Chapter 40: Charlie, The Quileute, and Bella Oh My!

Bella watched as the giant beast hurtled through the air towards her, its massive jaws wide open, aiming to clamp down on her head. Instinctively, she reacted. With all her might, she backhanded the beast, sending it flying backward. The creature slammed into a large tree with a bone-rattling crash, the force of the impact causing the tree to topple over, the sound of splintering wood reverberating through the forest.

Bella was sure that was the end of it, so she gasped in astonishment when the beast began to rise, shaking off the impact as if it were merely a minor inconvenience. It looked slightly dazed but far from defeated. Bella couldn't believe it—she had struck the beast with her full strength, yet it was already recovering.

Consciously harming an animal was something Bella would never do, but this creature, whatever it was, posed a serious threat to Charlie and anyone else who might encounter it. She was on the verge of slicing its head off when Charlie's frantic yells reached her ears, cutting through her intense focus on the beast. She turned her head momentarily towards him, ready to hear what he was desperately trying to shout amidst the chaos.

"Bella! Please don't hurt him. He's my friend!" Charlie's voice was filled with desperation as he pleaded with her.

Bella looked at him incredulously. "Your friends with a smelly dog?" Charlie quickly nodded.

She glanced back at the beast, which was already on its feet. After shaking its massive head to clear the cobwebs from her smackdown, it focused on her with a renewed, ferocious intensity. Spittle dripped from the corner of its mouth as it growled menacingly. Its stench, though, was unmistakable; it was the same rank odor that permeated throughout Charlie's house. She couldn't believe he would let such a creature inside his house, let alone befriend it. How would it even fit through the front door? The beast, now fully recovered, began to advance on her again, its eyes blazing with fury.

Bella didn't know what to do. She felt foolish, but she yelled, "Sit!" in a voice full of authority. The beast, however, didn't seem to obey her command; its ferocious gaze locked on her as it advanced with increasing speed.

The battle commenced with Bella relying on her speed and agility, moving with supernatural grace to avoid each of the monster's blows. She darted around the beast, delivering hits of her own that weren't meant to inflict serious harm, she was hoping it would take the hint and flee. Instead, her actions only seemed to enrage the creature further.

The beast lunged at her with terrifying force, its claws swiping through the air just inches from her face. Bella ducked and spun, her movements a blur. She delivered a swift kick to its side, but the creature barely registered the impact, growling louder in response. The sheer power of the creature was staggering; it was like fighting a force of nature.

Realizing this wasn't getting her anywhere, Bella considered placing a shield around the beast to contain it, which would give her time to think about what to do. Just as she was about to act, a new sound reached her ears—a thunderous pounding from the forest, much greater than before, coming from multiple directions.

As she dodged another attack from the beast in front of her, six more of these monstrous wolves burst from the treeline, their massive forms crashing through the underbrush with incredible force and momentum. Each one was as large and imposing as the first, their eyes burning with the same feral intensity.

She could hear Charlie yelling, "Run, Bella!" but there was no way she was leaving him unguarded in the presence of these creatures, regardless of his claims that they were friendly.

The other beasts didn't even pause to assess the situation; they swarmed her en masse, attacking from all directions. While fighting one of these creatures had been easy, facing seven horse-sized wolves at once was overwhelming. Bella punched, kicked, and dodged, but everywhere she moved, there was a waiting pair of jaws snapping at her.

One wolf finally got a hold of her arm in its mouth. Bella cried out as it chomped down hard, intending to bite her arm off, but thankfully her shield was stronger than the beast's jaws. She heard a loud cracking and crunching sound followed by a whimpering cry as she punched the wolf in the head, freeing her arm from its slimy grip. Two large, fang-like teeth, which had been meant to puncture her flesh, flew from the injured wolf's mouth. Serves it right.

The sight of the injured wolf enraged the others. They howled furiously and launched themselves at her with renewed ferocity, trying to rip her apart. But Bella had had enough of this shit. She threw out her shield hard in all directions, sending the beasts flying. They flailed as they were propelled every which way, as if hit by a truck. One crashed into a shed behind Charlie's house, demolishing it, while two others were blown into trees, causing more trees to topple over. One grazed against Charlie's house, shattering several windows towards the back. Bella knew she had to end this fast, or soon Charlie wouldn't even have a home to return to.

The closest beast, the only one with an all-gray coat, was already on its way back to attack her. Its enormous paws pounded the ground as it gathered speed, its eyes fixed on Bella with a feral intensity. As it leaped at her, jaws wide open and claws extended, Bella spun gracefully out of the way, her movements fluid and precise. The beast missed her by mere inches and went flying past her, slamming headfirst into the shield protecting Charlie with a bone-jarring thud.

