We finally get to meet the first two characters of the game, how exciting! Enjoy!
"Welcome to Faerun!" - Speech
'Im in Fearun?' - Thoughts
"We're in Fearun" - Telepathic Speech
"Ignis!" - Spells
The horrifying-looking mind flayer pulled out the mind flayer parasite and inspected it carefully. It was even more disgusting before my eyes than I could ever think, its gross slithering body thrashed about almost happily, its open mouth showed rows and rows of sharp teeth ready to eat, and it looked hungry. The mind flayer gave it a pleased look before it looked at Lae'zel, her face was twisted in horror, no doubt from her greatest fear coming true. God, I hope I'm not next...
The mind flayer floated silently towards Lae'zel who was thrashing violently in absolute horror in anticipation of what was to come. Honestly, I couldn't blame her, the same exact fear filled my very body, even down to my bones. To her credit though she didn't make a sound, though I'm sure she wanted to scream at the horrific sight of a mind flayer.
As the mind flayer reached out the tadpole to Lae'zel's eye she began to thrash even harder. She was no match for her restraints however as they didn't move an inch despite her strength. As the tadpole sensed its new host it began to wiggle and jump in excitement before it finally jumped out from the mind flayer's hand and climbed into Lae'zel's eye. I couldn't imagine a more gruesome thing, the tadpole was the size of a big leech and to just imagine it climbing inside me made me shudder. I can't believe I'm saying this but I hope that I'm already infected...
The tadpole squirmed into her eye and began to make its way into her brain. I could see it protruding out from her skin as it made its way to its resting place. Lae'zel to her credit struggled a bit longer before passing out, presumably from the pain or from the parasite itself. The mind flayer seemed content and looked to have almost a smile on its gross squid-like face. It admired Lae'zel for a moment before turning around and gazing its alien orange eyes at me. A cold chill ran down my spine as I knew what was gonna happen next.
'Fuck why me man! '
The mind flayer plucked another tadpole from the murky pool and pulled one out much faster than it took to grab Lae'zel's tadpole, but this time the mind flayer's eyes never left me. It seemed like it was going to enjoy infecting me more than it did Lae'zel. I prayed that I could pass out right now, to go to sleep or to wake up and see its all a dream. But that never happened, the only thing that did was the slow advancement of the mind flayer, with its disgusting parasite jumping and squirming in excitement.
As the mind flayer continued to get closer and closer I shut my eyes as tight as possible. The anticipation killed me, it was even worse than looking at it directly, yet I didn't dare open my eyes. It felt like being at the peak of a roller coaster, with just a gust of wind you could fall but you never know when it would. I could smell the mind flayer. Slimy, almost like a stingray or squid but not quite, there was something else. Something alien.
"Oh god!" I cried out in agony as I felt the tadpole's cold slimy body crawl up my face. The tadpole didn't care at all that my eyes was closed, it crawled under my eyelid and forced it's way into my eye.
Pain. Unrivaled pure pain. Nothing I could ever even think of could rival this. Like an ice pick to the eye and then a sharp knife to the brain. A headache from hell. Pain. Only pain. It was all I could focus on.
That was the last of what I remembered before I passed out.
Dreams. Such a wild thing isn't it? It could be an old memory or your deepest fear. Or your greatest pleasure, for me it seems to be the latter.
Blood, bones, guts. The sight of a dead body, the cries of pain. It felt so good, like you've been holding your breath your whole life and you're finally able to breathe. No, even better than that. It felt like pure bliss. Corpses, death, blood, and gore. It was me, surrounded by the worst scene you could imagine. But I loved it, welcomed it, adored it. My hands were bloody, another cold hand placed on top of mine, a warm pat on the back, like a father who congratulated their son on winning a baseball game. What was this dream? It feels real. But I hate it. It feels good, sickeningly so. But this isn't me, it can't be! All my life I've been, well not purely good but not this. I was never like this. I couldn't be like this. This isn't me, it can't be can it? Whether or not it was or wasn't real these feelings definitely were. This is me, but isn't. My heart says kill, but my mind tells me no.
NAUTILOID SHIP-DAY 1
"Fuck my head..." I said out loud while awakening. What a strange dream...
I rubbed my eyes and expected to see myself in my room, or maybe even a hospital bed.
'So it wasn't a dream huh...'
