be as good as new. All right, open up." Carl said to Brittany who revealed a mouth of blue. "Nah, close. Close again."
Rory decides to have a cleaning at the dentist's place. Kurt gave him a very long winded lecture about dental hygiene. He went to the doctor for some cleaning and bleaching done, so Carl gave him some anesthesia and he passed into a dream. He was in a vanity putting on a hat before walking out

Suddenly the anesthesia wore off and he was back in the dentist place.
"Alright. That should be good. But I think I'll give you a toothbrush so you can get yourself cleaned up." Carl said.
Rory just kept staring into space. "So many animals." he said.
Carl chuckles. "Rock n' roll" He replied.
The next day at the choir room, Will was trying to explain how Christopher Cross was very talented and an award winning star. Don't get Rory wrong, he actually likes Cross. He sings alone to 'Sailing' everytime it's on the radio. But after his day at the dentist he feels like they should give Britney at least one go. He then noticed Brittany raising her hand, which Will noticed and told her to proceed.
"I would just like to say that from now on, I demand to have every solo in Glee Club." Brittany demanded, getting Rachel's attention. Rory just raised his eyebrow.
"What?" Rory asked.
"When I had my teeth cleaned, I had the most amazing Britney Spears fantasy. I sang and danced better than her. Now I realize what a powerful woman I truly am."
Santana agreed with her. "I went with her, and I had a Britney fantasy, too. Although now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not really sure how our fantasies combined." She began confusing everyone in Glee club. "That doesn't make any sense."
Rory raised his hand. "I had a Brittany fantasy too. Not with them. It was on my own. And it made me realize that in America, a lot of things are going to change, and I have accepted and embraced the McKinley madness."
"Good on you buddy."
"Thanks, Finn Hudson."
"See, Mr. Shue? I told you. Britney Spears busted our Brit and Rors out of her everyday, fragmented haze of confusion and gave Brittany the confidence to step up and perform." Kurt said, trying to prove his point yet again.
"I'm more talented than all of you. I see that clearly now. It's Brittany, bitch." Brittany adds.
"Guys, we're not doing Britney Spears, and that's that." Will insists.
"Mr. Shue, you're letting your own personal issues get in the way of something that we are all telling you we really want to do. I mean, this club regularly pays tribute to pop culture, and Britney Spears is pop culture! To suggest otherwise is heretical!" Kurt argues.
"Kurt, I'm done talking about this!"
"Geez! Let loose a little, would you?! Stop being so frickin' uptight all the time!" That last one caused an array of shocked looks from the entire room. Even the band was surprised.
"Kurt... I'll see you in the Principal's office." Will said which caused Rory to have enough.
Rory stands up to speak. "That's not fair. He wasn't done anything wrong. He's just saying what we're all thinking."
"Rory, you need to calm down." He responded with a warning tone.
"No sir. Kurt's right. This past week you've been ignoring Kurt being really uptight, and to top it all off I think it's because of the guidance counselor. When she showed up with her dentist boyfriend, you were looking very annoyed and showed false confidence, and now you're too uptight to see that none of us want to do Christopher Cross! And now you are punishing Kurt for telling you the truth, when you at most gave Rachel a stern talking to after what she did to me and Sunshine."
"Leave me out of this." Rachel said.
"Maybe if you weren't so uptight, Ms. Pillsbury wouldn't have left you for that dentist." Rory then covered his mouth with his eyes widened when he realized that he crossed a line there. He then looked back to Will's upset face and tried to apologize. "I-i'm sorry. That came out wrong-."
"Rory, why don't you join Kurt?"
Rory then stood there for a few seconds before grabbing his bag and walking away, with Kurt following.
"Hey. Thanks for backing me up. I don't really get much of that these days." Kurt thanked him.
"Really? What about Finn?"
"He usually just takes the edge off of bullying, but doesn't exactly help me out in times like this."
"It was no problem. What are friends for?"
Kurt smiles at this. "Thanks Rory. By the way, I didn't know you were a Spears fan."
"Oh, I'm not. I just listened to it a bit before going to the dentist."
"Okay we are fixing that immediately after we get home." Kurt said which Rory laughed at.