Bella's eyes darted to Charlie, who rightfully flinched, raising his arms defensively, not fully comprehending that he was being protected. The sight of the beast smashing against her shield and scaring Charlie fueled her anger. If it hadn't been for her shield, Charlie would most likely have been mauled or killed by this creature—a creature he claimed was his friend. The thought infuriated her.

The beast, momentarily stunned, staggered back to its feet. It shook its massive head, trying to clear the daze from the impact. Bella could see the frustration in its eyes as it focused on her again, its growl deepening into a menacing rumble. Spittle flew from its mouth as it bared its teeth in a snarl.

As Bella glared back at the gray-coated beast, two more of the monstrous wolves seized the opportunity to attack her legs while she was distracted. Their massive jaws clamped down, shaking their heads violently, covering her legs in wolf slime and shredding the ends of her jeans within seconds. The beasts tried with all their might to rip her legs off, but Bella had had enough of these pups.

Spotting one of the largest wolves charging head-on towards her from across the backyard, Bella quickly threw down two shields, slamming the wolves attacking her legs to the ground with a force that left them momentarily stunned. She swiftly adjusted her shield to include her clothes in addition to her body. No way was she going to be fighting naked in front of Charlie.

With a leap, Bella launched herself into the air, flying head-on to meet the largest wolf. The beast lunged at her, its massive mouth open wide, but Bella was more agile in the air as she was not reliant on either gravity or momentum. She spun upside down, lowering herself so the wolf flew over her, exposing its vulnerable underside. In a fluid motion, she grabbed onto its throat tightly, hearing a startled yelp as her grip held firm.

Bella flew them both high into the air, out of reach of the other wolves, hovering roughly 30 feet above the ground. The wolf flailed in her grasp, its hind paws and front legs desperately trying to scratch and shred her to pieces, but they couldn't penetrate her shield. The beast's massive head twisted and shook wildly, saliva spraying from its open mouth, splattering all over her shield covered body. Yuck!

Bella looked down and saw all the other beasts circling beneath her, their eyes blazing with a feral rage. She knew she had to end this. These creatures seemed relentless, showing no signs that they would ever back down. With the largest wolf held firmly in her grasp, she pulled back her left arm, muscles coiling, and delivered a hard punch squarely to the beast's head. The impact echoed through the forest, a thunderous crack that sent birds fleeing from the treetops. The wolf yelped in pain, its eyes momentarily glazing over, but it continued thrashing in its madness, desperately trying to reach her.

Determined to subdue the beast, Bella pulled back her arm once more, channeling all her strength into a single, decisive blow. Her fist connected with the wolf's skull with a bone-crunching force that reverberated so loudly it could probably be heard for miles around. This time, the impact was too much for the beast. Its eyes rolled back, and it went limp, hanging lifelessly in the air, held aloft only by Bella's grip on its throat. Below her, the remaining wolves went into a frenzy, howling and snarling as they circled, unable to reach either of them.

Then, to Bella's utter astonishment, the wolf she was holding began to shift and change in her grip. The transformation was surreal and rapid, fur receding and limbs reshaping until she found herself clutching an unconscious man by the neck. What the hell? Her mind raced to comprehend what she had just seen. She brought the man closer to study his face. He had strong, chiseled features, tanned skin, and short-cropped black hair, distinctly Native American. Was he some type of werewolf? Were all these beasts werewolves and really men in disguise? That would explain how Charlie could call them friends. But why were they attacking her?

Bella was bewildered, studying the unconscious man in her grip while the wolves below continued their frenzied howling and growling. Her mind raced, trying to piece together the reality of what she was facing. Werewolves? Men who transformed into wolves? It was almost too much to process. As she pondered her next move, a strange sensation jolted her back to the present. She felt something poking her in the stomach. Glancing down, her eyes widened in shock.

"Oh God!" she yelled, her voice echoing in the tense air. The man's dick was engorged, and he had a raging hard-on, its tip pressing against her. Holy shit, that thing was enormous.

She stared at it in disbelief. It was thick and veined, the head swollen and flushed a deep red. The shaft seemed to pulse with an almost alarming vitality, the veins bulging as blood pumped through them. But the size... that thing had to be bigger than the lower half of her arm.

Completely freaked out, she quickly released the man's neck in disgust. He fell unceremoniously to the ground, plummeting the 30 feet to the earth below. The other wolves went wild, their fury intensifying as they witnessed their comrade's fall.

This whole situation Bella had found herself in was just getting weirder by the second. Naked werewolf men with horse cocks... What the fuck! She looked down at Charlie, still encased in her shield near his house. Wanting to speak with him, she lifted the shield protecting him, raising him into the air until he was at her level while at the same time flying over to meet him.

As Bella approached, she saw Charlie's eyes widen in shock as he seemingly floated up into the air. Reaching his side, she really let him have it. "What the hell, Dad? You're friends with a bunch of werewolves? What are these things, and if I can't kill them, how are we going to get them to stop attacking me? This is the most fucked-up thing I've ever seen, and I'm a goddamn vampire. Help me out here. You know these things better than I do."

