Chapter 1: An idiot, sadness and a baby
(Third Person P.O.V.)
"Yoshii!" Iron man shouted loudly to get Akihisa's attention.
"Yes sir what is it?" Akihisa asked as he quickly turned around to face teacher.
"You have clean up duty today, all of the year two classrooms need to be cleaned up I need you to use your avatar to do that." Iron Man said loudly and clearly.
"Oh uh well it's just..." Akihisa said as he was trying to ask Iron Man why he had to clean all of the classrooms and not just Class F but had a hard time spitting it out.
"Is there a problem with that Yoshii!?" Iron Man asked loudly, clearly and aggressively.
"No sir..." Was all Akihisa could say dejectedly as he went with the teacher to do the task he was given.
Akihisa along with his avatar were cleaning the classrooms together.
(Switch to Akihisa's P.O.V.)
My name is Akihisa Yoshii, I'm sixteen years old, and this is my life, my high school is one that rigidly divides up the student body based on grades, if you have good grades you get a good classroom and good equipment for your studies and praise from the teachers, if your grades are bad you get the worst classroom with the poorest quality equipment and are treated badly by the teachers however we have these things called test wars where we use chibi little versions of ourselves called avatars to fight against other classes, if we win we can swap equipment and classrooms with the losing class or if the class with bad equipment loses they get downgraded to even worse and lower quality equipment, I'm the worst student in school because of my grades and also because I defied the teachers once before in my first year so I am what is called a punishment bearer also known as a probationary student, it means that my avatar can touch and interact with the physical world around it, but any and all damage my avatar takes I feel, and the pain is unbearable.
Also I am supposed to do chores and things for the teachers and principal of our school without question or protest, and right now I have just finished using my avatar to help me clean up all of the year 2 classrooms, afterwards I then left to go home, I live in a small apartment, it isn't much, my parents are never around and did not really teach me anything important, which is why I have some problems with myself, they left raising me up to my sister who has a very unhealthy and incestful brother complex when it comes to me, my parents are supposed to send me money for essential things I need such as paying for my rent and living expenses but don't really give me any more for anything else, so if I want anything like manga or video games for myself to keep myself from getting bored then I need to find some other way of getting money to afford them, it is also possible that my parents know of what my sister does to me when she is around but just let her do as she pleases, despite the fact that she is currently attending college in Harvard University in Boston Massachusetts in the United States, in other words to say my parents only care about their kids having good grades and going to good schools and therefore them being bad if not completely horrible parents is an understatement.
I then made myself something to eat, did my homework and got ready to go to bed.
As I laid in my bed I looked up at the ceiling and in my mind I prayed, I then said, Dear God if you truly exist and are really there and care about me, then please, I beg of you, please help me, before drifting off to sleep.
(Return to Third Person P.O.V.)
As Akihisa slept, he did not notice that a small portal had opened up in the ceiling of his roof and from it a pair of hands dropped an orb of light that floated gently down on to his bed and phased through his blanket so that it would not only be on his bed next to him but under his blanket.
The next morning when Akihisa woke up he noticed something was in his bed next to him underneath his blanket which made him say "Huh!" in shock, he then pulled his blanket off to see and find a sleeping baby in his bed, the baby had pink hair and wore blue, this mysterious baby then woke up and looked up at Akihisa and smiled and made a cute sound, Akihisa merely looked in shock and put the blanket back over the baby which caused it to cry, Akihisa then took the blanket off and said, "I'm sorry little guy I didn't mean to pretend you weren't there." Akihisa exclaimed while still in shock as the baby continued to cry.
"Where the heck did this baby come from?!" Akihisa wondered worried and nervously as he then put the crying baby down on his bed and began doing peek a boo with funny faces which made the baby stop crying and also made it laugh and smile while making cute sounds, Akihisa then took a breath of relief that he was able to make the baby stop crying, he then looked at it and saw that it was making a strange face and turning slightly red and wondered what was wrong with the little one, to which the baby gave a relieved look on its face and made more cute noises but then Akihisa immediately covered his nose from having picked up a very foul smell in the air.
"Blegh! This horrible smell... Don't tell me!" Akihisa exclaimed as he removed the babies clothes to check and saw it had gone number two on itself, which made him say, "Oh man, of course this little one did!" in frustration as he cleaned the baby up and took away the soiled clothes to be cleaned, but not before Akihisa looked and saw that the baby was a boy and also he only now noticed while looking at the little guy that he had what looked like a tail sticking out of his lower back a little above his little butt and also wings on the top sides of his head and found that strange, but he put that thought aside and focused on getting the little guy something to wear and ultimately wrapped a makeshift cloth diaper around him.
Akihisa then looked and saw a little yellow bib that was one of the things the little baby boy was wearing and saw that it had the name Mao on it, he then looked at the little baby boy and said, "Mao?" which made the little baby boy turn and face him and make a cute baby sound and smile.
"So that's your name, hi there Mao?" Akihisa proclaimed happily with a smile on his face as little baby Mao smiled and made another cute baby sound, which made Akihisa say, "You're really a cute little guy aren't you? Wait now isn't the time to be saying that!" just as Akihisa went back to being shocked Mao started crying again, which made Akihisa ask, "Are you hungry little guy?" curiously as Mao continued to cry.
"Hmm, I don't have any milk for him so I need to go out and buy some, but I can't just leave him here all alone, but I also can't take him with me like that, and the clothes he was wearing are dirty and need to be cleaned, wait I have a brilliant idea." Akihisa spoke as he went into an old closet and pulled out an old green dragon plushy he used to play with when he was little and turned it into a little costume for Mao and dressed him up in it which somehow miraculously made him stop crying as Akihisa got dressed himself in some casual clothes and took Mao with him, holding him in his arm as he walked and then uttered, "Okay then Mao, let's go get you some milk." to Mao with a cheerful smile on his face and a matching tone of voice.
