Peter struggled to adapt to losing his spidey-sense in and out of costume. He used to combine his spidey-sense with his agility to avoid attacks, but now the criminals could land decisive hits with their weapons, which also included the guns.

There was one incident in which he got shot by a few terrorists as he attempted to put a trace on one of them. He also discovered that he had no way of tracking anyone anymore, and the terrorists would have gotten away if Ben hadn't been there to track them down.

He even found that walking down the street wasn't easy. It's been years since he looked both ways before crossing. Now, crossing the road was a continuous hazard as he was almost always nearly getting run over by cars.

His immediate concern was MJ, who couldn't help but notice he was returning with far more injuries than normal.

"Peter, what is going on?" MJ asked as she applied the bandages around his waist. "You come home beaten up before, but never as bad as this."

"I can take it," Peter assured her.

"Peter Benjamin Parker, do not lie to your wife," she scolded. "We promised one another that we would be honest with one another from now on."

Peter sighed. "All right, you remember when Smythe attacked Jonah?"

"I was there, and It's something I'm going to forget any time soon," she said.

"Well, I was successful in disabling everyone's spidey-sense, but I had to be the device manually because Scorpion destroyed the remote. As a result, I was caught in the blast radius, and now I've lost my spidey-sense."

MJ looked horrified. "Is that why you're coming home or beaten up the normal?"

"I'm finding it difficult to dodge everything," said Peter, unable to look her in the eye, "and I know what you're going to say. You going to convince me to give up being Spider-Man, but we've been down this road many times and find it impossible."

MJ surprised him by slapping him across the face. "Now you listen to me, Peter Parker, and you listen good. I am not going to try to convince you to give up being Spider-Man because I know the guilt will kill you. However, you need help to adapt to these new circumstances."

"And who's going to help?" Peter asked.

"What about Reed? Maybe he can get your spider-sense back or ask the Avengers to help. Peter, I love you, but I can't bear losing you, and I can't imagine what the girls would do without their father. Do this for me."

Peter looked at her and nodded. "Okay, Mrs Parker, message received and understood. Though next time, can we do without the slap?"

MJ smirked. "So even after taking all the beatings from all those supervillains you've faced over the years, you can't stand it when your wife slaps you across the face?"

Peter smirked back. "Promised you won't tell anyone about my weakness."

MJ smiled as she wrapped her arms around him and sat on his lap. "Oh, I think I know how to keep a secret."

She then kissed him on the lips, and the two of them fell on top of the sofa in a passionate embrace.

"This is far too generous for you, Mrs Jarvis," said Gayle.

"You and the boys need a place to call your own, and I was thinking of selling this place after I got married," said Aunt May.

Peter was helping Aunt May move out of the house, which Tony had rebuilt. She was moving because she wanted to distance herself from New York City's hectic life after it was discovered that Martin Li was, in fact, the crime boss, Mister Negative.

He had been using FEAST as a front for his criminal empire, though no one knew that at the time. Aunt May had stumbled on him talking to Hammerhead and used his powers to alter her mind. Under his influence, she became rather agitated and began pushing Peter aside.

Fortunately, she was able to break free from the influence, but when Martin Li's identity became public, FEAST had several problems.

"Plus, I think it's wonderful to have my niece as a next-door neighbour," Aunt Anna smiled.

"So, where are you and Jarvis going to move to?" Peter asked.

"We'll be heading to Boston," said Aunt May.

"I've already given my leave of absence to Mister Stark," said Jarvis.

"He did offer us a room at Avengers Tower, but I think it could do a break from New York after everything," said Aunt May.

"I know the feeling," said Peter. "MJ wanted to move on, so we had May."

"Speaking of Mary, why isn't she here helping?" Gayle asked.

"She's doing some modelling and brought the girls and their friends along," Peter explained.

"Don't you have a company to run, Peter?" Aunt May asked.

"Harry can run things; he knows how important family is," Peter smiled.

"I still haven't quite forgiven him for creating those androids of your parents," said Aunt May.

"He wasn't quite himself," Peter pointed out.