Bella's eyes darted to the wolves below, who showed no signs of calming down. Their growls and snarls filled the air, creating an almost symphony of rage.

Charlie's eyes were wide as he looked down and saw himself standing on thin air. His arms moved outward, feeling something invisible around him, maybe like a box? Whatever it was, it had certainly protected him when he watched one of the pack slam right into him. He had thought he was a goner yet again, but once more, it seemed Bella had saved him in some mysterious way. He looked over at Bella, seemingly hovering next to him, waiting for an answer. Holy shit, Bella could fly too!

Bella yelled, trying to get his attention, snapping him out of his astonishment. Charlie knew he had to keep it together and focus his mind, despite the overwhelming chaos around him. "I've never seen them act like this, but then again, I've never seen them around a vampire before," he managed to say, his voice strained but steady. "Can you restrain them, Bella? If I can get Sam, their leader, to hear me, maybe he can order the others to stop."

Bella looked down at the wolves below, all acting like rabid dogs. Determined to take control of the situation, she placed shields on top of each of them, forcing them against the ground so they were pinned in place and couldn't move. Some of the wolves whimpered while others growled, but they were all restrained now.

With the wolves subdued, Bella moved Charlie to a safer spot, away from the restrained beasts. She lowered him and herself to the ground, her eyes still scanning the wolves to make sure they couldn't get free. "Alright, Dad, try to calm them down. These things... err, guys... are very lucky you were here to speak up for them. I wouldn't have held back otherwise. They're all trying to kill me, and look, I'm covered in wolf spit."

Bella felt disgusting as she flicked her arm, sending a long spray of sticky mucus splattering onto one of the shields pinning down a wolf. She grimaced, trying to wipe away more of the spit, but it had already soaked into her clothes, clinging to her like a foul second skin. The stench was unbearable. She prayed the odor would disappear after taking the shower of a lifetime—maybe a dozen showers. She was beyond frustrated.

Charlie saw Bella nod at him, signaling that he was up. Nodding back, he took a deep breath to steady himself before turning to the wolves and speaking urgently. "Sam! Sam!" His eyes darted among the massive forms, but he was unable to discern who was who, having only seen Seth before in his wolf form. "Which one of you is Sam, goddamn it? Transform now! You need to stop this. This is Bella, my daughter. She's not a threat to me or anyone else. Please, transform before you guys get hurt any further. Talk to us, Sam. We need to resolve this."

Bella watched the wolves closely, her eyes narrowing as she anticipated their next move. To her astonishment, one of the wolves began to shift and morph, its massive form shrinking until, moments later, a naked man lay on the ground beneath her shield. She barely had time to process this when the other wolves began to transform as well.

She glanced at Charlie, who gave her a reassuring nod. Taking a deep breath, Bella removed the shields that had been pinning the wolves—strike that, men—to the ground. As they stood up, each one began to untie a pair of shorts that had been secured around their ankles, some more quickly than others.

Bella's eyes widened. Holy shit, that was a lot of dicks. These were the first real, live dicks she had seen up close, and she couldn't help but wish it was under different circumstances. Her gaze swept over the group, taking in the impressive sights. Boy, these guys had nothing to be embarrassed about; she had thought porn dicks were large, but they didn't compare to what these man/wolf freaks were packing.

Bella directed her attention to the first man who had transformed. He stepped forward, his expression furious as he spoke. "Your daughter is a leech? Why have you kept this from us, Charlie? It's not welcome here and must leave! If the leech doesn't leave immediately, we will destroy it, regardless of who it was once related to."

Bella couldn't believe the balls on this fucker. "Listen, Cujo, you have no right to dictate anything to me. You assholes were the ones who attacked me. Unprovoked, I might add. I've done nothing to any of you. Now, I just came to town yesterday, and my dad had no idea I was a vampire." She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down as this had been the first real battle she had ever been in. Feeling more centered, she continued, "Now, I have no problem being civil with you guys, but you're going to have to drop this attitude problem immediately. If it wasn't for my dad asking me to spare your lives, all of you would be dead right now. I don't take kindly to being attacked."

Sam stood silent, processing her words, his face a mask of contemplation. Before he could respond, another wolfman behind him called out angrily, his voice dripping with venom. "You can't trust the leech, Sam! Don't stare directly into its eyes. It's a demon, and probably some sort of witch to boot. It must have already put the juju on Charlie to get him to trust it. We need to rip its head off and burn it to ash to free his mind."

Bella's gaze shifted behind Sam, spotting the speaker. He was the asshole who had almost mauled Charlie. She couldn't help but shake her head in exasperation. Why were the good-looking ones always the dumbest?

