Forward
Thank you for clicking this story, either out of curiosity or a genuine wish to read it. Let me be up front and frank of what is forward.
This is a retelling of the First 'arc' of FGO, with the Solomon Rings, but focusing instead on the Cryptors mixed in with, of course, HEAVY Catholicism. I say again, CATHOLIC.
I am not apologetic for this and introduce Ritsuka in this as religious as well, as he is literally a character designed to be the player character. While his background is unique, I did overlay more of myself into him, though I obviously am not from Japan nor homeless. Or a Magus. I also know a bit more about the world than he lets on.
If you read the reviews, you will see that many people have issue with me characterizing him, and putting other religions down. I am not insulting other religions in this, but if someone has a legend of the Olympian Pantheon against the Son of God, I'm not going to make it gray who would win. Similarly, Ritsuka is a devout Catholic, but he is also ignorant of the world. He's ignorant so that he can be taught about the Magus world and the conflicts he's thrown into, educating the readers, but then speaking about Jesus and the Lord in return.
Of course, the biggest change of all, Jesus is in this story is the Lord. He is not to be mocked or ridiculed, and those who do so do not know him. He is not to be debated, as he is perfect and here to teach, not to be taught. That is the way of the Lord. If you believe I am going to have Jesus have a conflict of faith about his own father, that will not happen. If you hope I will paint Catholics as corrupt or misguided, that will not happen. There is far more than enough mockery of the Church in all other media. Any search in any medium will bring you have a dozen examples minimum.
I am trying to introduce and show how the faith can be used as a element of a story to teach, without ridicule or mockery.
Please take the time to read this and enjoy it, but know that I will not be trying to change the ways of Jesus or the Church. Ritsuka will change, as will Olga, Solomon, Da Vinci, and many others. But Jesus is eternal.
That all said, thank you, and I hope you enjoy the read!