"And I think we can mostly blame that on his father," Aunt Anna agreed.

"He doesn't even remember doing it, and I haven't told him either," said Peter. "I think it's been through enough over the past few years."

"Good point," Aunt May nodded.

Peter then hugged her. "You take care of yourself."

"I'll be fine, Peter," Aunt May assured him.

"Don't worry, Master Peter; I promise I'll take very good care of your aunt," Jarvis assured him.

"Thanks, Jarvis, but you can just call me Peter," he said.

May and April were currently watching their mother doing a photo shoot with their friends.

"Your mom is so beautiful," said Courtney and looked at her own less attractive body. "I wish I had a figure like hers."

"Courtney, you're beautiful in your own way," said Davida. She then looked at both May and April. "Have you two ever considered following your mother's footsteps?"

"I don't really think I'm cut out for modelling or acting," said May.

"I haven't really thought about it myself," said April.

Once their mother was finished with a photo shoot, she made her way over to them.

"You girls enjoying yourselves?" she asked.

"Yes," they all said in unison.

"Thanks for backstage passes, Mrs Parker," said Courtney.

MJ merely smiled at them. "It was quite all right, Courtney."

"Mary Jane, darling," said a voice, and everyone turned to see a short black-haired woman with glasses approaching them, "you were extraordinary, my dear."

"Thank you, Edna," said MJ.

Edna then noticed the girls. "I see you brought a few friends."

MJ then gestuered to her daughters. "These are my daughters May and April and their friends Davida and Courtney."

"Hello, ma'am," said the girls.

"Pleasure, I do hope that you girls enjoyed the beauty of my show," said Edna.

"Mommy was excellent," May beamed.

"She out-showed everyone," said April excitedly.

MJ chuckled. "I wouldn't go that far, girls."

"I think your daughters are right, Mary Jane," said Edna. "You were absolutely superb. I knew it was wise to have you advertise my creations." She then paused and looked at May and April. "And it would seem as if your daughters have inherited your looks. Tell me, do they plan on following in your footsteps? In fact, I actually might have something lined up for them in a few weeks if you're interested."

"I don't think I want that kind of attention, and I'm not really into fashion," said May.

"That is a pity, but what of your sister?" Edna asked as she turned to April.

"Can I do it, Mama?" April asked excitedly.

"I would like to talk to my husband first," said MJ.

"Very well, I'll wait in anticipation then."

Davida and Courtney practically screamed as they grasped hold of April.

"How lucky can you get," said Davida. "Only five years old, and you're going to be a supermodel."

"I'm so jealous," said Courtney.

May looked on sadly, and MJ bent down to her. "You having second thoughts?"

May looked at her. "I don't want to ruin things for April, but I would like to use our skills to help people like Daddy."

"May your father would be so proud to hear you say that," MJ smiled as she ruffled her hair. "And so I. No matter what you do, we'll always be here for you, okay."

May cheered up upon hearing this. "Okay."

Flash was currently helping his fiancée get things ready for their apartment. The two of them were due to be married in just a few weeks, and thanks to the new prosthetic legs that Peter had given to me, I could now move around a lot more freely.

"Looks like we got just about everything done, honey," said Felicia, wrapping her arms around him.

Flash smiled at her. "I think we got everything just about perfect, babe. Are you still sure you want Pete to give your way? I was thinking of asking him if he is my best man."

"I'm sure he would be perfect for either role, but he and I were… close."

Flash knew what she meant; she had mentioned that she and Peter had been together. He couldn't help but feel slightly jealous that he was the rebound guy, but he was about to marry a beautiful woman, so there was nothing to complain about.

"I suppose I can ask Harry to be my best man," Flash shrugged. "I assume you're going to ask MJ to be your maid of honour."

"That's right, and May and April make the perfect flower girls."

"Oh, I bet May is going to love this; she didn't like it when she was her aunt's flower girl."

Felicia shrugged. "Hopefully, she'll have a much better experience the second time around." She then looked at her watch, and her eyes widened. "Sorry, babe. I need to leave, or I'll be late for work."