"Shut up, Paul," the lead wolfman, Sam, declared, still deep in thought.

While Sam stewed, Bella couldn't keep quiet any longer. She had tried to ignore the situation altogether, but this conversation seemed like it would take a while. She decided to speak up. "Hey, while I'm fine hashing this all out, could one of you guys go cover that thing up? It's very distracting."

She pointed to what she was referring to, and all the wolfmen turned to see their comrade still unconscious, lying sprawled on the ground. He was spread-eagle with his arms and legs splayed wide, like he was making a snow angel, but his massive dick was still pointing straight up into the air. All eleven-plus inches of it!

"Damn it, Jake. Quil, go cover him up," Sam barked.

Quil's face contorted with disgust as he glanced over at the unconscious man. "Shit, I don't want to go near that thing. Jarred, you're into the dudes. You do it," he stated, shifting his gaze to his friend.

Jarred's eyes narrowed, his expression filled with indignation. "Fuck you, Quil. How many times do I have to say it? I thought she was a woman! I'm not touching that thing either. Where's Leah when you need her? She loves smoking that pole," he yelled back.

"Shut the hell up, man. That's my sister you're talking about," Seth snapped, his anger flaring as he shoved Jarred hard, sending him sprawling back on his ass.

Bella couldn't believe these guys. They were like children, bickering, and it seemed no one wanted to get near the naked dude. She felt sorry for the lady who had to be impaled by that thing; it looked like it would split any girl in two.

Seeing that none of the wolf men were going to help their friend, she sighed in exasperation. She scanned the area, her eyes landing on a tarp off to the side of the house, likely covering a lawn mower. Grabbing hold of it with her shield, she lifted the tarp into the air and floated it towards the unconscious man. Once it was over him, she lowered it, covering his quite noticeable problem. However, there was now a large tent poking up in the middle of the tarp, making the scene even more absurd.

"Well done, guys. I'm glad to see I'm dealing with men who can act decisively," Bella said with a sharp edge to her voice, unable to resist giving them a dig.

Charlie finally spoke up, his voice firm. "Sam, why don't you come inside with Bella and me, and we can sort this all out. I'm not sending Bella away, so I want you guys to come to some sort of amicable understanding. You've already ruined my backyard, and I'm not going to let you destroy my house next."

Sam nodded, but before he could speak, Paul cut in. "You can't trust it, Sam. We should—"

"Go home, Paul. Immediately," Sam barked, his voice leaving no room for argument. "Tell Billy, Sue, Leah, and the others that everything is under control. I'm going to handle this now."

Bella watched as Paul's body seemed to explode back into a giant wolf. Her eyes widened, witnessing the transformation. With her enhanced vision, she could see every detail as if he was doing it in slow motion—the rippling of his muscles, the expansion of his limbs, and the way his skin seemed to shimmer and shift as fur sprouted and covered his body. It was even more impressive than when they changed from wolves to men. How did they do that? She hoped she would get a chance to ask. It made her wonder what other types of supernatural creatures were real. If vampires existed and now werewolves too, what else might be out there, lurking in the shadows?

Paul, now fully in his wolf form, growled low while staring at her, his eyes still full of mistrust and anger as he turned and bounded away into the forest, his massive form disappearing among the trees with surprising grace for a creature of his size.

Charlie watched Paul go, then turned back to Bella and Sam, his expression a mix of determination and concern. "Alright, you two, let's get inside and figure this out," he said, gesturing towards the house.

As Bella walked towards the backdoor, she glanced over her shoulder and noticed the other wolf men gathering around their covered comrade. They began slapping his face, trying to wake him up. The sound of loud slaps echoed through the air. Hmm, they didn't seem to have any issue doing that. She watched them for a moment longer before stepping inside.

Once inside, Charlie closed the door behind them and took a deep breath. "Now, please, let's be civil. We're inside my house. No wolf or vampire fighting allowed," he said, his tone firm, brooking no room for disagreement.

Bella nodded, as did Sam, though his expression remained wary. They moved to the kitchen table, each taking a seat opposite one another, while Charlie positioned himself between them, clearly intending to play the role of mediator. Bella remained silent about it but she was poised to throw a shield over Charlie at a moment's notice if Sam showed any sign of wolfing out. The memory of Paul's explosive transformation in the backyard was fresh in her mind; such an event in the confines of a small kitchen like Charlie's would not end well for any human nearby.

I hope you found the battle as epic as I had envisioned and that it made you laugh just as much as it did me while writing it.

In the next chapter, we'll explore the aftermath of the battle. Beyond that... well, I'll keep you guessing, but I believe there's a scene that certain shippers will really enjoy.

Special thanks to Reinbeau for thinking up the chapter title—it was much better than what I had originally come up with.

I appreciate your comments and enjoy reading anything you have to say.