But just then Akihisa looked and saw students from his high school heading to school and then it hit him like a ton of bricks and made realize and remember today is a school day, but because of little baby Mao just appearing and showing up he completely forgot and as if things couldn't get any worse two very abusive girls Akihisa knows all too well came up behind him and said, "Aki?" and "Akihisa?" respectively, Akihisa then turned around and saw Minami Shimada and Mizuki Himeji looking at him, as Mizuki then asked "Akihisa are you skipping school to work by babysitting?!" to which Akihisa nervously looked at them while saying, "Um... Well... You see-" only to get cut off by Minami who then proclaimed, "Okay, Okay, we get it, and don't worry we'll cover for you, but in exchange you have to take us both out for a movie and crepes again, understand?" slyly with devilish grin on her face as Himeji smiled and nodded in agreement before saying, "That's a great idea." happily in a matching tone of voice.
"But... I..." Akihisa spoke trying to protest but couldn't get the words out, which caused Minami and Himeji to release their menacing auras and asked, "Is there a problem?" only for Akihisa to fearfully say, "No." in defeat, seeing this Mao became angry and looked at the two evil girls now smiling and laughing, until Mao opened his mouth and breathed a huge blast of fire on the two girls, burning them to a comedic crisp until they were both all brown and their hair was all puffy from the heat of the fire, Akihisa then saw this and could not believe what he just saw as his jaw had dropped in complete and total shock and disbelief as Mao just made a cute little baby sound.
A little afterwards back at Akihisa's apartment in his bedroom Mao was drinking a baby bottle of milk cutely as Akihisa watched the little guy and muttered, "He sure does look cute while drinking his milk from his bottle." cheerfully with a smile on his face as Mao finished his milk and then dropped on his back and fell asleep, Akihisa then looked at Mao and spoke, "Hmm, there is no way this kid is a normal baby, I mean he breathed fire on Minami and Himeji, what should I do? Oh wait I know, I'll call Hideyoshi and talk to him about this, if I tried talking to Yuuji about this then that bastard might try to find a way to use and exploit not only me but this little guy as well and I will be damned if I let that happen." curiously and cautiously to himself with a matching facial expression
Meanwhile a demon couple who looked like ordinary humans were watching Akihisa together with Mao as a small demon pointed out to them that Akihisa is the best person to become and already be Mao's new father and raise and take care of him and that it may take a while before they can find someone else just as good if not better than him, as the wife of the couple and Mao's biological mother then exclaimed, "Make sure he takes good care of you little one." calmly her tone of voice matching her facial expression.
After a little bit Hideyoshi showed up at Akihisa's apartment but before he could say anything Hideyoshi told him that he didn't come alone, and out from behind him walked out his sister Yuuko who was very angry and annoyed with Akihisa, as she walked up and grabbed Akihisa by the collar of his shirt and angrily announced, "I and a few others had to do your stupid probationary student grunt work because first this idiot brother of mine here forgot to wake me up for school so I was late and second because for whatever stupid reason you have, you decided to skip school like the idiot that you are!" before the both of them came in with Akihisa and he showed them Mao and told them what happened.
"You woke up and found this baby in your bed with you but you don't know how he even got there as you just went straight home from school after doing your probationary student work for Iron Man." Hideyoshi exclaimed, a bit skeptical with a matching facial expression as he and Yuuko both looked at Akihisa with the same skeptical look on their faces which made Akihisa very nervous, until they heard Akihisa's doorbell ring and the three of them went to go see who it was, Akihisa then opened the door and saw a strange looking man with a mustache and glasses, he then asked, "Excuse me but by any chance are you Mr. Akihisa Yoshii?" curiously with a matching facial expression as Akihisa looked at him and said, "Yes I am, but may I ask who you are?" inquisitively with a matching facial expression.
The man proclaimed, "I work for an organization that helps to find special young children good homes and families who will love and take care of them, tell me by any chance did wake up one morning and find a strange looking baby in your bed with you?" proudly and casually with a matching facial expression as Akihisa, Yuuko and Hideyoshi all looked at him and Akihisa said, "Actually yes in fact was just telling my friends that, how did you know?" inquisitively but also shocked and surprised, with a matching facial expression which both Yuuko and Hideyoshi had as well, the man then assured Akihisa that he would answer any and all questions that he had but first asked he may come in and see the child, to which Akihisa agreed and allowed the man to come into his apartment.
They all then returned to Akihisa's room and found Mao awake now and still on Akihisa's bed, they then took Mao's little dragon costume that Akihisa had made for him off and to Yuuko and Hideyoshi's shock saw that the baby had what looked like tail sticking out of his lower back and what looked like bat wings on the top sides of his head, Akihisa mentioned how at first he thought those were just accessories but the man with the mustache and glasses told them that they were indeed a real tail and real wings and that Mao was not an ordinary baby, but a demon baby and that he gains powers based on certain costumes and or outfits that he wears that were made for him by his loving parents and that the child actually chooses who they want to be their parents and that Mao had chosen Akihisa to be his father, which shocked Akihisa beyond words and left him speechless.
Yuuko then objectively stated, "Hold on just a minute, this guy here can just barely take care of himself, he needs brains, as in someone smart to help him so that he doesn't screw up big time, so I will help him and become little Mao's mother." with a matching facial expression as both Akihisa and Hideyoshi looked at her and shouted, "WHAT?!" together in unison as Akihisa now stood where he was jaw on the floor shocked beyond words and speechless as Hideyoshi fainted from the shock and was also shocked beyond words and also was completely speechless as the man with the mustache and glasses then proclaimed, "Then is it settled then." casually with a smile on his face.