Flash had no idea what Felicia did for a living; he can only assume it was some secret undercover work. He half wondered if he had actually married the Black Widow.

"I wish you would tell me what your job entails," said Flash.

Felicia raised an eyebrow. "You haven't exactly been forthcoming about what you're doing with the army either."

Flash hated to admit it, but she was right. He hadn't told anyone, but the army had managed to retrieve the Venom symbiote and was trying to make a new super soldier. Fortunately, this version of the symbiote didn't have a mind of its own, but it still took one with an extremely strong will to control.

The army immediately started him out and recruited him into the programming. Fortunately, it seemed as if he had full control over the symbiote and was now going by Agent Venom. His main goal was to attack terrorist cells and spread fear down the network.

"Touche," he smiled. "You just stay safe, and I want to lose my fiance weeks before the wedding."

"Maybe you should take your own advice, handsome," Felicia winked before leaving the apartment.

Peter and Ben Grimm had just seen Sue take off with the kids from the Future Foundation for a fun day out. Admittedly, the kids needed it since Otto Octavius had broken into the Baxter Building just a few days ago.

Ben had invited Peter to the Avengers Mansion for a poker game. They hadn't invited him before since he could use his spidey-sense to cheat.

"So, how's the wife?" Ben asked.

"Worried as heck," said Peter as he put some chips into the pot. "I mean, she was always terrified before when I came home wounded, but now that I can't see attacks coming, she's terrified I won't come back at all."

"I wish you had told us sooner that we could have helped," said Luke as he put some chips into the pot.

"No offence, look, but you're not a scientist," Peter pointed out.

"I'll see if Stretcho can help," Ben Grimm offered. "Because if you do get your spidey-sense back, we won't invite you to play poker again."

"I don't even know I should be gambling my money away," Peter frowned as he looked at his cards.

"True, you're not that good," Hawkeye agreed.

"Or he is and is leading us into a false sense of security," said Iron Fist.

"Maybe we should have a rule about masks as well," Ben suggested.

"If you keep on adding rules, you never get anyone to come and play," Peter pointed out.

"And I would be a whole lot poorer if we did," Clint smiled as he showed them his hand, which contained a pair of Kings.

"I'm afraid that beats me," said Jess.

"Same here," said Carol.

"Well, looks like I win," Clint smiled.

"Oh no," said Red Hulk, revealing that he had a pair of aces. "I'm afraid the winner here, circus boy."

He reached out to grab the pot, but Peter grabbed his hand, stopping him.

"Sorry, Red, but read them and weep," said Peter, showing his hand.

Everyone's eyes widened because somehow Peter had got himself a royal flush.

"How did you do that?" Luke stared.

"I told you that it was better than he lets on," said Iron Fist.

Red narrowed his eyes at Peter. "I want another round."

"Sorry, Red, but I've got to see a man about karate lessons," said Peter as he stood up. "I'm afraid you're going to try and get your money back next time we meet."

"He's joking, right?" Logan asked.

"No, he is taking karate lessons with Shi Chang," said Iron Fist. "They're actually using one of my dojo's."

"Probably still saw that you beaten that one time," said Clint.

"I don't think that's the case," said Jess.

Peter was taking lessons from Shi Chang, which Madam Web advised, thinking that it would help compensate for his lack of spidey-sense predicting that you might need in the future. Peter was not going to argue with her as she was able to see into the future.

Back at their apartment, Peter told MJ he was getting help with his lack of spidey-sense.

"I'm so glad that you're getting help, Tiger," said MJ relieved.

"Ben is also going to have a word with Reed to help me as well," said Peter.

"That's great."

"So, how was the photo shoot?" Peter asked.

"It was great, but Edna came with a surprising proposal," said MJ. "She was hoping that the girls could model for some of her designs."

Peter stared at her. "You kidding?"

"No, I'm deadly serious," she said. "May pretty much turned down the offer, but April was extremely excited."

"I don't know if it's a good idea having our daughter centre stage everywhere," Peter frowned.

"Yet you don't have a problem with me showing off?" MJ smirked.

"It's your job; April is still six years old."

