Sakha fell in three years. Three years is all it took. From the apparition of this blasted game, destabilising the world order by granting those playing it or praying those GODS power, to those monstrous creatures coming from the sea.
For now, most if not all governments managed to hide their existences. It was not easy, secret services all around the world had to work tirelessly to keep it quiet but they managed. Most of the apparitions were in the less populated area of the world and thankfully, the few time they could not react in time, the video of the monsters were seen as an hoax.
Even SHIELD, for all its power and contact, could not react in time.
Russia, was the first to lose this much lands to the beast, mostly because of corruption. An official decided to keep the fact his troops were not enough because of some political reasons and it led to the monsters destroying every city, village and settlement on the province.
When Putin finally heard about what happened it was too late, he could only put his army around the province and keep the beast inside while calling it an exercise.
Yet all was not lost. While most leader saw them as a danger and something to supress, Putin saw them as a useful tool. He called for the Legion. The hunter legion local leader answered his call and agreed to help, seeing this as a test from the creator, a test of faith.
He gave them weapons and sent them in the current no man's land. For now, and from what his intelligence services managed to get, things were going well. The legion suffered no loss while they kept advancing and hunting the monsters.
In some way, it was humbling to see those men and women succeed were the army failed. Their savagery was perturbing yet the results were here, they were wining.
Putin made a small note to keep the "Creator" safe as long as possible. While his game and actions made things infinitely harder for his rule, it also gave him opportunities. A lot of opportunities.
Already, much like the USA and China, he recruited the 'superiors' for his army, they were few to accept as a majority of them joined the different legions. Still, he was the first to publicly acknowledge the different legions and he patted himself in the back for that.
China tried to ban them and the result was far from good. They tried to "conscript" them, they tried to kill them, they even tried to enslave them and yet, the legion resisted. Won even. While not spoken of internationally, China was currently at war with the legions. And they were losing.
The USA were more touch and go about them. They did not ban them but did not recognize them either. They observed.
As for him, his popularity skyrocketed and for once, he did not have to adapt the reality.
