Things were getting interesting, amusing even. Humanity, or at least a good part of it, were evolving. Be it physically or psychically, they managed to achieve what took other species centuries or millennia for some of them.
Powers were learnt for a price and even if said price was not yet shown, they'd have to pay it when the time come. It was too late to hide anyway, they HAD those powers and they now had to be considered.
Already, eyes were looking on the small planet direction. Some curious, others more interested, but they were looking. This could be a good thing for humanity as a whole, meeting new species, learning from them. It also could be bad, slavery would always exist after all and new exotics species were always in high demand.
None made a move yet as this small planet had guardians that would intervene if they tried to do something big. Never tickle a sleeping celestial.
Pirates tried already and paid the price.
For all the universe knew earth was a guarded planets and one needed the might of an empire to even think about attacking or conquering it. Rumors said the realm eternal was gearing up for war, their warriors were training harder and the adventurers getting back from their quests.
It was not even mentioning the warlords stopping their wars and adopting defensive strategies.
Things were changing and the universe was trembling in anticipation.

The gods were waking up. They were also amused? It was strange.
As the sorceress supreme, and the ancient one, she had a duty to protect humanity from dangers they were not ready to deal with. She had fought demons, aliens and even men so dangerous, she had scars to remember them.
Her advantage over them was the eye, the ability to see the possible futures, far or near. It served her well but also took something from her, the ability to be surprised and she did not imagine how high of a loss it was until too late.
Now? Now she was not sure. All timelines kept making new branches and no matter how far she looked, she only could see a fog. It was disconcerting but not unwelcome. For the first time in century, she was looking forward to the next day and what it would bring.
Her disciple knew and while a few were scared of the changes, most saw it as an opportunity. No longer was the future written by fate, they now could write it themselves
She also knew the source of this new development. A young man supposed to be dead, killed by his father but ultimately survived because he chooses to live a simple life and not seek revenge and he was supposed to.
His game attracted the old one's eye and maybe more. More importantly, they gave, gave, power in his game. Something she never heard one of those being do before.
For some reason, he amused them. Or at least cured their eternal boredom. They were playing along with him, landing a hand to this unsuspecting young man.
She observed him once in a while, to see what he would do, who he was. She smiled at some memory. He did not believe in the change his game brought, the simple idea of his game being able to give someone power made him scoff and for some reason, luck and fate were either playing with him or leading him along, nothing around him could prove those change really happened.
Most of the being were dangerous to humanity but some, like Kthanid, could be considered good and while they kept the good/bad balanced she would not step up.
She like this timeline after all