Sunshine scheduled a meet-up with Rory at the Lima Bean. She needed to de-stress after the week she's been having. But little did she know that Rory was having a pretty bad week so far. She was continuing to be pushed around by that she-devil.. She then entered the coffee shop of her former home away from home when she saw Rory already there with an upset look on his face.
"No, no. You can not be having the worst day ever. I'm the one who's having the worst day ever." Sunshine argues with a smile.
"I don't know, my day was pretty bad. I haven't exactly been having fun in Glee Club this week." Rory disagrees.
"Well then, let me tell you a story. We were going through a two hour straight dance rehearsal, when we had stopped to take a legally required five minute water break, when suddenly...
Flashback
"Alright you worthless piles of dirt, time for your water break." Mr. Goolsby said holding out a platter of water bottles, bringing a sigh of relief out of Sunshine.
"Oh, thank god. I am so sweaty right now. I need to cool down." She grabs her bottle and opening the cap.
Gina smirks at her and grabs Sunshine's bottle. "I can help with that." She aims the bottle at her and squeezes all the water at her face, washing her up in the cold liquid all around her. If she wasn't humiliated before, she was being laughed at by all of her teammates, including Mr. Goolsby, or should she say Ghoul-sby. The only one who didn't laugh was Preston who just had a felt really bad for her. He walked towards her and handed her a towel.
"Gina's a jerk. But don't let her get to you. You do belong here."
"Thanks Preston, but I need to be alone right now." She said while drying herself with Preston's towel and walking away with it.
Flashback end
"Ooo. That's cold. Literally."
"Exactly. I work my but off but she still thinks I don't belong there.
Another Flashback
Sunshine is at her locker organizing and gathering books for her next class when her locker is closed by Gina. "Listen up, Asian Mera. You don't belong here. You dance like crap, and your voice can't be anywhere close to mine, so I suggest you quit while your ahead. If not, I promise you, I will ruin your year so badly you won't even be able to stay un-passed out by Sectionals." She then walks away, leaving Sunshine to her shock.
Flashback end.
"Okay, now I think my week has been no problem in comparison."
"What did happen this week."
"I have mostly dealt with detention, an ignorant Glee coach, and... a slushy to the face."
"Oh, I've heard of those. It's a sign of unpopularity."
"The football team's been messing with me since I joined Glee. It's all been crazy."
"Aw, Rory. I'm so sorry."
"No, no I've accepted the crazy. I had this weird Britney Spears fantasy, and-"
"Gross. TMI."
Rory groans. "Not like that. I dreamt I was singing a Spears song and I learned that things will always be crazy and unpredictable. So I decided to stop fighting it and try to embrace it."
"Wow. Good lesson for you, but I don't really see how that can help me."
"That's because your problem is the opposite." He said getting her curiosity. "Well, I'm supposed to accept others, but you need to get everyone to accept you. Look, I'm guessing that Gina's popular. You need to prove to her and Vocal Adrenaline that you're just as good as her. Maybe better."
"How do I do that?" Sunshine asks.
"The best way possible. And I think I know just the song to help you do it." He grins at her before getting his Ipod out, looking up Britney Spears and shows her a song option. She smiles, having known this song already. She then nods.
As Rory walks down the halls the next day, he sees Finn at his locker and decided to talk to him about the other day. He reaches him and taps his shoulder. "Why didn't you help Kurt and I?"
Finn looks at him startled. "Whoa! Don't scare me like that dude."
"Sorry. I was just thinking. You and Kurt may become brothers one day. And at the pace your parents are going, it'll probably be at least a weekend from now. I thought you would be closer."
Finn sighs before explaining. "Look Rory, me and my mom didn't move with them until about 6 months ago. And before that we weren't exactly close. I mean I did what I could without a risk, but we were never really close. The most tjme we bonded was when I was going to Quinn's house to have dinner with her family... and that did not go very well."
"Ok, but what about before."
"I don't know what to tell you man. Plus, I honestly didn't care much. I'm really bummed right now. I'm trying to get back on the football team. After I got cut people have been giving me the stink eye. And there's Rachel, who's actually glad about it. She said that she wanted to be 'the only thing that makes me feel good' or whatever."