"You know how much April loves fashion; she gets that from me."

That was true; unlike May, April was really into fashion, and contrary to May, who was a bit of a tomboy, April was more in line with a girly girl kind of fashion. Peter suspected it was April's way of distancing herself from May, something she probably learned from Ben imagined.

"I take your point, and I don't want to interfere in our daughter's future, but I do wish they keep their heads down. Doctor Strange's spell only worked on me, not our kids; if someone figures out that they are Spider-Man kids, then spell no spell. It will figure out that I'm Spider-Man, and I don't need to remind you what kind of trouble we went for the first time."

MJ nodded. "I know what you're getting at, but May and April are smart girls. They get that from you. I mean, how many six-year-olds do you know that can jerry-rig a jamming device out of some scrap."

Peter smiled. "All right, you win. April can go to that photo shoot if she wants."

MJ smiled and kissed him on the lips. "I knew I could talk you round."

Peter smiled. "You always do in the end."

Jonah, meanwhile, was not having a happy day, as his secretary Glory had just informed him that his polls were dropping and were at an all-time low.

"What do you mean my approval ratings are going down?!" Jonah yelled. "That can't be! I'm this city's beloved mayor!"

"I think it comes down with your stance on Spider-Man—" said Glory.

"Your figures must be wrong, Mrs Grant. Check them again."

"Jonah, I double and triple-checked them, but I'm afraid it's true, and that is still dropping."

"Most of that is down to the fact to your anti-spider patrols, which most people consider a waste of taxpayers money," said one of his aides.

"Ingrates!" Jonah fumed. "Don't they see that Spider-Man's the problem, not me? If he weren't around, then they would have nothing to complain about. It's not just him either at all those other super-creeps. Why can't people see that?"

"And why can't you see that Spider-Man has done more harm than good," said Jay as he entered the office.

"Please tell me you're not falling for his hero act, Dad?" Jonah grumbled.

"He did save your son's life twice," Jay pointed out. "Need I remind you that he was put in peril by the Scorpion, someone you helped create."

"How was I supposed to know the experiment done on him would turn him crazy?" Jonah grumbled.

"There's also the fact that the mass wouldn't have happened if you hadn't funded Spencer Smythe's project, which led to his death leading to his son being antagonistic towards you."

"I can't believe I'm hearing these words from my own father," Jonah grumbled.

"Maybe you should take a leaf out of Peter Parker's book and use your power to actually help the people of this city," Jay suggested. "And you could start by stopping cutting grants in half."

Johan just remained silent, grumbling.

Meanwhile, Peter was demonstrating something new that Parker Industries was introducing to a crowd of investors.

"Ladies and gentlemen allow me to introduce to you the Cryo Cube," said Peter.

Peter had initially intended to call it the Cryo Cube 2000, but Gayle talked him out of it. To the untrained observer, it was just a cube field with worms, which admittedly did not look all that impressive.

"I think it's only this, Dr Parker, but worms have already been invented."

A few people laughed.

"The world is only here to demonstrate the Cryo Cube," Peter smiled. "So this is how it works. If we take living cells, tissues or any organ materials and put them in this chamber, then all you have to do is hit the switch and…" Peter flipped the switch and instantly, the worms were frozen in place. "… Ta-da! Wormsicles."

Now the investors were starting to get more interested in the device.

"And all you have to do is flick the switch back and…" Peter flipped the switch on, and the worms returned to normal. "…no harm, no foul."

"Most impressive."

"It could revolutionise how we deliver emergency medical transplants."

"We could also get Gelato from Italy!"

"That's me," Peter smiled. "Making the world safe for livers and frozen treats."

Quite a number of people laughed.

After the presentation, Peter returned to his office, where he began conversing with Harry and Gayle.

"Excellent work, Pete," said Harry. "That demonstration certainly got quite a bit of attention."

"Investors are already giving us quite some lucrative deals," said Gayle. "If things keep going at this pace, we'll be able to hire even more people. We might even be able to expand the business."

"We can thank Max for spreading the word," said Peter. "Now, if Jonah would invest more in grants, everything would be perfect."