My thoughts were jumbled but quickly came together, my headache didn't go away though. I was lying on the... Ew... I quickly got up after seeing what I was lying on. The ground was soft, somewhere between skin and flooring, I had a good foothold but it left an uncomfortable feeling. My surroundings also gave me the same feeling, broken mind flayer pods, walls made of flesh, and weird unrecognizable alien technology that is both advanced and horrifying. It made me feel on edge, like I was in a lion's den. When did my instincts become so honed? I've never felt like this before. The next thing I noticed was the heat, then the fire. It wasn't spreading but it certainly had plenty of fuel to burn. Everything around me was burning weirdly. How could you even set flesh on fire?.
"Ughhh!" I grabbed my head and grunted in pain. It's coming in waves. Pain like never before, I have to find some ibuprofen or something.
I looked down at myself and noticed many things were different. Was I always this high off the ground? I felt taller, stronger, better. Well minus my head. But I've never felt so good, I was always weighed down by many things, my un-athletic pudgy body, a shitty diet that left me fatigued, and constant sleep deprivation. I was never tall but I wasn't short either, I was never muscular either but I felt like I was considered pretty average. But this! It's a completely different story! My long strong legs held power like never before, my arms felt like tree trunks and my large torso felt like I could push the world. I quickly felt my face next. I couldn't exactly see how I looked but I had some insight, a large strong jaw with a slight beard filled my face, I felt no blemishes, scars, or even acne or pimples of any kind. This guy must've had a killer routine... My hair was down past my shoulders and I could feel it flap slowly in the small breeze that circled around the room. Who was I? I was certain I'm not who I was anymore that's for certain. But who was I? I tried to pull memories from my head but everything came up blank. I couldn't think of a name, face, or anything. Not even my own name.
Who was I?
That question would have to be answered another day. I had some ideas but first I'd have to focus on survival. I looked around for anything that could be of help. I noticed a small bag and a longsword. The bag interested me the most. I felt something, something familiar like a song you haven't heard but remember all the words too. I quickly picked it up and looked inside. A swirling purple energy filled my body, it felt like home, like a second part of me. I didn't know what it was in my mind but my body knew exactly what it was.
Magic!
A bag of holding I think? But what was in it? I flipped the bag over and tried to dump out its contents. A red bottle and a glowing scoll. If this is the same as a game it's got to be a potion of healing and a scroll of revival! Wouldn't that scroll be invaluable though? The thought made me consider the cost of the scroll and I quickly put the scroll in the bag where it disappeared into the purple void. I held the healing potion in my head and gave it a look over. I wonder what this thing smells like?
'Huh, smells like cherries'
Kinda anticlimactic but I don't even know what I expected. Still pretty cool! The bag hung from a strap off the side of my body, I guess a more accurate name would be a satchel. But a 'Satchel of Holding' doesn't sound as good.
Im getting sidetracked.
The longsword was fairly simple but fit well in my hand, the thick blade was perfect for what a sword was used for, and even though I never even held a sword before it felt like I knew how to use it well, almost like I've trained with it my whole life. I put that thought on hold and holstered the sword on my hip. I should leave this room.
The door couldn't really be called a door it was more of an asshole that opens. It was even more disgusting than the game could ever show, I guess you could only get so much through a screen. And don't even get me started on the smell...
I looked at the 'door' and pondered a bit on how to open it. I tried thinking it open but that didn't work, next, I tried touching it and it opened surprisingly. It was quite a disgusting opening, kinda like when you see a butthole clench and unclench... It left me with a funny feeling after seeing it that I did not enjoy.
The next room was quite similar looking with weird alien architecture mixed with an unknown entity's flesh that left an equally weird feeling every time I see it. The room was also on fire and thick black smoke filled the air. Should I even be breathing this in? As I delved deeper into the room I noticed more and more unusual things, a weird-looking ornate chest, leftovers of what I think are some mind flayers homework, and most weird of all a person strapped to an alien operating table. It was a floor above me but I could still clearly see the person though not much. Im pretty sure I know who that is, or more accurately what it is. I'll check it out in a second.
The nearby chest was also as unnerving as everything else in this ship, it seemed to be lined with bone and was mostly made out of a crab-like outer shell. I didn't want to touch it and almost passed it up but decided against it in case it held some items that would come in handy. I touched the chest and it indeed felt like a crab's shell still, I opened it. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I was definitely a little let down. The only two things in there was a handful of gold and a health potion, though if I think about it this much gold would be worth quite a bit by today's standards. Maybe it's the same here? I put the thought to the side and stashed both away into my Bag of Holding.
I guess I should check on that guy with his brain hanging out now huh?