"Sounds rough. Why do you date her? I usually try my best not to think so badly about people but even without the crackhouse thing, she doesn't sound like the most supportive girlfriend."
Finn thinks for a second. "Dude, have you ever dated anyone?"
"No. I haven't even gotten a snog yet."
"Snog? You mean snag."
"It means kiss."
"Oh, okay. Well you see when you love someone things can get really complicated. And sometimes it'll lead to a lot of arguing. But you do eventually reach a level of understanding and trust. Like just the other day when she told me that stuff, she was scared I was gonna leave her. She just needs to know that I won't." After finishing he looks to Rory who's staring with wide eyes. "Dang, I knew I had a way with words but I didn't think I'd get you starstruck."
"No, no j-just look." Rory points to behind Finn and he turns and sees Rachel in a sexy schoolgirl outfit with pigtails. Finn then runs off to talk to her and wraps a hoodie around her, leaving Rory to his shock. "Whoa."
"Well, Rachel, congratulations. Normally, you dress like the fantasy of a perverted Japanese businessman with a very dark, specific fetish, but I actually dig this look." Santana congratulates Rachel. "Yay."
"Thank you."
Kurt stands up to speak. "I think what Santana is trying to say, Rachel, though I risk expulsion by saying so, is that it seems Britney Spears has really helped you blossom." He takes a second to stare at Will in an 'I-told-you-so' manner. "That's all." He then retakes his seat.
"Wait. Rachel, is that true? I mean, you are sort of dressing differently." Will asks.
"Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy..." Artie jokes about her look.
"Hey, hey." Finn warns Artie.
"Look, all I know is that I had a very vivid Britney Spears fantasy at the dentist, and since then, it's made me feel free to get out of my own way. I think I've just always been afraid to dress like a pretty girl because I've never really felt like one before. Now I realize it's okay to feel that way about yourself every now and again. And maybe it's a good thing." Rachel explains proudly.
"It's such a good thing. I can't believe it." Brittany agrees. Rory, who is sitting next to her points at her in agreement.
Later that day, Artie told the Glee club that he had joined the football team, much to many of their confusions.
"I was pretty sure Artie's legs don't work." Quinn thought out loud.
"Did you get a leg transplant?" Brittany asks.
"Nope. My teammates can push my chair like a battering ram." Artie explains to them.
"Yeah, there's no rules against it. We checked." Finn adds.
"Wow, that's clever." Rory congratulates them.
"Thanks Rory." Artie thanks him. "And I also have to thank Britney Spears for this idea."
"You're welcome." Brittany said causing Rory to chuckle and for Santana to frown at him.
"Britney plus nitrous gave me an amazing idea, and it gave me the nerve to tell Coach Beiste that Finn and I both really want to be on the team."
Rachel turns to Finn in shock. "Wait. You're back on the football team?"
"Yeah." Finn said comfortable.
"Suddenly, you're way hotter to me. Weird." Santana said, making Rachel feel uncomfortable.
"Wait. I don't get it. How come everyone's having Britney Spears fantasies?" Puck wonders.
"The nitrous oxide dentists use is a mild hallucinogen. Studies have proven that it induces vivid dreams, often the last thing the patient thinks of. The subconscious moves to the forefront. Since we've all been thinking so much about Britney, it only stands to reason." Artie explains the science behind it.
Will gathers everyone's attention. "Okay, guys, listen up."
"Mr. Shue, if I may?" Kurt raises his hand and is about to speak but is interrupted by Will
"Kurt, I overheard what you guys were just talking about, and I know what you're going to say. The answer is no. No, I'm not going to stand in the way anymore. If you guys want to do Britney at this year's homecoming assembly, I'm fine with it. I know. Oh... And more than that, I, am going to perform with you. Right?"
The group is getting ready for their assembly number. The girls wear black pants, white shirts, black vests, black shoes and black hats. The boys wear a black shirt and pants with white straps, black shoes and black hats. They were feeling confident about the song, but not so much with their own teacher performing with them. Not only is it cramping their style, it's uncomfortable that a grown man will be singing something like Britney with kids. Rory just sighed, glad that he's not the one singing this one.