"Good luck with that, Pete, not when he has a vendetta against you and all your spider friends," said Harry. "Though this weight is not going to win the next election, he might even be kicked out of office before them."

"I'm just grateful that his bullheadness doesn't seem to be passed down," said Gayle. "I mean, both his father and son are a lot more agreeable."

"Especially his son, right?" Peter smirked.

Gayle instantly blushed. "I don't know what you're talking about. Anyway, I should get back to work. We have a lot to go through from today's presentation."

Gayle then quickly left the office, looking a little flustered.

"Ah, love," Harry smirked. "Of course, if those two get together, Jonah will end up being part of your family."

Peter groaned. "I've been trying not to think about that."

"Mr Parker," said a voice on the intercom.

"What is it, Mrs Wei?" Peter asked.

Min Wei was Peter's personal private secretary, who he hired about a week ago.

"I have a Miss Carlie Cooper, who claims to be a friend of yours and Mr Lyman," said Min. "She claims she has something important to discuss with you."

"Send her in," said Peter.

Within moments, Carlie entered the office looking rather excited.

"So was so important that couldn't wait?" Harry asked.

"You boys better prepare yourselves," Carlie smiled.

She bent her knees, suddenly somersaulted into the air, and stuck to the ceiling. Peter and Harry's eyes widened as Carlie looked down at them upside down.

"What the?!" Harry stared.

"Was not expecting that," said Peter.

"I know, right," Carlie smiled. "I'm just like Spider-Man."

"B-But how the hell did you get superpowers?" Peter stared.

"I don't know, but isn't it great?" said Carlie.

Great wasn't exactly the word Peter would use; in fact, this could be quite serious.

"I'm calling Dr Richards," said Peter as he grasped the phone.

Carlie frowned, confused. "Why?"

Harry stared at her. "Carlie, you suddenly and unexpectedly gained the powers of Spider-Man without explanation. We need to find out how this happened and see what we can do for you."

"Hang on, are you saying that the first thing you do if you got superpowers at a doctor and try to get rid of them?" Carlie asked, raising an eyebrow.

Peter and Harry exchanged looks and Peter had to admit that she got them there.

"You guys don't need to worry. I'm a trained police officer," said Carlie. "Think all the good I could do with these powers. In fact, Peter, since you make Spider-Man his gear, you could build stuff for me too."

"Oh, no, no, no!" said Peter, shaking his head. "Besides, both me and MJ have to see my aunt and her new husband off at the airport tomorrow morning."

"Fine, but if you have a change of heart, you know how to call me," Carlie smiled and then left the office.

"Just what the world needs, another Spider-Woman," Peter groaned.

"But how did she get your powers?" Harry frowned and looked at Peter suspiciously. "You haven't been seen on the slide, have you?"

Peter looked at him, outraged. "You think I would cheat on MJ after everything we've been through?"

"Sorry, I wasn't thinking."

"Besides, I've been hanging around with MJ for years, and nothing has ever happened to her. No, I think something else is involved. Harry, I hate to ask you, but do you think you could—"

"Look into this?" Harry finished. "No problem, Pete."

Hiding in New York City, in an underground laboratory, was Miles Warren, aka the Jackal. Besides him were two giant humanoid spiders: one called Tarantula and the other Spider-King. He was making his way through his lab, which was run by clones of himself.

"I do apologise for my tardiness, ma'am," said Jackal respectfully. "But I had to walk through 4 Miles just to get here."

"Not funny," Tarantula hissed.

"Oh, like you know, funny," said Jackel. "Actually, you were quite the class clown back in the day, weren't you?"

"Gentlemen, if you are done with your banter, I would like a progress report," said a woman's voice hiding within the shadows.

"Of course, ma'am," said Jackel. "The virus is beginning to spread to the populace of New York. Tomorrow will begin stage II of our plan to sow the city into chaos."

"Excellent," said the mysterious woman. "Soon, everyone will bend to my will, and this city will become an island of spiders."

I added Edan from The Incredibles because she made a small cameo in the Spider-Girl comics, and I couldn't resist adding her in.