Just after Will did an awesome pose with his hat the fire alarm when off causing the entire student body to flee in panic, though it resulted in Sue Sylvester's neck getting hurt. Rory tripped on some afro guy who was yelling and got picked up by Finn and carried outside.
Sunshine, who is holding sheet music in her hands, storms into the Carmel auditorium just before rehearsals to find Gina. She saw her stretching her legs while leaning on the ballet barre. Sunshine glares at her before speed-walking towards her. Gina notices her and smirks. "Out of the way short stuff, the professionals are warming up here." She sees the frown on Sunshine's face. "Oh you seem stressed. Do you need some water?" She chuckles at the reference she made.
"I don't care what you, or any of your friends say, I came here because I deserve to be here. You have no right to challenge that."
Gina stops stretching and faces her with her hands on her hips. "Oh really? You think you belong here? Well then, go ahead Mulan, show me what you got?" She points to the microphone at the front of the stage. Sunshine immediately understands what she means, so she gathers her sheet music to the band and hands them each some sheets and heads to the mic. She takes a breath and hopes that the music gods will be with her as she performs this number.

The group applauds Sunshine's performance. Preston shakes her with excitement. Sunshine is loving the positive attention she was getting from these people, granted it's only from her talent, but digress.
Gina then did a slow clap, ending all thoughts, and drawing attention back to her. "Well, well, well. Looks like I misjudged you. Maybe you aren't the nobody I thought you were. Maybe you shouldn't quit." This puts a smile back in Sunshine's face, seeing that she has earned some respect from that she-devil. "But if you think for a second that you're getting special treatment from me, you're out of you're mind. Trust me when I say, if you mess us up at Sectionals, I will make your life a living hell." She said before walking back to the barre.
Preston gives a sympathetic look. "She's a work in progress. Trust me she'll warm up to you."
Sunshine sighs. "Yeah, sure. And by the way thanks for the back up."
"You're welcome. You know, you're a really good singer." Preston said, slightly shifting her mood. "Welcome to Vocal Adrenaline." He said before walking away, leaving her to her feelings. She felt like she was finally finding her place here in Carmel.
Rachel raises her hand after class starts, drawing Will's attention. "Rachel?" He asked,
"I have a song that I've prepared for the class." She replies.
"Sorry, Rachel, no Britney. I'm really happy that her music has inspired so many of you, even if that inspiration was brought about by a dangerous narcotic. And I think we've all come to appreciate her music and celebrity so much more this week. But honestly, she's just not us." Well that's comforting. They won't be doing Britney anymore, but at least Rory knows that Mr. Schue won't let Rachel do everything she wants.
"I'm devastated." Kurt pulls Rory out of his thoughts. "I can't believe we only did one Britney number."
"I was actually gonna do something from our original assignment last week: Adult Contemporary. But this is just a little bit more Young Adult."
"Oh. Great, Rachel. Well, let's hear it."
"I'd like to dedicate this song to my boyfriend, Finn. I was wrong. I shouldn't try to control you. I've just... I've never been this happy before. And I realize that I was trying to hold onto how you were making me feel so much, that I was strangling you in my hands, like a little bird. I get now, that in order for this relationship to work, I have to open up my hands and let you fly free."
"Finn can fly?" Brittany asks.
"Really?" Kurt asks with disbelief at Brittany's comprehension
"Wait, I thought I was the only one getting the solos from now on. Next week, I'm going to be performing a musical number by Ke$ha."
Before they could jump back to that conversation, music began to play, turning everyone's attention to Rachel as she sings.

Thank you for reading. Sorry I was late. There was some trouble at school, you know, finals are coming up. Anyways, I hope you liked the inclusion of Sunshine, because as you can see at the top of the main cast list, Sunshine is a main character, so she will make an appearance in most, if not all the episodes. Also if you don't know who Gina and Preston's actors are, Lauren is one of the dancers from Vocal Adrenaline Seasons 1-3. You can even see her in Rehab being pushed by a male member just before the triple back-flip. Abraham, is a former contender of the Glee Project Season 2. He was by far my favorite, since people considered him feminine, and people say that about me too. But like Abraham, I consider myself free. I don't need to be restricted by masculinity, but at the same time, I like rock music, and I once had a dream of being in a boyband. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and will return for the next one.
